Steve’s knowledge of the history of Hitler’s Berlin was phenomenal. Would definitely recommend! He answered many questions and was very considerate of mobility issues in the group. He was relaxed and friendly and clearly knew his stuff!

My partner and I (43 and 50yrs old from Canada) thoroughly appreciated our tour with Juan, which brought us to a collection of significant sites within walking distance of the Brandenberg Gates . Juan was a passionate and interesting teacher, and did not speak the entire time, allowing us time to process what we’d learned. We were provided appropriate time to explore sites that we needed to experience ourselves. We weren’t completely exposed to the elements and there was usually some shade to be found. We booked our stay near the gates and it was very important for us to learn about the history of this area - I’d recommend this tour to anyone - the length and content were exactly what we hoped for.
Juan was incredible! Super knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. He had tons of book/movie recs as well. Highly recommend booking this tour, you learn a lot about the memorials and historical buildings.
Carlos, our tour guide, provided us with excellent historical information. He has. Doctorate in history so was able to provife us with details we would not have been able to have otherwise. We visited key places such as the Brandenburg Gate and stood over Hitler’s bunker. Highly recommend this tour.
Steve was excellent!! He was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot from the tour and was given tips about where to go after to co time our own tour.
Excellent tour. So many things that you wouldn’t see if it weren’t for the tour. Steve was awesome. Very much a highlight !
Johan was the best. We really enjoyed our ‘Hitlers Berlin’ experience with him. Johan was patient, knowledgeable and patiently answered all our inquisitive questions, however silly they were. He kept the energy up even after all the walking we had to do. Thank you for this view of Berlin, Johan.
Steve (the tour guide) did a nice job describing the history of the various locations on the tour. ..
A very interesting tour. Steve was knowledgable and very good at explaining complex history in just enough detail. He gave us time to visit some very moving monuments. Highly recommended.
Scott was wonderful! He was very knowledgeable and was able to explain the history in a clear way.
Outstanding. An informed and detailed guide paced very well. Great factual insights with political context.
Carlos was a wonderful guide. So knowledgeable and took time to answer everyone’s questions. It was a very thorough and informative tour. Highly recommend
Our guide Steve was very knowledgeable regarding Berlin and it's long history. He obviously has a passion for history and so do we, so good combination. It really embedded Berlin for us, as previously we had visited other sights without a guide. We learnt new information and felt the tour was enjoyable and educational. Excellent
If you love history you’ll love this tour. Our guide was a Scott (so native English speaker) and very well versed. He was patient with our many questions. Tour was about the right length, tho you are left at a museum that we wish we had had time to see but had an evening event to attend. Plan an extra hour and see the Museum of Terror-he said it’s one of the best. Hope to get it in before we leave.
The tour was excellent. Our guide was thorough and well prepared to answer any questions thrown their way. The tour was an excellent length, in order to see multiple important sites with their historical context. Would highly recommend to use OnTheFrontTours!
Very informative! We really had a good time and learned a lot! We visited several spots, meeting at the Brandenberg Gate and ending at the Topography of Terror. Highly recommend!
A terrific experience with our aussie guide, who has lived her for 12 yrard. He brought so much extra to the tour than a regular script. Highly recommend for families with teenage children. Strongly recommend to have some currency to leave a tip, these guides bring so much research, knowledge and education to your tour and deserve a token of recognition.
It was great seeing the monuments and buildings I've read about for years.
This walking tour was an exceptional experience, striking the perfect balance between a comfortable pace and a wealth of fascinating information. The selection of sites was spot-on, but what truly set this tour apart was the guide’s masterful use of historical photographs. Comparing images of Berlin's original architecture with the post-bombing ruins and modern-day streets provided a powerful, moving perspective that words alone couldn't capture. It was deeply engaging from start to finish, ensuring there was never a dull moment throughout the afternoon. I can’t recommend this tour enough for anyone wanting to see the "layers" of Berlin’s history come to life.
We had an excellent experience on the “Rise and Fall of Hitler” tour in Berlin. Our guide Johan was outstanding — incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and thoughtful in the way they presented such a complex and sensitive period of history. They brought the stories to life with clear explanations, historical context, and meaningful insights, . The pace of the tour was perfect, with plenty of opportunities to ask questions and reflect. It was evident how passionate they are about history, and their ability to connect events to the places we visited made the experience truly memorable. We came away with a much deeper understanding of Berlin’s history and would highly recommend this tour — especially with this guide — to anyone visiting the city.
This tour is incredible and an absolute must do for your stay in Berlin. Despite being super cold, our guide Johan delivered an insightful and interesting tour looking at Berlin's darkest moments in history. I cannot recommend this enough.
Joachim (sorry!) was fantastic. He delivered some very dark historical tales beautifully and with nuance. He was very knowledgeable and the tour was highly informative. 10/10 would recommend
Terrific, informative, and educational. My Dad and I had a great time walking through Berlin and seeing the history of the Nazi party. Well worth the price of admission and the perfect length. Johan or Joachim (apologies!) was extremely insightful and answered all of our questions. The tour group was small that day, so it felt like our own private little tour. Highly recommend for anyone interested in WW2, German History, the Nazis, etc.
Excellent tour. We had a small group of four and nice weather, which made it even better. Scott was an extremely informative and interactive guide who explained the history clearly and thoughtfully. The tour provided great context on Hitler’s rise and fall. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a deeper understanding of Berlin’s history.
Very good tour with a small group of people and a very good guide, Scott. We heared a lot of the history of the city and learned some new things as Well.
Excellent tour of Berlins 3rd Reich history. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions, and opened our eyes to issues and areas of the war that we did not know, it was very interesting. The tour went over our time which was wonderful as we had so many questions and it did not faze the tour guide.
Had a tour with Roshana today, very knowledgable woman with a clear passion for German history, me and my girlfriend enjoyed it massively, thanks:) Elliott
Wrap up warm and wear comfy shoes ...Great Tour our Guide Roshana was fabulous... so knowledgeable and a fantastic Guide ... Recommended
I originally booked the Berlin Battlefield tour, but because there was just me and one other person who booked the tour it was cancelled. They offered me a refund, a private tour or a switch over to the Hitler's Berlin tour which I took them up on. I showed up at the meeting location half an hour early and was told to look for someone with a blue umbrella, unfortunately it was raining and half the umbrellas were blue so I had to search around hoping that one of them was the tour guide. Eventually I found the rest of the tour group but none of them knew where the guide was either, one of us had a phone signal so we called the company and it turned out that the guide had been double booked. He offered all of us a private tour in the afternoon but it was my last day in Berlin and I didn't want to waste it on a "maybe" so I went to see Charlottenburg Palace. The guy seemed nice both over emails and on the phone and they are sending me a refund, I've met people who would use the rebooking as an excuse not to issue one so props to them for that. But I can't give 5 stars given that I altered my plans for tours that never happened.
Fantastic tour , very informative and worth the money. Scott the tour guide was very knowledgeable and well spoken highly recommend
Scott was great, lots of energy and good knowledge of Subject matter. Enjoyed his storytelling. I would look for him again on a future tour
Scott was very knowledgeable about the Nazi regime and their downfall. It was amazing to learn so many historic things happened in such a small area.
Scott - our guide - is excellent. Travelers are required to listen carefully as there is a lot of information. This is what we wanted and made the experience enjoyable.
Excellent tour. This was our first visit to Berlin, my wife was a bit sceptical of the subject and the dark past but I wanted to get a better understanding of its history. The tour was very reasonably priced and well worth the fee. Our guide did a brilliant job bringing the landscape to life during the tour, he had a deep professional knowledge of the subject was really enthusiastic and engaging the time flew by over 2.5 hours but so much was covered. Being in a small group you felt fully engaged and it felt like you were in your own documentary and able to ask the director whatever you wanted. If anyone wants to develop their understanding of the period in some of its most recognisable locations then this is the tour to be on. We both really enjoyed the experience and will definitely sign up again when we return. This was a walking tour but the locations are only a short distance apart before you stop to learn the next set of facts.
What a great guide Scott is. Very knowledgeable and very friendly. We never felt rushed walking between sites. We finished the tour in a more educated state of what happened prior and during the war.
Our family of three really enjoyed Scott’s knowledge, sensitivity and in-sight on such a heavy topic. Thank you Scott. We highly recommend this tour.
This tour was EXCELLENT. The tour guide was on time very knowledgeable and professional. All of our questions were answered.
It helped me understand what happened with Adolf Hitler and compare it with what is happening now so I can take action against fascism.
This was an exceptional tour and I can’t recommend it highly enough. Scott was incredibly knowledgeable and had a real gift for explaining complex history in a way that was both clear and engaging. What stood out most was the way he contextualised the rise of the Nazis: how they began, grew, and sustained their campaign, how the camps and killings were initiated, and ultimately how it all ended on a site that is now just a car park. His ability to connect the past to the present gave us a much deeper understanding of Berlin’s history and left us with plenty to reflect on. The tour was well-paced, thoughtfully organised, and Scott was patient and considerate throughout. If you want an accurate and unflinching look at this history, this is the tour to take.
SO much history! This tour provided an excellent overview of the Third Reich and the events leading up to WWII in Germany under Hitler. Our guide was quite knowledgeable and we were fortunate enough to be a part of a small group of 8 like-minded adults from 3 different countries. It was emotional at times, especially when walking through the Holocaust Memorial. I highly recommend visiting the museum that is located at the end of the tour. Check-Point Charlie is about two blocks away and worth visiting.
Fantastic experience with a knowledgeable guide Jochen was exceptional he made the tour very interesting as he presented the historical rise of the nazi party in an informed manner.
Scott was our tour guide and he was exceptionally engaging, knowledgeable and open to a variety of discussions above and beyond his tour. The famly truly enjoyed it.
This was an interesting and informative 2 1/2 hour tour which explained the chain of events that brought Hitler into power. Our guide, Scott, was outstanding. He was very knowledgeable about the history of this time period and explained many things that I was unaware of. Very good tour.
Excellent tour by a guide who was very knowledgeable. It’s the history of Hilter’s control on past Germany that shouldn’t be forgotten.
Excellent tour of Berlin's sites associated with the rise and fall of Hitler and the Nazi regime. Mark's knowledge of the period provided important insight that made the tour more meaningful. He also provided thoughtful commentary that provokes one to contemplate the meaning of the Nazi era in today's world.
It is a wonderful tour that really explores many of the questions we had about WW2. I particularly liked that Germany is so focused on "owning" their horrific choices. They don't try to excuse it away or give any passes for the behahaviors which I thought was important. The whole tour is maybe over 4-5 city blocks so the ability to walk well is needed but it's not a stressful walk like many tours. Being small and having one on one attention was very nice. It was very good!
Excellent guide with excellent knowledge and a sense of humour. You could put yourself in the times and places of WW11.
Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and gifted his time with great background about German history.learned a lot and would heartily recommend to and history buffs!!
Our guide was Jochen. He was AMAZING!! I highly recommend this tour in Berlin. Our guide was very clear, organized, and knowledgeable. He made a real effort to ensure everyone understood the complex history of Nazism. The information was presented in a thoughtful and engaging way, which made the experience both educational and impactful.
Our guide Hannah was amazing!! This was one of the best guided tours we have done. Very informative about WW2, Hitler & the buildings & memorials we visited. Would highly recommend.
