Very informative and interesting our guide kept us well informed along the route told us things we would never have known
My group took a tour of parts of the Berlin wall starting with the historical area where the gates were first opened on November 1989. Our guide was Katrin who grew up in East Berlin before the wall was taken down. She provided a wonderful and informative tour of the historical areas of the wall. It was especially good to hear her description of life at that time. The tour helped give me perspective and information on why the wall was built and why it eventually came down. A fascinating story.
The tour from Bornholmer Bridge following where the wall ran towards Bernauer Strasse was excellent. Katrin (a former citizen of the DDR) was very informative and knowledgeable. It was a wet & cold day however Katrin kept our interest with many facts, antidotes and experiences during a fascinating period of German history. Thoroughly recommended.
We had a thoroughly enjoyable tour of the Berlin Wall from Katrin- a very engaging and informative tour gude who shared her insight with us from her first hand experience of the Berlin wall. Katrin is passionate about the subject and she was able to recount many interesting stories along the way making it a very personable experience and one we would highly recommend. A definite 'must do' if your visiting Berlin.
The Berlin Wall, a symbol of division and struggle, was erected in 1961 separating families, lives and an entire country. For 28 years, it represented the physical and political barrier between East and West in the midst of the Cold War. It was torn down in 1989, ushering in a new era of unity and hope. Today, its remains remind us of the importance of human freedom and resilience. 🕊️ During the tour you can see art embodied in the wall and in some points history and segments of the war and Hitler's influence on the Germans to incite war. Really very important this visit and bearing in mind that it is Free.
The Berlin Wall Tour was very interesting! You didn't even notice how the 2.5 hours passed. You can ask anything, experience something absolutely new, although you think everything is already conscious. The stories of the guide, who was born in East Berlin himself, were super exciting. Highly recommended!
Despite bad weather, we had a great tour and experienced and learned a lot. The reports from our management were also super detailed.
Thanks for the great tour. You do this very authentically and please continue to tell the young people how you personally came to your freedom (your escape)! Greetings from Lake Constance and nice Easter. Kurt & Sabine Hilbe
A very interesting guided tour along the northern part of the Berlin Wall between Bornholmer Straße and Nordbahnhof. The tour was really interesting and Katrin brought a lot of personal experiences in, so it was not just historical. An absolute recommendation for a trip to Berlin!
Highly recommended! It was a super interesting tour. We loved that we as a family did the tour alone with the guide. The information went over to us loosely, so that the children also kept a lot. Despite the rain throughout the tour, we enjoyed it a lot. Keep it up!
The tour was very interesting with lots of information and anecdotes. Ference was an excellent tour guide on a very short-haul tour. One point deduction, because the description "Tour ends where it started" is not correct, but must take the S-Bahn back to the start of the tour independently.
Aardige gids met veel informatie en persoonlijke ervaring. Zij kende uit haar eigen leven veel verhalen over de muur
A really successful tour. The tour was short-tempered and informative. Our guide Ferenz gave us a very authentic share in his story. Thank you for that! Anytime again!
It was very interesting and although we already knew a lot about the history of the wall, we learned something more. Our guide Katrin told us many exciting stories. Highly recommended.
We happened to be the only guests of the tour on a rainy day. Steffen guided us well and answered all the questions we had as sporadic visitors to Berlin well. He comes from the East of Berlin and lived through the period before the reunification as a young man. This greatly benefited the leadership on the anniversary of the opening of the Wall.
After two excursions with sandemans, we hired the one from communist Germany, the wall, visit a ghost metro station, the wall and how they were separated, a route that is very impressive. It rained a lot but really David with all his stories and what we visited, they were worth it. I think it is an excursion that can not miss when visiting Berlin!!
At the beginning of August we had a tremendously exciting and very informative city walk with Steffen, who could really answer any question with his relaxed and amiable manner and visited with us many of the most important memorials to the Berlin Wall. Through many first-hand details he managed to make the history of the Berlin Wall very tangible for us for almost 3 hours. Absolutely recommendable. Thank you and see you next time
Impressive walking tour with a great guide. The guide of East German descent and raised in East Berlin knows a lot about the city and the events. Definitely do!
Very interesting and recommended! Our tourgide Katrin had a lot of exciting information and stories for us! The 2.5 hours have flown by, would have liked to have had longer! Anyone interested in history should take this tour!
Katrin brought us very impressively to know the history of the Berlin Wall and its associated fates. Through the personal stories, it becomes clear what the wall has meant to people practicing and over there. The tour is also well suited for families with teenage children. Always happy to take a guided tour with Katrin.
Today with Katrin explored the area around Bornholmer strasse. Eventually got a private tour from her. Very understandably, the tour can only take place if there are at least two participants. Since there was no one else I suggested paying for two people. I don't regret this, on the contrary. I am very happy that this was possible and I have more than got my money's worth. Katrin could tell so much about the wall and the history and especially her own story. This gave me an extra dimension to this special place from recent European history. We started at the spot where the wall opened first in 1989. Impressive to hear from Katrin anecdotes what it was like to live in East Berlin. I'm in Berlin regularly. Have also visited many museums and places that tell about this period. What a fine and valuable addition. I visited East Berlin in my student days. Thank you Katrin for this beautiful morning in a drizzly cold Berlin. Danke Dir! Egbert
