Ragul is an excellent guide. On time pick up, just the right amount of history and overall highly recommend.

This was a fantastic day trip. We got a thorough tour of the Cathedral and received a lot of interesting information about Bogota and Colombia from our local guide.
Jhovanny was our super guide! From the moment we stepped in the van, he began explaining the history and geography of the mines, the cathedral, and the surroundings. He tailored the tour to our interests and made sure we were always comfortable and safe. Five star day!!!
The Salt Cathedral is a true religious experience, much like Machu Picchu. It is 850' below the surface. One doesn't think of this while walking because of the carvings and Stations of the Cross. The most spectacular part of the visit was Christ speaking on one side of the wall, his words projected on the opposite side and the cross illuminated in the center. It is shown only during Easter week. It's hard to imagine that this could be carved out of the salt mountain.
Gigio was an amazing guide. He customized our tour based on what he learned about us and what we thought would be interesting. He was very knowledgeable and kind-his English was perfect and we were right at ease with him!
I had a great tour with the tour guide. Very informative on the formation of the Salt mines in Zipaquira and the layout and history of the salt cathedral. Definitely would recommend to anyone. Really unique place to visit.
Loved the tour! I had already seen a salt cathedral in Krakow but this was different. Maurizio and the driver Juan? were great! Recommend it and don't forget to eat the desserts in the cafe!
Great tour! My guide was extremely knowledgeable of the history of the Cathedral. Great short tour of the city as well
It was an incredible experience to witness this beauty. Circa 30 meters underground, they have built a Cathedral made of SALT. Can you believe it? Included in the ticket you can profit from the company of a guided tour, in Spanish or English. Then you join a group of tourists and you will walk through many tunnels with 12 stations, depicting Jesus Christ's crucifixion process. the whole experience takes about 2 hours and it is unforgettable. From Bogota, you can hire a Taxi cab, or a Uber driver to take you to Zipaquirá town, 1 hour from Bogota, approximately. It is a must-do activity!!!
I booked late Sunday and was picked up at 8:00 am (ish) Monday morning. Impulse travel responded very rapidly on WhatsApp to my request to confirm pickup spot (as they ask you to do). I sent emails and then used the mobile number to connect via WhatsApp which worked splendidly. The guide, Emilio, has very good English, is very knowledgeable about Colombian history and world events and, of course, about the history of the salt Cathedral. He also reads and studies more to learn more and constantly improve at his job. on the way to the site he gave me a course in Colombian history. Juan is an excellent driver. Safe, polite and friendly. He lets other vehicles in when it is appropriate, Lets people cross the street and gets you there and back just as quickly and, most importantly, safely. Thank you. I enjoyed the tour and will tell others.
Great tour and excellent knowledge from the tour guide. A very interesting site to see with a lots of great picture opportunities.
It’s ok, didn’t do it for me, some people love it clearly but i thought it was underwhelming. It’s well presented etc but it’s a big hole in the mountain that has individual chapels and nice lighting in places but i would have found a working salt mine far more interesting. If i knew what i knew now i wouldn’t spend 1.5 hours in traffic each way to see it.
Raul was an awesome guide during the trip and in the mines and gave us a lot of insight. Highly recommend.
The tour guide Ivan was excellent and very informative for our private tour to the Zipaquira Salt Cathedral. Would definitely recommend, it's so worth it!
I came into this expecting to be struck with awe in the depths of the earth, but the only amazing thing about the Salt Cathedral is that it was built underground. Apart from that, you walk down an endless way of the cross (the first cross is impressive, the others are all the same) and eventually reach the cathedral itself, which is packed with people and only made up of a couple rooms with coloured lighting and an extensive gift shop. Would not recommend unless you are a christian yourself and extremely moved by cathedrals.
The visit to Cathedral was incredible, it was interesting and entertaining. You have to allocate at least 3 hours to just do the basic tour , if you are the individual who likes to explore and visit everywhere , get details of the mine, go to the museums , taking your time to drink a coffee and a snack . It can easily be a whole day event . We ate at a restaurant outside the cathedral , it was very well priced, food was good and the people were very friendly . The whole family enjoyed the trip, it was sunny and it wasn't cold, a light jacket would do .
Tour guide was on time, vehicle was comfortable and the guide was friendly and knowledgable. If you have limited time in Bogota it eats a lot of it for just an average tourist destination in my opinion. But if you decide to go, Impulse was a good option.
Went here with family and a group of friends from my church back home in Philadelphia... One word “wow!” This place is spectacular. Whether you fancy yourself a religious person or not, this is a place that everyone should see at least once.
The Salt Cathedral is amazing! We had enjoyed our half day with our fabulous tour guide - Andres, She is informative and attentive, we had a wonderful time with her. She is the best tour guide we had met in Colombia! Thank you Andres! (I hope you would be able to see this.) Love from Hong Kong and London.
A long but interesting walk through the salt mines to reach tha amazing cathedral. Old and younger in the family were excited by this very different journey
We really enjoyed this tour. There are some attractions I believe really benefit from a guide and this was one of them. Not being religious, it was fascinating to have this explained to us. The cathedral is both spectacular and beautiful. I loved the carvings the atmosphere and the sheer scale of it all. The hotel pick up and drop off was super convenient.
A wonderful introduction to Bogota and its surroundings. Our guide, Jorge, was so enthusiastic, passionate and helpful. The half day guided tour to Zipaquira was really well organised and very interesting, and this was followed by a delicious lunch with our guide in town. On the way back to Bogota- Jorge continued to impress with recommendations for food, drink and sightseeing across the city. Can't recommend highly enough.

The tour to Zipaquira was amazing! The Salt Cathedral was a once in a lifetime visit - we came away in awe of the construction of this giant cathedral inside a hand hollowed salt mine!
Jorge was a fantastic tour guide and gave us all the information we could have wanted about the cathedral and all things Colombia! If you are in Bogota, you should definitely take the time to go to Zipaquira!

We can recommend to take this tour. If you visit Bogota it is a must.

Our guide spoke perfect English and was well informed. You could tell he had a lot of training and schooling in Columbia tourism. We could ask him anything and he knew the answer. Great tour!!

Great short trip out of Bogota. Salt Cathedral has to be seen to be believed. Great guides too. Even the drive through Bogota was an experience (not for the faint hearted).

Alejandro was an excellent guide with perfect English. Having a private ride is much better than being on a bus full of people.

Great and knowledgeable tour guide - highly recommended!

An interesting tour of a really cool cathedral but a little expensive compared to the experience

This was a great tour with great explanations and context given along the way. The guide spoke excellent English and answered our questions with a lot of knowledge. He gave us many recommendations for restaurants and other sights to see on our visit. The parents and kids all loved the tour.

A must see!! Our tour guide Fabian was friendly and knowledgeable !!

Angela was a great guide, tons of great information and advice. Amazing views, incredible architecture and construction.

Two of us went on this trip with driver/guide Angela. She was a fund of information about the cathedral and a patient guide. We had plenty of time to absorb the atmosphere and take our pictures although the cathedral was incredibly busy the day we went. Its a long drive to Zipaquira and Angela used the time to tell us everything we wanted to know about Bogota and Colombia. Well worth going.

The tour was excellent. Our guide picked us up and took us to the front of the cathedral. She spoke excellent English she spent time in the US. We learned a lot. This is one of the most important things to do while visiting the Bogota area. The tour saved us a lot of time because we did not have to do any leg work. It was a private two person tour which was nice because we were able to go at our own pace.

Angela was a fantastic guide... very knowledgeable and personable. The Cathedral was awesome... rarely in life to you witness a historical site like this being built in our own generation. Plus, Angela really knows and is proud of her country. She made visiting this site not only interesting but inspiring.

Our tour guide was outstanding. She was very warm and personable. Angela was her name and the McKoy family from the United States was very pleased. She took the time to answer all questions using our native English language.

Again, same Tour Guide. David is excellent! so knowledgeable and so patient. This Salt Cathedral left me breathless and honestly I can say is one of the most beautiful site I have ever seen in my life.

This was an absolute delight of a day. Our guide was not only pleasant and very knowledgeable but great company too. The salt Cathedral itself was stunning! Not to be missed when in Bogota.

This tour is advertised as a 4 hour tour, but believe me, it is more like 6 hours. My driver was half an hour late in picking me up. He was supposed to come at 8:00 AM, but didn't come until 8:30. It took 2-1/2 hours each way to get to and from the Zipaquira Salt Cathedral due to extremely heavy traffic congestion leading and out of Bogota. We didn't get to the Zipaquira Salt Cathedral until 11:00 AM and we were rushed through it, spending only an hour there because I made it very clear to my guide and driver that I had to get back to join my escorted group tour for lunch. I didn't get back to Bogota until 2:30 PM when my group was finished with lunch. The bottom line is that if you book the morning tour to the Zipaquira Salt Cathedral, do not schedule any other activities for later that afternoon because you might not get back in time for them.

This is definitely a must-see when visiting Columbia. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly with great English, but I did feel the tour was a little rushed. The bus picking us up was running late, so I feel this impacted on the tour somewhat.

This tour was amazing, well beyond what was expected. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and provided many interesting facts about this beautiful country. The photographs taken were breathtaking but still don't capture the cathedral. Only suggestion is to have time in the town

A thoroughly enjoyable trip to a fascinating place. The tour guide Luis Eduardo was very knowledgeable and extremely friendly.

Luis was our guide and he was very entertaining and full of historical facts. We enjoyed it very much.

Great Tour!!!1 The Guide was fantastic!!!!! The Salt Cathedral is unbelievable.....

Beautiful trip. The guide, Julio was excellent! Knowledgable, well prepared and well versed in Colombian themes. Personally he was charming and wanting to please.

I recommend this your to everone.

My parents and I had a wonderful to to Zipaquira Salt Catheral in October, 2012. Our guide, Claudia Valencia Chaljub, was extremely knowledgeable, prompt in her pick up and return to the hotel, and professional in her tour. She spoke English very well which was helpful to my parents! Thank you!

There are only two salt cathedrals in the world - one in Wieliczka in Poland and one in Bogota. I had been to the one in Poland already so I didn't want to miss the one in Bogota. The tour was great and well worth the visit - it was done privately and with an excellent guide. This salt cathedral is a bit different as you walk down into the chapels and towards the altar (you have to take an elevator down in the one in Poland). The sheer size of the place is incredible and it's absolutely breathtaking. You can take your time strolling through the different chapels and small rooms before exploring the main area of the cathedral and the impressive altar. Well worth a visit!
Booking the tour with Impulse Travel was very simple, they quickly answered every one of my questions. The tour was excellent, both the guide, Jonathan, and the driver made this a great experience, with much charisma and attention they guided us all the time to and in the Cathedral.
Beautiful excursion!! I recommend your visit.Very friendly local people.Prices are modest The village of Zipaquirá is beautiful!
Salt Cathedral, with atmospheres that evoke the viacrucis of JESUS CHRIST. It is a short walk approximately 40 minutes but very beautiful because you see the work of the workers and in the conditions of the mine. It is guided with personal audio (like a phone) and you can repeat the station as many times as you want. Carry money because at the end of the mine there are to buy very nice souvenirs and also you find authentic emeralds with guarantee and the best previous from Bogotá.
