It was a very interesting tour, we walked around La Candelaria, a historic neighborhood of Medellรญn, and thanks to the knowledge of our guide, Luis Felipe, we were able to know the history behind some landmarks. Also, we enjoyed a Colombian coffee to finish the tour in Cerro Monserrate with a beautiful view of Bogotรก.

Great experience of Bogota city tour with Felipe. Well organised and great value for money. The timing and duration of visit was just about perfect. Felipe has great knowledge and is very enthusiastic about what he is doing. Highly recommend this tour.
I had fabulous day at Bogotรก, everything was organized perfectly and flexible and it gave me very good possibility to see around the city and experience Bogotรก during my layover. Guides gave lot of information and insights to life in Columbia
This tour exceeded all my expectations โ definitely a great experience. Touring with Luis felt like I was traveling with a friend who really cared about showing me the heart and soul of Bogota. His tour was clear, organized, and left plenty of time to explore the city. Riding the cable car to Monserrate: was a ton of fun; there were local school kids there enjoying visiting the site and the views over the city were stunning,. Luis told stories of the individual communities around Bogota, giving me not just a sightseeing tour, but a deep, human look at how the city has changed over time. Moving through the historic downtown, we visited plazas, parks, and local corners that felt off the beaten path. I especially loved learning the cityโs history and Luisโs passion for Bogotรกโs past and present made every stop meaningful. The tour also included a visit to the Gold Museum, home to the worldโs largest collection of Pre-Columbian artifacts. It was such a joy to have a highly-educated guide who could help provide background information on each piece and allow me to have extra time in the museum at my leisure to enjoy the beauty of the art. On top of the tour stops, there were authentic local snacks (one of my favorite parts!) that gave a real taste (literally) of the region, including fresh hot chocolate and an authentic Colombian lunch. The guide explained ingredients and traditions behind the food, which made it feel less like a tourist activity and more like being welcomed into someoneโs home. Overall, this tour gave me a balanced, rich, and heartfelt portrait of Bogota. I left not just with great photos, but with a deeper appreciation for the cityโs history, culture, and people. Highly recommend it to anyone visiting Bogota โ especially first-time visitors who want to go beyond the surface and experience. Colombian culture at its finest. Thank you, Luis, for a wonderful day!
I 've traveled more than 50 countries. I often buy these kind of trips. Luis Felipe was the best local guide I have met. He informed us very well about his country. Lastly, he took us an exclusive place for coffee tasting. I recommend this tour to everyone
Hereโs a positive English-language review for your private tour in Bogotรก with Luis: Highly Recommended Private Tour with Luis Felipe in Bogotรก I had an amazing experience on the private tour with Luis! He was incredibly friendly, punctual, and accommodating to all my wishes (such as having coffe tasting in the morning or visiting a mall before returnig to the hotel) throughout the day. What really stood out was the wealth of fascinating information he sharedโnot only about Colombiaโs complex history, but also about contemporary life, culture, and society. And his english is perfect! One of the highlights was the visit to the Gold Museum, which Luis brought to life with insightful stories and historical context. He made every stop meaningful and engaging, and it was clear how passionate and knowledgeable he is about his country. If you're looking for a thoughtful, well-organized, and enriching experience in Bogotรก, I can confidently recommend a tour with Luis. You wonโt be disappointed!
Highly recommend. Luis Felipe is incredibly professional, flexible, and warm. 5 star experience, really. Even traveling solo, I felt incredibly safe, well-cared for, and informed; our conversations in both Spanish and English went beyond typical tour-talk... into interests and culture - helping me to better understand the city, religion, education and other social influences. I booked a second day after the first.
Our guide was very knowledgeable of Colombia and it's history and he managed to show us all the key highlights of Bogota in one day. He even dropped us at the end in a restaurant to have dinner. highly recommended for people who speak English or Spanish . He is fluent in both . He paid all tickets and for all tastings.. wonderful service.
We had a great day with Luis visiting the various sights in Bogota. He was punctual, polite, flexible, and most importantly very knowledgeable about the city and keen to share his knowledge.
It was an amazing adventure and a well knowledge tour guide. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to get to know the true Bogota.
Our bilingual family of 4 had an excellent experience with Luis Felipe as our guide. He worked with us to tailor the plan so our youngest child of 8 would also have an enjoyable time: we went to Paloquemao, the Gold Museum, caught a lovely city view from el Banco de La Republica, and had a hands-on cacao-making experience that was really rewarding for our kids (8 and 13). Luis Felipe is very professional and courteous and knowledgeable; we chose him based on his many excellent reviews and we were very satisfied with our experience. Gracias Luis Felipe!
Luis is absolutely amazing and my husband and I had the best time exploring Bogota! I would recommend this tour to anyone. Luis did a great job explaining historical and cultural significance throughout the city and took us to all the important spots to visit on this tour. He translated Spanish for us since we only knew a little, and taught us some Spanish words to us while ordering, etc. A very patient man! He also recommended great places for food/coffee and went above and beyond! If we go back to Colombia we will be requesting him!
We arranged our tour with Luis Felipe and thoroughly enjoyed our experience from the outset. Our time was truly remarkable, and I would highly recommend this tour, rating it a perfect 10/10. Luis Felipe's approach made us feel at ease. He demonstrated remarkable flexibility and even facilitated our desire to engage in the game of tejo, which we had wished to experience for many years. I cannot express enough positive remarks regarding Luis Felipe; he was both amiable and exceptionally knowledgeable.
This is one of the best tours Iโve ever done, and itโs definitely worth every single dollar. Luis and his brother were amazing tour guides and they showcased us all the beautiful things that Bogota has to offer. Luis is extremely knowledgeable with the Colombian culture and history while still adding an awesome sense of humor to the tour. Trust me, you will not regret this experience.
You have to book a tour with Luis Felipe! We had the most amazing experience in Bogota because of him. From the moment we were picked up from our hotel until our return, Luis Felipe provided A+ service. We were able to see the city in a way that only someone who live in and loves the city can express. Thank you Luis Felipe for making our trip to Bogota unforgettable!
10/10 would recommend spending your day traveling and learning about Bogota with Luis Felipe and Alejandro. Luis Felipe took the time to show us his home and made us feel like part of the family in the comfort of a vehicle. No need to wait for Uber or taxi, being taken from location to location with no worry of parking or buying tickets, He takes care of everything while you are able to take everything in. My family so appreciated being able to see multiple must see locations, and being able to rest in between. If you want to see Bogota Luis Felipe and his service is the absolute way to go. We can't thank him enough for his time and care.
Luis Felipe gave us the most fantastic half day tour. We contacted him at the last minute as our previous tour was cancelled and he didn't hesitate to help us. The tour was very informative and he was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. It was well worth doing and we saw and learnt far more than if we had tried to do it all ourselves. Highly recommended and couldn't fault it.
We booked a half day tour of Bogotรก with Alejandro and Luis Felipe as part of a layover during a business trip, and could not have enjoyed it more. Friendly, safe, reliable, and knowledgeable driver-guides with a wealth of information on the historical and cultural hot spots of the city. And a lot of fun too. Highly recommend!
This was honestly the best tour Iโve done in a long time. I came to Bogota with my mother and we were looking for a private driver that can show us his city and teach us more about the country. Luis Felipe our driver and guide was funny, very kind, on time, flexible and so easy to be around. He has great knowledge, perfect English, humour, he understands what his clients want and is flexible to change the schedule if needed. We had such a good time - thank you very much!!
We had an amazing day! Louis and his brother are incredible guides. We felt safe, learnt so much and had a great time. So much included - value for money!! Highly recommend
The guide was very patient and understanding. As a young lady traveling by myself I felt safe doing this tour. He was efficient with the his time for the planned half day tour. It was well worth the money!
This tour was one of the hands-down best days of my LIFE. We were in Bogota celebrating our 13th wedding anniversary, and we booked an 8-hour tour - the truth was that I really wanted to see the city, but I found it really overwhelming digging through best-of-Bogota blogs to try to plan what to do. Luis took care of that for us and planned the most amazing day! He responded on Whatsapp to my inquiry immediately, and I just gave him some loose ideas about the kinds of things we were interested in, and he did the rest. My husband isn't really into museums, but we were very interested in pre-colonial history. Luis insisted on the Gold Museum, and it was the perfect place to see, experience, and interact with that history we were craving. We spent way more time there than we expected and it just flew by because we were so engrossed in discussion and immersed in history. So, trust Luis's recommendations - he knows what he's talking about! We also went shopping through a craft market where I bought some emeralds which were extreeeemely affordable because they were mined locally, saw some art, got amazing photos at scenic spots, had Colombian coffee and cakes, and then ventured up to Mount Monserrat. Monserrat is a tiny little city on top of the mountains - we took a cable car up, visited the church which was full of very unique artifacts including Black Madonna and Black Jesus, and had lunch at the most gorgeous restaurant on a cliff with incredible views. Luis guided us through the menu: we ordered waaaay too much food but 100% of it was delicious and I do recommend the sangria. Luis is knowledgeable and professional - he took care of all the tickets, orders, and logistics - but also super kind, thoughtful, and open-hearted. He answered all our questions and gave us tons of information, but he also shared his stories and opinions, despite the fact that many of these topics, including colonization and the drug war, were painful and traumatic. We discussed ancient ways of life easily alongside current events. By the end of the day, we had learned so much, been on an amazing adventure, and felt like we'd made a friend for life. My only regret was that we booked this tour on the final day of our trip because we left exhausted, but more curious than ever and energized to learn more about this incredible country, which I think has so much to teach us about our world and our future. So book a tour (or tours!) and do so as soon as you can! Check out my tiktok @authenticallyadhdme for videos from our tour!
Luis was a great and very knowledgeable guide. Very easy to talk to and he provided such interesting facts and perspective about Bogota and Colombia overall. We had a fantastic time and would recommend Luis to anyone!!
Luis and his brother were amazing. Beginning with our very late/early arrival time, picking us up at 2am was all I needed to know that these guys were awesome. Our stops at local markets and shops were easy and relaxing. Learning the history and culture at museums and other places of interest, Luis made sure we got the full experience. We attended a local concert and was dropped off and picked up directly after. The communication with Luis on whatsapp was perfect with no delay. They were constantly at the ready for anything at any time during our 3 day stay in wonderful Bogota. It was a beautiful place to see and learn about. These guys made it even better. Highly recommend and will be using them again when we return.
We had a 20 hour layover in Bogota and wanted to make the most of our afternoon there. This half day tour was the perfect choice. Luis Felipe was informative, helpful, and charming. Even if you have more time than we did, you could not get a better introduction to Bogota.
Everything was well planned with time in mind but plenty of fun stops. We enjoyed this tour very much and highly recommend it to get to know the city in a short period of time. Luis was very knowledgeable and his English was great! We hope to visit again and do a tour with him again.
From the moment we introduced ourselves we sensed we would be in good hands for our half day tour of Bogata. We travel a lot (63 countries so far) and know what makes a great tour guide. Luis Felipeโs pride and love of his country first of all was contagious. His knowledge of history and background for each sight really helped us to further appreciate surroundings. And he also was able to pass with flying colors my questions regarding issues that were potentially controversial. He enabled us to become very comfortable with the city. My husband and I both highly recommended Luis Felipe.
As a solo female traveler with no English experience whoโd never even been to South America before, Luis was a savior. For 3 days he was my driver, translator, security, tour guide, and friend. He met me at the airport after midnight and took me to my hotel. He picked me up and arranged a Covid test for me before my half day tour. He drove me to and from other experiences I booked. And he picked me up at 3 AM for my 6 AM flight home. The entire time, he was friendly, helpful, patient, knowledgeable, and kind. I canโt say enough about Luis. If you need anything while in Bogota, contact Luis!
Luis Felipe was our guide and he was exceptional. Very knowledgeable, well prepared, and flexible. We added a stop at the Gabriel Garcia Marquez Center and he made that more interesting than we expected. Luis Felipe's plan for visiting the outstanding Gold Museum was perfect -- he had selected a number of key exhibits and made sure we saw them all. Managed our time perfectly, and was flexible about running over the typical tour length if we had other destinations in mind. We were a group of three personas de la tercera edad ad one thirty something, hotel pick up and drop off flawless. But my primary reason for strongly recommending this tour was the quality of the tour guide -- Luis Felipe owns this business and is committed to high quality.
Luis was an excellent tour guide and gave us a very detailed understanding of Colombian landmarks, history and culture. What makes this tour unique is that Luis is an excellent story teller and this brings to life the different places that you visit. He weaves in both personal and cultural anecdotes which was well suited to my partner who was on her first visit to Colombia. Equally so, I have been to Colombia many times and I still learned a lot as well and also ate some delicious food along the way. Highly recommended!
I hired Bogota Driver Guide Service to take myself, my partner and mother to go to the National Museum, Gold Museum and visit some of Bogota highlights. Luis Felipe was very knowleadgeable about the city and country, being able to answer all of our questions. He also spoke very good English, was always on time, accommodated my mother's needs (who can't walk very much),changed the tours to accommodate our needs and was very professional. I highly suggest people to hire Luis Felipe services!
My wife and I went on this tour on 12/30/19 (Monday). First thing we learned was that the Museo del Oro is closed on Mondays, so unfortunately we couldn't go there. In the end, this was no big deal because we had such a great time with everything else. We went to Monserrate first and the views were incredible! The lines for the cable car and finnicular were long, but very worth it. We then went to Candelaria and stopped for some arepas, empanadas, and Colombian beer (this was all included). Next we walked through Plaza de Bolivar and the cathedral, which was my favorite part. After that we saw the graffiti of Candelaria and then went to the Botero museum. His artwork is very unique, and we enjoyed seeing all his paintings and sculptures. The best part of the tour was our guide though. Luis Felipe was incredibly nice and gave us all kinds of insights into what life is like in Bogota. He spoke about the history of Colombia and Bogota the whole time, and we learned so much from him. We felt completely safe the whole time we were there, and I definitely recommend this tour to anyone traveling to Bogota.
We had a wonderful day with Luis on our private tour. The story telling and information he shared while we were in the gold musuem was unexpected and an absolute highlight. From start to finish great communication and planning. Would 100% reccomend taking a private tour with him.
Luis, our tour guide was friendly, relaxed, knowledgeable and enthusiastic about Bogota and Colombia generally. We were as interested in Colombiaโs recent history as the Bogota tour itself and really enjoyed Luisโs explanations and personal insights. Luis arranged our tour on very short notice but collected us from our hotel on time, explained the typical options for the half-day tour but gave us the flexibility to vary the itinerary as we went. Though we were tired from a long 5 month tour of South America we were really pleased we contacted Luis and enjoyed our afternoon around Bogota. Highly recommended.
My husband and I spent our 3rd anniversary in Bogota, we booked this tour to see some of the sights of the city. We surely got an unforgettable experience. Luis is very knowledgeable with an outstanding personality. He was very informative and was very patient with us as he also took us to a local market. We had such a wonderful time we also booked the Salt Cathedral tour with his company and had a night of dinner and dancing at Andres de res. It's truly another experience that is a must should you visit Bogota. Muchas Gracias to this wonderful company!
I was very impressed with the passion and knowledge Felipe had for his city. I had a 24 hour layover in Bogata and this was a perfect way to spend the day. He arrived in a clean and comfortable car, explained the day, ensured I was enjoying myself and that I felt safe and comfortable. It was more like a tour from a knowledgable friend proud of his city than from a guide.
We booked Luis from Bogota Driver Guide for a full day on our first day in Bogota. We saw not only all the highlights of the city, but we also got a feeling of the city, places to visit on your own, tips for good restaurantsโฆ We stayed 3 days in Bogota and all these tips helped a lot! Luis is a kind guy, who speaks excellent English and knows a lot! Not only about the history and highlights of the city, but also about economics, politics, gastronomy, art, and architecture. He has a nice, clean car and he drives carefully. In every city we visit we hire a private tour guide and up to now Luis has been the best we had!
We consider ourselves "well-traveled" and always use a private tour early in our stay to learn more about the venue. This was the very best tour every provided to us. Luis Felipe gave us more than information about Bogota and Colombia. He shared his personal story and passion for what his Country is becoming. This tour had a profound impact on our understanding of Bogota, Colombia, and South America. Luis Felipe is a great communicator, and asked for feedback throughout the tour in order to be certain he was meeting our needs. Don't miss this tour - it was our best of many!
We only had a short time in Bogota and we are so glad we did this tour. Organisation was great (we had to change our date and time many times but it was no problem). The tour was tailored to exactly what we wanted to see - we only have a passing interest in art and architecture so we only lightly touched on that and then spent the tour learning lots about the recent social, political and economic history. We felt very safe everywhere we went and were so glad we did this at the start of the holiday as we got a much deeper understanding of not only Bogota, but Colombia generally. We were asked where we wanted to go and what we wanted to see, rather than just make everyone do the same tour. We were picked up at our hotel and dropped to the airport afterwards, and even accompanied to the check in desk! You wonโt regret this tour if you want to maximise your time in bogota to see and learn as much as you can. Thanks for a great trip!
Luis Felipe was the best tour guide of all time. He accommodated all of our interests: food, culture, history, politics and shopping! We got a deep understanding of Colombia and its evolution into the country it is today. We always felt safe and secure with Luis and canโt wait to come back. Could not recommend more. ๐ฏ๐ฏ๐ฏ
Luis Felipe from Bogota Driver Guide Service did an excellent job of introducing this fascinating city to me. I highly recommend them for anyone wanting to visit Bogota!
Luis and my entire experience was awesome. I was in Bogata for a conference and only had one day to take it all in. Luis allowed me to pick and choose some items that were intriguing for me...including stops for street food that I had to try! Luis is passionate about his heritage and super knowledgeable. I would highly recommend.
I really cannot recommend Luis Felipe highly enough! He was such a wonderful, knowledgable, honest, and professional guide. He customized our tour based on what we wanted to see and it was incredible. We felt safe the entire time, and best of all, well informed about the amazing history and bright future of this beautiful country. We visited the Gold Museum (and stopped for coffee at the lower level cafe beforehand!), then toured La Candelaria, Plaza Bolivar, saw lots of amazing street art, and had freshly made empanadas - YUM! We then visited Monserrate which was probably our favorite. Such a beautiful view of the large city below! Luis Felipe was always touching base with me along the way to make sure we were getting what we wanted out of the tour. He truly was amazing and the tour was worth every penny! Do yourself a favor and book a tour with him - you won't regret it!
This tour was truly amazing! Luis Felipe taught us so many insightful things about Colombia and its history. His brother, Alejandro, was available to take us around to all of the must-see spots. They recommended us a great spot for lunch as well. This is a tour that shouldnโt be passed up when visiting Bogotรก! Thank you for an awesome experience :)
We saw the highlight - terrific view from the mountain;museum street paintings shopping market and had a quick snack in just 6 hours. Luise also took us to local market for particular shopping. Thanks to Luise -very polite, gentleman with very good understanding of history and a great guide.
This was an amazing, thorough tour! Our guide, Luis, gave us a detailed history of Columbia, all in context with the sites that we saw. We visited The Gold Museum, The Botero Museum, Monserrate and several excellent restaurants. We were so happy with the tour and would recommend it to anyone. Luis and his brother will tailor any tour to see Bogota or other areas, per your desires. It was such a great day that we hired this company again, for a second day.
Highly recommended service. A great way to see Bogota. Received a wealth of information, historical perspective on Bogota. Best choice!!
We were very fortunate to book this private one day tour for Bogota. In the 6 hours we felt like we saw a lot of Bogota and Felipe was outstanding. We left learning a lot of history, getting a great glimpse at the culture, and enjoying some wonderful local food and coffee. Thank you Felipe for such a perfect day.
Luis Felipe and Alejandro were so accommodating and understanding. To start with, we booked the wrong date! So there I am texting Luis Felipe to confirm the pick up time and we both realize the Conundrum. They were so courteous and accommodated our schedule. We went up to Monserrate and then grabbed some delicious Colombian food for lunch at Chibchombia. Later we had the opportunity to visit the Museum of Fernando Botero, walk around La Candelaria and enjoyed some street art. Closed the day with some well deserved Colombian Coffee at Varietale. Being the coffee lover that I am, Varitale was the Highlight of my day. My bff LOVED the museum. In summary, we had a wonderful and productive day thanks to Luis Felipe and Alejandro. We really appreciate everything you did for us. It was a great visit!
Luis picked us up at our hotel and sped us off to Mount Monserrate so that we would beat the crowds. After enjoying the spectacular views of Bogota, and Luis' incisive recounting of the history of Monserrate, we made our way to the museums. Throughout the day I appreciated Luis' insight into the history and nature of Bogota and Colombia. While the tour isn't inexpensive, it was well worth the cost. Luis provided a great introduction to Colombia and a good framework of understanding for our travels.
