AMAZING-MUST DO! This was our best cooking class experience. Falminia and Chef Elizabetta were so lovely and welcomed us into their home like family. This experience includes transportation from Bologna up into the green hills to their beautiful property. The views are breathtaking. Falminia gave us some history of Bologna on the drive. The class is held in their updated personal kitchen. Chef Elizabetta taught us how to make 2 pastas Tortelloni stuffed with cheese and Tagliatelle with tomatoes and onions, from scratch. You can just tell she enjoys teaching her recipes to others. Then, we ate outside on the beautiful grounds. Everything was so delicious! Falminia & Elizabetta are wonderful hosts and make the whole experience special. We would do this experience again. You will not find anything else so personal and enjoyable. Thank you so much for such an amazing time.

Absolutely amazing! Their house is in a beautiful setting, the food was amazing, and they pick you up and drop you off downtown! Super cute dogs too 😊
Ww had a wonderful experience with Elisabetta and her wonderful family and dogs! We make pasta at home on a regular basis, but taking a class such as this one helps me correct bad habits. We learned so much about their organic farm, where the raise bees and make honey. The honey is Linden and 1000 flowers..very different from our honey from home. The dogs were so sweet and they love all the guests, especially when you can slip them a treat. The experience is special..the environment is specifically organic and creative. It is an experience you will not soon forget.
Super hostile hosting from Elizabeta and her Family. We made some pasta varieties and all her tips and tricks make this cooking class so precious. We had a great day with her and her daughter. İf you visit Bologna, this cooking class is a must!!!
If you love cooking Italian and a beautiful hillside setting, this is a must! We were greeted in Bologna by Flaminia and driven to the family villa in the hills outside of Bologna. Elizabetta (Mom) was delightful and taught us how to make make authentic bolognese, two types of pasta, and then shaping and filling tortellini. We cooked while listening to Italian music and drinking delicious wines. Then we ate - absolutely amazing!
This was a truly wonderful experience from start to finish We enjoyed every moment - the company, the food, the scenery all amazing
Flaminia welcomed us into her home with warmth and passion for her subject. She interjected stories of her family history, culture, and recipe ingredients which culminated in a delicious meal of our own creation! We thank her for her guidance and kindness, and highly recommend the experience to anyone.
This is the most impressive experience. The family made a part of theirs and we are what we created. The view and atmosphere is 5 star. This is my new Michelin Restaurant.
I am so grateful to have been able to attend this cooking class with this extremely kind and welcoming family. It was so nice to hear the history of the area, immerse into some more of the culture, and eat such a delicious meal in their beautiful garden. This was definitely a major highlight of the trip.
One of our biggest goals while in Italy was to immerse ourselves in the true culture! Not the touristy parts! It was for this reason that I booked the is specific tour while in Bologna! After all- where could be better to do a cooking class than Bologna?! My husband and our two teenage children attended and it was one of two highlights of our trip! The family is delightful and extremely accommodating. The food and drinks were delicious! We learned exactly what we needed to do to be able to come home and make the pasta at home and we have done that a few times now! Beyond the cooking- the views from the house are incredibly and my husband too many pictures of the beautiful scenery! Everything about the tour was incredible and if we are ever back in Italy! We would sign up again for another class! Don’t miss out on an incredible experience!
Absolutely wonderful. The nicest people and so knowledgeable. Fantastic day with unbelievable food a great learning experience and it felt like we were family.
On our last night in Italy, we joined a pasta-making class about 30 minutes outside of Bologna—and it was truly special. The chef’s home and property looked like something off a postcard. It was so beautiful it almost didn’t feel real—rolling hills, garden views, and a peaceful setting that instantly made you slow down and soak it all in. What made the experience unforgettable was the incredible hospitality of the chef and her daughter. They welcomed us into their home with such warmth and joy, it felt like spending the evening with extended family. Their love for cooking and for sharing their culture was obvious in every moment—and it made the experience feel deeply personal. Our group had six adults (including four in their 20s), and we all had a blast. Even more telling - our seventh group member was on his third visit to this class. That says everything you need to know. It wasn’t rushed or overly structured—just a relaxed, hands-on evening full of laughter, learning, and truly amazing food. The dinner we shared at the end might’ve been the best of our entire trip. Looking back, it wasn’t just a class—it was a memory we’ll talk about for years. The perfect way to wrap up our Italian adventure. Just book it. You’ll thank yourself later.
This was one of the most magical experiences I've ever had. The hosts were so kind, knowledgeable, and patient. Their property was unbelievably stunning, and their dogs were so friendly! It's apparent how passionate they are about food and cooking. I felt a sense of honor learning how to make tortoloni with them. A feeling of gratitude I've never felt for food before. To get to their house, the sisters Flavia and Flaminia pick you up in their car and drive you to their property. Along the way, they tell you about the history of Bologna, which I was not expecting. They were so kind! Elisabetta, the chef and matriarch of the family, an awarded chef, was an honor to learn from. This is an experience I will never forget, and I have endless gratitude for the family. I'll also never forget the recipe! It was delicious In my opinion, this was a perfect experience and I highly highly recommend it. To learn someone's family recipe that has been passed down multiple generations is love.
My husband and I were looking for an authentic experience outside of the city of Bologna. We were picked up on Via Santo Stefano, as well as brought back, which was very convenient as we did not have a car. The cooking class is held about 20 minutes away in the personal home/farm of our hosts, a mother/daughter team. The mother is a certified chef. The surroundings were magnificent - their home was very welcoming and the view of the countryside lovely. They were all ready for us when we arrived with coffee, fruit, and soft drinks. They taught us how to make tagliatelli and tortelloni pasta from scratch, as well as a "summer Bolognese" sauce. We each then tried out our new skills at our individual stations. My husband and I were in the main kitchen and the other 4 people were in the dining room turned classroom. After several hours it was time to eat! Both pastas were served - tagliatelli with the summer Bolognese sauce and the tortelloni with a butter and sage sauce - paired with white and red wines. The lessons were well prepared - the mother spoke in Italian while the daughter translated to English. The kitchen was clean and safety measures were taken. They did a fantastic job teaching the lessons, guiding us through the steps, and letting us create the pasta. Note: there are 5 farm dogs free range on site. Yes, we did know about the dogs when we booked this event. The dogs were quite active and barked a lot at first but they soon calmed down and went about their own business. I am nervous around dogs but I acclimated quickly and the dogs left me alone. The dogs were not a problem at all. It was a wonderful evening of making pasta, getting to know new friends from across the globe, and experiencing an authentic local activity. We highly recommend this event.
This was a wonderful experience with very friendly and accommodating hosts. We were picked up in Bologna and driven out to our host’s beautiful home in the countryside and greeted with coffee and biscuits. We then began the cooking class with Elisabetta and her daughters which was very informative and great fun. Most importantly though we finished the experience with a lovely dinner comprising of the pasta we had made and the accompanying sauces prepared by Elisabetta. A very enjoyable evening in a beautiful setting. Thank you for having us in your home.
Incredible experience! We learned to cook traditional pasta in the home of our chef. The property is up on a hill, about 30 minutes outside of Bologna. They picked us up and took us to their home which was a majestic property. We learned to make two types and pasta with two different sauces while enjoying local wines.
We had the most wonderful time with Flaminia and Elisabetta! They are incredibly kind hosts, the food we made was phenomenal and the setting was very special. Could not recommend this experience more highly - a real highlight of our trip! Thanks again for such a great day.
We are a family who loves private and unique tours while on holiday and this cooking experience at Elizabetta’s farm was one of the most authentic and memorable experiences we would recommend to anyone who wants an evening to learn from a seasoned chef, feel like you are part of their family and eat like a real Bologna local. The experience suits all levels of cooking ability. One of the main reasons this experience caught our eye was that two of our family members have made their own pasta before and are very comfortable in the kitchen while I have never made homemade pasta. We didn’t want a cooking school or anything commercialized but an authentic experience. What we got was beyond our expectations—the cooking tips that even tested our own methods and that we will be changing when we get home..to the special relationship between Flavia (with perfect English) and her mother Elizabetta had us laughing and enjoying the whole night. We felt so honored to be part of this special family and their timeless and delicious recipes , welcoming us into their home and making us feel that we were old friends who knew each other for some time. If you have a chance to go, you don’t want to miss this experience!
From start to finish a delightful experience with a family who share their amazing 17th century home located in the hills outside Bologna along with their culinary expertise and passion. Flaminia’s knowledge of local history combined with chef Elizabetta’s skill as an instructor, delicious traditional recipes, relaxed pace, and delicious wine made for a truly memorable few hours. Highly recommend!!!
Very fun and educational. Highly recommend. Welcoming family to their home. Food was delicious! Would do again
This cooking lesson with our beautiful chefs was one of the absolute highlights of our 3 week tour of Northern Italy focusing on food. We were picked up in town and drove up into the bucolic hills, learned to prepare our own fresh pastas, and ate on a lovely terrace overlooking the countryside. It was a wonderful experience.
Our trip to bologna would not have been the same without this wonderful afternoon with this family. Flaminia gave us an informative tour in route to her home. It was amazing to get outside the city. And her home is a dream! The cooking with her sister, her mother and their 5 friendly dogs was authentic and delicious.
This has been the most memorable experience of our trip. There's so much good to say about this trip that it's hard to know where to start. If you are looking to learn how to make pasta in an authentic way along with patient instructors, look no further. If you are looking to get a taste of what the countryside in Italy is like, along with the company of some lovely dogs, look no further. If you are looking to simply spend time with a wonderful family and exchange culture, ideas and laughs, look no further. If you want a satisfied belly filled with dishes which have been picked by what is currently the freshest in the season, look no further. We just had such a great time, and we can wholeheartedly recommend this experience to anyone else. I'm confident enough in this recommendation to tell you to just book it. Thanks for the amazing experience!
We had a truly perfect time in Ca‘Bianca. The service of collecting us from the meeting point and bringing us back there after the course worked perfectly. We were picked up by the very pleasant daughter of the chef who provided us with interesting facts and history of the city Bologna along the way to the charming house in the countryside. The warm welcoming inside with a homemade cake and tea was a lovely start. In the kitchen we had the opportunity to learn how to make fresh pasta (in our case it was Tagliatelle and Tortelloni) from the inspiring qualified chef Elisabetta with fresh, organic and high quality ingredients. The taste was just delicious and the amount of pasta more than enough. The vine accompanied to the pasta was another nice extra. We can truly recommend the cooking session which felt more like visiting good friends on the countryside then having a lession thanks to the welcoming atmosphere.
What a wonderful day spent with this lovely family. My husband and I brought our son and daughter in law to learn true Italian cooking as all our Italian grandmothers are not with us. Just full of heart, great food, wine and delightful conversation. Stunning setting and a real treat. The pups are sweet and add to a special day. If you’re considering this just do it. Highlight of our trip.
We had such high expectations and were so excited to travel to the food capital of the world to learn how to make authentic pasta and bolognese sauce .. little did we know, however, that we would be warmly escorted by a local family to their hilltop villa that organically values and produces much of the ingredients they use .. to be truly treated as welcomed, family guests in their beautiful home and then step-by-step educated in a hands-on culinary adventure on how to prepare traditional pasta and bolognese .. recipes that we will surely take home and share with our families and friends in the US .. The Mother-Daughter Team of Flaminia and Elizabeth could not have more lovingly and effectively hosted and communicated with us throughout the entire relaxing experience .. we felt their passion for sharing their longstanding family recipes .. step by step they taught us how to replicate them and they then sat us down for dinner in their home, like family, to wine and dine on our efforts. THANK YOU FLAMINIA AND ELIZABETH! WE will remember you forever and are so grateful. XO
This was such a wonderful experience! The food was delicious and the setting was absolutely perfect. We learned a lot about the region and the art of pasta making. Highly recommend!
This was the highlight of our time in Bologna. We got to learn how to make pasta in the chef’s kitchen in her countryside home, a 1600 era historic building occupied by the 3rd generation in her family. The weather was perfect so we enjoyed the fruits of our labor on the backyard patio overlooking the incredible view of the valley. The chef and her daughter were so welcoming and warm we left feeling like we were leaving family. ❤️
My father and my daughter learned how to make tortelloni! We all had a wonderful time at the farm, which is in a gorgeous locale. What a warm, welcoming family who really knows their food. It was so rewarding to learn how to make a real Bolognese sauce from such a talented mother/daughter duo.
What a wonderful experience! We were warmly welcomed with fresh apricot juice made from the farm’s fruit trees, ricotta cake and of course an espresso. Not only did we learn all about making two kinds of pastas and sauces, we experienced cooking in the chef’s personal kitchen. We got to enjoy the fruits of our labor on the backyard patio overlooking the breathtaking view of the valley. If you are looking for something special to do in Bologna and learn about the cuisine and culture in a 1600 year stone residence, this is the cooking class for you!
We had an amazing experience in the beautiful countryside. Mother Daughter duo were wonderful hostesses. Transport to and from city center was easy. Would highly recommend this experience.
This was a perfect way to spend a beautiful afternoon. The family was so engaging. The setting was stunning. The food was delicious. We will recommend this to everyone visiting the Bologna area.
Absolutely fantastic cooking class! My husband, sister, and I all thoroughly enjoyed being welcomed into an Italian kitchen to learn the art of making pasta.
Perfecto! The picturesque hillside setting, hospitable and knowledgeable hosts and the delicious meal we cooked made this cooking experience a highlight of our Bologna trip.
I had chosen instead of dinner to do this course for my birthday as I truly wanted to cook while in Bologna and it was great. I cannot wait to use the recipes we were given to recreate the dishes at home as well as take the basic skills we have learned and apply them to further pasta and cooking skills. The hosts were warm and helpful, even making me a birthday cake which was incredible. Some cooking courses are large group where you walk away proud but not informed on a personal level and this was small enough that we were given individualized help and conversations about cultural differences or our lives. Highly recommend to anyone who wishes to learn to make pasta or traditional bolognese recipes.
Wow what an incredible experience!! We felt very welcome and so relaxed , great to share in the fun of learning to make homemade pasta and be hands on , felt like part of the family. We loved the dogs especially as we were missing our own!!! Can’t recommend highly enough, 10/10!!! We’ll definitely come again in the future!!! Make sure you don’t eat beforehand as the portions are extremely generous!!! Colette & Steven Newman
Highly recommend , we enjoyed everything about this experience. The host and her mother(the chef) were friendly and made you feel like you were invited to a friends house. There were 7 of us and we all participated in making the pasta. We ate dinner with good wine on the balcony at their country home. The view was wonderful.
The hospitality and setting were very memorable. And I can now make my own Italian pasta with confidence.
100/10 would recommend this to anyone who goes to Bologna. Upon getting picked up, we were driven by Flaminia to their house on the hills. While on the way, we chatted about some Bolognese history and we actually learned quite a bit. Once we got to the house, we were greeted by cold drinks (super appreciated because of the heat) + coffee, and we walked around their garden. Oh, there are also a bunch of cute doggies! Once the activity began, we were carefully guided throughout the process. My husband typically asks a lot of questions, and all were answered patiently haha. After the whole process, we were offered wine and homemade tea, which we enjoyed with the two pasta dishes we created. It was a truly a wonderful experience and we would recommend this to anyone considering!
What an incredible experience! When I met the car on a corner of Bologna, I had no idea what to expect. We drove about 20 minutes out of the city to a picturesque hillside home. There, we gathered as new friends and made a delicious meal. We made fresh pasta, rolling our classic tortellini by hand. We also made a traditional cookie filled with homemade jam. The family is a delight, and they have created such a warm and authentic learning space. I can't recommend this highly enough!
We had the most wonderful day! First, The personal property outside the city was beautiful. We were made so welcome! We felt like family friends! The lesson was so interesting and fun. And then the icing on the cake was sharing a meal (that we made) with our new group of friends from around the world! We have spent a month in Italy and this has been one of the highlights of the trip! I highly recommend it!!! Would do it again!! It was an activity the entire family enjoyed! I wish I could have had several DAYS of lessons!!!
The very best way to live an Italian experience is through food! This private cooking class took place on an organic farm in a 17th century estate in the quiet and gorgeous countryside hills of Bologna. The experience offered us the opportunity to take a traditional Bolognese cooking lesson (recipe and techniques generations old) and enjoy the fruits of our labor. Being in the home of this talented chef and her adoring daughter, we met new friends and fell in love with all the rescue pups. Magical. Truly unforgettable. Grazie, Flaminia and Chef Elizabetta. We will never forget this day. #tagliatellealragù #tortelloni
Amazing family that hosts this cooking class in their lovely hillside home. Other than learning how to make (and eat!) amazing pasta, we also enjoyed learning about the local history and experiencing the local culture.
We had a great time! I’m so excited to go home and make my own pasta! The meal was the best tasting meal we had in Italy! We highly recommend this experience!
A wonderful experience with Elisabetta and Flavia (hopefully spelled the names correctly). A very fun, informative experience in an authentic Italian country setting. And yes, we enjoyed the dogs as part of the experience. My especially enjoyed learning the reasons behind the cooking methods learned from her Italian grandparents. Highly recommended!
This was a good cooking class if you want to learn how to make and form tortelloni. The hosts were very friendly and they taught you some specifics for their traditional pasta and sauce. You make the pasta fresh and stuff them. I would have liked to have been able to make the sauce and filling. Here you watch the cook do these things. The experience would have been better if some of us cut the herbs, mixed the meat sauce and made the stuffing.
Wow, did we enjoy this experience! All four in our party have Italian roots and we thoroughly enjoyed making pasta and amazing Bolognese Ragu from scratch. Its not as easy at you think, so to get expert instruction go to this class.
What a great experience! The family picked us up at a convenient location in Old Town and drove us to their 17th century estate in the rolling hills of the Bologna countryside. Beautiful views. The Chef walked us through hand making and rolling a traditional pasta dish and simple dessert which become the team dinner at the end of the day. A little sight seeing, a little culture, a glimpse into Italian family life, and a lot of fun!
We visited Ca’Bianca B&B, stayed for four nights at the B&B and took a cooking class with Elizabetta and Flavia! Flaminia helped to ensure we were settled in and comfortable at the B&B, and it was all amazing! The cooking class was great, We had the opportunity to make tortellini with spinach and fresh ricotta, as well as learning to make Italian cake with two choices of filling. It’s the first time I’ve made a cake crust without a bowl, and I’m using that technique from here on out! Plenty of food for everyone, we were offered seconds and thirds!! Also, it was a very hands on class. We got to make our own dough, roll it, and cut and fill the pasta shapes! I am still impressed we all made edible pasta with a rolling pin! I know that Chef Elizabetta will tailor lessons to people’s needs - she hosted a chef from America for a week who took private lessons on pasta making specifically. Generally they are cooking dishes seasonally, they have a beautiful herb garden where elements for the recipes come from, and there’s wine and a lovely patio to enjoy during small breaks in the class. It’s a great experience! Just in case you’re looking for somewhere to stay, we enjoyed the clean, spacious and well appointed room as well! Our favorite stay of the trip! Breakfast at the B&B was tailored to our needs, varied from day to day, and was available for us to enjoy at a time that worked for us. Also the ladies of the house were incredibly helpful and accommodating - they suggested restaurants and things to do, and chatted with us - really helping us to feel at home. They even drove another guest to an event to help them! So kind!!! The views from the B&B grounds are stunning - I would never tire of seeing the beautiful rolling hills and other towns off in the distance. Go! Do it! You’ll love it!
An experience that I'll never forget! The lesson was such a warm and personal experience, unlike larger tour bus tours that tourists so often choose. The chef and her daughters were so kind and welcoming. They really sought to create a fun, relaxing atmosphere while also being educational. I highly recommend this class for anyone who loves to cook and learn about local dishes when traveling. The small group allowed you to get individual attention when learning which was fantastic. The home was surrounded by beautiful rolling hills and the house itself was so charming. My wife and I will cherish the memory of the lesson and our time spent with the family.
