Bologna Street Food Tour: Taste Authentic Local Flavors

Filippo did an amazing job showing my wife and I around Bologna. We tasted some delicious dishes and Filippo is full of historical knowledge of the food and the city, as well. Highly recommend for anyone who enjoys the stories of food.

We only had one day in Bologna so this informal walking tour was a great way to see a bit of the old town and learn about the food and its associated culture. Our guide Eric was very friendly and informative and we had chance to sample the local meats and cheeses. Would definitely recommend to other visitors.

This is a fun food tasting tour. We went to four places and tried three savoury dishes and one gelato. The three savoury places were great but the gelato was a little disappointing - I would have preferred somewhere a bit more traditional/genuine. Jasmine was a great guide, she was bubbly and full of stories and interesting information.

Our guide was a student studying archaeology. He hade the tour so interesting. The information about the city I found more interesting than the food we tried. Although the ice cream at the end was delicious

Jasmine was incredible. She had amazing energy and gave us wonderful directions ahead of the tour, incredible information about the city and the food during the tour, and even answered a question following the tour. I returned to one of the restaurants after the tour with colleagues. I would absolutely recommend this food tour to others and would personally recommend going with Jasmine.

Loved the tour, got to go to places I never would’ve thought of on my own. Our tour guide Jasmine was so fun and informative! She had recommendations of where to go for dinner that were less touristy and it was delicious! All the food was great!

There were a lot of food and wine tastings and history along the way. The food and wine was very good and the guide was friendly and knowledgeable. Viator gave the wrong meeting point so if you get a text from the guide- check for a location link.

Very fun, plenty of snacks and unique wines to taste, explored fun little nooks around the main square, and lots of fun facts about the city. BTW Eric was a great guide!

Our guide, Leo was great! He was very knowledgeable about the city and gave us great recommendations of places to eat after our tour (not that we were hungry).

Lousy followup by trip advisor after booking compared to get your guide on getting meeting instructions (I had to look it up and it was a different meeting place on the tour website in for versus looking up the confirmation. Get your guide and the companies they use sends texts and emails that are clear. Tour was fine but nothing special. The food selection was pretty basic considering how good food is in Bologna. The guide was nice but did not learn much information and a bit difficult to understand. Had a better street food tour and guide in Venice. The best part was meeting the other participants from different countries.

We booked our tour for our first evening in Bologna. Due to our flight being delayed we were running late, but communication with our guide, Naz, was terrific! She told us not to worry that in fact we were the only group on the tour and she was happy to wait for us. The tour, food and Naz’s knowledge was just what we needed to give us a taste of Bologna and a wonderful introduction to the city!

An excellent way to spend two hours. Our guide Naz was knowledgeable and entertaining. The tour was a great combination of walking, eating and learning about Bologna.

Our tour guide was Eric, who was excellent. He was so knowledgeable and friendly, happy to answer any questions the group asked of him. He shared some history and interesting facts about Bologna and Italy. Our food stops included cheese, mortadella, Parma ham, wines, and gelato. The food we tasted was all excellent quality, but wasn't any of the named more unusual food in the tour description.

We had a lot of fun with Erik, our guide, sampling various street foods and hearing local stories. It was nice to meet other fun travelers on the tour as well. Definitely recommend!

This was a wonderful way to learn interesting historical facts and stories about Bologna through food! My kids especially enjoyed the fried tortellini, mortadella, and gelato. Our guide Domenico was knowledgable and very kind. Highly recommend!

Amazing food and Naz was a great guide!

I highly recommend this tour in Bologna. Our guide, Sara, was so friendly and knowledgeable, she did an amazing job. She made sure we were all happy with the food and drinks provided, and she gave us the history of where we were walking in between places. All of the food was excellent, this tour is absolutely wrth the money.

Domenico as a guide was great. He was very knowledgeable about the history of Bologna as well as the food. He kept us very well hydrated which was appreciated as it was very hot throughout our tour. That being said, while the tour is meant to be "street food" it was a bit disappointing in that the food was practically all the same. We stopped at 4 venues and had sandwiches at 3 of them with practically the same ingredients. It would have been to have at least 1 stop that did all the traditional bits like different balsamic vinegars & mortadella.

Jasmine is not only super friendly, she is super knowledgeable about the food and history of the city! I love that she stopped and pointed out historical facts and things about the city as we walked from place to place. The food stops were perfect, from cheese, fried tortellini, and mortadella and more! Pro tip: get the melon gelato in the summer! And ask for Jasmine!

Domenico gave us a real flavor of the local foods of Bologna. We enjoyed the tortellini in cones, that had a very unique flavor. The parmigiana cheese with balsamic vinegar tasting was awesome. The round sandwich in a distinctive bread with a unique marking and inside was with soft local cheese and sun dried tomatoes. So delicious. Also, he gave us a testing of Bologna wine, Sangiovese, mortadella, prosciutto, focaccia and lastly Gelato to die for.

Desperate - we were sent to wrong meeting place - late for tour as a result - I had to call the guide Julia - food was not good quality and explanation was poor
