The WWll Walking tour was fantastic! Seth did an outstanding job taking us through the history of the war in Berlin! Make sure you ask for Seth, a historian in his own right. Seth presentation kept my wife and I engaged for the 4 hour tour. He allowed us to set the walking pace which was great! I highly recommend this tour if you are looking for a strong historical perspective.

Our excellent guide, Betty, made this an enlightening and informative experience. She was extremely knowledgeable about WWII, the Cold War and Berlin’s evolution as a city. During the walk through the streets, she kept us engaged and entertained. A must-do tour!
Excellent guide very engaging and passionate. Loved this tour, fascinating and very interesting, highly recommend!
Betty is such an amazing amazing guide! She is super passionate and sympathetic about everything - would recommend this walking tour to all who came to Berlin and wants to know more abt the history and hidden gem of Berlin.
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Boyd through the streets of Berlin. He was a wealth of knowledge and a World War II history buff. So we fit right in. We asked him to show us how the trains work and how to get from point A to point B. We learned a lot from our walks amongst historical sites and monuments. We ended up at a food hall that had some of the best pasta ever tasted. Who knew? so thanks again, Boyd and we’ll see you when we pass through here again. Lee & Kathy
We had a great day out with Boyd exploring Berlin’s history. Boyd was able to tailor his tour for our teenagers and provide some fantastic insights for this amazing city.
Enjoyed my stroll around Berlin with Seth. He tailored the tour to my interests and we got a lot into our time. Would definitely recommend him.
Betty was a fun and entertaining guide for our WWII History of Berlin tour. We enjoyed her energy and humor - she made the 4 hours fly by! I highly recommend her as your guide in Berlin.
Visiting Berlin with Michele was a tour de force in seeing the important sights in the present day city center and understanding the events and forces that shaped it over the centuries. In one amazing morning Michèle walked us around the key cultural, educational and political sites and enabled us to navigate the city. She was flexible with accommodating our interests. She even gave us some excellent recommendations for restaurants. I highly recommend her tour to first time visitors and returning visitors who want to get an in-depth understanding of the city.
Chris knows the history and architecture of Berlin extremely well and presents it very comprehensively. He answered all our questions and tailored the tour to our interests. A great and very pleasant guide. Highly recommend him.
Betty took us on a tour of Berlin and almost immediately it felt like old friends being taken around to see the history and highlights of this fascinating place. Betty provided great background and pointed out things we wouldn’t have known about (such as the checkpoint station). We talked about lots of things from the war/Cold War history to how Berliners see themselves now. She was great company and very accommodating when we decided we had to look at everything in the museum at the Berlin Wall. It was a great day and if we get back to Berlin we’ll definitely be booking Betty on another tour
Betty was a great companion for our tour— she was both knowledgeable but also gave real world context for a lot of the history we were learning about. In many ways, her own life experience informed a lot of our tour — in a good way. The four hours flew by and we covered a lot of ground. I highly recommend Betty.
Seth was punctual, kind, engaging and showed us many corners of Berlin that we never would have seen on our own. He answered all of our questions and told us plenty of stories about the places we were seeing as well as the historic perspective on the city. A great day! Thank you!
Sara, is such a lovely guide. Gave us lots of background information about Berlin and Germany. We had seen some of the main attractions so she gave us additional information on them. She changed the tour and got to see lots of off the beaten track areas and interesting information. Our teenage kids throughly enjoyed the tour. Would recommend Sara to people to get an understanding of Berlin and German history.
I lived in Berlin for one year in the early 90's. I've been coming back on a regular basis for 12 years now, to meet my friends and breath Berlin's air and vibes. I booked a tour with Sara for me and my 3 quite grown up daughters, who love Berlin and are interested in history and like to learn new stuff. Sara is a wonderful guide. She explained us in a very easy going way and very pedagogically how Berlin turned into the important and very special city she now is. She told us many vivid things about WWII, the raise of Nazism, how Germany became Germany. She took us to places random tourists never go to. Sara is a professional but in no way a "boring teacher". She brought up a critical view on the German history. Furthermore she's a very nice person. And she suggested us a wonderful restaurant she particularly likes for our lunch. We absolutely recommend Sara as guide and thank her very much.
Extremely worthwhile Berlin experience. Seth is an outstanding guide who brought the history of Berlin during the wars into clear focus. The 4 hours went quickly as we explored Berlin’s many known and less known places of historical relevance. Seth throughout the tour explained the significance of places with thorough knowledge and welcomed all questions. So pleased we did this tour.
Seth was fantastic from our first contact, personalising a half day tour to include all the things we wanted to see, and making other suggestions we perhaps wouldn’t have thought of. His knowledge of the city and planning meant we were able to see everything we wanted to during the tour. Seth was personable, knowledgable, and respectful of our time at the landmarks/monuments we visited. His broad knowledge of Berlin history gave us insights into the city that we wouldn’t have gotten had we just visited these places ourselves. He was also more than willing to answer questions, give recommendations, and take photos. Thank you Seth for a wonderful tour.
We had a really entertaining walk with Betty. We had only 2.5 hours and she managed to show us a lot. She was funny, had great energy. Would have liked a few more details in some places (my daughter and I are history buffs!) but we got a lot of information which we would not have otherwise known. She was also very helpful about what else we should do and see in the city and responsive to all our questions. Definitely recommend.
We had a lovely time with Claudia. She adjusted the tour to our requirements (injured back, not too much walking) and made it very relaxed but still full of sights and interesting stories. As a local, teacher and traveller she has a lot of personal stories to share about the history of Berlin and the GDR. I really enjoyed her sense of humour and her easy-going way of connecting with us, as if we've been friends. I would recommend to anyone to book a tour with Claudia as I think she can create a great experience based on individual interests. Thank you Claudia!
Our family recently spent half a day with Boyd on a historical tour of Berlin and had the most wonderful and fantastic time. Boyd was simply a veritable fountain of knowledge on all things Berlin be it the city’s history, buildings, culture, things to do, etc. Boyd isn’t a guide that simply points out what building you are seeing on “your left”, rather he skillfully weaves a narrative throughout the tour that puts what you are seeing into a historical context which leaves visitors to Berlin with an understanding and appreciation of the complex history of Berlin and he ties it all to the Berlin we see and experience today. Being history geeks, we peppered Boyd with questions, and he expertly, carefully, and patiently answered every single one. Our group included a couple of teenagers and Boyd easily managed to keep their interest also. We would not hesitate to book another tour with Boyd and would highly recommend anyone visiting Berlin to do so.
We were fortunate to get connected with Michelle and she was amazing. It’s worth every penny to do the private tour as you really go at your own pace, delve deeper into interesting topics etc. Michelle was energetic, engaging and wicked intelligent about everything historically. She engaged in deep discussions in the meaning of the events and the people of Berlin. Highly recommend.
Violeta was our tour guide for this 4 hour tour. Her knowledge of the history was excellent and we came away well informed. Violeta is very personable and answered all of our questions perfectly. I would recommend this tour and Violeta without hesitation.
Boyd was a great a host. He took us to places that interested me and my family. He is very knowledgeable, a pleasant person to be around, and an overall great guy. Boyd interacted very well with my son and kept him engaged. He will take you on a historic tour of Berlin that will leave you fascinated with the city.
An off the beaten track look at socioeconomic history, architecture and much more which was delivered with the gravitas of a man who has made Berwin his home for decades. Highly highly recommended. Boid is somewhat of a cultural and historical polymorph. Clearly very well read and highly engaging. My boy (13 yrs old) learned a lot.
Our guide Seth was wonderful. He was so knowledgeable about all things Berlin weaving stories of WWII and the Cold War throughout the four and a half hours of our tour. Thank you Seth for a memorable day
Miha took us all around Berlin showing us some amazing sights and telling us interesting stories about Berlin's history. He was funny, charming and informative. At the end of the tour he even pointed us to his favorite restaurant.
I would recommend Seth 1000% if there was such a thing! I was visiting Berlin on a short trip with my son who will be doing his GCSE exams next summer, one of which is in history. We needed to visit many Berlin sights relating to WW2, the holocaust and the Cold War and get as knowledgeable as possible!! I hired Seth as our guide and I am so glad that I did. Seth knows his history, made the experience incredibly interesting, gave us information that we couldn't have acquired had we visited the sights and museums on our own, made it so much easier to navigate Berlin as we had some distances to travel, was kind, punctual and since he is a native English speaker (which I hadn't expected) communication was easy. It was an unforgettable trip to Berlin and although what we were there to learn about is intense and often times dark it was incredibly interesting. Had Seth not been part of our Berlin experience we would not have learnt as much as we did or been able to see as much as we did. I highly recommend Seth!
Betty was soo much fun to be around snd she brought a very candid and exciting perspective of the city while covering the notable WWII events and beyond that took place. It was a very cold day, but time went extremely fast with her and left feeling a true understanding of the events that took place in Berlin
Seth took us (family of four, with two teenage sons) on the WOII tour through Berlin. He was knowledgable, fun and flexible. He answered all of our questions (and with our sons, that’s a lot of questions!) and threw in plenty of his own facts, tales and stories. We learned a lot of new stuff and refreshed our existing historical knowledge. The tour enriched and entertained us, despite the gloomy subject matter. We couldn’t have asked for more. Seth was simply a wonderful guide!
Boyd has done an amazing job in showing us around the city and telling us a lot of stories. He doesn’t only touch the main history but also talks about the architecture of buildings and the cold war. We learned a lot of stuff we otherwise would have missed. Boyd has a nice way of explaining with examples and a great voice to listen too. He checks regularly if we got it and we could ask questions whenever we wanted. Thanks for this great experience!
Boyd shared such great info about the background of Berlin and what shaped this city before and after the war. Amazing local knowledge and highlighted so much interesting architecture. A great intro to that gave so much more than a standard tour.
Boyd was fantastic, we had an amazing time learning about Berlin. He took the time to show us several sites of historic importance and even took it above and beyond to show us several christmas markets! I would highly recommend Boyd to everyone.
Boyd was fantastic from start to finish. Very communicative before meeting and tailored the tour for what we wanted to see. Informative, personable and great to have around for the morning, settling us into Berlin life. Would definitely recommend Boyd without a doubt
My parents and I had a wonderful tour with Boyd. He was very knowledgeable and friendly and never minded answering any questions we had. He took us to some places we wouldn't have found on our own. It was also a chilly day so be made sure we had places to stop and get warm and even have a berliner and coffee. I would definitely recommend this tour for anyone interested in history and getting a real feel for the city.
We have often travelled to Berlin to visit friends and family, covering the tourist spots through to local events. This time we decided we wanted to learn about the True Berlin, what has made it so unique and the people so open to accepting the varient of cultures and classes. Boyd went off script to show us what we had not seen and took us through the centuries, religon, different classes into an era where you started to get the glimpse of what makes Berlin so unique. We went through what we thought were private courtyards into the back streets which are hidden to only those that are local. We saw inside of buildings that have been instrumental in evolving the history of this nation. Boyd is well known on the circuit and this enabled us to see parts of Berlin a normal soul would not have access to. A day we will remember as it opened our eyes to the history of the people and its streets.
Sara, our tour guide was great! Made the whole tour very interesting. Answered all our questions. Very knowledgeable of WWII.
We spent the morning with Boyd touring the main & lesser-known parts of the city as he described in detail the history of Berlin. He is a wealth of information & it was such an enjoyable tour. We could have walked and talked with him all day if our feet didn’t give out. While we discussed WWII, the historical context that Boyd provided, from the Prussians through to today gave us a chance to view Berlin from a different perspective. We discussed the architecture and the culture of Berlin as well. Truly a great experience with Boyd and we would highly recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in an immersive thought-provoking tour of the city. Thank you, Boyd!
Excellent guide - Seth Brilliant guide, taught us so much about Berlins history And a lovely chap. It was just my husband and I and Seth so he tailored the tour to what we asked to see.
Betty was incredible, she gave such a great tour, and her knowledge was fantastic, learned a lot from her and if we get a chance to take another tour with her we will absolutely!
Spent a fabulous 4 hours with Amelia walking and talking through the sights and various buildings in Berlin. Most buildings you just walk past but a walk with Amelia gets you to understand the significance of them within Berlin's history. You also cover many of the key highlights of Berlin's past and present. Amelia is a great guide, happy to talk about most things and having been in Berlin for 8 years she provides a great insight from someone who is able to speak in a balanced way having lived and observed life over that time
I love working with locals!! The people are knowledgeable and fun. We booked a 3 hour tour on bike with Boyd. He was very generous with his time and knowledge and went overtime an hour. He had a great attitude and pasion for history. We would totally recommend him.
Seth was a superb tour guide He has excellent knowledge on a wide array of Berlin related topics I would most definitely recommend him as a guide - group or solo
Very informative and flexible. Really friendly guide who added significant levels of knowledge to the tour. Great value. Lots of walking (15,000 steps for those who count) but plenty of chance to stop and take refreshment. Probably not good for small children unless the guide is notified in advance.
So many things to see in Berlin and it was done at the right pace with the right details for us. Our tour guide was great and fun as well.
Michelle was highly educated due to her lifelong passion for the subject matter, pleasant to be with, and she happens to be an opera singer. What more can you wish for for an interesting tour. We learned a lot. Thank you!
I had a non-native guide and to my surprise, he is passionate about tell the Berlin story. He waited while I ran late because of road closure and provided me every opportuntoy to tailer the itinerary to my liking. He is not opininated and told only the facts and left everything else for me to decide which I enjoy, and a neutral perspective from a guide can be uncommon.
The guide was very knowledgeable and fun. She took us all over Berlin unfortunately on mondays the museums were closed but we got to go to several other interesting sites. At the end she recommended a couple restaurants for us to try for dinner. She did a great job!!!
Guide (Pablo) showed us all the key highlights of the city along with some hidden gems. He offered so much more than the basics & was perceptive of our goals & needs.
Boyd was very knowledgeable and personable. Great tour. We waited for us when we accidentally went on The wrong tour.
Betty was passionate with high energy out of the gate. Betty has a comprehensive knowledge of Berlin’s history and off the beaten path of interesting points. She tailored points of interest based on our questions. My son and I were the only ones for a group and time just went by like a speeding projectile ( That’s for you Betty!). We would highly recommend Betty as your choice in guides.
