We use this hotel as a base for the yearly show we attend at the NEC so location wise it’s perfect. The room we booked was standard 4 star and the service is good from the front desk. Breakfast and the private lounge are musts as an upgrade for me. Breakfast hall is busy so allow time. But a good selection is on offer for your first meal of the day. Our room had a couch instead of a chair, room for two viewers if you understand the joke 😉 but the air con could have been a little more aggressive. Comfy bed and decent size TV also added comforts. Overall this hotel comfortably meets its rating.

Reviews
We stayed at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole on Saturday night ready to attend Gladiators live at the NEC the following day. I had been a bit concerned about the stay as a number of recent reviews had been quite negative. I have to say our experience did not reflect that at all. The room itself was on the first floor and was a really decent size. I was a little concerned about the temperature in the room given that the UK had been experiencing a heatwave, but the rooms felt comfortable and a fan had been provided and was already switched on ahead of our arrival. The room was clean and tidy and well presented. The only small negative is that the cold tap on the bath didn't work at all, literally nothing came out when turned so we could only shower. There was a really good selection for breakfast and I felt the breakfast room was well laid out and comfortable. The key highlight of this hotel is definitely it's location. We took a taxi from the station on arrival but later realised you could cut through the hotel and do the journey easily on foot. Google maps is unfortunately very deceptive with its routing! We are already planning to stay again for another event later in the summer.
I would like to warmly recognise both Syed and Jamie for their exceptional customer service during my stay. Syed, in the breakfast area, is always welcoming, attentive, and helpful, consistently going above and beyond to ensure guests have everything they need and making every breakfast experience truly enjoyable. Jamie, in the Executive Lounge, is equally outstanding. He is professional, friendly, and always willing to assist, creating a welcoming atmosphere and ensuring guests feel valued and well looked after. His attention to detail and commitment to guest satisfaction are deeply appreciated. Both Syed and Jamie are fantastic ambassadors for the hotel, and their hard work, positive attitudes, and exceptional service have made my stay especially enjoyable and memorable.
Rooms are always pretty good. Service is great, especially front of house. I had had a lovely man called Nick on the concierge service who helped me with my bag and parking after it wasn't added on my Hilton app. My colleague also was helped by Natalia at on the front desk when her parking wasn't added on also. There is loads of parking and access to resort world and the NEC is very easy. I have stayed 3 times in the past year because of the great overall service and after a long day you want reliable great service.
I came here for a large work function of 350+ people. I was really impressed with the organisation of the hotel, especially bearing in mind it's size. Everything was handled efficiently whilst being done to a high standard. Dinner was excellent bearing in mind the number of people to serve. Room was a good size. Breakfast was also a great experience.
