We had a nice stay at the hotel. The staff at the reception were very helpful and friendly. The fan in our room wasn't working, but the staff quickly brought us a new one, which we really appreciated. We were also allowed to leave our luggage after check-out, which was very convenient. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and we would consider staying here again.

Pros: * Excellent Location: Tons of great restaurants, cafes, and shops within walking distance. With the train and metro stations so close by, getting anywhere in Berlin is quick and effortless. * 24/7 reception: convenient for late check-ins or anytime assistance. * Clean & Comfortable: The bathroom was spotless, and the beds (including the pillows) provided a great night's sleep. Cons: * No AC: The room gets uncomfortably warm in the summer. Leaving the window open isn't a great option either, as the constant traffic noise disrupts your sleep. * A Bit Dated: The hotel looks and feels a little aged. * Poor Lighting: The bathroom lighting isn't ideal for putting on makeup. * Compact Room: The room is quite small, though it does have nice, high ceilings which help it feel less cramped.
Initially, we were supposed to stay at Leonardo Hotel Berlin (Wilmersdorfer Straße 32). Unfortunately, the place was overbooked. Not only it was surprising (especially assuming I was proposed an upgrade of the room just a day before, which must assume excess of rooms), but extremely unpleasant as we were going to visit a show in German State Opera (just few minutes of walking from the place) just in an hour after the check-in. Fortunately, the staff at the desk was not just friendly, but also far more smart than hotel's IT systems and processes, and suggested us to move to KU'DAMM. Their proposal to call us a taxi without charge was appreciated. Moving to the experience in KU'DAMM, I have to admit, that starting the minute we entered the hotel's lobby everything became smooth and pleasant. We managed to get to the show in time. Staff, room, breakfast, facilities were superior our expectations, and we enjoyed our short visit to Berlin.
So the good thins first : impecable location, close to the zoo, shopping street and some historical landmarks (castle gate church etc) , ok staff (not much interaction thou , the night one totally ignores you while playing/watching smth on the internet, most probably) . Now for the room, this is where it gets interesting cause this hotel seems to be have a split personality, old and new, fancy and decrypt at the same time. You can guess which one I got by now :). Funny thing is i didnt know that at that time. So when my room had the communism 'charm' of over used tapistry, smelly rugs with the rusted drains and industrial bathroom fan, i said sure, it could work ... my room has some character... add a slightly dirty mirror and broken bathroom tiles but otherwise room has everything you need (plus a bonus fridge, cracked door but working) So i was content with the location and basics, ignorance is bliss ... they say ... until my friends arrived at the same hotel and got Their room. They invited me from the lobby and from the start something was different. No longer going up the old stairs but turning right strait away (ironic..) into the renovated part. New stairs modern elevators room itself clean no spot (so was mine to be fair) no smell thou in theirs, everything new, no old comunist yellow bumpy walls, still the same carpet but correctly lined and no staines... but the bathroom (coup de grace) ... wow they actually had a bidee ... twice the size of mine ...luxury with and marbled and white furnishings not opaque glass and plastic like mine .... i was smiling, they were impressed, i was wondering is this the same hotel, they were joking about the bidee and extra couch .. i had no comment.... What is this Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde situation happening here ?... Not sure what prompted them to.give me this room for a 5 days stay, thr gotel didn t seem to be fully booked. ( at least now i know why the lady that gave me the room was almost laughing everytime she saw me in the lobby ... )... well I hope this review helps you. At least ask for the renovated room or in which building you stay :) ... This is a 4 star hotel ... P.S. : the wifi fi is bad for everybody :)
Great location and breakfast was very good, love the coffee machine varieties and quality. Room has radiator for heat but was still very comfortable and clean. The desk and housekeeping service was great. No ice available unless you ask the bar after 5:00pm. But there is a small refrigerator. Best value for the price in my opinion.
