Juliana what's a great guide, I had the opportunity to try out many different dishes and learn more about the Colombian culture. Went 1st to the market and then walking through the city to try out different dishes. Especially like the variety of the food and beverage combined with some Colombian tradition. Highly recommended if you are staying in Bogota.

Return
- The tour ends in the heart of the "La Candelaria" district where many hotels are located. It's a short walk from the Botero Museum and the Plaza de Bolívar. The tour duration is approximately 3.5 to 4 hours depending on the pace of the group.
Itinerary
Our first stop is La Perseverancia Market, learning about exotic fruits with a food obsessed guide. Then we'll dive into a truly local chicheria. For carnivores, there's no happier place than the next hole-in-the-wall eatery, which does nothing more than lechona - stuffed suckling pig with crunchy, golden skin. Your taste buds are going to thank us later, when you then savour the innovative twists of ajiaco soup. Continue winding through the streets of old town, and try buñuelos, a deep-fried doughnut-like pastry. We'll next play a round of tejo, Colombian's rather explosive national pastime, all washed down with a cold beer (or juice!). Then we'll jump into one more seriously historic restaurant which has been serving hungry locals for 200+ years. Tuck into steamy leaf-wrapped tamale, with frothy hot chocolate. Sounds like an odd combo? It's good. Trust us.
Over the course of the tour you'll have a rich understanding of our food culture - with 13+ tastings, and the guidance of a local expert who is a bonified foodie! Sign off with a coffee workshop to find out why this country roasts some of the finest beans in the world. The tour ends at Casa Magola cafe, along Carrerra 3. It's a short walk from the Museo Botero and the Plaza de Bolívar in the popular La Candelaria district. Your guide can help you find transport back to your hotel if you wish. The tour duration is approximately 3.5 to 4 hours depending on the pace of the group. Special dietary restriction or food allergy? These local joints have signature menus that don't always have alternatives but we'll find alternatives where we can! We unfortunately cannot recommend the tour to severe allergies, as street food always has a risk of traces and cross-contamination. Come take a bite into Colombia's cuisine. Buen Provecho!

We had an amazing experience on this food tour! It was a fantastic opportunity to explore the local culture through its delicious food. Every stop offered something unique, and everything we tasted was full of flavour. Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the entire experience fun and engaging, sharing interesting stories and insights along the way. The tour was well organized, and we enjoyed every moment of it. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip and an experience I would highly recommend to anyone visiting!
Overall, my wife and I had a great time. Viator tour guide picked us up from our hotel and provided a driver to and from. It was a great opportunity to learn about the local culture. The market location was a standout. The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable. I wish there was coffee to start, followed by a dessert at the end. Overall, it's a great tour for a solid price range.
The guide was excellent. The Food we tried was awsome. I Would defintely recommend it
Excellent guide. Spent a wonderful afternoon. Would definitely do again.
So much fun, so much food and so much information. Thank you for a great day and expanding my knowledge of colombias food culture
An amazing way to learn about Colombian culture through food. The guide was very welcoming and knowledgeable and we got to try a variety of different food which all tasted great! Great experience overall
A pleasant experience. Got to experience a new side of Colombia's culture as told through its food. Awesome guide and tour group. Well worth it.
Brilliant tour from start to finish, Andres was super enthusiastic and informative with excellent English. So much food , it’s not a joke about not having breakfast. Every detail was thought about down to umbrellas for everyone in a sudden rain shower. If you do just one tour in Bogota make sure it’s this one.
What an amazing food tour and day! Andrés and the company were communicative, efficient, kind, and prepared. They sent thorough directions and pictures of where to meet and whatsapped in advance. It started raining a bit but Andrés had shown up with umbrellas for everyone. We tried several different fruits from the market that are unique to Colombia and that he had picked ahead of time. He came with a cutting board and knife and we shared the fruit while waiting for the ajiaco tasting. There was so much fruit and often, other tours will not include trying some fruit. This was such a treat for me! The food was delicious and plentiful, entrees and desserts. You shouldn’t eat breakfast and you may not even need dinner afterwards :) the salsas provided were excellent, and there were national drinks (both alcoholic and non) at almost every stop. The whole day was very organized but didn’t feel rushed. Andrés made an effort to connect with every group and was so knowledgeable about the history and current events. He was able to answer all our questions. I felt very safe throughout the tour, and they even sent safety tips before as well. The highlight for me was the last stop where we got to play a game of Tejo, which I did not think I was going to be able to see, let alone play! This tour was a comprehensive, eventful, delicious, and wonderful experience from start to finish and I can’t recommend it enough. Do NOT miss this. It is worth every penny.
This was my 6th Chef's Tour in Latin America and Andres continued the experience. Great knowledge and insight, and of course excellent local tastings !
Thank you Juli for the really nice tour! We went to lots of great places and tried a lot of really good food. Juliana was extremely helpful and communicative.
This was an absolutely wonderful. Definitely go hungry, because you’ll get to eat A LOT! Our guide, Jenny, was so knowledgeable and passionate, taking the time to explain the history and culture behind the different types of food. It’s a great walk as well, through the city center and ending at Candelaria - with lots of unique and different stops (and food tastings) along the way.
A great way to see and explore Bogotá and Colombian culture. Lots of different, tasty food to try…come hungry! Juli was a friendly, informative and fun guide. Would recommend!
Couldn’t recommend this tour enough to get to know various different neighbourhoods in Bogota! Our guide, Juliana, was excellent, she created a fun, relaxed atmosphere and was really passionate about the food being shared with us. All the food was delicious and there was so much! Definitely arrive hungry! I also loved that we got to play Tejo and Bolirana as well.
Great tour with deliscious food and interesting and thought provoking information! Come hungry!
We had an amazing guide, Juliana, who brought Bogotá's culture and cuisine to life. She shared not just the food but the stories behind it, so every stop felt meaningful. The tour let us do more than taste delicious dishes; we got to see, hear, and feel the many different sides of the city. Highly recommend this experience to anyone who wants to truly understand Bogotá!
Fantastic tour. Would highly recommend
This tour was fantastic! Andres was super knowledgeable about the history of Colombia and how it related to the cuisine. He answered every question and we had a great time on the tour! Highly recommend
We had an excellent tour with Andres! We tried a great amount of delicious food, in a lot of different styles. Every dish was explained very well, and we also got great views of the city and an overview of its history. Honestly, I booked this as an afterthought, but it ended up being one of the highlights. My friends and I all highly recommend it!
Juliana was an exceptional tour guide. She immersed us in Colombian culture and culinary traditions. I would do this tour again on my next trip to Bogotá.
Had a terrific experience with an amazingly talented guide who planned for all possibilities! Thank you for having g umbrellas for us in the pouring rain!
The tour with guide Andres was absolutely lovely. Andres was knowledgeable on the food, cooking and cultures of Colombia but could also inspiringly explain about history, social movements, you name it. I learned much and it was also a really convivial experience, being with the guide and the small group of interested foodies we did the tour with. The tastings and locations were well-selected and on point too. Definitely recommend this tour for a great introduction to Colombian food and culture! Thanks to Andres!
Best food and town you will love it.
This was so much more than just a food tour. First off- everything we tried was incredible! So going for the food alone is worth it. But the various drinks, fresh fruits, walking between 4 neighborhoods. You really get to see the city. It was so affordable for all that you get. We also learned two fun bar games. Just an overall amazing experience. The tour was approximately 4.5 hours and just the best way to spend a day. Made friends with the other 5 people on my tour too! Also, shout out to Juliana. She was an incredible guide and answered every question, gave personal antidotes, and couldn’t have been kinder.
The tour was a wonderful experience of local foods, fruits, desserts and drinks. The tour guide (Andres) was very knowledgeable, nice and fun. I definitely recommend the experience.
Juliana was our host. She spoke wonderful English. The tour was a great mix of trying different foods and drinks and also local pastimes like Bolirrana & Tejo. There was just the right amount of walking and just when you felt it was time to stop, we were at the next place. We have done tours like this all over the world and were a little hesitant for Colombia as the food isn’t as exotic as other places we’ve been, but Juliana made it interesting and fun.
Amazing experience. Andres made the experience a really great one. Very educational and knowledgeable. The tasting were great and really opens your eyes to Colombian culture and cuisine.
Andres was fantastic and this tour is amazing! When they say don't eat breakfast, they mean it! There was so much food and such a great variety of options. Andres has a real love for Bogota and how the food and culture all come together. It was a great time and we probably won't need to eat for days, this was well worth it.
Great experience with Andres, very knowledgeable and friendly. All the spots we were taken to shared a bit of Bogota’s history with us.
Great experience learning about and tasting a lot of traditional Colombian foods. Tried a lot of things I would not of known about or tried on my own if I hadn’t done this tour.
1000/10!!! A+++++!!! WOW!!! What an INCREDIBLE experience!!! It is the best food tour we’ve been on. Our tour guide Jenny is warm, knowledgeable and professional. We tasted all of the famous national dishes/drinks and then some. Our favorite part of the tour was the fruit tasting portion of the tour. We were introduced to fruits that we have never seen or tasted before. Jenny took is to “hole in wall” establishments we would have never known of. Her knowledge and passion of food/history of her beautiful country is contagious!! The tour group size of five people was also perfect. We met interesting people from all corners of the world who share our passion for food and history, We had long discussions of food, travels, history and life prospectives. Jenny not only filled our bellies. She also fed our brains and curiosities. The cherry on top was to be able to play a game of Tejo! Book this tour!!! You will not regret it. You will walk away with so much more. And if you get Jenny as your tour guide. You would have hit the jackpot!!!
Loved this food tour. Our guide Jenny was lovely and extremely knowledgeable. I had a great time and would highly recommend to anybody
Andrés was a very energetic and knowledgeable guide. Food was delicious, the game of tejo at the end was particularly fun, and great vibes all around. Definitely made new friends and 10/10 recommend!!
Awesome experience tasting so many different Colombian foods that I would’ve never tried by myself. My guide Juliana, was very knowledgeable about all the different traditional Colombian dishes we tried. Overall one of the best guided tours I’ve done. Highly recommended if you’re into food and visiting Bogota!
The tour was awesome with tasting of 22 different foods that covered all important things that are local to Colombia like ajiaco, Lechona, Tamale, Chicha, pandebono, hot chocolate with creams, several different interesting fruits and others. Our guide was Juli and she was very knowledgeable. She was always looking to make things more interesting and fun. She had few local games and kept the whole experience fun as well as very informative. She had asked us to avoid breakfast. We were stuffed full by the end of the tour. Lot of walking but she made sure we get enough break in between and it was not all difficult. Thanks for a fun day!!
One of the best tours of its kind I’ve ever taken. Jenny was amazing. It was fun, informative, and friendly. I was disappointed when it was over as we were having such an enjoyable time.
For our first full day in Bogota we had a great time experiencing so many tastings and learning so much about the food and culture. Jenny was so knowledgeable about the food and we had so much fun along the way learning different Colombian games. I highly recommend this tour and Jenny as a guide!
Juliana ran our food tour and it was amazing! Definitely worth what you pay for the portions, what you try and the type of food. She was very accommodating (amd attentive) and you get great insight into the culture of eating Colombian food in Bogota.
We got to try a great variety of local foods and drinks that we probably wouldn’t have discovered on our own. Everything was delicious, and our guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and made the whole experience really fun and relaxed. I especially loved hearing the stories and background behind the different dishes and ingredients. The tour was the perfect length for a half day — enough time to explore, eat lots of delicious food, and get a feel for the local culture without feeling rushed.
Best food guide ever! Juliana was fantastic at explaining the various Colombian food sampled … and there were many, many food/fruits to sample. If in Bogota, do this tour early in your trip and get Juliana as your guide. You will have no regrets.
What a fantastic experience! Andres was an incredible guide who offered so much expertse in both the history and gastronomy of Bogota! He is exceptionally kind, helpful and patient and we are so thankful for the experience. P.S. Come hungry- really!
Absolutely love the tour with Juliana! We really enjoyed trying more traditional Colombian food and drinks that we otherwise would not have thought to try on our own. Juliana was a terrific guide, she had great energy and provided very useful cultural information and history around each of the items we tried.
Fantastic experience with a great guide and lots of tasty foods
We had a great time with Jenny - she is so knowledgeable about Colombian food (and worldwide gastronomy!). Don’t hesitate to book this, it is great value for money and you’ll get to try food and drinks in Bogotá you wouldn’t otherwise as a tourist. We particularly enjoyed that Jenny took the pace of the group into account, and looked after us so well. Gracias!
Great tour, really fun mixed group , Jenny was a fantastic guide, lots of varied foods and great walking between all the places
We started the day with tasting a variety of fruits, some unique to Colombia. Then Ajiaco, Lechona, coffee, coca tea, tamales, roast meat, beer and much more. Also tried a few local games. All in all a great day, all the food you could wish for with Andes, a fantastic young guide.
The tour greatly exceeded our expectations. Andres was friendly and engaging. You can tell he has spent a lot of time studying food and history. He is very passionate and truly enjoyed fielding questions from the entire group. I highly recommend this tour.
It was a nice experience, we had a wonderful time and learned allot about Columbian food
Very enjoyable tour with a good group. Juli was a great guide, very knowledgeable and mingled with the group very well. Lots of different food and drinks and saw a bit of the City as well. Highly recommend.
