Not quite as advertised. Hidden gems…suspect. Lee was competent but not terribly engaging. Requested a delay in starting time which we accommodated but confusing communication regarding the meeting point led in further delay. I have taken many viator tours and this one was disappointing

Seth was an interesting guide , although not locals knew a lot about the city. Enjoyed really the street art shared from the not so popular ones to the East Side Gallery. Seth was patient too , wasn’t rushing l, good photographer too !
Betty was a fantastic guide. Her genuine enthusiasm and excitement were infectious. Great escape from tourism to see the lesser known (to the general public) counterculture spots around Berlin.
Lee is a great storyteller that provided perspective, context, interesting details and fun facts to parts of Berlin that we never would have gotten to know without him.
We had a great morning exploring the city and its street art with Betty. Would Highly recommend this as an option to see a different side of Berlin.
Excellent walking tour personalized to our interests. Seth is quite knowledgeable and is easygoing with a chill vibe.
Great tour with a guide that clearly loves his city. Meha is knowledgeable, passionate of all things Berlin, and a fun person.
Betty is such a nice person with a phenomenal general knowledge. The tour was super interesting, fun and entertaining. Betty is an extraordinary person. We felt like we had known each other forever. Best guide we've had so far.
Miha was a wonderful host. He took us to places we would have never found on our own. He was a wealth of interesting Berlin knowledge. Thank you Miha!!!
I did the K'burg tour with WithLocals. Seth was a great guide and showed me parts of the city I would not have experienced another way. I had mentioned that I was interested in the local history, architecture, and street art and he made a real effort to integrate those into our tour. I have taken another less expensive tour, but I can confidently say that you get what you pay for with a personal guide. It is worth the extra money to have someone who has a deeper knowledge of the area and can customize things for your interests. I highly recommend the K'burg tour with Seth.
As we had previously been to Berlin, we were looking for something a bit different and Martin provided us with a real jewel of a tour. We enjoyed an amazing and entertaining tour of some of Berlin's lesser known, but truly interesting historical sites. Martin was happy to curate a tour that addressed our specific request to visit a cemetery, as well being so knowledgeable to modify the tour on the fly when we were running up against a time deadline. Martin clearly loves Berlin and loves showing it off. We cannot recommend Martin enough and assure all that you will not be disappointed.
With Miha, we explored an array of passages, nooks, and neighborhoods that we would have walked by and never known that they were there or known to visit. Miha gave us insight into the communities we visited and what living in this dynamic city is like.
Loved the Jewish quarter courtyards-beautiful tiled buildings in one and garden oasis in the other, enjoyed the atmosphere and all the art at Dead Cat Alley especially Little Lucy and also visit to Otto Weidt museum who was blind and employed blind people including Jews during WWII, passing by former hospital that is now an installation art gallery, and of course seeing the Kiss mural at East Side Gallery. Ended in a hipster neighborhood nearby and sampled some yum hand pulled noodles. Thank you Betty for taking us around.
Excellent tour especially for your 1st day in Berlin. We really got a sense of the city and an understanding of the culture. Michele was a great guide.
Do this tour if you want to see a vibrant colorful neighborhood full of graffiti filled courtyards or the section of the Berlin Wall covered in healing art or hear stories you won't hear on your WWII and Cold War tours. My guide Pablo was very knowledgeable and passionate about sharing Berlin with me.
We booked an ‘off the beaten track tour’ with Seth. It was a great afternoon taking in many areas which you just wouldn’t see ordinarily, along with some more mainstream ones. Seth was a great guide, highly recommended and very knowledgeable about Berlin and its culture. He tailored the tour as we went so we spent some time exploring the fabulous street art, an afternoon rave and the East Side Gallery. Being on a private tour is a far better experience than joining a large group and you learn so much more about the city and the people that you are visiting.
Prepare to be entertained and informed. You will see places that you would otherwise miss out on. Dedicate must do if you have a few days in Berlin
Our guide was a nice guy but not a true local. He was an American grad student who had limited knowledge of the area. We could have done this on our own.
Betty was so informative and passionate about her subject. We learned so much and thoroughly enjoyed it.
I took this tour on Oct 26, and it felt a bit more of a “stroll along some neighborhoods” rather than a full-on tour. A big portion of the tour was in the area of Kreuzberg, which might be a really cool area, but our guide didn’t provide enough storytelling on why the area was so special. Instead, it ended up feeling like a lot of walking without much curation. (Might be better to make this a night tour if this neighborhood comes alive at night) The last 45mins of the tour picked up though since we passed the East Side Gallery and got dropped off in the Friedrichshain area. I wish we stayed longer in this neighborhood since it literally had wall-to-wall street art, locals buzzing about, and that Berlin subculture vibe. All in all, the tour was’t bad, but at this price point, it wasn’t anything special.
Thoroughly enjoyed seeing the parts of Berlin that our guide took us to. Milan was lovely and happy to answer all our questions. Gave us some great tips for restaurants. Thank you
Sharing the experience with a beautiful woman who knew about the area, very relaxed we went over time no stress what a fantabulous day!!! Made my trip!!! 🙏🏻🇦🇺 Got out of the mundane vanilla day to day tours.. thankyou!! Christelle x
Having Anastasia as my guide off-the-beaten path was a mini adventure as she gave the rich history of the artist’s contributions, the immigrant’s plight, and the challenges that reunification had for all involved in these surrounding areas that contributed to what Berlin is today. Without a knowledgeable guide I would have walked passed some significant landmarks and communities that I can now appreciate!
Milena was fantastic, multilingual, great with the kids (10 &5) and very popular with them, too, in fact we were sad to say good bye! She helped us gain an insiders experience of Berlin, and kept the kids entertained for 3 hours! Kreuzberg, Friedrichshain, Hackesche Hoefe, local juice stores, quirky restaurants, fashion stores, we saw it all. Some great art galleries that we would never have found. The kids have been on a few trips where we have made use of guides, and they both rated Milena at the top of all of them! High praise from this lot!
Milena is a very nice local guide. She showed us snapshots of three local spots of Berlin. All of them quite interesting and inspiring. Milena told us interesting background stories and shared her personal view also. We got lots of tips and we couldn t see everything in three hours so next time we will plan our tour guide at the start of our journey so we can revisit some spots on the other days.. Thanks! Our picture of Berlin is more complete thanks to Milena!
This was an excellent tour - visiting multiple neighborhoods and learning history about each and with respect to Berlin as a whole. Having the personal, individual perspective of the guide made this a standout tour. I highly recommend the tour and guide, Milena.
Great tour with lots of history on the neighborhood, the underground art movement and lots of chances to see street murals and local markets. Super tour guide.
Betty was great. She shared a lot of interesting information about the area, the local art scene, the history of ideas and even the clubbing scene! Lots of fun, really interesting and interesting. You have to be an art lover to get the most out of it.
Thoroughly entertaining and informative. We had a young woman who was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. We can highly recommend the private walking tour.
Seth gave us an enjoyable tour and also his personal recommendations for the Friedrichstein area. We saw a great range of art and sights in the area, including the east side gallery. We loved the little east/west border garden and the story behind it so some of the lesser known sights were the most interesting. Thank you Seth.
Seth adjusted the pace of the tour for us as it was a hot day. He still packed in loads of street art, Berlin facts and local Friedrichstein recommendations. I would definitely recommend. My hubby and son also enjoyed it very much.
The Off the Beaten Track in Berlin tour showed us how the outer edges of Berlin transitioned deteriorated communities to edgy places for artists and immigrants. Our guide Milena was amazing! Showing us interesting corners and back alleys of Berlin that we never would have discovered on our own.
Seth was a great guide. Seeing and learning about areas we never would have visited on our own. Recommended!
We had the pleasure to spend several hours touring Kreuzberg with Anastasia: she knows the area like no others and thanks to her artistic background, she gave us some many insights into underground graffiti and street art culture. It was a pleasure été exchange with her and we truly recommend the tour!
A little disappointed with this experience after reading such rave reviews. The street art and local knowledge were good but the style of the tour wasn’t what we were expecting.
Loved seeing the graffiti and street art and loved the market. It was fascinating to see the Kreuzberg neighborhoods and getting a different feel of Berlin than sticking to the tourist area. It was also a great way to be introduced to the transit system. We highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting to experience more of Berlin.
We walked to special places where street art proliferates. We learned about how street culture is encouraged and minimally regulated, with exciting results. We went through interesting alleys and formally abandoned spaces that have come alive culturally. We saw several famous works, and works by internationally celebrated artists.
Despite the wet weather, our host led us through some of the Berlin you, as a tourist, would never see. Be warned, Alexander Platz is NOT where you want to stay for your visit to Berlin. This is where Miha absolutely excelled. He provided the answers to all of our questions, with his personal experiences, and really made sure that we got the best from the time we spent with him. He's charming, erudite, and very easy to follow. VERY grateful for the tour.
Betty opens your eyes and ears to see street culturer and art and gives a few hints of what it may mean but encourages you to imagine plenty of meanings yourself. Pleasantly "off the beaten track", full of energy!
We had a fabulous time with Seth as our guide. He brought us to such interesting places that we'd never have known to check out on our own. Seth is so knowledgeable and personable. My husband and kids (18 and 20) all thoroughly enjoyed the tour (and we're not the easiest crowd lol) and would all highly recommend this tour and, in fact, any tour with Seth.
This was fabulous- private tour guide Michelle gave me and my husband a fabulous insight into art, history and culture - really enjoyed this tour on our first day and she gave us a list of more things to explore and where to eat
Great history and art tour! Seth is friendly, knowledgeable, good photographer & very accommodating.
Miha - our guide was friendly and personable from the get-go which set a great tone for the day... Outlined the cultural and historic aspects of Berlin with aplomb as well as the alternative from nightlife to street art, fooderies and cool bars - fitted what we wanted from the day perfectly which he probably read and tailored content accordingly :)
Miha was an excellent guide on our street art tour in Berlin! He was very easy to get in contact with, answered all our silly questions & was very flexible in understanding our needs & interests. Not only did he point out great art work & told us the story behind them but he also gave us an important & interesting history lesson. With humour & knowledge he guided us through cool neighbourhoods & made us carefully look up & down to see all the gems in the city. Had we not been poor art students ourselves, we would have given him a huge tip!!
Anastasia takes into account the wishes of the group. With us, for instance, she focused on the difference between rich and poor in Berlin in her tour. She managed to combine this well with the story of Kreuzberg's history and street art. We came across unexpected interesting places.
The day before I got a text giving me the information and welcoming me. However, the next day the person that was supposed to lead the your never showed up. I tried contacting them without success. I reached out to trip advisor and they could not get a hold of the guide either. They did refund me for the tour. However, this was very unprofessional and it changed our plans 100%
Miha was a great tour guide! Lots of interesting information and a great walk around the neighborhood. Definitely off the beaten path.
Anastasia was full of knowledge and fun to be with. It was like getting a tour of the city with a good friend. Loved seeing a different side of Berlin and the history that surrounded the neighborhoods we toured. She was great with my older mother and honed in on our interests and catered the tour to that. I highly recommend you to spend a few hours with Anastasia as it will complete your Berlin trip.
Seeing the obscure and artistic side of Berlin was intriguing. My tour guide, Seth, was super accommodating!
We really enjoyed our tour with Anastasia. She is very knowledgeable and conducts her tour in a fun and engaging manner. I’ve taken many tours during my travels and Anastasia is one of my all time favorites. She brings humor to her work and keeps her communication engaging and not overwhelming.
