Sercotel Ayala Bilbao

Good location, walkable to restaurants and shopping. 15 mins walk to The Guggenheim. Friendly staff. Didn't like the mosquitoes inside the room.

Solid hotel with comfortable modern room. As prices were already high during peak season we upgraded to a suite for a little extra. Excellent beds, very clean and spacious room with lounge area/sofa bed and long balcony/terrace. Lovely reception staff. Hotel lobby, amenities etc are more what you’d expect from 3* hotel - certainly not a luxury feel to the hotel. There is no restaurant or bar. After we arrived we added breakfast for 9.95 each, but this was disappointing even for a small price. Quite limited options, not great quality and unfriendly service. Location is excellent - short walk to both old town and Guggenheim. We expected more due to paying over €200 for room only, but if you go off peak then a great option for nearer €100.

Great location in Bilbao. In walking distance to practically everything you need to see in Bilbao. Room is super clean and has some room to move around for 2 people. I had requested for a room with shower cabin and was granted one. Soundproofing is also pretty good. Has some good restaurants around. If you prebook the breakfast, it is 11€ per person.

Sercotel Ayala was a nice hotel in a great central location, opposite El Corte Ingles and a 10 minute walk from the old town. The beds were really comfortable and the hotel had good soundproofing. We weren’t impressed by the weak shower over the bath, and the bath is also dangerously slippery which could lead to a serious injury if not corrected in all of their rooms. It's also disappointing they do not provide any free water in the room, and we were also disappointed that the coffee machine in the reception area is not free to use.
