BOOK THIS TOUR! Our tour operator, Cecilia, was nothing short of fabulous! Very insightful and knowledgeable of the land and the the production of the cheese, balsamic and wine. The crown jewel of the trip was the vineyard, not just for the amazing wine, but for the incredibly sweet family the owns and operates the vineyard. The entire day was absolutely perfect and I couldn’t sing the praises for Cecilia and each establishment high enough. Book this tour!

Cecilia was an amazing tour guide. The business are all local and you get to meet the families behind the business. The people were all amazing and were passionate about sharing their business and lives with us. It felt like we were on a tour with old friends. I can’t recommend the tour enough. One of the best tours we had in our two weeks in Italy from the states.
Cecelia was a knowledgeable and personable guide! Fun tour!
An Authentic & personal experience, visiting three families building on traditional practices. Generous tastings & opportunity to hear from the producers, with thoughtful insights from our wonderful guide, Cecilia. Great value, with travel in a clean, comfortable Mercedes van. For us - a small group of two. Highly recommended!
Fabulous day with our marvellous guide Cecilia who is extremely knowledgeable. Absolutely loved it!
My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful personalised tour with our driver Paulo and our very knowledgeable guide Cecilia. Each destination was authentic with delicious food, and balsamic and wine tasting. We loved the tour and highly recommend to others.
This is a lovely morning out of Bologna. With the terrific guide Ella and friendly driver Paolo, we had a great time visiting several interesting places. First the small parmigiano factory with a guided tour and small breakfast. Then a stop at a very small family run balsamic vinegar maker. The maker gave us a tour and a tasting. I never knew there was so much to balsamic! Finally our favourite stop was the amazing winery, set in some beautiful countryside with some delicious wine. The family running the winery were so friendly and we had a very informative and casual tour. I would love to have bought more if the wine and will try to find a way to get some sent to me in UK. Thank you, Ella and Paolo!
Ella (guide) and Roberto (driver) were incredible. They were very punctual, knowledgeable and kind. This tour was a highlight of our trip. We also got some recommendations for the remainder of our trip which were very helpful. Make sure to bring closed toe non slip shoes for the parmesan factory, the floor can get really quite wet but the process is very impressive and cheese tastes amazing. The balsamic vinegar tasting was eye opening. We're from Canada and it tasted very different than what we were used to. We were very impressed. The last stop, was beautiful and very homey. The people were very welcoming. We arrived right on time for the harvest and were able to taste the different types of grapes as well as the wines. Would highly recommend.
Our trip was fantastic, in a very comfortable mini van. The guide was local, knowledgeable, and fun
This tour is the highlight of my summer trip. Learning family legacies, regional food at its best source! I left my heart in Bologna!
Fantastic tour. Definitely recommend booking this. Very small group with a great guide so we got a lot of good information. Loved visiting small producers - we were the only ones there at 2 of 3 stops!
One of the highlights of our trip to Bologna and well worth the money. Visiting the Parmigiano Reggiano producer, traditional balsamic vinegar producer and local winery was a brilliant experience and gave a real insight into how everything is made. Breakfast at the cheese producer was a lovely touch, and lunch at the winery was excellent. Everything was really well organised and never felt rushed. Ela was a fantastic guide – friendly, knowledgeable and made the whole day feel really personal rather than just another tour. She was happy to answer questions and made sure everyone had a great experience. We’d definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Bologna.
Great tour! Perfect amount of time spent throughout the day, back in Bologna in time for lunch. Our guide Ella was fantastic and very knowledgeable about not only the tour but also all things Bologna and Emilio- Romagna. Our driver Roberto was also fantastic and very knowledgeable about all things Modena and too the time to drive us by the Ferrari factory. Would highly recommend!
Amazing tour! Jacob was very friendly and knowledgeable about the region. Each of the factory tours were delicious and educational with fabulous cheese, balsamic, and wine. We tried so many new things and learned a lot!
Great cultural experience, perfect time at each stop. And Ella was super friendly and informative.
Wonderful experience touring and tasting local family owned producers. Our guide Ella was lovely, knowledgeable and accommodating.
This tour was the highlight of my trip to Bologna. Ela was an exceptional guide—knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about the region. She brought to life not only the production of Parmigiano Reggiano, balsamic vinegar, and local wines, but also the history, culture, and character of Modena and the surrounding cities. The half-day format was perfect; I was amazed by how much we saw and learned in just five hours without ever feeling rushed. The driver was great, the sprinter van was very comfortable, and I especially appreciated that the tour focused on small, family-run producers. It felt authentic and immersive, offering a genuine connection to the local community and traditions that make this region so special. I wish I could take every tour with Ela!! She is fantastic.
Cecilia did a wonderful job with our small group tour, providing knowledgeable and engaging commentary on the scenic drive and at each unique stop. We met the families and employees (and cows!) that work meticulously to create the region’s renowned parmigiano reggiano, balsamic vinegar, wines, and produce. We visited in early June at the peak of cherry (duroni) season—the literal cherry on top of a wonderful experience! We left with a wealth of knowledge and delicacies from a dairy, an acetaia and an organic, family-run vineyard. Highly recommend this tour if you’re looking for a relaxing and intimate half-day excursion that showcases authentic culinary treasures while supporting the families behind them!
Cecila was absolutely fabulous! She took us on a tour of the Parmesan dairies where we saw the cheese being made, we visited a farm near Modena where they make balsamic vinegar and then finished at the most gorgeous vineyard. Her knowledge of the area and the food production is unparalleled and she was delightful to chat to. We cannot recommend her enough. Also the vineyard she took us to is run by the most gorgeous family, the Paulis. Wonderful food, wonderful people, just a wonderful time. Book.
Fantastic experience in Bologna, we did the parmigiano, balsamico and wine tour with our tour guide Cecilia, who was a wonderful energetic guide fluent in English explaining all the history about her region. A very big plus is that they come to pick you up and drop you back off near the station of Bologna, and the bus was clean and driver was very professional Would really recommend.
This food and wine tour from Bologna was one of the best experiences of our trip to Italy, and our tour leader truly made the difference. From the moment we departed Bologna, everything was perfectly organized, and the guide’s knowledge of the Emilia-Romagna region was impressive. We visited a traditional Parmigiano Reggiano cheese factory, a family-run balsamic vinegar acetaia, and a beautiful local winery. At each stop, our tour leader provided in-depth explanations about history, and local traditions, making the experience both educational and enjoyable.
I got a message that the trip was changed to 10.6.26 from those who were to complete the trip. I wanted to cancel with the company that was responsible for the trip 11/2 days before the trip, so I could get my money back. Unfortunately, this is not successful. I can send the communication I've had with the company. It under all criticism
Relaxed tour with space to take a good look and ask questions. The guide has a lot of knowledge. The welcome at the three farms was very welcome!
Visit to beautiful local authentic producers. Ceciale talked passionately about the products , region and local producers. It was a nice change and nice to see the production method of these Hero products from this region. The owners were also very friendly and full of passion. This activity is definitely recommended when you stay in Bologna region for a few days.
The title says it all. The guide told very passionately!
