It was a lovely experience away from the crowds with a great guide. Reached all of our places ahead of the crowds and gave the freedom to just explore without having to worry about logistics.

Itinerary
Following a morning pickup at your hotel in Bergen or the cruise port, take a seat in your private vehicle at 8:30 am and head towards Dale and Voss to begin your 11-hour tour.
Along the way, stop at the Tvindefossen waterfall and capture the scenery on camera.
Visit the Stalheim Hotel with your guide and enjoy fine views over the UNESCO–listed Nærøydalen Valley from the terrace. Probably the most beautiful view of the day - and you will continue - The Stalheimskleiva Road - Stalheimskleiva is the name of the 1.5-km-long stretch of road that winds its way up the mountainside from the end of the Nærøydalen valley to the top at Stalheim. It is one of Northern Europe's steepest roads and offers beautiful views. The Stalheimskleiva road runs up a ridge between two cascading waterfalls that can both be seen from the road. To the north, you can see the Sivlefossen waterfall, which has a fall of about 140 metres. To the south, the Stalheimsfossen waterfall with a fall of 126 metres. Please note possible to visit only from May - End of September.
Then, follow the winding road through the valley to the ancient village of Gudvangen — nestled at the end of the Nærøyfjord. Here, take a sightseeing cruise by passenger ferry (motor yacht, or RIB are available on request and additional price) over the Nærøyfjord and Aurlandsfjord to Flåm.
On arrival to Flam, enjoy lunch in a local restaurant (own expense), then enjoy free time to browse the souvenir shops, the museum of Flåmsbana railway or the local microbrewery at your leisure.
Straight after, get ready to board the famous Flåmsbana railway to Myrdal to admire fine views over the canyons, valleys, and waterfalls for which the region is famous. Stop for photos at the Kjøsfossen waterfall.then in Myrdal switch trains for your onward journey to Voss.
On arrival in Voss, discover top attractions such as the town’s medieval church and gain insight into centuries of Norwegian history. Lastly, take the 1.5-hour return journey by car to your hotel in Bergen to conclude your tour.

I have got a many Vito trips and they’ve all been fantastic. This particular trip is horrible. Total waste of money and time because basically all that happened on this trip was the guy drove us to a boat? We got on a boat and then the boat let us off in a little town and we could’ve taken the train all the way back to Bergen but halfway he met us for no reason other than to justify his existence, but we didn’t stop anywhere. We didn’t see anything and the two modes of transportation we took cost at the most for both of us $200 and we paid $1700 for a horrible day.
My husband and I recently had the pleasure of joining this tour, and I can confidently say it exceeded all of our expectations. From start to finish, everything was incredibly well-organized, engaging, and enjoyable. Our guide, Alekss, was absolutely outstanding—knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely passionate about sharing the history and culture of the area. He struck the perfect balance between providing detailed information and keeping things fun and interactive. You could tell he truly cared about making sure we had a great experience. Alekss went above and beyond to answer questions and offer helpful recommendations. The itinerary was thoughtfully planned, allowing us to see key highlights without ever feeling rushed. There was also enough flexibility to enjoy each stop at a comfortable pace, which made the experience feel more personal and relaxed. What really stood out was that Alekss made the trip like exploring with a knowledgeable friend. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for an enriching and enjoyable experience! Starting out, the drive to catch the boat that took us to the cruise down the fjords was informative and the scenery was beautiful-an appetizer to what was to come. Alekks even stopped halfway for us to stretch our legs, get a coffee, and use the restrooms-very kind and thoughtful. He dropped us off at the boat dock to catch the 2 hour cruise through the fjords - which was breathtaking. We had plenty of time to use restrooms, shop, then he stood with us to make sure we got on the boat. When we arrived in Flam he was right there to welcome us off the boat and show us around the train depot area where we had time to shop, grab a snack, and use the restrooms before boarding the train to Myrdal! He stayed with us and made sure we boarded safely. The train ride to Myrdal and back was the icing on the cake- even more spectacular than the fjords cruise. Once we arrived back at the train station, Alekss was there again waiting for us. We then made the drive back to Bergen with him stopping for us to take pictures of a beautiful waterfall and then offered to stop halfway for another break if needed but we were good so we continued driving! Even though the length of time for the tour was long, it went by very quickly!! I can’t say enough good things about Alekss and this tour!
Aleks was a fantastic guide. Very knowledgeable, charismatic and fun. If we ever come back, we will ask for him to be our guide again (assuming that's possible!) The trip itself is long (full day) but absolutely beautiful and breath taking. Protip: consider eating on the boat because places to stop are few.
The trip was just perfect! We had an amazing tour guide - friendly, informative, helpful, knowledgeable and very accommodating. We got lucky with the weather and had the best time. Unforgettable experience. Thank you so much!
Amazing day touring the countryside of Norway!!! Private van service to Voss, train to Flåm, 2 hour cruise of the fjords and private drive home. Our tour guide Sergei was punctual and we enjoyed his commentary on the drive to and from our destinations. He was so polite and kept us on task. Very organized and loved the special waterfalls he showed us on the way back!
Ivan was our guide and he made the trip a 5star excursion. Book this excursion but be careful on Geirangerfjord private excursion(taxi driver as guide).
Five stars if you take this trip in the Spring or Summer. Our guide Ivan was friendly, informative and well-organized. This tour involves him driving us from Bergen to Voss and putting us on a train while he drives to meet us later. It’s no big deal to take a train to Myrdal then cross the tracks for the famous scenic train to Flam. We just didn’t realize we were on our own for that leg . At Flam he puts us on the two hour fjord cruise and meets us at the end to drive a couple hours back. Plenty of time in the car and at lunch to learn from the guide, but a good part of the day - the train and boat - you are on your own. We enjoyed it except that with the early sunset in Nov the last hour in the fjord was dark. It rained incessantly for the week which is now apparently par for the course in Western Norway so come prepared. We came in Nov because it was our only time off. The tour was a highlight of our trip but we recommend a better time of the year.
Flam railway and the natural beauty of the Fjords. Our guide was a wonderful person but all he did was drive us. He's not from the area and thus wasn't able to be a knowledgeable guide. We spent $1700(!) But could have done better by doing it on our own!
Nothing about this tour was private except the car ride. We were given little information before the tour about the details and ended up in the car for 5 hours, on a train, and on a packed ferry in the fjords. At this price point, we were expecting at least a private boat ride in the fjords. The driver was kind but overall a frustrating experience. I will be contacting the tour operators for a refund.
We had a full day of travel to the sognefjord boat ride and flåm train. Ivan was our tour guide and was so great. Informative, great driver and always around if we needed him. It was the easiest most enjoying day of travel we have had. Amazing!!!
This tour was amazing. Just realize that you do have a driver that will pick you up, but will drop you off at the different venues then pick you up when you reach your different destination's.
Voss to Flam railway trip was stunning and the fjord boat trip packed in a wonderful day trip to see the best parts of Norway.
Nice electric boat ride for 2 hours in the Fjords and two 50 minute train rides in the snowy mountains were lovely - but at £1800 plus for four people it seemed way overpriced - our guide Matt wasn't very talkative - not what you expect from a tour guide - he was pretty much a glorified driver.
Our tour guide failed to adequately explain anything about the place, etc. It was just a ride from Bergen to board the ship, then picked us up at the end of the train ride to take us back to the hotel. No added info . Definitely below expectations
Our guide only acted as transfer companion . He didnt give any information like a guide normally does. Plus He was supposed to take us to the hotel stalheim to see the valley but we only passed it . Not happy with his service at all .
This tour is ideal for people with families to experience the best of what western Norway has to offer. The tour was like clockwork, our guide Igor was very informative, courteous and extremely punctual. We drove in a luxury van from Bergen toto Voss , took the train to myrdahl changed and took the train to Flåm, spent two hours there including going to a spectacular view point, lunch, cruise on sognefjord and ended in Gudvangen. Then drove back to Bergen. The sights, scenes and history was spectacular. Highly recommend this company and the tour guide Igor !!!!
We did a tour hour tour of Sagenfjord, very well organized, and its a must do. We booked on the spot, last boat leaves at 3pm. We were large group so we had a boat for ourselves and didnt hv to share it with anyone. Beautiful aquamarine water, majestic view of mountains, small quaint villages along the way, makes u feel u belong to a world which is not real! We drove to the Sagenfjord via road and then post lunch took a boat ride. Safety standards - Par excellence.
Enjoyed our tour and were able to see all the main sights thanks to a hassle free tour with our guide Frode. He had a lot of information to share and was very helpful. Having him to drive us around saved a lot of time. Highly recommended
It is a nice road trip with a boat trip at the end of it. The view is fantastic on the boat and in the road trip. I really enjoyed the 2 hours on the boat when you can relax in front of the sun. An electric boat has no any sound, which makes all the trip more natural. Thanks for the organisers for this incredible opportunity to spend few ours closer to the nature and the breath taking views.
This is a must on the itenary. This two hour trip is awesome ,entertaining, with majestic view of mountains, housing by the fjord.....so colourful. The reflections are worth capturing.High mountains with scattered snow is wort the picture.
I spontaneously signed up for the tour on line because it named two experiences that my tour book highlighted (the Flom railroad and a boat through the fjords). Then I worried that the price was so high. And, as the day approached and I did not hear from anyone, I worried more that i’d been scammed. But lo and behold, up drives Frode at the appointed time, and we set off for a day of viewing the most majestic scenery you can imagine! The drive to the train is about 2 hours, and I don’t think we could have done it all without an experienced guide. He shuttled us between the railroad and the boat, and took us back to Bergen, and we did a picnic at an overview in between. On the way we learned lots about Norway. It was a great day and money well spent!
We booked this tour because we wanted a private tour to the Dale of Norway Factory and this seemed to be the best way to get there. And it was a perfect day! Our guide, Ray, showed up exactly on time in an extremely comfortable Mercedes Motor Coach. He was great!! Not only was he an excellent driver and tour guide, but he was willing to take us to the Factory and wait patiently while we spent over an hour shopping. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants a private tour!!
The trip was excellent from start to end. The pick up was on time and the everywhere we were driven safely and in timely manner. Matt was good at communicating and passed us good information about the various places we visited. The places were awesome and my family enjoyed it thoroughly!
Our driver/guide, vehicles including the ferry and the sites were all amazing! It was a good idea the we did the tour the other way around, we started with the train to Flam then the cruise to Gudvangen. It seemed like we avoided the usual crowd. :)
I always wanted to go to Norway. My dream. But honestly fell short. Food ok, very cold (in June), and super duper expensive. Canada would be (a bit, but not much) cheaper for a (far) better experience if you plan to go to Alberta and BC.
We were looking at Norway in a Nutshell and realized that it was basically a bunch of public transit tickets lined together. That in itself is fine but we also has visions of moving in a big pack of people which we were not that keen about. This tour work out to be about $250 more for three people and we all agreed that it was worth every penny. Raivis was our guide and was always on top of things. He also has a good sense of humor and was able to banter with three 50 somethings despite being half our age. Pick up was on time in a comfortable Mercedes van. Raivis kept us on time which was important the first half of the day as you have a boat and a train to catch. The stops are as outlined in the tour info. We were escorted up to the entrance of the boat and Raivis met us on arrival at Voss, spent some time with us at lunch, made sure we got to the train in time to get the best seats and told us where to sit for the best views. This is the easiest way to do this trip. They show you the highlights, keep you on schedule and book all of the tickets in advance. All you have to do is pay and show up. I got the impression that Raivis would have taken us around for another hour or so upon arrival in Voss. We chose to go back to Bergen as we had a full day and were back at the hotel by 6:15 pm. Keep in mind that the minimum number of people they will do this tour for is three and the per person price gets a bit cheaper the more people on it. Recommended.
Our family had an amazing day w/our guide Igor. He had an incredible depth of knowledge of the area including history, geopolitics, economy, folklore, etc. No question we had went unanswered. Day was flexible with lots of time in the car but scenery was breathtaking. Fjord cruise was the highlight! Train ride was lovely. Would highly recommend. Of note- we had our 4 children along (ages 9,12,14,15)

incredible tour, i cant say it there was anything bad, everything was breathtaking

My tour guide, Bjorn, was beyond excellent. From the moment he picked me up, he even prepare some motion sickness remedy for me. And then right before my train ride, he bought me a local lunch to enjoy during the ride :-

Not only that he is a local bergen, he is also well knowledge about all of the local stuff. What I like him about the most is his energy and his personality. I learned a lot about bergen, fjord, culture, history in one day, he really make sure that he fit a lot of sight seeing in one day

He happened to be a very talented photographer, he took some of my pictures during this trip, and as a courtesy, he actually email Them to me :-. What an amazing picture.
I am so thankful that I found this trip and Got bjorn as my guide. It's definitely worth every penny.

Fabulous day tour ! We found our personal guide Bjorne, to offer great insights and history to our 1st visit to the fjords of Norway. The only glitch was some communication with Viator with confirming and understanding the day's itinerary.

We took this tour as an alternative to Norway in a Nutshell. We enjoyed the more private and individualized experience, as well as the added stops along the way Tvindefossen waterfall and UNESCO site at the Stalheim hotel. We were picked up on time and our tour guide was timely and dependable at each and every stop. Everything was organized in advance, which made it all nice and easy for us. Our guide was very nice. A few things to mention: the description makes it seem like lunch in organized at a specific place it is not, you eat on your own in Flåm and it also makes it sound like the cruise around the fjords is included it is not - it is 70 euros additional - although expensive on top of the tour itself, it was the highlight.

This was the absolute best tour. you could ever take. Our guide, Raivis, was truly amazing! Ask for him if you book this tour! He felt like a part of the family. He picked us up at the hotel, drove us to Gudvangen, via Hotel Stalheim a must see for views where we took the ferry to Flam and then met us. Taking the ferry, even though it cost extra was a must do, it had the most beautiful views. We had lunch told us to get a beer at the bryggerie and then since we had some time before the train to Myrdahl, we went up a very curvy road into the mountains for the most fantastic view of Naeroyafjord. We took the train to Myrdahl, saw wonderful waterfalls...there is a surprise at the most stunning of them and then took the train to Voss. He met us there and we took in another waterfall TLC--forget the song Don't go chasing waterfalls, which was amazing. We all thought this made the trip to Bergen. Also make sure you take the train either from Oslo to Bergen roundtrip or one-way. You will be totally amazed by the views. Raivis was the best tour guide!

It was such a beautiful trip, i highly recommend it. It was a fun trip with my boyfriend, and we have taken in many view that will not be forgotten.

Bergen is a very beautiful country. I would definitely recommend people to go. Our tour guide/driver, Mr Ivan, was indeed a very obliging, honest and helpful man. Thank Jesus that He has blessed us a fantastic guide throughout our whole trip. He is so far the best guide that I have ever met during all my holidays. Highly recommend him to everyone. This is my true and honest comment. He did not pay me to write it.

Ivan was a fantastic guide. If you only have one or two days in the Bergen area, this is a great way to see a lot in a short amount of time. The views in Gudvangen were unbelievable and the train from Flåm was a very special experience. Would definitely recommend.

Nice tour with wonderful sights, however be forewarned when booking this trip! After booking you receive an email confirmation stating that if you want to do the boat ride portion of the trip there is an additional fee, though it clearly states that it is part of the overall itinerary. In addition the last leg of the journey was supposed to be a train ride back to Voss and instead, it was just a very long car ride.

Just a perfect way to see Bergen, the Fjords and surrounding areas. Having a private guide, spacious vehicle is well worth it. Definitely 5 stars!

This is a useful adjunct or similar replacement to Norway in a Nutshell. You will learn more than the go-it-alone trip. It is pricey but worth it for those who have the interest in a closer look at Norway.

Amazing scenery and stunning fjords. The Service left much to be desired, the guide did not know well the places or had the itinerary we had been promised. Bad Service, I wouldn't recommend this travel agency.
I went with my family (7 people in total) all between 17 and 50 years old. We had a great time and the guide (Matt) in this case was very funny and very efficient. Don't miss it!
