When I booked my trip I didn’t realize it was also a coffee experience. I was just looking to zone out in the middle of nowhere and disconnect. That’s exactly what I got. I did come right after Holy Week/ spring break (April) so I basically had the place all to myself which was kind of wild and awesome. The cabins were wild. You’re half in and outside. There wasn’t really any internet (amazing) but I did have a nightly spider visiting me which was terrifying. The view from my room was beautiful and the bed was comfortable.the view was next level. Some of the experiences I wanted to try like bird watching (why not try it) didn’t seem available but i am sure if I had asked they would have made it happen. The coffee tour was amazing but damn was it a work out. I live 500ft above sea level and this was 9000ft so I definitely struggled on the walk from the hotel to the farm. My tour guide just walking up that hill with ease (in jeans and hair down). They did offer a the perfect hiking trail that was made so it would be impossible to get lost. I also realized I don’t like hiking. But I did love that it was available for those that like hiking. Breakfast each morning was amazing. I’ve never had a better avocado in my life. Dinners and lunches were good too. Knowing that everything came from the farm and the surrounding area made me appreciate every bite more. The hotel manager arranged travel for me from the airport and back. Andreas, my driver was awesome. He took the scenic route and on my way back out of town he took me through bogota for the day. I wish I would have explored bogota more but after being in literal paradise for a week it was hard to get back in the car and be surrounded by people. Pros: Amazing staff & service Views impeccable The opportunity to learn something new was amazing Cool and unique rooms Limited internet No tvs Cons: Not really any Suggestions: A plug in fan in the room would be great, there were too many ants and critters to get a fresh breeze The food was great but I wish the would have been more traditional Colombian options. Experiencing a country’s cuisine only adds to the experience. I know they try to keep a zero carbon footprint and utilize the farms within a certain radius but pasta five nights in a row, though it was great, was a bit much. I will definitely be back. It was a great experience.

This is a fantastic place for anyone interested in learning about sustainability, community impact and even better coffee culture. The hotel is impressive, food is healthy, natural and delicious. The staff is super helpful, friendly and amazing coffee teachers. The coffee tour is a most!!! We just left and can't wait to be back. Highly recommend to anyone interested in deeping his knowledge in coffee.
Incredibly delicious organic food all sourced locally. A bit remote despite being so close to Bogotá (closer to 2-3 or more hours each way) and an amazing living example of sustainable agriculture and sustainable tourism. Well worth the relatively expensive price. The coffee tour is wonderful (Kelly was a true star), but is a bit long at 3-1/2 hours and requires excellent physical shape for participants. Recommended if you understand the associated challenges re access and length (time-wise) of the coffee tour. My cabin (Eucalipto) had a few too many gaps and spaces at doors and windows (when closed) that allowed insects to enter at night. Overall a five star experience.
La Palma y El Tucan is a truly magical experience nestled in beautiful mountain forests and really made our Colombia trip! I used their taxi service as the trio from Bogota can be a bit involved. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed in with coffee and delicious farm-to-table lunch. Our cabin was cozy and well-stocked with a beautiful cloud forest view. We tried the activities offered by the hotel or in partnership with local guides, including the coffee farm tour and tasting, birdwatching, butterfly sanctuary, and stingless bee sanctuary. Honestly, I’d recommend them all as they’re unique and thorough, definitely enriched my perspective greatly.
We had a spectacular stay. The hotel is located in the middle of the sub-Andean forest, surrounded by stunning vegetation; it’s perfect for disconnecting. The staff is very friendly, highly attentive, and has deep knowledge of the place and the entire coffee process. The facilities are very comfortable and cozy, and the activities available are really great.
