Absolutely discusted by the service of this hotel and the customer service in general!! Booked an over night stay from 18th-19th September. Booked a room with a hot tub, upon check in and before check in we was not made aware that the hot tub facility that we had paid for was not in use!! Infact non of the hot tub facilities in the other rooms were also not in use (non working).. after having pre drinks in the bar we checked the hot tub to get it up and running to find no water in there! Night manager was amazing who advised a full refund upon check out. (Not doable as booked through 3rd party).. numerous calls were made to the hotel from booking.com along with emails, to which no one answers the phone or their emails! Ive been chasing this refund now since the 19th of September! To be told "manager is currently on annual leave"... rang through numerous times to customer relations who have opened up a case! The hotel was given a deadline to contact me yesturday (5th October).. to which no suprise no one has contacted me about my refund! Im now having to chase this up again to be put through on hold again!! Is this really how you treat your customers? Would not reccomend this hotel at all! Avoid!

First time staying at the Voco hotel, wow is all I need to say because it is a beautiful hotel but you can see it's starting to show it's age. Ian had checked me in and was super friendly, I was also recognised as an IHG member. The room I booked was unavailable but Ian had upgraded me to another room which was super lush and just amazing, clean and looked after and the bathroom was nice, spacious and clean. Location isn't that bad, a 15/20 minute walk to the train station and 20ish minutes into the city centre. I had to check out really early in the morning and the member of staff that was on, she was lovely but didn't know her name. It's a 10/10 stay for me even if it was for a short time but I'd stay it again. Stayed on the 8th of September 2026.
There is a lot to like about this hotel, which makes the problems with my stay particularly disappointing. The location is excellent, especially if you are visiting the University of Leicester, and the breakfast was genuinely very good. The hotel is also beautifully decorated and, at first glance, feels stylish and well maintained. The physical facilities themselves are generally of a high standard. Unfortunately, my experience was let down by housekeeping and poor follow-up when problems were reported. On my first night, I found that the shower drain was badly blocked. It took more than ten minutes for the water to drain after I had finished showering. The shower gel provided in the room was also extremely watery and appeared to have been diluted or tampered with. I tried calling the front desk, but nobody answered, so I reported both issues by email. The room had also been left with only around half a roll of toilet paper, which was not enough for my stay at all. I literally used it up in the first night. The following day, while I was out, housekeeping fixed the blocked drain, which I appreciated. However, they did not replenish the toilet paper or replace the shower gel. By the time I returned to the hotel that evening, the toilet paper holder still contained only an empty cardboard roll and the shower gel was still in the same condition. I then called the front desk again, and this time someone answered promptly. Within half an hour, a full roll of toilet paper and a new bottle of shower gel were delivered to my room. I appreciated the quick response, but it was frustrating that these basic items had not been replenished during housekeeping, especially after I had already reported the issue. These were not problems with the quality of the building or facilities. They were basic housekeeping issues that should have been noticed when the room was prepared. Another point worth knowing, particularly for solo travellers, is that the king bed in my room was made from two smaller mattresses pushed together. I personally found this less comfortable when sleeping alone than a conventional queen mattress. Overall, this feels like a hotel with very good hardware but inconsistent management. Three stars.
Had an great 1 night stay here for the Caribbean reggae festival. I picked this hotel because It was only a 1 mile walk to the venue. Plus it had parking, which you do have to pre book & pay an additional fee of £20, but that's no problem. Staff very efficient & helpful. Hotel very clean & tidy. Room was spacious & great lay out. My only complaint was the bed & pillow are way too soft for me. But that's just my personal preference.
We stayed at voco Leicester for a wedding, and from start to finish the team couldn’t have been more accommodating. Everything was well organised, the hotel was spotless, and our room was comfortable. A special thank you to Sonia and Alex, who were both so friendly, welcoming, and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Their excellent customer service really made our stay memorable. We’d happily stay here again and would highly recommend voco Leicester to anyone visiting Leicester. Thank you, Sonia and Alex!
