Our group of 5 took this tour on a Monday. It was a perfect start to our week in Bogota! We got some local flavor (which made ordering and purchasing food for the week easier, because we already had an idea of what we liked), saw some parts of the city, and on Mondays the market is less crowded! We took home fruit for the week and wonderful memories! Juani helped us understand the culture, the climate, and how to be respectful visitors. We enjoyed it so much, we booked 2 more tours with Zebra Fisgona! It was well planned, and wonderfully executed. Highly recommended!

We booked the Paloquemao market tour, and had the pleasure of having Aleja as our guide. It was such a fun experience. Aleja first explained to us the history behind Paloquemao and how it ties to the history of Bogotá and Colombia. Immediately we tried the pan de bono at the front and a few sweet drinks, everything delicious. Then the highlight of the tour: the market itself. We saw a variety of fruits and vegetables like we had never seen in our lives. Each of the vendors are friendly and welcoming, as all Colombians are. After some time walking around, with Aleja handpicking individual items from several stalls, we sat down to try it all. Aleja explained the characteristics of each fruit and vegetable, their medicinal purpose if they had any - which many did! - and how it is used in Colombian cuisine. Every flavour was unique, exotic in some cases to our taste pallet but nonetheless a great experience. Highly recommend Zebra Fisgona tours and the Paloquemao market tour in particular, it’s a must do if you’re spending a few days in Bogotá. Thank you so much Aleja!
Our tour of the fruit market was the highlight of our time in Bogota. Our guide Vivi, was one of the most informative and friendly guides I have ever had on any tour. We sampled food and fruits from all over Colombia, and met people passionate about the market. I highly recommend this tour and this company to anyone visiting Bogota.
We booked both the Zebra Fisgona Fruit Tour and the Horseback Riding Tour through the Andes, and both experiences completely exceeded our expectations. The fruit tour at Paloquemao Market was an absolute highlight. Our guide was fun, knowledgeable, and passionate about Colombian culture. We got to try a huge variety of exotic fruits (many I had never even seen before)while learning the history and traditions behind them. It was hands on, interactive, and such a delicious way to connect with the city. The horseback riding tour was equally amazing. Riding through the stunning Andes mountains for hours felt like stepping into another world. The horses were well trained and cared for, the views were breathtaking, and our guide made sure everyone felt safe and comfortable the entire time. It was both adventurous and relaxing, the perfect balance. What really stood out across both tours was the hospitality and energy of the Zebra Fisgona team. They clearly love what they do, and it shows in the way they create such authentic, thoughtful, and fun experiences. If you’re visiting Bogotá, I can’t recommend these tours enough. They’re the perfect mix of culture, adventure, and connection. An easy 5 stars!
We had an amazing time on this tour! Aleja was very informative and knowledgeable. We tried many delicious dishes, including over 20 types of fruit that she hand selected. Definitely recommend!!
The best two days in Colombia were spent with Zebra Fisgona tours. On our first day we did the Anti-Tour in Chapinero. It was close to our hotel and let us get familiar with the neighborhood and some secret spots we would have never noticed without guides, Aleja and Vivi. We got to try a cafe, ice cream, fruit salad, arepas, a bookstore, and even did some clothes shopping. We had so much fun. Several days later we did the Paloquemao Fruit Market with Vivi. She walked us all around the market and we tried tons of new fruits and savory snacks as well. A highlight was playing Tejo in La Candelaria. Vivi and Aleja felt like friends at the end of our tours. It’s really a relaxing joy to have a fun local guide you around. 100% recommend.
The Paloquemao Market tour with Aleja was the absolute highlight of our time in Bogotá! We tried 32 (!) fruits that were new to us, several delicious varieties of avocado, and other Colombian delicacies like lechona and avena. Aleja is a fantastic guide —she shares so much interesting information, she is the nicest person and knows the market vendors personally, which allowed us to connect with them too and made the experience even richer. We highly recommend this amazing tour to everyone!
We did the tour with Aleja and had such a blast. She is awesome, knows tons of vendors, and made the tour one of our favorite things. All the fruit was clean and she brought accompaniments to make some of the flavors pop. The tour felt tailored to us and while it is a little more expensive - it is worth it. We had some really great conversations about Colombia. Don't use another tour company - Zebra Fisgona is the best.
Absolutely wonderful tour. Very informative and friendly guide (Juanita). We tasted a lot and learned a lot. Definitely a must, if you want to complement your Bogota stay with an authentic foody and cultural experience.
Had an amazing time in Colombia for what was my birthday trip. Visited Bogota, Medellin, and Cartagena. Found out about Zebra Fisgona from a vlogging video on YouTube and instantly knew I wanted to tour with them. We booked 2 tours, a fruit tour and a coffee/cacao tour. Juani was our guide for both tours and she was amazing! Her love for her country and hometown, Bogota, was evident as she made our private tours feel like we had know each other for years. We visited an amazing fruit market and several coffee/cacao cafes that only locals know about. If you are looking for great tours and want to avoid the basic boring impersonal overpriced tourist trap tours, look no further than Zebra Fisgona. Highly recommend and would book again. -Haki
Such a great tour! Aleja was amazing during our tour. We learned a-lot about Colombia with all the delicious fruits and treats! You really get to experience the market thru the eyes of a local and it changes your perspective so much. Absolutely recommend!!
My partner and I recently did the Paloquemao Fruit Tour with Zebra Fisgona and it was great! Our guide, Aleja, was super friendly and knowledgable, and it's clear she and the other folks at Zebra Fisgona have gone out of their way to build relationships with merchants at Paloquemao. We can't wait to recommend Zebra Fisgona to friends and family who visit us in Bogotá!
One of the best tours anyway on the world I have taken. We became friends with the two ladies that operate the tour company. I would highly advise using them for anything in the bogota and surrounding area. They are knowledgeable about the entire area. Also, they showed us the area where all the fire arms recovered as part of the peace treaty was melted and now on display.
If you consider a guided tour of Paloquemao Farmer's Market tour in Bogota, look no further than Zebra Fisgona Tours. This company owned by Alejandra and Juanita will give you the best experience ever. They personally conduct their tours. My sister and I did this tour with Aleja and this was one of the highlights of Bogota. Aleja started our tour by taking us to a coffee shop across from the market where we had excellent cappuccinos and got to know each other. We then went to the market where we started in the flowers section. Colombia is the second biggest exporter of flowers in the world, after the Netherlands. Then Aleja stopped at a bread shop, Pandebonitos de la Virgen where she bought us 3 different types of bread and 3 different drinks to sample. This was the best pan de bono we had in all of Colombia. After this we moved into the fruit and vegetable part of the market where we tasted more than 20 fruits, some of it known to us, some totally unknown. We took lots of photos and Aleja even sent us a list of the fruit with Spanish names and pictures so that we could identify them afterwards on our photos. We also walked through the meat and fish sections which were very clean and she bought us arepas to taste. After this incredible tour she and her driver took us back to our apartment where she left her bicycle in the morning. Before heading home she first walked with us to show us the nearest supermarket to our apartment. She did so many extra things for us, not only on this day but also on the days we took other tours with her. She helped us with arrangements for the rest of our Colombia-tour which we could not expect from her. She even stored our luggage in her apartment while we visited the Amazon and unbelievably she even drove to our apartment to pick up our luggage and dropped it of again when we came back, without asking us anything. She and Juanita are really two amazing people. First check out all the Bogota tours Zebra Fisgona Tours has on offer, before you decide to book anything else. You will not be disappointed.
I recently embarked on the fruit market tour with Aleja and her business partner, an experience that turned out to be one of my highlights of my visit to Bogota. Discovering their tour through Viator and opting to book directly on their website proved not only cost-effective but also facilitated direct communication with Aleja. Starting the morning with a cup of coffee set the perfect tone for our exploration. The early 8 am kickoff at Paloquemao Farmers Market was a strategic choice, allowing us to navigate the bustling market with fewer crowds. The tour unfolded with a delightful array of traditional Colombian breads, a generous serving of Arepa, and a fascinating showcase of over 15 exotic fruits, some of which were entirely new to me. The culinary journey concluded with scrumptious empanadas and a satisfying cup of coffee. What made this experience truly exceptional was the genuine dedication of our tour guides. Aleja and her partner took their time, offering intricate details about the fruits' origins, names, and additional anecdotes. Their willingness to answer questions and the warm, personable approach made the tour not just informative but genuinely enjoyable. This fruit market tour emerged as my favorite in Bogota, providing a unique and immersive experience that surpassed what we could have achieved independently. If you're visiting Bogota and want to delve into the richness of its fruit market, Aleja's tour is an absolute must. The personalized touch and in-depth insights guarantee an unforgettable adventure that goes beyond the ordinary.
Book the fruit market tour, you won't regret it! Aleja was the best tour guide, extremely friendly. Very knowledgeable about the fruit but also Colombian history. Fruit was delicious. We opted for the transportation option and it was perfect. Would recommend to anyone visiting Colombia.
I thoroughly enjoyed the Bogota farmer’s market tour with Alejandra! It was so much fun to walk around and try delicious coffee, epanadas and all the different amazing fruits . Plus, it was great to have a local experience! Alejandra was so friendly and knowledgeable - the tour was definitely one of the highlights of my trip! I’m only sorry that this was my last day in Bogota - I would have done another tour with her in a heartbeat!
Alejandra was AMAZING and the best Bogota tour guide! We got to taste over 15 fruits and had the best coffee and empanadas! Definitely the highlight of our time in Bogota, 10/10 recommend this tour.
One of the best ways to know about the city and the market! The tour was amazing, with lots of information to catch and fruits to taste. It was fascinating for us to know the name and taste of the fruits and understand how to select them. If one goes early on the day, it is also possible to see some exotic flowers in the parking lot. The tour guides are welcoming and charming, always ensuring that you are having a great time during the trip. It was a great experience overall.
