Berlin Photography Masterclass - Private Photography Lesson

Had a great experience, doing the extended photo walk in Berlin with Gareth. We visited places that i would not know about and got some great ahots.

This was a really bad experience. I spent $200+ plus for a guy to hem and haw on where to take me. I didn't really get any good pictures out of it, he didn't know where to take me to get good photos. In the end i had to buy a train ticket and he took me on trains and we ended up aborting a lot of attempts because he changed his mind and didn't know where to go. I just wanted some nice shots of the city (Berlin) and while the advertisement said they know the places to go, this did not happen. In the end he ended up leaving me on a train far away from the meeting site and i had to try to figure out on my own how to get back. Will not use this service again and can not recommend it.

Very knowledgeable photographer. Took me to places that haven’t been photographed a 1000 times. As a portrait photographer having an experienced night photographer with knowledge of the city helped speed up the process of capturing some stunning images. I highly recommend this tour.

We had an amazing experience with Gareth on a perfect summer evening in Berlin. I (the photographer) learnt a number of tips from him. We also visited a number of interesting sights and photographed them in a falling evening light.We finished up with som great night shots. For anyone interested in Photography this is a great way to spend a few hours in a wonderful city. While it is not a cheap tour it is well worth the expense.

Gareth took the time to understand what my goals were for the session and went out of his way to tailor the plan accordingly. He recommended several locations with great subjects to explore and he offered constructive coaching to help me get the best shots. Don’t hesitate to book with him - it was a fantastic experience!

Having done one Aperture tour in New York, I was keen to do one in another city, Berlin. Gareth was a very helpful and considerate tutor and gave me more confidence in taking photos of architecture. He suggested a visit to Hansa Platz , which we went to and I got some good shots there. I wouldn't have known to go there if he hadn't mentioned it.

I had a great experience and was able to capture some outstanding images. My guide knew all the right places and had many excellent technical recommendations. I am very pleased with the outcome.

Gareth was the nicest person we met in Berlin! We appreciated him teaching us so many photographic techniques. He was patient and we had a great time. The things we have learned are being put to use in our other vacations.

I've take a few pictures in my past and went on a few photo tours. Most of them took me to some special places that I would never have gotten on my own and got me some nice shots. This one, actually taught me some new tricks. Was great to find some different areas of Berlin that I might not have gone to by myself but was even better to leave some new knowledge of how I can improve my photography.

It was an amazing experience with Gareth over the 6 hours. We covered plenty of ground across Berlin, covering both sights that I had seen earlier but from a slightly different angle. Being both a day and night tour, we were able to capture photos during daylight, dawn/dusk and later at night. Feedback on my photos were provided as we moved along the tour, along with recommendations on camera settings to use to get the best photo for the specific scene based on various factors. I would highly recommend this tour if you are looking for both a walking tour around Berlin but also want to take great photos.

Huge thanks to Gareth! We only had a couple days and with the limited time, Gareth provided us a great deal we wouldn’t have been able to find on our own. He also graciously moved our start time an hour and a half later to take advantage of the magic hour. I did get some great feedback and shots to go with it. Totally worth the time and expense.

I did both the daytime and night time tours with Gareth. It was great to be able to complete the tours over two days as 6 hours in one day would have been too much. Gareth is knowledgeable, very friendly and helpful and a lovely person to spend time with. I am happy with my images and appreciate Gareth's input, both technically and in getting us to good places to capture Berlin.

Is an amazing service to pair you with a local professional photographer to capture vacation memories. I did a 60 min shoot with local professional photographer and got some amazing pictures from it.

Gareth was very friendly and helpful. The rain in the first part of the tour proved to be an advantage rather than a problem as I was able to get some unique high view shots from one of Gareth's secret photo spots while keeping dry. Highly recommended!

Our tour could not have better. Marzena was very knowledgable, very easy to work with and overall a very pleasant person to spend the time with. She taught me a lot, not just about night photography, but also about the use of my camera. I would recommend anyone to take a tour with Marzena. I went for the 3h Berlin Photography Walking Tour with Katrin. Because of my itinerary, we had to schedule the trip to start at a later time. The arrangement was easy and straight forward. Katrin is very knowledgeable and friendly. I have some experience with photography but would like to explore more. She taught me how to make pictures that tell a story, how to play with the lights, and include subject into the frame. She also shared with me a side of Berlin that a tourist will never know. All in all, I'd highly recommend Katrin and Aperture tour.

As an Australian in Berlin, it was great to see the city through the eyes of a local photographer. Marzena was a fantastic guide and an awesome photographer who was clearly vested in ensuring I got some great angles and perspectives. She was willing to deviate from plan to ensure that I got the subject matter that mattered most to me and was very informative on the history of the places visited. Marzena was gracious enough to suggest further shooting opportunities in my own time. Highly recommend this tour.

Had a great experince with Marzena on the Aperture night Photography tour. She gave me not only great insights in the city but also helped improving my Photography skills. Our Christmas market location shoot was one to remember.

Dominic guided us on this tour and initially sat with us to discuss our level of photographic knowledge and our expectations of the tour. He the constructed the tour to provide us with opportunities to compose photos which were a little different and then reviewed our photos and provided suggestions on improvements. We had some fun panning and trying to capture the 'one instant' photo. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and learnt so much from Dominic. I look forward to doing other Aperture Tours in other cities I visit.

This was our second Aperture experience following Amsterdam last week and we drew another Ace. Katrina was outstanding. Friendly, fun and a great teacher for us to keep improving our photography skills. Great customer experiences can be a rare thing, but Aperture proved to us, it’s a habit for them. Shame there Business has not expanded to the destinations on the rest of our holiday, but we will use them again when we get back to Melbourne and see our Home town in a different light.

Dominic made this one of the two best tours I have ever had. He helped me improve my photography with constructive criticism and a lot of patience. He took me to areas that I would never have seen on my own, and because of him I came away with some very good images.

<p>Alexia was great. She planned a walk to places in Berlin with great photo opportunities. She reviewed my pictures with a critical eye and recommended different approaches and techniques to use. She is extremely knowledgeable about the features of highly sophisticated equipment and how to take advantage of those features. She left me with good advice for continuing my work with photography. The only thing I would change is that I did not need a review of aperture/shutter speed relationship.</p>
