Antonio's handmade pasta lesson was, for me, perfect. It happened to be a solo lesson. I learnt all that I wanted to learn, and much, much more. We made the pasta from scratch, as well as the ragu and classic filling for tortelloni, with ricotta, to be dressed with butter and sage. Antonio was the perfect host, consummately professional guide, deeply experienced and great company. I was admonished for my previous use of garlic, but very courteously! All communication before and after was prompt and clear. We finished the lesson with tasting, of course, with wine. It was a great three hours, and I shall be putting everything I learnt in practice ..... including less garlic! Thank you, Antonio.

Chef Antonio makes you feel at home and is a wealth of knowledge. Highly recommend!
This class was very fun and very informative. My husband and I had a great time and ended up staying later for the fun conversation. .
Fun, informative cooking experience in Bologna! Easy to find near the Bologna central train station.
Fantastic experience, Chef Antonio give us quite an experience and we got more then expected, highly recommend. The ragu was amazing
Antonio was a great instructor, extremely knowledgeable, truly a professionally trained chef. Gave hands on instructions as we performed the tasks. Learned useful techniques and cooking skills. Tremendously enjoyed the experience with a well versed chef and individual.
Best Ragu I’ve ever tasted! The homemade pasta was amazing as well! Would definitely recommend this experience.
If you do one thing in Bologna - make it this! Antonio was fantastic, we truly had the best time and learnt so much! He was so welcoming, funny and friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we had the best day. Thank you Antonio!
This was the highlight of our trip to Bologna! A definite must-have experience, and you get to take recipes home to share with family and friends!! Chef Antonio was so kind, welcoming and funny. He taught us patiently and answered all of our questions. He is a wealth of knowledge. We had a magnificent time and we cannot wait to try these recipes at home!! Total it took us 3 1/2 hours ish, which was absolutely worth the money. Like others said, it is a great view into the apartment living in Bologna. Great for couples, solo, or even a group of 4! A memory to never forget!
Antonio was very warm and welcoming. This was an excellent experience and we learned a lot about pasta and the absolutely incredible homemade Bolognese meat sauce, which was the best bolognese sauce we ever had. This was a highlight of our trip to Bologna.
Antonio's cooking class was a wonderful experience! He shared so many helpful tips and techniques, and his passion for cooking made the class both fun and inspiring. I left with new skills, great memories, and a real appreciation for making authentic ragù. I highly recommend this class to anyone looking for a genuine hands-on experience with a true chef.
Wonderful experience with Chef Antonio. He was extremely welcoming and kind. We travelled as a family with children ages 18 and 13. Our kids had a great time making the pasta.
We had a wonderful experience learning to make traditional Bolognese and fresh pasta with our professional chef, Antonio. It was an authentic, hands-on class that gave us a true appreciation for the techniques and traditions behind the recipes for homemade tagliatelle, tortoloni and Ragu sauce. Antonio was friendly, entertaining, and immediately made us feel welcome and at home. The setting is a private home, so the cooking space is cozy and intimate, which adds to the authenticity of the experience. We appreciated the thorough instruction, personal attention, and the opportunity to enjoy a home-cooked meal together. If you're looking for a genuine taste of Bologna and want to learn from a passionate local, this class is a great choice. Highly recommended!
We did this class with Antonio on our last day in Bologna. What a humble, charming, funny man Antonio is. He has an absolute heart of gold, with a simple, no nonsense teaching style that is both effective and easy to follow. We had such a great time talking with him, sharing experiences whilst we rolled pasta or diced vegetables. He is so incredibly well read and travelled, he could have a conversation with anyone. He taught us how to make a traditional ragu which was simply sensational, and a wonderfully tasty tortelloni, combined with excellent fresh pasta. He sent us the recipes whilst we ate, and we will absolutely be giving these a try when we get the chance. Please do this experience with this real gentleman - it is worth every penny and more. Grazie Mille Antonio!
I rarely write reviews, but after spending an afternoon with Antonio I'm breaking that tradition to implore you to book some time with him in the kitchen. An amazing chef, teacher, storyteller, historian, comedian and human. Absolutely the highlight of our trip!
Loved learning from Chef Antonio. He is knowledgeable, passionate about pasta making, and very funny. This was a highlight of our trip, a beautiful afternoon with a delicious, satisfying ending. ***very important, if you have any allergies or food intolerances, inform Antonio beforehand, so that adjustments are made. His "lab" is cute, quaint, and offers a glimpse into Bologna apartment living. Very cozy.
Super fun! Learned a lot. Antonio was very kind, funny, nice, and helpful. It was just my partner and I, so only 2 people. It's a small kitchen, so not sure about larger groups. You're in an apartment. I like the neighborhood. Cool part of town that has an artsy vibe. Enjoyed walking around after the class. It was 4hrs, which includes eating. Located in a walk up building. He might be on the 4th floor?
One of my favorite experienced in Bologna. You have a personalized class with a chef that owned a local restaurant. You're taught everything from creating a ragu to building dough (properly) to rolling and cutting for parpadelle. You even create a few tortollinos for a second helping of food. It was amazing and the chef was the best part. He was a genuine great guy who i had a wonderful chat with me about MLB baseball. Highly recommend for foodies. Learnign chefs. And jus those that want to enjoy a dofferent side of cuisine.
Enjoyed this experience in a traditional Italian kitchen. Antonio was really friendly and made us feel very welcome.
Antonio was an absolute delight. Not only a talented professional chef, but so friendly and personable. My brother and I went together and we had a fabulous time with Antonio. We will definitely be visiting him again on our next visit to Italy. The recipes we made were absolutely delicious and we’re very happy to bring the recipes home with us to share with our family and friends. Highly recommend.
Antonio was great in every interaction, from before the class he messaged to introduce himself and provided clear instruction on what we would be cooking and helpful instructions to get to his place. You can tell Antonio has a love for cooking as his enthusiasm and storytelling make you laugh and demonstrate his passion for his role. Thank you for an amazing class.
The food was delicious and Antonio was a wonderful host! Antonio was very knowledgable, and friendly, had lots of interesting stories to share, and gave us tips for our time in Bologna. Thank you for a wonderful, memorable evening Antonio! We're looking forward to recreating the recipes when we get home.
We loved our class with Antonio! He taught us a lot about pasta and ragù and was an entertaining and informative teacher. He is so warm and friendly. If you are considering taking a pastas-making class in Bologna, DO NOT miss this class with Antonio!! We highly recommend him. Our time with Antonio was the highlight of our stay in Bologna.
Excellent few hours in the company of Antonio. We made a ragu for the tagliatelle that we made and a butter sauce for the tortelloni. Would say the main exercise was making the 2 pastas from scratch. Loads of helpful hints on the way before tucking in with a bottle of wine at the end. Apart from the food aspect Antonio is an interesting and knowledgeable guy to chat to. We went way over the alloted time. Was about a 20 minutes walk from heart of Bologna. Would recommend no problem.
Good Wine, Best Food and Gentle Cook. Was a fabulous Evening. We learned much about the Italien cooking
As you muddle through the vast array of cooking classes feeling unsure about which is the best choice. If they all sound the same and what you are looking for is not only a cooking class but a true Italian experience you are in the right place. This is NOT your typical cooking class! Antonio is far from typical. My daughter and I left knowing that this was a tour we would never forget. We have been on several tours in Italy that were truly amazing and Italy has some amazing things to experience but none that compared to meeting and working with Antonio! It was the best and most unforgettable time we have had in Italy. And Antonio is not forgettable or typical. He is exuberant, warm, kind, eccentric, passionate, emotional, complimentary, humourous, compassionate, very Italian and man can be cook! He's truly a master chef and as we enjoyed sipping some wonderful Italian wine we got a real education in cooking and preparing Italian food. His surroundings of his humble kitchen don't feel perfect or sterile. They feel like a place where he surrounds himself with little things that he loves that makes one feel at home. And the thing he obviously loves the most is the art of cooking. The Ragu he taught is to make is like experiencing an explosion of flavors in your mouth. Fireworks with each color representing a different taste all coming together to make what my daughter and I considered to be the best Ragu we had ever tasted. He encouraged us when creating the filling for the tortellini to add our own personal essence to the flavour to make it personally our own. More Parmesan? More salt? He was patient, encouraging and kind as we learned the fine art of making the hand made pasta which certainly was not as simple as throwing some eggs into flour and getting this perfect dough. To get the pasta to be the perfect texture it took work and technique that clearly must be practiced over time. We laughed, we worked, we chatted, and my daughter and I truly felt we got to know this wonderful man, Antonio and he was the best part of the experience. And this was not just a class. It was an experience and one we will never forget because to meet Antonio is to love Antonio and he will leave his impression on your heart. We feel that during this little class we have truly experienced Italy in the best possible way! Antonio thank you for the wonderful time and wonderful learning experience. Our family will adore us when we go home and cook this amazing meal for them. You are priceless and from here on out will always be considered a friend.
We were immediately welcomed super friendly at Antonio's home! He taught us how to make tagliatelle with ragù and tortelloni "from scratch" and it was delicious! We were allowed to try everything ourselves and immediately received tips on how we could do it better. Antonio was a real gem, he gave a lot of compliments, we were allowed to drink as much and as many as we wanted, he gladly gave us a second portion, ... Later we got the recipes and a personal tip for a restaurant (after I said I'm crazy about eggplant). We could also send him the next day for tips on where to eat and which regional products we definitely had to try. Everything is completely "tailor-made": not only the personal restaurant tips, but also for example the mix between Italian and English because my cousin doesn't speak Italian but I wanted to practice the language. Thanks to our conversations, I learned not only a lot about Italian cuisine, but also about Italy itself and the Italian language. Conclusion: we had a fantastic time with Antonio and learned so much! Don't hesitate and book this workshop!!!
An extraordinary experience! Not only did we learn how to cook ragu bolognese, tortelloni and tagliatelle, with all the little tips and tricks of Antonio but we feasted and spent an incredible time in the company of Antonio who is a colorful character, a very funny storyteller, a real well of knowledge in cooking, in history. We highly recommend!
