My dad and I had such a wonderful time at this pasta-making class in Bologna! Simon was a wonderful host, brilliant at what he does, and made the experience so special. It was a fun, memorable experience to share together and one of the highlights of our trip. Highly recommend!

Luca was absolutely wonderful. Warm, welcoming, kind, patient. We thoroughly enjoyed this experience!
Paola was a wonderful. She welcomed us into her home and taught us how to make tagliatelle, tortelloni and tiramisu. She is very skilled and knowledgeable and had many interesting facts to share with us. We ate outside on her patio with a glass of wine. The food was amazing and I am looking forward to recreating the recipes when I return home. I highly recommend this!
What wonderful and warm experience. Anna Maria was amazing and a great teacher. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a unique experience.
Intimate setting in a locals house. Chef was so welcoming and friendly. The house was amazing and food was delicious. It was fun talking to somebody local to learn about the city, culture, and country.
We had a wonderful time! It was fun, delicious food, we can't wait to do it again!
It was amazing to learn from a local. He was so informative and I now have amazing recipes to recreate at home. Would definitely recommend!!
Rosa was amazing. She was a great teacher and very funny! The food we made was delicious (tagliatelle, tortelloni and tiramisu). We had the most amazing time.
Federica was an amazing teacher and guide for this class! Alongside my teenager, I learned how to make multiple pastas and sauces, coached by Federica's deep expertise! This was all done in her beautiful home with a stunning view over the city. It was our favorite time on our trip, and made delicious lasting memories! I highly recommend a class with her!
It was great! Lots of great info, cooking suggestions, equipment suggestions, etc. Loved it a lot! 😁
My husband and I had the best time learning from Simon and the food was so tasty! Was a nice change to be cooking and eating at a home rather than a restaurant. Highly recommend taking this class as part of your Bologna visit!
Frederica was amazing. She was very authentic and welcoming and we had one of the highlights of our vacation. We were amazed that we could produce dishes that tasted so good !
I’m a little late with my review! We did the pasta making class on 7/22/25. Roberta was AMAZING! She was a fantastic host and teacher! We highly recommend!!
We had a truly excellent lesson with Roberta at her lovely home in Bologna. My partner and I enjoyed it immensely. Roberta was extremely knowledgeable and good fun. We will be back (and working on our pasta making in the interim)!
Our group of five had a wonderful experience with Laura and her son Antonio. They were very gracious even though we were late. The instruction and food were excellent.
We had a wonderful evening with Oriana making pasta and tiramisu. She is delightful as a teacher and a lovely companion at dinner. The table setting and presentation of foods were beautiful. The food was delicious. An outstanding experience! Highly recommend.
It was great to learn how to make pasta from Lisa. She was very welcoming and knowledgeable. She's also going to send us the recipes we made and ate during our class. We are excited to try it at home because it was delicious making it here.
We booked a pasta and tiramisu class through your company, however when we arrived our hostess instructed us that we were making lasagne. 2 other travellers also joining the group were also expecting the pasta and tiramisu class. On contacting Cesarine we were told that we had signed up for the lasagne class - it was worded in small print under the Pasta and Tiramisu heading. Very misleading! We have nothing but praise for our hostess Olga, who was patient and kind with us. Thank you for a lovely lunch!
Our family of 4 had the most wonderful time with our Teacher AnnaMaria. She is a fantastic, very patient and kind. Her food is delicious and we feel so grateful to have had the experience. Her class was hosted outside on a balcony in the most beautiful environment. Thank you to Annamaria for her great teaching!
Cesarine advertized a 3 hour class, 2 pastas and tiramisu for $99/person (We were 2 people - $198 total). As such, I planned my travel schedule around approximately 3 hours. This was a completely false, misleading timeline. Once we reached the home of our local cooking instructor (who was fantastic by the way… and completely understood our situation and felt terrible about what Cesarine communicated to us and to her: two different sets of information by the way), we were told that 3 hours was not enough time to complete all of this. Our instructor was communicated a completely different schedule as well... she was told to only prepare 1 pasta… She even stated that it was impossible to complete the class she was expecting in the allotted time. I have NO complaints about my instructor, to be clear. This poor review is aimed entirely towards Cesarine, their poor communication, false advertising, and unprofessional attitudes. Our cooking instructor, Laura, took some photos of our reservation and messaged Cesarine to communicate their error. We received nothing back from them. Completely unprofessional. I would like 50% of my money refunded to me, the portion that Cesarine takes… I have every screenshot a receipt showing I paid for a cooking class including 2 pastas and a tiramisu preparation. We barely finished 1 pasta in the allotted 3hr timeline (and that’s because Laura had the foreknowledge to prepare much of it ahead of time, or else we would not have completed that either). If it were not for Laura, this would have been a completely disaster. I would not book again with such a disorganized group that will not even reach out to acknowledge their mistake and misleading advertisements. I’d sooner reach out to Laura directly and pay her the entire sum. I gave Laura a hefty tip in the event that my desire for a refund would cause Cesarine to relative against her (I surely hope not…). I would advise anyone reading this review to be cautious of the timelines and cooking options offered in the advertisement. Clearly from my experience, things were not what Cesarine claims to sell me.
Really nice experience. A lot of knowledge and practical skills. Extremely friendly atmosphere. We enjoyed this class very much
This experience was so fun! Roberta was so friendly and helpful. We learned how to make pasta while laughing along the way. Highly recommend!
Federica was absolutely amazing! We had a class with 4 of us in Federica’s home. We made wonderful friends, cooked and enjoyed what we made with a bottle of Prosecco. I wish we could do it all again :)
We had the pleasure to be hosted by Maurizio at his home. We had a spectacular time. He was super friendly and knowledgeable. It was one of the best experiences. The food was delicious. We had a BLAST making it and the host was the cherry on top. Highly highly highly recommend this experience. If you could request Maurizio you should! lol
Our Césarine home cooking session was one of the best experiences of our trip! Oriana welcomed us into her beautiful home, which was full of fascinating artefacts and stunning art, setting the perfect atmosphere for an authentic Italian experience. The cookery class itself was an absolute joy. We learned to make tortellini, tagliatelle, and tiramisu, all while sipping delicious local Pignoletto sparkling wine and enjoying Parmesan, home-grown vegetables, homemade focaccia, and strolghino. Every moment was hands-on, relaxed, and full of laughter. Oriana was the most warm, engaging, and entertaining host—she made us feel like part of her family. This wasn’t just a cooking class; it was a window into real Italian life, filled with passion, great food, and unforgettable hospitality. Highly recommended for anyone who wants an authentic and memorable culinary experience in Italy! 🇮🇹🍷
This was the highlight of our time in Bologna. Federica was an amazing host and teacher in this experience. We are so happy we chose to take part in this and can’t wait to try the recipes at home! We would recommend this class to everyone traveling to Bologna!
This was such a wonderful class it was a treat from start to finish. Christina has a wealth of understanding and experience in the Italian kitchen and shared it with us to teach us technique, and shortcuts, and fine handling of materials and instruments. When we ate the meal I had a hard time believing that we cooked the pasta and tiramisu!
The whole experience was wonderful! Veronica welcomed us into her home with warmth and generosity. She was patient and gracious in showing us the tricks of making good pasta. And the final result was delicious. She is knowledgeable and passionate about cooking and the evening was a delight!
We hear it all the time that cooking is love, but I truly felt that when I attended Cristinas pasta making class. Cristina and her husband welcomed us into their home for a truly memorable experience. Both were so warm and welcoming. They shared stories, tips and made us feel like family. We ate so well, and left with so much knowledge. The best part was Cristina made sure we got more than enough information to take home so we can replicate her exceptional dishes. It was so hard to leave at the end of the night! We can't thank them enough for allowing us into their homes for an experience we will treasure forever!
Learning the Italian Way of cooking pasta & dessert was an enjoyable part of our holiday. Our host was beautiful.
Wonderful experience so glad we did this. The instructor was awesome, so kind and gives the background of what you are making for the day. He is very patient and you can tell his passion for cooking. Come ready to learn and with an appetite!
What a wonderful experience to be invited into Federica’s home. You can see for miles from her balcony, while making delicious tortelloni, tagliatelle and tiramisu from scratch. We started with a mortadella mousse and fresh veggies while sharing a bottle of Brut. Her expert instructions made this cooking class simple to accomplish. We ate a delicious tortelloni first course, followed by tagliatelle ragu for second. But be ready for the best tiramisu I have ever had. Thank you Federica!
Roberta was a perfect host and teacher. The apartment was easy to get to (a couple of stops on the bus from the centre) and the kitchen was fantastic. Roberta talked us through each step with great instructions and context in perfect English, and we were able to pick which dishes we preferred to make. A fantastic couple of hours, will recommend to any friends coming to Bologna
Annamaria was absolutely wonderful. Worth every penny. I highly recommend this class and request Annamaria. Culture, food and family history was amazing. We sat as a family and enjoyed what we cooked. Time was of no essence which was wonderful to not be rushed through.
Fabulous experience! The host Annamarie was very hospitable and an amazing instructor! She actually increased are time with her so we could enjoy great conversation while enjoying our food we prepared. Two types of pasta and an Italian dessert! We loved every minute of the class. There were only 5 of us. Max is 6 people. It took place in their lovely home in a very safe part of Bologna. You must book this class with her!
Roberta was very welcoming. It was lovely being in her home in Bologna . I will definitely make pasta at home.
Annamaria and Francesco made us feel so comfortable like we were visiting family members! We learnt so much about the cuisine, but also local culture. I struggle with some food intolerance (onion, lactose, garlic) and I am vegetarian - Annamaria took care of everything, selecting appropriate recipes and getting lactose-free products for me. We loved the dinner with our hosts the most, enjoying the fruits of our labour and having great conversations with Annamaria and Francesco!
Giovanna was the most loving and caring host, warmly welcoming us into her home and sharing not just her incredible cooking skills, but a heartfelt glimpse into the culture and charm of Bologna. Her passion for food and tradition shone through every moment, making the entire experience feel personal and truly special. I would wholeheartedly recommend this class to anyone looking to connect with authentic Italian cuisine and hospitality. This is a memory I will carry with me for a lifetime.
Roberta (the host) was very warm and welcoming. Masterclass was held in a cozy company of 4 people, so it was pretty much like a private class. We were offered drinks, such as water, coffee (very tasty) and wine (very tasty as well), and also different appetizers cooked by the host herself. The main thing - I finally learned how to make an actually delicious fresh pasta!! Amazing experience. Definitely recommend
Spending the day with Esther and Stefano at their lovely home was by far one of the best things we did during our trip to Italy (and we did a lot of things!). Some highlights: 1. Communication - Prior to our visit, they were fast and clear in all communications including working with us to arrange transportation from Bologna to their lovely home. Rare is the tourism world today. 2. Hospitality - This couple is magical. They took a run-down property 3 years ago and transformed it to its former glory with respect for all of the original architecture and finishes with modern touches added. The moment you walk into their home, we felt a sense of calm and love. The wine was flowing and the pasta-making class was chef's kiss. We learned a lot about Italian food, and tradition whilst making a delicious lunch complete with tiramisu for dessert. 3. Location - Majestic. The Tuscan sun was shining, the birds were chirping and as we made our way to Esther's herb garden to clip some fresh sage for our pasta I wondered, "Am I in Paradise?" Their event venue just steps away from the main house is an ideal location for a gathering. The layout takes advantage of the views, the facilities like commercial kitchen and wood fired oven along with a beautiful glass-enclosed indoor area and a large outdoor seating area makes for a spectacular special event. Wedding anyone? 4. Heart - Finally, we so appreciated Esther and Stefano's hearts. They are passionate about entertaining, good food, spectacular wine and making new friends. I don't know about other Cesarine members but these two are shining examples of people who know how to entertain and make people who arrive as complete strangers, leave at the end of the day as family. We were a group of 6 and everything was perfect. Can't say enough about this experience. I'd do it again in a heartbeat, Love you Esther and Stefano xoxoxo
Amazing experience that took place in a beautiful home. Very relaxed and friendly small group. Wine was delicious too
Amazing class with Chef Silvia and Marco. Delicious food , great setting and hosts were smart, funny and warm. This was the best experience in Italy for us! We loved the food we prepared and the company was amazing !
We had an amazing and fun filled cooking class with Silvia, Marco and Andrea. Marco picked us up from Bologna with a short ride to their home outside of Bologna. They warmly welcomed us into their beautiful home, with a lovely garden and patio. We were taken through a great lesson in making pasta by the skilled chef Silvia, whose technique created the most delicate and tastiest pasta. Simple , quality ingredients and delicious outcomes. The highlight was meeting this lovely family and the connection over food, travel stories and the laughter shared. The bonus was that this couple have amazing music taste and we got to make pasta whilst listening to Pink Floyd. We loved every minute of our time with the family and highly recommend you booking this tour if you want to create memorable holiday experience. We are so grateful for their kindness and warmth that they received us into their home and sharing their skill and passion for good food. We came wanting to learn to make pasta but we left with a tummy full of yummy food and great wisdom shared by Silvia and Marco and Andrea and having made new friends! This is why we love travelling, the connection and perspectives shared!
Roberta hosted us and welcomed us into her home! The cooking class was targeted at just the right level for the groups skills. We created fresh pasta and tiramisu, and Roberta had prepared us a few starters and a ragu sauce. It was all so tasty, and we hope the recipes we have now will replicate it when we get home! Thanks again Roberta, Luke and Molly
We had an incredible experience with Maurizio making two different pastas and tiramisu. He was so welcoming and it felt like family. I know there are many, many Cesarines in Bologna. I hope you get Maurizio!!!
A great evening of cooking with Roberta Guercini in her beautiful apartment. A very interactive fun session. Highly recommended.
Everything was amazing! From when we got there until we left very unique. And Roberta and her husband were the best host.
Rosa was an informative teacher and an enthusiastic personality. Made us feel at home instantly, which made for a memorable experience! Very gracious host who served appetizers and shared great pasta-making tips & recipes that we can't wait to use soon. Would book again!
This is a hands-on experience where you will learn how to make pasta and a tasteful tiramisu. An experience not likely to be forgotten!
We had a wonderful time learning how to make gnocchi and orecchiette. The ladies were so welcoming allowing us into their home, sharing family stories and pasta making tips that we are excited to use. The food was perfect and authentic and the time spent there was like being at home with family cooking. It was a fabulous treat of an evening that was topped with delicious tiramisu. I would highly recommend this dining/cooking experience.
