Easy pickup and drop off When booking the shuttle. Tons of learning and food to pair with the balsamic. Great education and tasting ! Recommend if you want to learn. Great tour/ experience.
This is a wonderful experience with an insight into the history and making of the best balsamic vinegar you are ever likely to taste. The hosts very kindly provided a shuttle service from the railway station, an extremely warm welcome and an amazing lunch. If you are in the area this is an unmissable attraction.
Lovely estate, informative presentation, if a bit overly stated that it is a family affair. Attentive staff.
A fascinating look into one families history of making balsamic vinegar in Modena. You will learn how the balsamic vinegar is made being the various stages and how only the very best can achieve recognition. You then have a tasting session at a lunch that showcases the best of flavour combinations. As a hint only have a very light breakfast before you go .
Fantastic experience which is highly recommended. Very informative and lunch was fantastic. High Recommend this.
This was the worst tour we have ever been on. While the guide did her best and was very informative, it was not at all value for value in the least. One of the insults was that we had to pay for our own wine. We paid $200 for this tour where we ate a few sandwiches annd some gelato and we had to pay for our own wine? We thought we were going to see some actual production. We did a balsamic tour of the day before for less than half the price were fed much better and it was much more informative. We will never ever take a tour with this company again. Basically, it sucked. We will be writing reviews elsewhere as well to discourage others from taking this tour.
An all round wonderful experience. Giovanna was an absolute star and ray of sunshine. She was so knowledgeable about all things balsamic vinegar, friendly and gave this experience a personalised touch. Learnt so much about the process of making the balsamic vinegar and appreciate the work and time that goes into this so much more now. The value was exceptional - the lunch was delicious and so abundant. Thank you, I will be highly recommending this beautiful family, its business and experiences.
A wonderful tour with personal touches. We highly recommend - we had a great time, good food and learned a lot. Their balsamic is amazing.
The tour and tasting was absolutely fantastic. We had a great group at our table, and our host, Elena, was amazing. My wife and I met some great people and tasted things we never had before. Worth every bit of what we paid.
It was fantastic, well organized and generous. We loved every part of this tour. The balsamic vinegar was amazing to taste and explained so well. This tour is a must in Modena. We also walk the town. It was so quaint and Beautiful!
Fabulous family business who were gracious hosts, food was fabulous, no expense sparred, family members were interesting and location was great.
A perfect 2 hours spent in a beautiful garden in the owner's villa. Staff were brilliant and the food and tasting were superb
Very interesting tour. The vinegars were amazing. Lunch is provided and it is excellent with plenty if food for everyone with beautiful local wines mario and his staff are winderful. Highly recommend this tour. Excellent value. Also, if you are coming from Bologna, they will pick you up from the train station and take you to the farm
Amazing trip , well organised, very informative . Food was incredible . Picked up from the station and they took us back into the middle of Bologna . Nothing was too much trouble . Highly recommend this trip , well worth the money . The young girls were very welcoming and knowledgeable.
It’s fantastic! Just do it, beautiful villa, nice people and very interesting to learn about balsamic vinegar Lunch was good too. We enjoyed this a lot
Great experience from the history & making of balsamic vinegar to a terrific lunch being welcomed by the "patriarch" of the family. Highly recommend.
Giorgio and Mario and staff told us how the entire process of good balsamic vinegar is done over the years. Then a delicious lunch trying lots of bites of food with the aged balsamic vinegars in their countryside villa . I will never look at vinegar the same way! Grazie Mille !
A great experience. The shuttle service offered by the host was seamless, and on time - considering I did not rent a car. Our shared lunch was a fulfilling experience that included great regional and family dishes that were shared in a beautiful dining room. The previous reviews paved the way to me booking this experience, and I left with my hands full of plenty of vinegar to take home and share with family. Hard to have a bad time!
What a treat! We are traveling around Italy with our two little kids and are trying to do activities in each city that are special to the area. This Balsamic tasting/tour/lunch did not disappoint! The host family were so great and welcoming. It was incredibly informative as well as fun! Recommend!
We learned so much about the differences between balsamic vinegars. Then we got to taste the different aged vinegars along with a large tasteful lunch of Emilia-Romagna favorites.
Very educational session on the making and selecting of high quality balsamic vinegar. The food was good quality cold cuts and cheese to accompany the vinegar. Highly recommended!
The event is in the family manor. Everyone was warm and welcoming. I learned so much about vinegar. The food was amazing, excited to try recipes and balsamic we bought at home. Thank you Mario and family.
The experience was very good. We were picked up at the station in Modena on time and it was a short ride to the Villa. The staff were all excellent, the Balsamic information delivered professionally and lunch with Balsamic vinegar tastings was delicious.
Wonderful balsamic tasting experience in this family’s home! They were very accommodating and friendly. The property is beautiful! It is very special to see the family tradition passed down generation to generation.
Mario, the owner, was very gracious especially since we were late. He gave us an overview to “catch up” with group. The balsamic experience included the history of the family and their batterie of barrels. Then down to the luncheon where we tasted 2 different ages of balsamic and learned about and paired the balsamic with different ages of Parmesan and other cheeses. Luncheon consisted of several types of meats, cheeses and focaccia, limoncello and dessert. Staff was friendly and informative. Definitely worth a visit.
Fantastic experience! Learning about the process was very interesting and rewarding. All the people involved were nice and knowledgeable. The lunch was delicious and well worth the price. The setting of the farm itself, was beautiful and fun.
From the punctual transportation, through the informative lecture of that great tradition, the amazing food, the hospitality of the hosts and of course to the Modena gold - the balsamic vinegar - everything was perfect! We enjoyed every detail and highly recommend this experience.
What a fabulous day! The food was incredible, the staff were lovely and it was really special to be hosted in the family home. Highly recommend this experience. What a treat!
Very informative and interesting. The home and setting was very authentic. Lunch was wonderful with the pairing choices. Also loved seeing Modena and Ferrari museum. Wish i had planned more time in the area. I will be back.
Excellent experience - I definitely recommend! I learned a lot, everyone was friendly and welcoming, and the meal was delicious! It was an amazing opportunity to experience the warmth and passion of a family run business. I felt completely comfortable as a solo female traveler.
This was an incredible experience from start to finish. Giacomo picked us up right on time in Modena. We were welcomed with a local wine, given a wonderful description of the process, and then taken up to see the “battery “of barrels, where Giacomo patiently answered all of our questions as he showed us the differences between some of the barrels. There were so many interesting things that he shared with us-I particularly appreciated learning the differences between the different labels vinegars can have and what they mean. Next, it was time for the tasting. I had no idea Balsamic Vinegar could be used as a condiment on so many foods! Multiple types of cheeses and hams were in plentiful supply, among other things. Definitely come hungry. The main course was a risotto that was incredible on its own, but also wonderful paired with the vinegar. We even tried it on one of the desserts! We were delighted to learn a bit about the family from Giaccomo as well as the owner himself, who proudly introduced us to one of his daughters and his newest grandchild. Note that you anre actually eating in the family home. It’s wonderful! And there is, of course, the opportunity to buy some of the amazing vinegar. I love bringing back food from my travels that has a story. And will be delighted to tell everyone about this wonderful family, their product, and the amazing experience I had there. All the wonderful reviews are spot on. Stop looking and book this experience.
There is something truly comforting and magical about stepping foot in this home for this tour. This is actually their home and we were treated as friends and guests, which made the experience even better. Gigorgio and Mario were excellent hosts as well as the rest of the staff. It felt like we entered into a chapter of romance novel. The tour was interesting and informative. There was a perfect (and very substantial) selection of cheese, meat, bread, and drinks. And they (of course) presented the balsamic vinegar in a way I had never experienced before and talked about how best to pair specific vinegars with other flavors. This was truly a remarkable, eye opening, and glorious experience as me and my bf's first time visiting Italy. Fantastico! Highly recommended for anyone visiting Bologna or Modena.
We loved the family feel of the tour and how amazing everything was! The dedication put into every details really shines through! And it always help when there is amazing food and wines to accompany such a great time!! My fiancee was skeptical about the tour but ended up loving it!!
Great lunch, very friendly and informative trip. Marco needs to learn to speak a little more slowly. But we had a great time.
This experience was one of the highlights from our trip! Food was amazing, the estate is beautiful and it was so interesting to learn about the vinegar making process! Staff were very professional and friendly.
What a wonderful experience it was to visit this traditional Balsamic Vinegar producer. It was an absolute joy to learn about how BV is made. And then to sit down to sample local foods coupled with the BV, it sent my taste buds into a wild frenzy. The hosts were marvellous, and we cannot thank them enough to inviting us into their home to experience and taste such a wonderful product
We had a wonderful time at the beautiful Villa enjoying an incredible and way too much food for 3 people lunch! But we sure tried to eat it all. It was delicious!
Learned about the basics of making balsamic vinegar from the host. The pairing of balsamic (nuovo/vecchio) with parmagiano reggiano, rissotto, etc., was fantastic. I did not know that you can do this. I've always used balsamic mostly in salads. Overall, the experience was excellent.
This was one of our best experiences ever! Giorgio picked us up at the train station and pointed out some of the sights in Modena on the way to his family home. Upon arrival we were taken on an informative tour of the barrel room followed by a wonderful tasting on the balsamic vinegars produced there. The lunch provided was extensive and featured family recipes to try with the 25 year and the 12 year balsamic. We thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon. This was a real highlight of our trip!
Wonderful hosts, informative experience on the production of balsamic vine gar and delicious pairings which included family recipes. Would highly recommend!
The process of producing the vinegar was well explained, as well as suggestions for how to use it. Lunch was set up to allow for more sampling of cheeses and family recipes. Met wonderful people.
Great tour of a family owned factory and tasting with paired foods was a plus! The family lives on the property and participates for part of the tour.
The products were fabulous, we were given many foods: cheeses, meats, and more to sample with their Basalmic vinegar! The family owners were very fun and interesting. This is a “must do” if in Modena!! The place is beautiful and historic!
Wonderful experience ,informative and interactive tour including tastings of balsamic. Amazing food , wines and liquors also included , hosted by the charming family in their ancestoral home, 10/10 !!!
The information about balsamic vinegar production was amazing and very informative. The lunch was spectacular. I would highly recommend this tour
We really enjoyed this tour. Informative and interesting tour in a quiet and beautiful setting followed by a delicious lunch.
Was an amazing experience and well worth while. The history, balsamic, food and wine were amazing and the hosts very welcoming.
Beautiful villa! Excellent presentation and great hospitality! Absolutely recommend to visit. We learned so much and enjoyed the food😊
Wonderful experience!! Appreciated that we could get picked up from the train station in Modena and taken to the tour. Wonderful venue, lots to learn, lunch was fantastic - only regret is we should have bought more vinegar when we left!! Prices amazing!! One of the best things we did in Italy (6 adults, one baby).
