Great experience. Ricardo was an excellent host. Mixing sight, history knowledge and food. Really enjoyed walking the areas of Bogota with him.

Myra was an amazing guide. Really passionate about eco tourism and also a Colombian indigenous expert. Loved the tour, and the food was just the icing on the cake 🙂
We had Juana as our guide and she was amazing! She has such a fun personality and talked all along the way as we visited her favorite places to try local foods. She asked us questions in the beginning to understand what we were looking for to adapt the tour for our wants (we had a private food tour). We asked her questions outside of the food we were trying and she knew her history and culture and we were able to learn a lot. I would definitely recommend her to anyone.
It was very informative, tour guide was phenomenal and the food was awesome. Experienced the culture through the food.
I had a long layover in Bogota so I made the most of by booking a tour that included food tasting (to include coffee) and ride up to Monserrate. My guide (Diego Vela) was incredible and happy to answer any questions I had with perfect English. Highly recommend.
Authentic experience, very tart food and drinks, extra stop to witness a Tejo game in a bar, knowledgeable guide
We had an incredible private food tour this morning with Luis. The experience was perfectly tailored to our tastes, featuring foods, fruits, and coffee we genuinely enjoyed, and he also shared fascinating insights into the town’s history, which was a great added bonus. Luis’s English was excellent, and he was an absolute pleasure to spend time with. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Bogotá, truly ticked all the boxes for us.
Excellent variety of food and venues. Our guide Christian was kind and very knowledgeable and engaging and catered the tours to both our taste buds and hunger for history and cultural context!
We are so glad we booked this experience! Our guide Sara was amazing. She took us to some great traditional places we never would have found by ourselves. We tried such a variety of traditional foods and drinks and Sara was great at explaining the background as we went along. Would highly recommend!
We learned so much and enjoyed tasting the foods. Our guide even tailored our experience for food preferences and easily pivoted when some of the restaurants were closed for the new year. Thanks for the guidance!
This is an absolute must when staying in Bogota. We were fortunate enough to have had Luis as our guide. Throughout it was extremely evident he truly cared about making our experience as great as possible. He took us to several gems throughout Candelaria, all of which we ended up loving. Spots included interesting fruits, great coffee, and other authentic Colombian foods and drinks. Luis was extremely knowledgeable and spoke english very well. 10/10 experience, cannot recommend enough.
Juana was bubbly and fun and very knowledgeable about both Bogota and food. We had a broad variety of delicious tastes and she was flexible if we didn’t want something. She knew and was liked by everyone.. She is also a happy person and enjoyable to be around. We highly recommend her!
My partner and I booked a food tour in La Candelaria with Gran Colombia Tours. Luis was our guide, he was fantastic. Having pickup and drop off included is great! We visited heaps of places, from markets to coffee shops with street food and restaurants also in the mix. Would highly recommend to everyone! Approx 4 hours is the perfect length, we were too full to go on anymore! Thanks Luis!
I especially appreciated Luis (and Jose's) accommodating my delays and flexibility in rescheduling the tour. Everything we tried was delicious. The best part was sitting at plaza de Bolivar eating a giant tamale while learning about Botero's childhood from Luis.
One of the best times we had on our trip! We tried many foods from various restaurants. Highly recommended to do the tour early on in your trip, so you get an idea of what food to eat around Bogotá
It was a lot of fun. We didn’t just learn about and taste food, we learned about the city and country as well.
Thank you to Gerald for a great tour of La Candelaria! I appreciate the history and the suggestions he shared. I plan to return to NATIVA Arte y Comida Natural.
It’s in La Candelaria, the historic part of Bogota and a must visit for food, people watching, shopping, and history. Luis was the tour guide and his English was outstanding, especially having only learned it circa 2018. He communicated with me via WhatsApp before the tour to discuss conditions and to arrange driver pickup from my hotel in Tequendama. As any good food guide would do, he asked about food and drink preferences and tailored the tour to that. He made sure to try to get in all the Colombia traditional drinks and food, and his knowledge of food and general history were really good (he even discussed the science of coffee roasting/brewing and Colombia climate for agriculture…as a scientist, I really appreciated that). He was also accommodating when I wanted to stop in a store or two to buy chocolate or clothing for gifts to folks back home. In one shop, he was very familiar with the graffiti artist’s artwork and motivations. As for the food, I was blown away by the variety and do not think I will encounter hardly any of the same foods and drinks unless I try really hard to find it in LA or NYC, and even then. Here’s a tip for busy days (Sunday) and tourist season, book for earlier times because restaurants run out of some of the popular traditional dishes. Luis knew this and asked me if I wanted to start 2h earlier after explaining the situation (original time was 4p). One of the better food tours I have been on and I’ve been on them in many cities.
Cindy was accommodating and really knew her varieties of fruits, different foods and history of the old district. Because of the Holy Week, she had to change venues and did an excellent job on the fly.
Great food and excellent tour guide. He was very knowledgable. Lovely person and very flexible. Would do it again.
This was a little bit interesting. I was exposed to dishes I wouldn’t have ordered on my own. Our guide was polite and knowledgeable, however, not the most personable.
The tour was an incredible way for our group of friends to not only taste everything that Bogotà has to offer but get acquainted with the city and history. Nataly was an excellent host and guide. She went out of her way to get to know us, share her experience as a local and customize the itinerary to our interests and preferences. Nataly made the experience fun and enjoyable. I would highly recommend this tour and Nataly!
I had a fantastic time with Juana. I hadn’t realised it would be a private tour. She was charming and wonderful company for the 3+hours. The time flew past. I got to try more different foods than I had expected too, which was a bonus. We had wonderful discussions about all sorts of things and I learned a lot from her. We explored so much of the area too. I got to know it well enough to be able to return and visit places again and other places Juana recommended.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our private food tour. Our guide Leslie was very knowledgeable about food and history which was perfect as we are connosiures of both. She chose stops that were perfect to our tastes based upon our conversation. And her English was excellent too!
Amazing food tour! A great mix of the most typical Bogata dishes and some from around Colombia. Savory, sweet, refreshing. Plus Leslie customized stops for our tastes.
Lorena gave us a fabulous tour and was able to tailor it to our senior ladies group! Correct pacing, plus introduced us to other options in the area!
Our guide was amazing! She really knew the area and when something wasn't open she found a great substitute. Our driver was on time. The food was great! Highly recommend especially if you like cheese and fried food!
We had the BEST time with Nataly, our super knowledgeable, warm and inviting tour guide. We felt so connected with her instantly and we totally loved our time together. She took us to so many great spots and we learned all about Colombia and it's fantastic cuisine. We hated when our time came to an end! We totally recommend this tour and ask for Nataly, you will love her!
This tasting tour exceeded all my expectations, thanks to Ivonne’s expertise and warmth. It wasn’t just about eating; it was about experiencing the rich tapestry of flavors that define this region’s culinary landscape. I left not only full but also enriched with knowledge and appreciation for local cuisine. I highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to explore food in an authentic and engaging way! Thank you Ivonne, for this memorable experience.
We had a great time with Sarai. We only had one day in bogota and this was a fantastic way to see and experience the city. We ate all the typical foods of Colombia and everything was delicious! Definitely so glad we did this and we felt safe being with her rather than exploring on our own. Highly recommend. Loved that they picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel too.
This entire tour was perfect for a Sunday afternoon! Andres was extremely knowledgeable of not only the variety of foods, but also the history of Bogota. Couldn’t have asked for a better guide! Many thanks for the wonderful experience!
Sarai was a wonderful guide, who gave my wife and I a delicious introduction to Colombian cuisine. From more well-known arepas (despite their disputed origins with Venezuela) and empanadas (a beautiful representation of all three cultures - African, Indigenous and Spanish) to very local foods like buñuelos (a popular Christmas delicacy) and ajiaco (delicious stew) and a small taste of a massive cornucopia of 430 endemic fruits, we overindulged ourselves in the best ways possible. Thank you again, Sarai - we wish you an amazing future as you embark in your nascent career in the tourism industry!
Had a great tour with Nataly. Good foods at every stop we would not have found otherwise. We left very full. This is a must do.
Natly was a terrific tour guide. We loved all the unique foods we tried. Especially the chocolate santafereño. We also learned a lot during the tour. Definitely one to go on.
This tour was a great way to experience the authentic vibe and food of Bogota! Our tour guide was amazing and we were able to sample so many different foods.
Food tours offer one of the best opportunities to learn about a city and a country’s culture. Gerald gave us an excellent private food tour in La Candelaria and it was everything we’d hoped for. He was personable and extremely knowledgeable. He shared a ton of information about Colombia and Bogotá’s rich history, introducing us to foods and the about the people, the areas and the buildings. The food was delicious and he made sure we were happy.
We had a lovely tour of Bogotá, wandering streets and neighborhoods we otherwise would not have seen, on our own. We had a delicious fruit and chocolate tasting, a wonderful coffee making-experience and tasting, as well as a traditional evening snack in one of the traditional cafés in the old town. Our guide, Leslie, was very attentive and knowledgeable, and she spoke great English. Our driver, Diego, safely picked us up and dropped us off again, at our hotel. We highly recommend this tour!
Camila was very knowledgeable about the history of Candelaria and Colombia. Tired lots of new fruits and foods, as well as doing a little shopping. Great experience.
We booked this tour and Lisette was our guide. She did a excellent job.We tasted great Local food and drinks and she provided us with lots of interesting info. On our own we would never be able to discover all these great stops and would never know what to order. So happy we had Lisette to show us all these great things. I can highly recommend this tour! And special shout out to our great tourguide: Lisette,Gracias!
I did the tour with Lizbeth and it was amazing! She made sure enough time was spent at many restaurants around the Candelaria. I'm really glad it was at this historic district with many options so we could pick and choose what to get. I had chocolate con queso, buñuelos, ajiaco santafereño, arepas, and fruits! It was a good amount! She also explained everything about the city and it's history. Overall it was a good introduction to Bogotá.
We had a wonderful time touring Candelaria and learning about traditional Colombian foods. Fruits, coffee, and many other local specialities tempted our taste buds. This was also a great way to tour the old town with a local. Highly recommended.
The tour was so much fun! It was a feast of local specialties and a great walking tour of the La Candelaria neighborhood. Our guide Jose was tremendous. He found the best places to try more different foods than we could eat and they were all great. Highly recommend Jose and the tour.
This was a nice food tour to get you some knowledge on the various fruits of the region, trials of some Colombian coffee, and some Colombian staples from Bogota. We got to try Avena which is an oat drink, and have traditional arepas Bogota style. Our tour guide, Sergio, was awesome!! We really enjoyed his company, his humor, his knowledge, and his willingness to work with our group.
Sergio was the perfect guide for the tour with his superb knowledge of the region, the city, the culture and the food. He met us at our hotel and then we explored the area around La Candelaria taking in lots of little places for food and drink. He also gave us plenty of useful tips for the rest of our trip.
We had an amazing time on this tour. Luis was our tour guide and he did the best job making it feel so personal and intimate. We felt like we really got a taste of Colombia from his eyes and we loved it! 10/10 would recommend
I had the most fantastic experience on the culinary tour in La Candelaria, Bogota, hosted by the wonderful Dave. From start to finish, this tour was a delightful exploration of Colombia's rich culinary heritage, and Dave's passion and knowledge made it truly exceptional. The tour began with a captivating discussion about coffee, a beverage that is deeply embedded in Colombian culture. Dave's insights into the coffee-making process, from bean to brew, were not only informative but also incredibly engaging. I gained a newfound appreciation for the art of coffee production. As we continued our culinary adventure, Dave introduced us to a colorful array of exotic fruits, some of which I had never seen before. He provided fascinating details about their origins, flavors, and culinary uses. Tasting these fruits was a sensory delight, and I couldn't help but be impressed by Dave's expertise in this realm. And, to top it all off, Dave's enthusiasm for traditional Colombian games, like Tejo and Rana, added an unexpected layer of fun and camaraderie to the experience. These games provided a lively and enjoyable way to bond with fellow participants, capping off the tour on a high note.
David was a great host who took us to unique places in Candelaria for coffee and chocolate tasting as well as street bites and exotic Columbian fruits to try.
Our guide Sergio was fun and engaging. He was an expert in all things Bogota and Colombia. We really enjoyed trying all the different fruits, empenadas, boñuelos, arepas, and other typical Colombian fare.
Very nice tour, good balance of local flavor of both food and people. Good guide, very responsive to our specific requests. Foods we tasted were great
The tour was excellent and our guide Naty explained to us in detail and answered all our questions, a unique experience.
