The Hôtel de la Plage is a stylish and beautifully presented hotel in one of the best locations in Biarritz, but what makes it special is the people who work there. They were all so friendly and helpful, we immediately felt at home and well looked after. We had a brilliant week and we miss it already!
Great hotel and as regular visitors to Biarritz, I beleive the perfect location at (Little beach) as we call it.. Access to all main beaches with ease and shopping / cafes etc. Out of the past 6 visits and stays to Biarritz at various locations around the great town, we have found the perfect spot to stay
I found the Hotel de La Plage online, and based on great reviews, location and photos I decided it would be a nice fit for our 4 nights in Biarritz. I was not disappointed! Not only the hotel was even nicer in person, but the convenience of the location (across the street from the Plage du Port Vieux; walking distance from most points of interest, bars and restaurants), great customer service, and comfort of the hotel facilities made for a great experience in Biarritz.
Overall, a good hotel, very nicely decorated. Service is OK, but not great - and this would make the difference. Two reasons: 1. Check-In: We were guided to the parking space next to the hotel (Parking for disabled). At the time of unloading, the police came and fined us. Such things happen, and it would be easy to "compensate with a free drink on the roof terrace" 2. During Check-In, breakfast on the roof terrace was promised. The next morning, breakfast was on the ground floor. Despite the breakfast being very good - another disappointment. Otherwise, nicely located, modern and nice.
Lunch today with friends, very long time before our order was taken although the waiter kept saying he was coming. It took more than one hour before a waiter came.... On our reserved table, the ashtray was still having cigarette buds inside... The waiter removed it very kindly!
