The rooms were excellent, and the breakfast buffet was outstanding, offering a very generous selection of fresh products. These aspects of the hotel definitely deserve praise. Unfortunately, the service at the rooftop bar was an absolute disappointment and fell far below what I would expect from a five-star hotel. We experienced very long waiting times just to get served, and the staff appeared unmotivated and were not particularly friendly. The overall atmosphere lacked the attentive and welcoming service you would expect at this level. Even small details were disappointing. Coffee was served without even a small sweet treat on the side, something I would consider standard in a five-star establishment. Drinks were also simply placed on the table rather than being poured for the guests. On another occasion, I wanted to order a tea at 5:14 pm, only to be told that tea and coffee could no longer be ordered after 5 pm. Refusing a simple tea order just 14 minutes after this cut-off, without offering any flexibility, felt unnecessarily rigid and certainly not in keeping with the standards of a five-star hotel. Overall, the excellent rooms and fantastic breakfast were let down by the rooftop bar experience. The hotel has a lot of potential, but the service needs significant improvement to live up to its five-star rating.

Pleasant stay in the centre of Bilbao The hotel is very centrally located in Bilbao, making it easy to reach many places on foot. The rooms are spacious and well maintained, and the bathroom is beautiful. The breakfast was very good and offered a sufficient variety of options. One minor area for improvement would be the service in the breakfast area. The staff could be somewhat more attentive and welcoming. There is also an à la carte breakfast option, but unfortunately, no one came to take our order. In addition, the shower in our bathroom was leaking, which was somewhat inconvenient. Overall, we had a pleasant stay and found the staff to be very friendly. We would be happy to stay here again on a future visit to Bilbao.
The hotel has a central location and the rooms are nice and big, the gym is fine and it has a pool. The hotel staff are not friendly and completely chaotic. Reception gave me the wrong information about lunch time and looked baffled when I asked if they can organize a taxi to the airport. The rooftop bar told me the only lunch they had was cocktail food and the restaurant has a set menu and is closed on certain days. None of this information was given to us at checkin. The waiter kept asking me “then what do you want to eat” like i am at a market or I should come up with the dish. I felt pressured so I did and he told me they don’t have it. I also was suggested to have room service which doesn’t make sense since i was at the restaurant already. I travel frequently and never encountered something like this before, especially not at a 5 star hotel. It felt frustrating and confusing. It really is a shame because the hotel has a nice ambiance.
This a beautiful hotel located in the heart of the city of Bilbao. The hotel was immaculate & the staff were so kind & welcoming, especially Cristina. Nothing was too much trouble. There is a good selection of food at breakfast however, it would have been nice to have a microwave as the food was only just warm. We had a couple of mistakes with the drinks orders at the roof top bar. The bar itself was beautiful & well thought out & presented well & as usual it was immaculate. The only suggestion I have is that we could have done with a mirror above the dresser in the bedroom. Maybe a seat in the shower area as I have mobility problems. If ever we revisit Bilbao we would definitely return to this hotel but maybe to an adapted room for the disabled. I never made the booking so this was an oversight on our part. Thank you for the lovely stay & to all the staff who looked after us.
The hotel is in an excellent central location, just a 2-minute walk from the main train station and about 10 minutes from Guggenheim museum. It is also surrounded by plenty of shops, cafés, bars, and restaurants, making it a very convenient base for exploring the city. Unfortunately, the hotel appears to be understaffed. The reception team was doing everything they could to help guests, often going beyond their regular duties. For example, they even had to bring basic amenities to the rooms because no one from housekeeping or room service was available. I'd especially like to thank Cristina and Pablo, who were consistently friendly, professional, and genuinely helpful throughout our stay. Our room phone was not working, and there was no shower gel in the bathroom upon arrival. While these issues were eventually addressed, they reflect a lack of attention to detail. The hotel's restaurant was another disappointment. The service was slow and unremarkable, and the food was even less impressive. Considering the overall standard of the hotel, the restaurant fell well below expectations. Overall, the location and the dedication of the reception staff were the highlights of our stay. However, the hotel would benefit from better staffing levels and improved maintenance.
