Guide was excellent: informative, entertaining and engaging. This is as much as I’m going to say so take it or leave it. I’m annoyed at your insistence on 100 keystrokes.
Mauricio is a very passionate and interesting tour guide. He gave us a great overview of the beautiful city of Bologna and answered a lot of of our questions about the history. We highly recommend this tour.!
The electronic listening device was a suboptimal experience, to say the least. We could only hear maybe 70% of what the guide was saying. Guide was not great either. An unfortunate waste of money, and, more importantly, time. If you hope to learn something just spend the money for a real guide like tours by locals. Even better, don’t even come to this section of Bologna. Huge tourist trap. Makes me feel embarrassed for all the really nice parts of Italy that do it right.
Could have been better... too much minutia...not enough city info. Fyi the Neptune statue genitalia should have been referred to as a penis...not a dick! Felt a negativity toward Americans in his point of view regarding the end of the war.
This was a great introduction to the history of Bologna. Our guide was very knowledgeable and the tour was very worthwhile.
Tamara was a wonderful tour guide. She has a great sense of humor and is very clear that she’s passionate about Bolognan history and art. She shared so many interesting tidbits about the city and different art styles as we walked through Bologna, making the tour really fun and memorable for my friends and I. Highly recommend her as a tour guide if you’re ever in Bologna.
We only spent 24 hours in Bologna and wanted a quick tour of the city, this tour was perfect. We had a great guide!
Lots of information, very interesting, a great introduction to Bologna. Our guide, Victoria, was full of information, took time for questions, really lit up during the final secrion of the tour —- the market, Foods and wine. Personable, professional, polished without being stuffy. Excellent language skills.
Excellent value and Marco was a superb guide. Very informative and interesting and kept us moving along.
Bologna, it’s a beautiful city with lots of history Christina our guide was very knowledgeable. Very pleasant with a nice way of talking with a nice manner of talking.. Thank you so much. We are very pleased with the tour.
I love Bologna! Underrated city filled with amazing gastronomy. What a wonderful city! It is very young city; many university students. Quality of food is excellent with amazing price. The tour includes food allies and downtown. She explained the history of city very well. You will appreciate beautiful porticoes!
This was a great way to learn about the city and get our bearings. We had purchased the extra option for food, which ended up being vouchers, which we used a later time. There was no eating while on the tour.
Great tour with our guide, who focused not just on the history and architecture of the city, but Bologna’s other claim to fame, food
Victoria was an excellent guide and provided is with a very good history of Bologna. She touched on the most important aspects of life in Bologna including religious, academic and gastronomic. We really enjoyed this introduction to Bologna. Thank you Victoria.
This is a great tour for an introduction to Bologna. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable. I enjoyed it very much.
Great overview of Bologna Old City. Guide provided excellent information and kept us moving through the old city for several hours. This is our first visit to Bologna. This tour was outstanding as it introduced us to this wonderful city.
Our tour guide provided a very good example of Bologna history. Spoke English really well and easy to understand. Wish our tour guide used an identifiable flag on an extension so she would be easier to find. Other than that - all good.
The group was large and it lost the connection I was hoping for. I lost interest but not because of guide, because of size. I had so many questions but didn’t feel comfortable asking with a group that size. We were 16!
Very informative! Our guide knew and conveyed the history of Bologna as well as current events. Not too long, not too short.
Brilliant guide with a great style of expression. Terrific highlights of Bologna offered with good knowledge offered
Great orientation for the historic center of Bologna. Our guide was great—super knowledgeable and funny.
We visited the Basilica, the two towers, the city hall, the medieval Chamber of Commerce, erc. Ilaria, the guide, also pointed out some places to visit afterwards
Great way to understand the city and surrounds. Great tips for restaurants and areas of interest. Hidden gems and local knowledge.
Audio guide distributed but collected because not working. Guide knowledgeable but scattered. Did not have well organized. Too much emphasis on same trivia. Needs training.
Guide must be a professor, the level of knowledge and information was amazing we learned A LOT. Thank you!
Our tour guide was very friendly, knowledgeable and committed. We really enjoyed the tour and learned a lot about the city.
A little history, a little food, a little wine and topped it off with gelato. A good combination. Due to the high number of participants, it was broken into 2 groups, each with their own guide ... that was a very good decision by the tour company
We took the two hour walking tour that was free. It took us to the highlights in the city center, and our guide was informative, but couldn’t answer most of our questions. It was a helpful orientation to the layout of the city center where there is so much to do.
This is a great and simplistic tour to explore the city centre of Bologna. We have had a very nice and knowledgable guide, who explained us the rich history around. If you are in the centre of Bologna with limited time and not sure what to do, this tour should be your pick.
Great and informative trip. Would highly recommend. Guide was amazing and very funny. 5pm was perfect time to be mostly in the shade.
Excellent, informative guide! Wonderful tour and covered so much in 2 hours.
Very informative tour, led by an experienced and knowledgeable guide, we thoroughly enjoyed getting to know this fascinating city more.
We took this tour on our first day in Bologna. It was the perfect way to learn about the city and orient ourselves to the main landmarks in the medieval city center.
Our tour guide was awesome. He seemed to thoroughly enjoy the topics he talked about and was a wealth of information. I would highly recommend!
Matteo is an excellent guide! Very interesting, lots of history of this amazing city.
Very interesting information about the history of the city delivered in a relaxed manner by Matteo. We covered a lot of ground in the two hours - building design and street development with anecdotes related to all.
Our tour guide, Tamara was informative yet whimsical. Her enthusiasm for the city was clearly evident. The two hour tour covered many different parts of the city.
The 2 hour walking tour of the city in the morning was very enjoyable and very educational. Bologna is a fascinating city with a rich (and old) history and our tour guide was excellent in presenting a wealth of information in a very engaging manner. Really new her stuff and was pleasant and funny as well. Also recommend the additional hour in the afternoon which visited the Archiginnassio (old seat of the University). Again, the guide was extremely knowledgeable and professional and the buildings provided a fascinating look at the first university in the world.
We booked the English walking tour of Bologna and both really enjoyed it! Our guide was very good and we learnt lots about the history of Bologna. She was very good at relaying the information and a plus the whispers used were very good and we could hear everything. Another thing I liked was we moved place to place and she gathered us around her and spoke to us. A lot of the tours we have been on in Europe the guide talks to you as you walk and you lose so much information so thank you for this. Would definately recommend the walking tour. I had added the food tastings which I could take or leave.
We had a wonderful walking tour around Bologna. Our guide was superb. Clearly very passionate about the city and so knowledgeable. Thank you. We definitely recommend to others
Food tasting tour with no food on tour?
Very informative, historical and interesting. Bologna’s history is rich in commercial and scientific enterprise.
We would have walked 2 days with Maurizio instead of just 2 h. He is a gifted and very knowledgeable guide and is a walking chat GPT. Thanks a lot Maurizio !
Really inciteful walking tour around the city. Excellent, knowledgeable guide who shared lots of history and facts. Small group so plenty of opportunity to ask questions. Highly recommended.
Do it! We learned a ton about the city and saw the major sites and monuments that my guidebook had recommended.
Very nice tour overall. The group was quite small - just three of us plus the guide, meaning that it was quite easy to follow and listen. We've traversed along and across the major see sights and some interesting back streets. The guide was quite informative and answered any questions arouse. The duration of the tour was around 2h which is perfect for introduction to the city of Bologna.
The walking tour is a nice way to learn about the history of Bologna and see some of the main landmarks. To enter the cathedral, you need to cover your shoulders and not be wearing shorts/dresses that are too short. Plan accordingly. It was our guide's first time doing this particular tour so it was a little less interactive that I had hoped but still very interesting.
Worst walking tour I have done. The guide was totally random firing out all sorts of historical stuff randomly as it came into her head - on many occasions not related at all to the buildings. She also just kept walking off not keeping the group together It was for the most part boring and unfathomable - like walking around with a mad eccentric Aunt ! Think she said she had been a teacher - she should have stuck to that We weren’t the only ones rolling our eyes - we nearly just walked of but stuck with it seing as we had paid £25 each for the privilege Treat this as a formal complaint TripAdvisor as we booked through you - can we have our money back please
Good overview of Bologna. Guides English was just OK and a pity someone was correcting her along the route.
