Only great things to say about this experience! Communication and the free shuttle service from Giorgio was amazing and made the experience accessible. Their estate is beautiful and having coffee in their courtyard was a relaxing way to start the tour. The lesson on Traditional Balsamic Vinegar production was easy to understand as it was provided in English with pictures to help visualize the process. The tour continued with the visit to the barrel room where differences in aging is demonstrated and then it’s time for the tasting! All of the foods at the tasting were so good and only enhanced by adding their balsamic vinegar. They were also kind enough to provide Lambrusco to pair with it. This experience is so worth it! Everyone was extremely friendly, felt like one happy family!

We had the best experience!! We came by train and had opted to use their shuttle service, all prompt and at the meeting point. The whole environment is stunning- the business is based in the traditional family home and you are invited on arrival to have a drink in their beautiful garden. The tour was conducted brilliantly by Martina and is a comprehensive insight into the history and essentials of the far superior DOP balsamic vinegar. We got to see original barrels in the loft and to examine and smell the differences in the ageing process. The coup de grace was the tasting menu where we were asked to pair the 12 yr and the 25yr vinegar with a variety of foods, including risotto cake, all cooked with care. It was a fabulous experience and many thanks to the caring staff. It was a privilege to be with people so passionate about their craft.
Warm and friendly! Superb experience from start to finish and very Informative. Beautiful & planting tasting /pairing food with no pressure to leave early. No pressure to buy anything either, although we couldn’t resist! Gluten free catered for. Beautiful family home can definitely recommend
This was a very informative and interesting tour. You will learn about of process of making balsamic vinegar, about the history of the family and their gorgeous house. Finally there is a tasting of food with different cheeses, omelette and also ricotta cake paired with two types of balsamic vinegar. My guide Elena was lovely and very well prepared. Her English was outstanding. There was also a shuttle service from the train station in Modena as the place is outside in the country side. Lovely experience and so worth !
My visit was a very pleasing and informstive experience. To me, visiting a locally owned and operated as a family business is the best experience. I was welcomed into the family house and treated like family and was able to meet some of the family. The presentation was well done and I now feel fully educated on how labor intensive and time consuming the process of producing real basalmic vinegar is. The tasting and final sit down and consume basalmic vinegar on a wide selection of snacks was phenominal!
Very interesting and well organised tour, great hospitality and unique place where you can’t find elsewhere in the world
The place is a family-run « acetaia » since 1905. The guide, Elena, was very knowledgeable and was able to explain the whole process of making balsamic vinegar. We met with the owner and he too was quite knowledgeable and explain the difference in 12 year old vs 25 year old balsamic vinegar. We sampled different foods with both vinegars. It was a very pleasant experience! Highly recommended.
Visiting this balsamic farm & the owners home, the knowledge of the guide & the fabulous tasting was fantastic. It was incredible value for money and it was a bonus being picked up from Modena train station (by the owner for €10) as he was engaging and informative. If you’d like to do a balsamic vinegar tasting, I highly recommend this one as it’s perfect and you’ll leave with a much better appreciation for balsamic vinegar.
A far more interesting tour than you might expect! We really enjoyed ourselves and wish we did the longer “Lunch and Tasting” version that Giorgio’s family offers. The balsamic aging process is quite interesting and we found ourselves using the knowledge gained throughout the rest of our trip in Italy. We were promptly picked up at the train station and taken to the estate where we received a crash course in traditional balsamic vinegar, saw the battery of barrels, and enjoyed tastings paired with food. We ended up purchasing one extra vecchio bottle on site and regret not buying more!
We had an amazing time at this tasting. We learned so much about the balsamic vinegar process and the hosts were very kind! Lots of food included too, everything was delicious!
A very good balance of information and tasting in a beautiful, historic setting. While sitting in the lovely room of the mansion, our guide described the balsamic process. Moving to the barrel room, we could visually see how balsamic is aged. Finally, sitting for the tasting with the guide's guidance was an exciting culmination. The 2 ages of balsamic paired uniquely with each of the food items - and you're free to try in all combinations at your own private table. In fact, the options were in such abundance we skipped a meal that day. As an extra benefit, we used the shuttle they provided from the train station and it was seamless. Thank you!
Elisa, our guide, was knowledgeable and personable. This was an amazing for the tour cost! It’s a hidden gem and we had an incredible time!
A surprise hit on our two week trip to Italy. Marco was a very friendly host, who explained the family’s history in making balsamic vinegar and the process by which it is made, and guided us through a tasting with various homemade foods (recipes included). A great afternoon stop for anyone passing through Modena.
Lovely experience-I highly recommend… It was beyond my expectations! Luca gave us a very nice tour and presentation. I thought our group was going to be 8 people. We were so fortunate to have a private experience. The Balsamic tasting was incredible…and the extras they gave you at the table were parmigiana, bread, quiche and desert…plus two types of goat cheese. This was all such a wonderful surprise. Everything was delicious. We had a darling set up table with all the fixings. The 12 year old and 25 old Balsamic was out of this world and we bought a bottle of both. The tour was only suppose to be one hour but I think we spent at least an hour and a half there. We were not rushed and Luca and the young lady were so gracious. You definitely get your money’s worth. Great value and wonderful memorable time!
Prefect ! Good experience and enjoy the activity. I appreciate the shuttle bus service and make me easier to visit. Thank you generous Mario and beautiful Valeria.
It is very well organized.the staff unique nice people. Intersting and very tastful. Amazing familie estorie all the place very clean and wellcoming. In conclusion I very very advise to take this wonderful tour.
Amazing experience! Absolutely worth the trip out to the farm. Family and staff were unbelievably friendly; the owner was extremely engaging and very personable. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to experience traditional balsamic vinegar the right way!
Fantastic tour and delicious food sampling with balsamic vinegar! Gracious hosts who have a wonderful business!!! Great experience!
Perfect tasting with very good explanation. Really worth a visit, this was pure enjoyment.
Very educational visit at really friendly family business who with great pride presented their balsamico and dedicated us to the years-long process that it requires for a D.O.P. Balsamico. After visiting the ceiling where the production takes place, there were generous and extremely delicious tastes. It was great that there was the possibility to use shuttle to and from Modena - the owner picked us up, so we had a good talk about the production along the way.
Super accueil, le personnel a tout fait pour que l'on comprenne ( nous sommes Français, alors que normalement c'était soit en Italien ou Anglais) visite agréable et fini par une dégustation. Très très bonne 😋
An unexpected visit... We were welcomed within the domain occupied by its owners. Our host Valeria explained the entire manufacturing process in French. She was very helpful and attentive. We made a tasting of 3 balsamic vinegars at different ages of aging.. And we ended the tour with a snack of sweet and savoury accompanied by Lombrusco and balsamic vinegar of course, in the owners’ own house. A treat... We felt like guests there. Thanks also to Alisar for his kindness. Both very friendly and charming. We highly recommend this visit.
Very friendly, informative, impressive, discreet, non-intrusive - a good time. Now we know a lot and have a good feeling.
