It was really interesting, though needed more time to fully access all the information. Ok if travellers are happy to make their own way back without the guide. Our guide, Nikolai Todorov was incredibly knowledgeable and very friendly; a really good guide.

Reviews
The guide was excellent, information was very well presented, I must admit that the tour inside the camp is very confronting, but well worth doing, it’s a story I hope that is never repeated
Fantastic tour, out your guide Nickolai was very informative he knew everything and told us everything we needed to know, he would also answer questions when asked politely and processionally. We had a disaster with the trains and they were doing maintenance, he ensured we safely got back to the station with him even though it took three seperate trains. Amazing service, highly recommend
The Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp Tour was an impactful and meaningful experience on my trip to Berlin. The tour was extremely well organized, and our guide, Campbell was knowledgeable, respectful, and passionate about sharing the history of the camp. The information was presented thoughtfully, providing important historical context while honoring the memory of those who suffered there. Walking through the grounds and hearing the personal stories brought history to life in a way that books and documentaries simply cannot. Although it is a somber experience, I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Berlin. It offers a powerful opportunity to learn, reflect, and better understand the events of the past. Thank you to our guide, Campbell for delivering such an informative and moving tour. A truly unforgettable experience.
Emma was our guide for our visit. Her knowledge was fantastic, she was a great guide.
Emma was an excellent tour guide - she really looked after us and helped us throughout the tour and was full of useful information
This was a fantastic tour. Emma was great and very knowledgeable. We did the tour by train, which was generally easy. However it is a 25 minute walk to saussenhausen once you get off the train, then about three hours of walking through the camp, and 25 minutes back. Absolutely nothing wrong with that for us, but some may need less walking. One couple in our group paid for a taxi to avoid so much walking. Overall, a really good experience though. If you're capable of walking far and don't mind it, this is the one for you!
Emma our tour guide, was friendly, knowledgeable and nothing was too much trouble for her. She looked after our individual needs and questions throughout the day. We would highly recommend the tour based on Emma.
Guide was awesome. She really knew her stuff and her information and stories really compensated for the limited original infrastructure. So nice to meet people who really enjoyed their work.
Excellent tour, so much quality information. The guide was very considerate re questions and those on the tour that had mobility problems. Gave us a very accurate insight of the camp, and reasons for it's Inception.
A deeply moving and extraordinary experience led by a phenomenal guide who was able to give historical context and explanations that are so important to help understand the camp. Emma was able to really explain what was happening at the time the Camp was built and throughout its existence. She was also able to draw attention to different areas within the camp that allowed us to understand and notice far more than we would have done if we had not had her leading the tour. All her guiding was carried out with emotional awareness and openness and helped to make the experience deeply moving. Very much recommend this tour.
Great experience with Pete as our guide who was very knowledgeable
I would rate this a 5++++. Emma exceeded our expectations. She was extremely knowledgeable and engaging.
Joachim was an amazing guide. So incredibly knowledgeable and personable. It was deeply moving and yet showed me a piece of history I was surprised to learn. Everything about the day exceeded my expectations.
Xavier was our tour guide and he was amazing. So knowledgeable and was able to give a detailed account about the political and cultural background of the time that lead to the uprising of the Nazis. The tour is thought provoking and very moving. The tour involves a train ride and a long walk once off the train to the camp. Wear comfortable shoes and take snacks and water with you as there is no time to stop. We didn’t get to see all of the buildings on the tour but the knowledge and depth of information that Xavier brought more than made up for the missing bits. Amazing tour, definitely go on it
Xavier was sensitive about a tough subject. Very knowledgeable. Did a great job keeping everyone together
The tour was really interesting and informative. Paul, our tour guide was really friendly, full of knowledge and accommodating. Visiting Sachsenhausen was a deeply moving experience and felt surreal to be walking the grounds of the camp knowing what had happened there. But a very important place to visit, to learn the history and what actually happened. The tour was 5 hours long but we spent approx 3 hours at the camp. We went on the train tour, you need an ABC train ticket (train to the camp and train back to meeting point - all with the guide, but can make your own way home if would like). Take your own food/drink with you. We were in a group of 15, so didn’t feel overwhelmed/crowded. Highly recommend doing this tour if you’re visiting Berlin.
Our tour guide Tina is amazing! She explained the historical background in detail while making it easy for everyone to understand. Sachsenhausen Memorial & Museum Is a must-visit place when you travel to Berlin.
Tina was a great tour guide! Very informative and great story teller. Would definitely book another tour with her.
Amazing and sobering experience!!! Lovely nod to the past history. Our guide Jackouk(the spelling is defo wrong sorry), was amazing, very knowledgeable, and was able to answer every question thrown his way. Would recommend to everyone!!!
Highly recommend this tour while in Berlin Joesph was a wealth of information and extremely knowledgeable with a kind and caring nature. You definitely need time after the tour to take all that you hear and see and decompress
Joachim was a very knowledgeable and courteous guide freely answering all questions. Had a great time with him and very personable reaching out to everyone in the group. Trip was well planned. Highly recommend this very affordable tour.
We were looking forward to this tour. We met the guide along with 23 other people. The guide helped us purchase tickets for the train which was a nice ride 45 minute ride. The itinerary says you walk around town for 15 minutes which would have been okay, however, the walk was a 25 minute walk through town to the concentration camp. My husband could not keep up with the pace of the tour and fell behind. The guide asked if he was okay but could not hold back the tour due to time constraints. We understood that. He told us we would get a refund since we could not complete the tour of the camp. ( It is now 16 days past and I haven't received it.) IF the itinerary had stated it was that long of a walk I never would have booked it. Better yet we should have been given the opportunity at the train station to take the bus to the camp or an uber. My husband would have been able to do the tour then after not having so much exertion. Disappointed in the whole experience. I think the tour operator could have had a better detailed itinerary for the tour prior to booking.
Great tour with the best guide Joacuan! So energetic and passionate about a very serious topic. He explained everything so well, easy to understand and super personable. At the end of the tour offered guidance as well on trains. You can feel his passion for this incredible city of Berlin!cwrv did the train ride with him not bus tour
What a super tour so well organised . Our Guide Joachim was amazing so knowledgable he enabled us to have a greater insight into the Sachsenhausen Concentration camp and its history .
Nikolai was a great tour guide. We learn a lot in a short amount of time. He was very knowledgeable about the subject matter.
Excellent guided tour led by Mikail. Full of knowledge and historical information. When you enter through the camp gate and look at the places where barracks housed thousands, and thousands were murdered, you instantly feel very moved and disbelieving this happened. But it did. An essential visit when in Berlin.
Amazing experience with knowledgeable tour guide. Would highly recommend this experience. You need to be in good physical condition to participate
An excellent tour from start to finish. Our guide Nikolai was knowledgeable and told the story of Sachsenhausen with real sensitivity. Five hours flew by. A moving and important experience, highly recommended.
Visit to the German concentration camp ..Mikey was an excellent guide.. knowledgeable, mix of history, anecdotal info..respectful of the surroundings while keeping us engaged....very good tour
Will was our tour guide and was VERY knowledgeable! Good sense of humour and cared about the group. Lots of walking however and make sure you bring snacks as it is a long day!
Our tour guide Daniel was great, knowledgeable and has a passion for history, it is a bit of walking from train station to site so be aware,
Excellent tour! Well paced and organized. Rebecca as guide was outstanding. She provided insights and historical details which added to the experience. Very moving.
This was our third insider tour and we had a wonderful experience due to our guide Daniel. He was incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and passionate about sharing not only the stories of Sachsenhausen but the history of Germany and political climate that led up to it. For us he brought history to life and helped us understand and we really felt that it was important to Daniel that these stories are never forgotten. We left feeling deeply moved and grateful to have learnt so much I cannot recommend insider tours and Daniel highly enough.
Great experience, our guide Daniel has great knowledge of the camps and has a passion for what he does, highly recommended from Dublin Ireland
Will was an excellent guide and i learned a lot about the camp and the culture of Nazi Germany, providing important additional context on the why of its creation. I'd definitely recommend this tour.
Sad history but all the reason to worth touring with a licensed guide. Paul was a great guide and gave us a lot of context and background, which really helped us understand why certain things happened and the history behind the site. His explanations made the experience much more meaningful.
Eventhough the experience itself is quite shocking because of the context of the horrible things that happened in that place, it forces us to exercise our memory and engage in the never ending resistance towards human cruelty. Our guide Chris (the canadian) was very kind to us, giving us space whenever it felt like a lot but also being informative and present during the whole visit.
It’s a humbling experience but an important reminder of the evil to be avoided at all coasts in the future.
Canadian Chris was excellent. He was engaged and interested and interesting. He had a great historical perspective and was very engaged with my 12 year old son. I would recommend him to all my friends.
We attended the Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp tour with tour guide Chris. It was an excellent tour from a very knowledgeable guide. It’s moving and sad but at the same time interesting and informative. The tour requires a 1 hr train journey there and back at €12 each. And a 20 min walk to the camp so be mindful of that. We had good weather, in the rain it would not be enjoyable.
Make sure you are aware if you are purchasing the bus or the train ticket. I thought I purchased the bus but purchased the train. No big deal the staff on site were so very helpful and got me straightened out.
Exceptional guide (Joseph) and exceptional tour. Not an easy morning but gives you some insight to a time you can’t really comprehend.
A great day with a small group, led by an experienced, knowledgeable guide who provided insights into the history of the camp. A very moving tour I would recommend to others.
The trip was very interesting and our guide Mikey was the best! He had so much knowledge of everything and he’s english was perfect. He was also very entertaining.
Hannah was an awesome guide with personal family ties to the history. I learned more about the atrocities in the concentration camps by being there and actually seeing where it took place than reading about it in books. Hannah was extremely knowledgeable about the history that took place in Berlin under Hitler and the Sachsenhausen camp. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting Berlin and wanting to learn more about concentration camps under Hitler’s rule.
Wear comfortable shoes and clothing for lots of walking. Have plenty of liquids to drink. Lots of good information about the era of that time.
Tina was an outstanding tour guide. She has an extensive knowledge and is very passionate about an important part of our history. She was engaging and made sure that everybody on the tour was included. Highly recommend Tina as a tour guide.
The tour was excellent. Our tour guide Nikolai was incredibly knowledgeable. Finding the tour guide was easy and Nikolai made sure we had the correct train tickets etc. All in all it was an incredibly interesting day. I will be recommending to anyone who tells me they're visiting Berlin.
Nikolai was a great guide, lots of great insight into stories from survivors.
