We enjoyed our two-night stay at Hotel Porta San Mamolo. It is located on a quiet street within easy walking distance of the Piazza Maggiore and all sites. There are good restaurants close by, and a valet parking option is available. We took advantage of the lovely, shaded courtyard as it was quite hot during our stay in Bologna. The breakfast buffet offers a lot of fresh options. Our room was a spacious suite a few doors down from the main hotel, which was no problem. We arrived early and our bags were stored and later delivered to our room. All staff were friendly and helpful. Overall a good hotel choice.
Beautiful quality hotel. Lovingly cared for. Excellent caring staff, friendly atmosphere..Rooms nicely decorated airy and comfortable. My friend had her passport stolen in Florence and it was very traumatic. The Manager and his staff could not have been more helpful and accommodating.

The building itself is full of character, set in a converted historic home that really captures the charm of the city. There’s a lovely courtyard garden to relax in after a busy day, and a bright, welcoming orangery where breakfast is served.
The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. We booked the quad room, which was spacious, spotlessly clean, and had a great-sized bathroom.

Excellent location and a great hotel to explore the city. We had a large room with a separate lounge area with a pull out bed. Would book again.
A lovely & beautiful hotel that has adapted to the environment and not the other way round. Our spacious room was beyond the inner courtyard garden. The service was excellent and I will book this hotel again on my future Bologna excursions.
