The class was very fun. Maurizio what’s an excellent instructor and chef. The class was in his own home which was a real treat and intimate experience.. I would highly recommend this class.

It was an amazing experience! MAURIZIO was an excellent host and chef. He made the whole class so fun. He explained all the cooking procedures with knowledge and enthusiasm. I would highly recommend this cooking class in Bologna.
Joining Roberta in her lovely home to make pasta, ragu and tiramisu was one of the highlights of our trip to Italy. Roberta is a fantastic teacher and absolutely lovely hostess. I can't wait to try her recipes at home. Do not hesitate to take a class with her.
If you take one pasta class in Bologna, take Olga's classes. She is not your average home cook. As a professionally trained chef, she has the expertise and passion to teach you all about the making of fresh Bolognese pasta. I made 3 pasta shapes with Olga. It was an eye-opener how technical, yet at the same time, how artful pasta making is. Highly recommend Olga. I would take the class again and again 🍝
We had the most wonderful experience with Rosa in her beautiful home! She was so warm and engaging and shared wonderful stories with us as she taught us all of her traditional pasta making skills. We were thrilled to make 2 types of tortellini and tagliatelle bolognese. It was truly the highlight of our trip to Bologna and if we ever came back, we would definitely sign up for another lesson with Rosa again! It felt like cooking with family!
We had a wonderful evening and our host Luca was patient, attentative ans encouraging. We really enjoyed eating our freshly made pasta and tiramisu and highly recommend this experience!
Made 3 types of pastas. Our host was amazing!!! Can’t wait to share our skills at home with the family. Will be friends with our host forever!
Roberta was completely incredible. This is a MUST-DO experience while visiting Bologna! This was a highlight of our trip for sure!
It was a great experience. Olga is knowledgeable, not only about the local food, but also about traditions and history in general. We made tortelloni, tagliatelle and tiramisu. The entire group that night was 5 people, two couples and one single. I would highly recommend this experience to others.
fantastic experience -- Paolo was so fun, and we learned so much. two minor things: sure would be good to have wine offered upon arrival (rather than waiting two hours until we ate). and -- my wife was sick and couldn't join us. I started trying to make a modification 24 hours out, but the app was not cooperating. at 22 hours out I called back to the US to speak to customer service. no exception was made, and we had to pay for someone who wasn't able to attend, even though we made our best attempt to process the change (yes, I understand that the rules say it's fully refundable until 24 hours out). Sure doesn't seem that Cesarine would want us to have a sick person spend three hours in their host's home.
Mauricio was awesome! He made us feel very welcome in his home. It was a great experience and the food we prepared was delicious! Would highly recommend.
Maurizio was incredibly welcoming, informative, and entertaining. We had a great time learning how to make 3 kinds of pasta which Maurizio then expertly cooked and served us alongside homemade sauces - delicious! He was very accommodating with dietary requirements. We enjoyed hearing his family stories about pasta making, and being accompanied by his cat and dog!
Luca was a great host! Made pasta making easy and fun. Also did an incredible job bringing the pasta to life with distinct dishes for each of the pastas we made. Highly recommend.
Mauricio and his partner (their pup and cat too) were extremely welcoming in their beautiful home. They were very informative and thoughtful. We loved learning about how their family recipes differ. We also loved the wine selection. Importantly, Mauricio took care to accommodate my food allergy and all the food was amazing. We highly recommend for couples, friends and groups.
Very welcoming & knowledgeable! Great Wine and food! Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to learn true Italian home cooking!
Luca was a gracious and experienced host who welcomed us warmly amd communicated clearly with non-Italian speaking older couple.
Roberta was excellent. She taught us the real Italian way with the long past Italian tips and techniques that I have been looking for.
Olga is amazing. So calm and knowledgeable. I loved the personal approach and the little tips to make the pasta so light and delicate. Highly recommend this if you’re interested in food.
We did this the second day in to determine where we would eat etc. and it did the job, showed us Old Towne, great tour guide, very small group, great food stops, and we were able to taste Bologna.
Simply fantastic! The hosts were excellent making our cooking class experience memorable. I can’t thank the hosts enough for their welcoming & guidance.
What a great experience! Anyone looking for something totally different and fun don't hesitate, just book! Luca was so friendly and welcoming throughout the cooking class. He explained everything step by step and then shared the lunch we made together.
We had the best time. Mauricio was an incredible host. The kids especially loved his soccer playing chihuahua. The food was incredible. We highly recommend this experience.
Claudia was a wonderful host, and exceptional teacher. She made sure I understood the value of measuring, the type of flour and eggs that are best to use. I learned what dough should look and feel like when preparing and rolling it out. That is what makes the difference in the success of your pasta. We made two different fillings, but the fun part was filling and shaping the tortellini, tortelli and more. She made time to show me the different instruments and how they effect the shape a texture of the pasta. It was so fun!
My adult daughter and I had a wonderful private cooking class and dinner with Roberta G at her lovely home in Bologna, a short taxi ride from our hotel. With a professional home kitchen, culinary skills and patience she taught us how to make (from flour and eggs) torteloni, tagliatelle and bowtie pasta. We also enjoyed wine, appetizers, parmegiana cheese and dessert with our delicious homemade pasta. I highly recommend this activity.
We had an incredible experience cooking pasta with Luca. It was me, my husband and our 3.5 year old daughter. All of us had a blast and we learned so much! Luca was an incredible teacher and taught us how to make delicious pasta literally from scratch. We made 3 different kinds. After cooking Luca kindly prepared the pasta for us in 3 different styles which were all fantastic. Our daughter demolished it in seconds. We all had an amazing time and a great meal in a home setting. Definitely a unique activity for a family when on travel
Words can't fully describe what an incredible experience our family [my husband, myself and our two children, ages 15 and 9] had cooking and connecting with Rosa on our recent trip to Bologna. This meal was truly a highlight of our entire vacation. Rosa was so welcoming and kind, and made us feel like family the moment we arrived at her home. We prepared several dishes together including bruschetta, lasagna and tagliatelle with ragu - she broke down each recipe step-by-step and made it very easy and accessible for each of us. What a joy to watch my teenage son rolling the tagliatelle pasta like a pro! We shared wine, stories and laughs throughout the evening - it was an instant connection, truly like visiting an old friend.
I searched online for in-person classes in Naples and found this company listed as offering a local class. Based on the information provided on their website, we booked a same-day class and received a confirmation. We then spent $40 on a taxi to the listed location, only to be told by the security guard that no business by that name operated there and that nothing was open at that location. We had no choice but to spend another $40 on a taxi back into town. After investigating further, we discovered that the class we had been booked for was actually located approximately seven hours away. The website was misleading and gave the impression that the class was being held locally in Naples. I contacted the company multiple times, explained the situation, and requested a refund based on the inaccurate and misleading information on their website. Considering the class was booked the same day and the error stemmed from how the location was advertised, I believed a refund was a reasonable request. Instead, the company refused to take responsibility, declined to issue a refund, and ultimately stopped responding to my attempts to resolve the matter. This experience was extremely disappointing. Not only did we lose the $420 cost of the class, but we also incurred an additional $80 in unnecessary transportation expenses due to the misleading location information. I cannot recommend this company based on its deceptive advertising and poor customer service. A reputable business should stand behind the accuracy of its listings and work with customers to resolve issues fairly rather than refusing accountability and ignoring legitimate concerns.
This was an amazing experience! I really enjoyed the class and learned so much. This instructor was extremely knowledgeable and very kind. It was one of the highlights of my trip and the pasta was sooo good! Better than the restaurants even! I’m planning to make pasta for my family once I get home from my trip. My kids all got to taste some from the class and loved it.
It was incredibly special to be welcomed to Laura's home. We truly appreciated the opportunity to get to know her and her son, to learn and ask questions, and engage in a cultural exchange through cooking!
We spent a fabulous, fun and delicious day with our amazing hosts Silvia and Marco Donatini on the outskirts of Bologna and couldn't recommend them more highly! Silvia was endlessly patient with our enthusiastic but fumbled attempts at creating our pasta and Marco was our fabulously ebullient host! Three delicious pastas made lovingly by hand before we sat under an outdoor pergola with wine and sunshine to enjoy the fruits of our labour. Genuinely hard to go past as a fun experience! Our sincere thanks to Silvia and Marco for opening their home to us! A real highlight of our time in Bologna!
Eleonora and Federico were fantastic hosts and incredibly welcoming to their home! My wife and I had an amazing time and learned so much. This was easily one of the best parts of our trip!
We loved this experience! Being invited into our host Roberta’s home was something we haven’t experienced elsewhere. She was a warm host and guided us through making some great pasta which we ate with some beautiful sauces and wine. Would recommend to foodies and beginner cooks alike!
We had a wonderful time at the Pasta Making Course with Rosa. She was only a 20 minute walk from the Old City. Rosa was bubbly, friendly and makes delicious pasta. She also was very caring taking the time to purchase lactose free cheese and guiding us to make dairy free tortellonies and tiramisu. I highly recommend doing this experience.
The listed meeting place on the via tour app was not the meeting place for our booking. In the chaos of travel, managing family, elders and heat I didn’t notice a third “your event is coming up” email had been sent with the actual meeting place. The morning of I checked Viator and screen shotted our meeting place. Unfortunately was not correct and no hint on there that the information was somewhere else - 40 minute walk away and no cars/Ubers available. After messaging with our specific tour guide/cesarine - she had offered to wait up to an hour for us to be late but would have to adjust what we would make. My elevator parents were so hot/tired/frustrated that they canceled. I fully appreciate the cesarine for offering to wait but traveling 40 minutes in the heat was not possible. Viator should change the way they provide this information or BOOK DIRECT, not through Viator.
We had a wonderful time with Rosa. A really lovely experience to round off our time in Bologna
This was one of the highlights of our two week trip to Italy. We made the best homemade pasta, yes, but really experienced the Bolognese way of life, and felt like part of the family. You will learn from the very best, and Cesarine is an expert at guiding guests of all ages through the process.
We wanted an authentic Italian cooking lesson, and this exceeded our expectations! The class was very well organized and we learned so much! We made so many different pastas and several sauces.
Lucia was a wonderful host and a very patient instructor! She went above and beyond our expectations! I highly recommend taking her class!
We had the most wonderful experience today with Laura and her son Antonio! They welcomed me, my wife, and our 18 year old daughter into their house for our cooking class. They were so nice and friendly, we immediately felt like we were visiting with family. Laura had everything prepared for the 3 of us to start making the pasta. She explained the 3 different pastas we would be making and then showed us how to make each one. We had a great time chatting with her and her son Antonio. They would give us helpful tips and show us tricks to make the different pastas. Once we made all the pasta, we sat out on the terrace and continued chatting with Antonio while Laura boiled the pasta. She served us 1 pasta at a time and we had wine to go with the meal. After eating all 3 pastas, she brought out a surprise ice cream desert, and then coffee. We loved everything about the experience! My wife said this was her favorite thing we've done so far on our vacation. If you would love to get to experience making handmade pasta in a real Italian's home, nothing fancy, nothing pretentious, just real life, good people, then this is the experience for you. You will be overwhelmed by their hospitality. This is a 10 out of 10 experience for me and my family. I also forgot to mention that the food was AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS!

We had an amazing experience with Anna Marie, our Cesarine hostess and instructor. She was friendly, witty and very patient with our total unfamiliarity with real Italian pasta and Italian cooking. It was fun, educational, and most of all delicious! The meal, company, and conversation were all very enjoyable. We would highly recommend Cesarine and especially Anna Marie.
Our family spent the evening with Laura and her son Antonio, and truly we felt like we joined their family. Our experience was absolutely incredible. We made three different types of pasta - tortelloni, farfalle, and tagliatelle (which had unsweetened cocoa in the flour). Laura and Antonio were exceptionally welcoming and walked us through the whole process. They were very clear with instructions and took ample time to demonstrate the techniques. After making all of the pastas, Laura expertly cooked each course to perfection. Laura and Antonio sat down to dinner with us and enjoyed the meal with us over a bottle of wine. It made for excellent conversation and a great way to share cultures. Laura even prepared a special dessert for us! She provided all of the recipes, with the expectation that we of course would make pasta at home, and send her photos of our labor! From the moment we arrived, they clearly did everything to ensure that our experience matched our expectations. We strongly and highly recommend booking with Laura!!
This class was beyond incredible! Federico was so kind and patient and explained everything perfectly. We got to eat our handmade pasta in the garden and it made for the perfect event in Bologna. I would highly recommend this class to anyone interested.
Annamaria was great. She showed us how to make 3 different pasta dishes. Also, eating dinner at her house was a very unique experience. We made a couple of new friends. One of our best vacation experiences ever.
This was a wonderful and memorable experience. We had our private class at Maurizio's home and it was a great experience. We learned how to make three different types of pasta. Maurizio took the time to teach us, had helpful hints and was always willing to answer any questions we had. Conversation was so easy with him. He made us feel right at home. It was also so nice to dine on his lovely terrace and enjoy the food we made along with a glass of wine. It's a day my family and I will always remember. Thanks Maurizio!!
We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Chef Oriana through Cesaraine in Bologna. From the moment we arrived at her home, we felt welcomed like family. The setting itself was amazing, intimate, and authentic—exactly what you hope for when looking to truly experience Italian culture. Chef Oriana is not only incredibly knowledgeable, but also warm, patient, and passionate about her craft. She guided us step-by-step through the process of making fresh pasta from scratch, making it both approachable and fun. Her explanations were clear and engaging, and she shared not just techniques, but also the traditions and history behind the dishes. While waiting for our fresh pasta to rise, we were treated to a lovely selection of antipasti personally made by Chef Oriana which included her own garden grown vegetables. Delicious! Various cheeses, special balsamic vinegar (complete with instructions when to add to our food) were also included. All were accompanied by local red and white wine for pairing. Her Bolognese sauce, that was added to our dish was a highlight—it’s clear she takes great pride in doing things the traditional way and passing that knowledge on us. The hands-on experience gave us a real appreciation for the care and skill that goes into authentic Italian cooking. The entire experience felt personal, relaxed, and genuine. Sitting down afterward to enjoy the meal we created together was incredibly rewarding—and delicious! If you are visiting Bologna and want something truly memorable beyond restaurants and sightseeing, this is a must-do. Chef Oriana created an experience we’ll remember for a long time. Thank you very much Oriana, it was a highlight to our Italian holiday. Cin cin!
This was one of the highlights of our 3 week trip to Italy. We absolutely loved getting to learn how to make 3 different pastas and getting to try them all cooked differently. Laura was an amazing host, sharing wine, giving us an education in what Italians like to listen to on the radio and the real treat was getting to meet her 2 sons. Lauras home is in this beautiful residential part of Bologna. We walked from the town center and had a lovely stroll. I highly recommend this experience if you are looking for an authentic, private cooking class. Super romantic!!
Very nice experience, with a lovely family
Laura and her family really made this a very enjoyable experience. We had so much fun making different types of pasta and then sitting down to eat together. 10/10
What an experience! This class far exceeded my expectations. Roberta was absolutely FANTASTIC. So inviting, warm, patient, caring and just so much fun. We had a GREAT time. And she made the pasta making so easy to grasp. Roberta went well beyond what the outline of the program even said. In addition to our 3 pastas and the tiramisu we made, Roberta had made her own homemade gelato that morning and shared with us, including a delicious black cherry topping from her own home. She also had some leftover Bolognese sauce in her refrigerator that she let us try as well. Just such a great experience in such a beautiful home Kitchen. It truly just felt like being with family in your Nonna's kitchen. I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Bologna who loves pasta. To my surprise, it did not feel like a touristy activity at all. Felt very genuine. Thanks again Roberta for the awesome experience.
