Awesome, unique experience. Since i was the only one on the tour, David gave me an optiin to ride on a motircycle to the neighborhood. They do have car/bus transport available. Would definitly repeat.
Beautiful learning experience. There is culture living above the main city area and the view is spectacular.
What an incredible experience. Jorge, our driver, and our security guard are a fantastic team. The work they are doing for the community to bring awareness to this area of the city is incredible. They are investing so much back into the community to improve the lives of people in that area and also highlight community leaders who are inspiring in their neighborhoods. This tour exceeded any expectation and is going to be what I tell everyone else they must do. It was a half day but with free hotel pick up and drop off. Jorge was also so accommodating to my transportation and timing changes. My tour was myself and one other person and you can tell it’s just done for the passion. Jorge deserves to be supported. He has returned the investment by building a community center and playground in the neighborhood and I know more is to come. Additionally, this is the best view of the city- beats the Montserrate!
It’s been a great adventure and Jorge and the security guy ( sorry I forgot the name) were really excellent. If you are in Bogota highly recommend. It’s a different way to visit the city and the view is absolutely great. The murales are just fab
I am a person of short words, in essence my experience was awsome i enjoyed to view from every point i visited, the tour guide was very mannerly and pleasant, very much patient and respectful. It was the best experience of my life thus far :)
Jorge is a great guide — professional, knowledgeable, warm, friendly, and caring. He communicates well and responds quickly. I had a great time touring El Paraíso and experiencing TransMiCable with him. On the way back, we drove through the town, which was a big plus. I highly recommend him and will definitely recommend him to my family and friends.
Great communication before the activity and on day of activity. Collected from my hotel at the agreed time and the journey was smooth. My tour guide was the amazing Jorge David, who was very knowledgeable and great at taking pics! The cable car experience was super cool with the views of the favelas, and the tour day with street art and a complimentary snack and drink were fantastic! Definitely a highlight and would recommend to everyone to do this tour! Thank you again 🙏
Brilliant tour! Loved it! Tour guide David was very knowledgable and friendly. Would highly recommend this tour.
Jorge is a fantastic communicator. He reconfirmed the pick point and timing for the driver Marco. Marco was punctual and his car was spotless. He spoke a little bit of English and was very personable. We met Jorge and the rest of the small group and headed up the cablecar which was an experience in itself. Jorge and Juan split the group and gave the tour in English and Spanish. Jorge speaks fantastic English and is very knowledgeable about Bogata, a city he clearly loves. The information both historical and cultural was fantastic as was the stop at a local cultural center and cafe where Jorge treated us to a pastry and a drink. The view point was special and Jorge pointed out the different areas of the city. He is a fantastic photographer and offered on more than one occasion to take our photos. At the end of the tour we had an opportunity to visit the museum which gives some more information about the area. Jorge knows where all the clean bathrooms are and they are free of charge! I would highly recommend this tour. Both Jorge and Juan are fantastic guides! We only had one day in Bogata and Jorge gave us a fantastic and comprehensive city tour in the afternoon. We visited all the highlights and even had time to visit Montserate which gave us another vista. Marco picked us up and took us to different neighborhoods and then dropped us at our hotel.
I highly recommend this walking tour. Our guide was extremely informative, interactive, and very welcoming.
Definitely a must do when in Bogota. David the Guide/Owner was wonderful and very knowledgable. Lots of walking but well worth it. The views from the cable car and the top of the mountain were breath taking.
Great insight into the other side of Bogota. Guide was awesome and the entire tour was a highlight..
Excellent tour with David. The driver was punctual and David was very friendly, engaging and professional. He is very passionate about his country and the area we visited. I was extremely impressed how everyone seemed to to not only know him, but showed respect (even the stray dogs!). I love the fact the everyone in the favela seemed to be community oriented.
Although the guide was very nice, I didn’t think he was quite as knowledgeable about the area as maybe he could’ve been. It was still a great outing, and definitely something we are very glad we did!
Jorge is a legend! He is by far the best host and tour guide we have ever met. He treated us like family from day one, shared his beautiful apartment, and showed us the absolute best of Bogotá on his tour. His smile and laughter made us feel so welcome and at home. Nice to meet you, amigo! Highly, highly recommended! ☀️🙌
The experience is as described, a ride up in the TransMiCable and then a tour around El Mirador and Favela El Paraiso, with a stop in a nice bakery and a local artist's workshop. The guide was very helpful in answering questions and providing an insight and our security guard had some special stories to share. I definitely think that you should visit Ciudad Bolivar if you are in Bogota, as it really sheds light into an important part of Colombian history.
This was a truly incredible tour. The guide was fantastic and walking around this area was such an interesting experience. The views from the top are jaw dropping. This is an absolute must for anyone visiting Bogotá.
This was an EXCELLENT tour, both for me (who is interested in substantive topics such as history, social realities, and public policies) AND for my six-year old granddaughter (who had been longing to ride a cable car, and who enjoyed the wonderful park and beautiful murals at the top of the ride in Paraiso). David Cruz was a superb tour guide, highly professional, very knowledgeable, and flexible and accommodating of our interests. His assistant in Paraiso, a “social leader” in a nearby community, was also a pleasure to spend time with. David was super easy to coordinate and communicate with, and organized a friendly taxi driver to take us to and from our hotel. Altogether a truly wonderful afternoon. Highly recommended!
very interesting to see a different side of bogota!
I’m so glad I booked this tour. Our guide, David, confirmed the time and pickup the day before. The driver was very punctual to pick everyone up. Then the guide was very helpful and knowledgeable. It felt very safe and was a lot of fun. The snacks were delicious too. Highly recommend this tour.
Jhon was a fantastic guide! Very knowledgeable, very friendly. Would highly recommend to anyone who wants to see a different, yet still very vibrant, side of the city.
First impressions do go a long way. We were greeted by Mr. Jairo at our hotel after Which we were transported to the TransMiCabel station to begin our tour. At the station we were greeted by Mr.Jorge (Our tour guide who portrays a very pleasant and welcoming attitude throughout ) throughout the tour we were kept informed about the town and the history of the country. We got to take some spectacular photos, a video taken by Mr. Jeorge which I can never forget and also we were treated to some good food in the town. Everyone was friendly, even to the guy who took us around with his huge dogs. It is a very busy town and there’s a lot to see. If you intend to go be sure to have some good shoes and ensure you grab something to eat before you depart for the day.
It was a very interesting tour as most Colombians that we spoke to rarely if ever visited this area of Bogotá. Our driver arrived early, the car was very clean and he was an excellent driver. He drove us to the entrance to the cable car where we met our guide. The cable car is really pretty darn cool. It is the main transportation for the people who live on the mountain side. It is only about $1 US to ride the cable car. Once at the top we met a local leader who kept an eye out for our group to ensure our safety. I never felt unsafe during the tour. We learned about the history of the area and how it came to be so populated and how it is changing with continued immigration from Venezuela. The views were stunning. We stopped at a local bakery for a delicious snack and coffee. My advice is to bring a rain jacket as the weather is very unpredictable and wear comfy shoes.
Felt more like a training session for the tour guide trainee than a tour for me. Most of the the tour was the guide explaining and training a person wanting to be a tour guide. Riding in the cable car was the only part I enjoyed.
My experience with Autenticos travel was an experience out of the world 🌎 I first time on a cable car to Mirador el paraiso in Ciudad Bolivar and monserrate i got to meet the local eat local food meet with local rock bad it was a great experience an David guided us well and explained everything see you on a next tour contact David to book your today +57 311 8957642
Absolutely amazing.. Enjoyed every moment of it. Our tour guide and his assistant, as well as the pet(dog), lol was so hospitable. The rich history that was shared and the journey the people of colombia from they came ,absolutely magnificent.
To be sure: those are not really "favelas", in a sense we are used to think of them, but it's a place where real people live and go to work every day and keep the city of Bogotá moving. For us that was a more interesting experience than yet another museum that would not stay in memory for more than 10 minutes after we leave. We were delighted to make an acquaintance with John and David!
I had a fantastic cable car tour in the Paraíso area of Bogotá. The guide was very knowledgeable and made the experience both interesting and safe. The whole trip felt well organized from start to finish. Booking was smooth — clear communication via WhatsApp with pickup details, a friendly driver collecting us at the hotel, and a private group (max 5 people) which made the tour comfortable and personal. It was wonderful to see that part of Bogotá up close. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a safe, well-run, and informative cable car experience.
From the communication of picking me up at my hotel until returning me to my hotel was an excellent process & I'd recommend this tour to anyone who would like to see what this part of Colombia is all about. Explaining in detail, showing what is where and how long ago things started to become organized. We stopped and tried local foods also which were empanadas and those where amazing. Our tour guide and security was amazing. Definitely a 10/10 experience in Bogota
Spectacular tour! The best way to see the real art and history of the communities! The guides were amazing and it was a beautiful experience!
An amazing tour! I recommend it to anyone who wants to explore Bogota! We were so impressed with the preparation, the friendliness, and the willingness to share information about this part of Bogota. The guide was completely dedicated! You can't miss this tour while in Bogota!
It was a beautiful experience definitely recommend it to everyone.
What an amazing tour of Bogota, exceeded all my expectations. The views at the top of cable car were magnificent and breathtaking. Tour guide was brilliant, organised pick up and drop off to the airport and tailored the trip to our needs so we could have a stopover at the specific restaurant to eat. Bodyguard was also great and ensured our safety very well. The best choice for a stopover in Bogota!
This is a great way to see how humble this side of town the people are and how they are working as a community to make it better. Jorge and Jhon were excellent in showing us the work that is being done for the neighborhood as they pull together to make it a better place. I felt safe walking with our tour guides. Wear comfortable shoes/sneakers!
Very good half day trip, however, a lot of time was spent in the taxi to get to the meeting place. A 4 1/2 hour tour but one and a half hours in the car
You get exactly what the tour promises, a beautiful cable car ride up to the Paraíso favela. Wonderful street art and some of the best empanadas I’ve had anywhere in the world. David was an excellent guide, informative, well-connected, and perfectly paced throughout the walk. John provided his neighborhood charm, and our driver, Marco, did an excellent job navigating Bogota during rush hour.
An excellent tour. Really pleased we did a tour as our friendly and knowledgeable guide meant we saw so much more than if we had gone alone.
A Must-Do in Bogotá! From start to finish, the company's communication was top-notch. Our driver, Jairo, provided a great drive and fascinating local info, while our guide, Samuel, was brilliant—incredibly chilled but full of knowledge, making the whole experience interesting and truly enjoyable. Big thanks to Juan for his support throughout. The El Paraíso neighbourhood is a must-see. It's unique and the views from the cable car and hilltop are spectacular. We also enjoyed a delicious lunch. A great team. We highly recommend this authentic experience!
This was a fatastic tour! A truly authentic experience where you get to learn about the neighbourhood, its history and current arts & social projets. The cable car ride and views from the top are just stunning, with some of the best murals I’ve seen. Our tour guides were fantastic and really passionate about the social projects they introduced. The tour included a coffee and snacks at a local bakery as well. Overall, highly recommended!
We had an amazing experience and felt completely safe. The views were spectacular. We enjoyed strolling through the beautiful neighbourhood. We also appreciated the complimentary snacks and drinks at the local bakery.
Nice way to get to know the Paraiso neighbourhood and some social projects, by the hands of local guides.
The experience was good ,Our tour guide was warm and welcoming and had good energy. He with the social leader took very good care of the group.
A really good day! The driver picked me up on time, and we picked up the guide on route. Riding the teleférico was fun, and the colours of Ciudad Bolívar make for some good photos. It's sobering to see the conditions in which some still live, but I was glad to see & hear how much progress has been made bringing Ciudad Bolívar and its residents properly into the city, with reliable electricity, water, refuse collection, and of course public transport! In El Paraíso itself we picked up another local guide, who was discreetly armed in case of trouble. He was himself in a gang in his youth, but has 'reformed' and spends his time creating activities for today's young people to stop others following in his footsteps. It was fascinating to hear his history, and to learn about such voluntary social work. The favela didn't feel dangerous to walk around in this company, and simply looked like a poor neighbourhood but otherwise much like any other, except that much of it was covered in beautiful and brightly- coloured murals. The views over the city were also great!
The tour was fantastic , Jorge was an amazing guide, made me to welcome and at ease
We had a wonderful experience on the Ciudad Bolívar tour in Bogotá. Everyone involved was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and professional. Our guide was amazing, not only knowledgeable, but also gave us great tips on how to film the most interesting videos and capture the atmosphere of the neighborhood. We felt completely safe throughout the entire tour, and the team made sure we were comfortable at every moment. Overall, we were very happy with the experience and would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Bogotá.
Well organized, absolutely safe, very encouraged guide, we did some locals games in between and got safe street food! —> I highly recommend this tour to get a better understanding of the people Living there
A great way to see a different part of Bogota and meet some of the local people from El Paraíso. Tour guide David was helpful and friendly. Recommended.
One really gets an in-sight into a different side of life in Bogotá other than the touristic one. It has been a very enriching experience.
