Capt. Sven picked us up near our cruise ship and treated us to a lovely day up to Mo for a delicious lunch! Provided fruit, snacks and drinks for us. Got to see some awesome waterfalls as well as swans and sheep, too! Great way to end our vacation. The yacht was perfectly maintained and spacious for 8 of us. Highly recommend.

Itinerary
We depart from Bergen city center, watching the UNESCO World Heritage Site Bryggen from the seaside, with the beautiful backdrop of the seven mountains surrounding the city. Slowly cruising out the fjord, leaving the city behind. Start the cruise with a coffee or tea, and quiet atmosphere onboard our boat.
Passing the suburbs to Bergen on our way up the fjord, watching them pass by in a relaxing speed.
You get to the Osterfjord after 1 hour cruise. We pass under the Nordhordland Bridge, the world’s seventh longest pontoon bridge, and continue up the Osterfjord. Watch the landscape change from the low-lying coastal landscape of the coast to the deep fjords innermost in the Osterfjord, surrounded by majestic mountains and waterfalls. The busy city is now left behind, and replaced by nature and quietness.
Passing some islands, and the old white church at Vike
We are entering the Mostraumen channel, where we will go up with the boat. No cruise ships can go up here, only smaller boats. Watch the farms pass by, with the sheeps watching us, and maybe some swans as well.
Beautifull waterfalls, see pictures
A charming little village, with no other tourists, only us and the locals. We spend some time here, relax and enjoy the nature and waterfalls. Nice waterfalls, majestic mountains, narrow fjords. Possibility for waterfall shower. Great spectacular nature with high mountains, and waterfalls. We guarantee a lovely silence, you just have to enjoy it. Lunch in the local cafeteria can be arranged, or lunch onboard the boat while cruising.
Return cruise to Bergen, where we usually speed up, to go back to Bergen for dinner.
Back to Bergen. We are very flexible on the times, so you can chose if you want a full day experience with our boat, or just go fast to the fjords and back. Typically back in Bergen around 5 PM, this is flexible.

Excellent experience! I strongly recommend. Crew was very attentive, the scenery was beautiful, wonderful day.
Wonderful scenic excursion for our family group of 12 adults and a one year old baby. Perfect full day including a stop at a fabulous cafe in Mo for a delicious late lunch. Captain Svein was very knowledgeable, super accommodating and professional. We saw gorgeous water falls, great granite cliffs, lovely farms with black sheep in the lowlands between the cliffs. We loved every minute.
What a fantastic boat and captain. The fjords are gorgeous, of course. We loved the pace and comfort. Sven made it all about our wants, and was certain to make sure we checked all the boxes. Highlights were swimming in a sunny cove, and getting so close to a waterfall as to be sprayed and refreshed by it. Blankets, snacks and refreshments were provided and really contributed to the upscale luxury experience. Sven’s boat is a beautiful Princess 50. It is clean and maintained like new. Remember to bring layers of clothes, but that doesn’t mean you won’t be super warm at times, if it’s a sunny day. Bring your bathing suit as well for that awesome Nordic plunge experience. We are thinking of coming back for an extended multi-day cruise with See The Fjords. Thank you Sven.
We had an absolutely unforgettable experience with See The Fjords private cruise. From the very first moment, everything felt exclusive, seamless, and thoughtfully curated. The boat itself was beautiful and comfortable, adding a true sense of understated luxury to the entire journey. Surrounded by the breathtaking fjords, it felt like stepping into a private world of calm and natural beauty. What truly made the experience exceptional was the attention to detail and the warm, professional service. The captain was both knowledgeable and discreet, sharing fascinating insights about the fjords and local history while also giving us the space to fully relax and take everything in at our own pace. There was a perfect balance between luxury and authenticity — nothing felt overdone, just genuinely high quality and personal. We could simply sit back, enjoy the silence, the scenery, and the feeling of being completely taken care of. We are deeply grateful for this experience. It was not just a boat trip, but a truly special and memorable way to experience the fjords. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a more private, refined, and unforgettable fjord experience!
Fantastic cruise on the Norwegian Fjords. Very nice and clean boat with refreshments included🤩
We had an absolutely amazing experience with See the Fjords and captain Sven on a private cruise to Modalen. From start to finish, everything felt exclusive and well taken care of. We had amazing lunch onboard, from Fjellskål. The service was excellent, and the captain Sven was friendly, professional, and made us feel very welcome. The scenery was breathtaking, quiet fjords, steep mountains, and waterfalls everywhere. We even got to «shower» in a waterfall. It was a peaceful and personal experience, perfect. Everything was well organized by them, so we could just relax and enjoy the moment. Highly recommended!
We stayed in Bergen last year, and had a cruise to the Modal with this boat. Lovely day on the fjord, with lunch onboard. The whole family of 4 had a great day!!
Fantastic day cruise to the Modal Fjord. Great view in the fjords, with waterfalls and steep hills on both sides of the fjord. Good lunch onboard the boat as well, organized by the company See the Fjords.
A great day with Captain Tony on his boat, taking us from Bergen to the beautiful fjords. Tony served us good atmosphere from the first moment, and as we cruised up the fjord, he also added great view, mountains and many waterfalls. A great slow speed cruise, very relaxing. We had lunch in Modal at the cafe, with good food and great view to the nearest waterfall. No rush during our cruise, so we chose to be back in Bergen around 5:30. Positive: A great activity on a rainy day, the boat was perfect for this.
The cruise was amazing, scenic, and heavenly. It's the perfect way to see the Fjords, and you get to do it at your own pace. The Yatch is in superb condition and luxurious. Overall we strongly recommend it to everyone.
Captain Sven was outstanding! The cruise was perfect and so was his hospitality. Would totally recommend this tour!!!
This tour was the highlight of our time in Bergen! Captain Svein was kind and shared lots of information with us about the fjords and life in Bergen. He even let my father-in-law help steer the boat! The scenery was beautiful and we enjoyed our time on the boat and in Mo. Despite the rainy weather, we were fortunate to see numerous waterfalls and rainbows!
A great day-cruise in Bergen, to the fjords- just as we hoped for. Highlight of our Scandinavia trip. Will recommend it to all our friends.
The cruise to Modal was amazing, with all its waterfalls and great nature. Full day cruise with a lot of memories of an amazing day on the Norwegian Fjords.
Great daycruise from Bergen city to the fjords. Keywords: Relaxing, amazing nature, waterfalls, champagne, good lunch, fjords. Even with a little rain, all was great. Warm and cozy inside the boat, fantastic views. We loved it!
As I am 58 years old and have travelled a lot around the world, I am truly amazed that we could experience this. What a fantastic nature, cruise, cafeteria for lunch in Mo, waterfalls, mountains, all in only 8 hours. The absolutely best day of our trip to Scandinavia, by far!
Taking this Fjord private cruise was a bit of a splurge on our trip to Noraway. There was just five of us on the boat so we felt ridiculously spoiled between the fresh strawberries, snacks, and libations. We throughly enjoyed our day on the water with our captain Svein who was friendly enough without being intrusive. We especially liked our visit to the small village of Mo. Beautiful!
We had such a wonderful day seeing the fjord. We passed by little towns and so many waterfalls. We even saw a flock of swans. The boat was well stocked with lots of drinks and snacks, and we were able to have a late lunch in Mo. The captain was very kind and willing to chat about Norway or leave us to our own devices. It was a perfect day to recover from travel. I would definitely recommend booking.
This was the most enjoyable tour our family of six has ever taken!! Captain Svein was the best. He took us on a tour of the fjord that was spectacular even though we had cloudy weather. He went at a very nice pace so that we could see all that we wanted. Boat was fully stocked with snacks, beer/wine, etc. They called ahead to the cafe we stopped at and the cafe had a table set up for us and it was the best lunch. He took us under a waterfall and we went for a quick swim (cold but worth it!). We were not rushed to do anything at any time which was so enjoyable. We just sat and enjoyed the whole experience. This was the highlight of our trip to Norway and would totally do it again!!
This experience was a splurge for us, and worth every penny. The captain was accommodating every step of the way, and a truly great captain and tour guide. The boat was amazing, very clean and neat, and was stocked with treats. We were able to go to a small town at the top of the fjord and enjoyed a wonderful seafood meal on the boat. It was a magical experience being the only boat in Mo; This day was the highlight of our trip to Norway and would highly recommend!
We did the cruise in January, when it was real winter in Bergen, snow in the city and ice on the fjord. The boat was great, with heated salon, but we still sat upstairs in the winter weather, quite cold, but refreshing, with wool blankets and hot tea and coffee. We went indoor from time to time to get some heat, but the view from top was amazing, so we mostly enjoyed the cruise from there. The fjord was frozen and covered with ice when we got close to the inner end, due to less salt, and mostly fresh water. So we didn`t get all the way inn, but an amazing experience with the winter wonderland of the Norwegian fjords. We enjoyed pre-ordered lunch with various shellfish, and wine onboard the yacht in between the icebergs. Fantastic day 😁
Fantastic winter-cruise to a fjord covered in winter colors and ice. Since we did the cruise in January it was cold in Bergen, but the yacht was warm inside anyway. We had a great time onboard, with a lovely and caring captain. Since it was so cold the fjord was frozen when we got close to the end, but that was amazing, a great experience for the whole family. We got the offer to go ice bathing, but no thanks, too cold for us.... A lovely cruise, reccomended both summer as winter.
Had the most special day celebrating my Husbands birthday on this beautiful private yacht. The day was cool but sunny as we enjoyed the sailing to Modal. Quaint little town with beautiful waterfalls surrounding the area. Iselin helped coordinate all the catered and even picked up all food that I wanted. She even suggested the best bakery for a bday cake. Our captain Karsten was wonderful and very kind, helpful and full of informative information about the area. The yacht was kept in perfect condition, very clean and comfortable. Thank you for making our day memorable.
Excellent charter and the yacht was clean and comfortable with multiple seating areas inside and out! Wonderful time!
Great daytrip on the fjords. We came to Norway to explore fjords, and went to most of them: Hardanger fjord, Sognefjord, Geiranger. However this private cruise was an excellent choice, and worth the price. It`s great to have the boat for yourself for a day, and you can do as you like. We asked for a specific start time, and were also back in the city correspinging to our dinner reservation for the evening. We had ordered lunch from a restaurant to be brought onboard as well, and enjoyed lobster with excellent wine under some waterfalls and great mountains. All great, we loved it.
We had this cruise in June, and we absolutely loved it!! Started just a few steps from the hotelk in Bergen, and welcomed by a smiling captain on a great boat. We had the boat available the whole day, and cruised up the fjords untill lunchtime, where we had booked a seafood buffet to enjoy on the boat. Having this buffet with fresh seafood up in the fjords was a great experience, which will never be forgotten. Wine was included in the cruise, from start to end. Great nature around us, with mountains and waterfalls, lovely boat, exceptional service, and a highlight of our Europe-vacation. We absolutely reccommend it.
I cannot describe how special our day was. The yacht felt safe and was comfortable. Our Captain made us feel at home from the moment we stepped aboard and was attendant to our every need. As a family this was an unforgettable day and we recommend anyone to do this.
Our family of 5 rented a 50' motor boat staffed with a captain to tour some fjords outside of bergen. This was a full day trip and we ended up staying on the boat from 9:30am to about 6pm. The views were gorgeous, the captain was very good and capable and having the boat on our own was fantastic. The highlight of the trip, beyond the views and the overall experience, was the food which we had ordered through the charter company. The food came from a well known seafood restaurant in Bergen and was of excellent quality. The boat provided drinks for the children and the adults. Something to do...
Fantastic private cruise on the fjords of Norway, with a lovely boat and outstanding captain. A great day, highly recommended. With start in the midle of the city the cruise is easy to find, and the captain wish you welcome when you arrive. Having a boat like this all by yourself for a whole day is a perfect way to explore the fjords, and we had the best day of our vacation. Flexible time for return to Bergen, and you can enjoy the cruise for as long as it suits you. Score 10 of 10, and recommended.
This was one of our favorite days in Norway! The yacht is beautiful and the captain was friendly and made us feel completely comfortable and safe the entire time. Since the trip is private, you're really able to do what you want at the speed you want. We enjoyed a leisurely day on the water and the fjords were absolutely beautiful! Would book this again the next time we're in Bergen!
We were recomended this cruise from a couple that did it in 2019, and we have been waiting for our turn to go to Bergen and experience the Norwegian Fjords. We were happy to see that the reccomendation was correct, and we had a lovely day on this boat. Only the two of us, as a private cruise. Champagne and wine included, coffee, tea etc as well, all we needed was available onboard for free. We had brought lunch from Bergen, and did not go ashore in the fjord-village, but understand that is also a great experience, the very remote little town called Mo I think. Great boat and captain, lovely nature and experience. Can absolutely be recomended.
Our family of 5 (adults) spent the day from Bergen to Modalen with the most wonderful scenery. Booking was so easy, and the trip was brilliantly organised taking into account our dietary requirements (vegan), with endless snacks on board. Even the restaurant had been contacted to ensure the food would be appropriate. The boat really was lovely, and the captain full of interesting facts. Highly recommend this trip - avoiding the crowds, and tailored to your own interests.
We had a fantastic tailored 2-day cruise on the Iselina Bella. The yacht is extremely comfortable, clean and refurbished with all sort of drinks and snacks. Our captain Ole was very flexible, friendly and patient with our 3 little kids. Iselin, the owner, has been immensely helpful and available in organizing the trip and customizing it to our needs, including booking restaurants and the hotel, and welcomed us very warmly at one of the stops. In addition to the amazing views of the fjords and the stops at the very nice towns of Jondal and Tysnes, we really liked the incredible Baroniet garden at Rosendal. We’ve been also lucky enough to spot a few dolphins in the fjord. In summary, if you to escape the many tourist traps in Bergen and have a genuine Norwegian experience, this is what you are looking for!
Simply the best way to see and explore the Fjords, starting in the middle of downtown Bergen. Loved it!!
This was a truly memorable, bucket list experience. Our captain was not only skilled but created such a peaceful and relaxed ambiance from which to truly engage with nature. All of the senses were engaged which Ultimately makes it all unforgettable. We are very grateful to our skipper, Captain Svein.
Amazing experience. Boat was beautiful and comfortable. Host was more than hospitable. Highly recommended
Very nice nature in Norwegian fjords and the best captain. I would recommend to everybody!!! We enjoyed our trip very much.
The yacht is very clean and big! We were just 2 people and had the huge boat to ourselves, supplied with nice wine and snacks! We loved sitting at the top to soak in the views, the town Mo is a very tiny quiet village that you can only see with this boat! It was so worth it to see they had a little beach at the town! We got photos that will last a lifetime. The captain stayed in contact with us and answered any and every question immediately. Thank you for this experience!
Trip of a lifetime. Can't wait to book again! Great communication and everything was top notch. Just as advertised.
The favorite part was the waterfall up near Mo village, but the whole day was amazing. The pulse lowered imediately after boarding, and we started enjoying the boat and cruise. We spent 8 hours onboard, which was just perfect. A full day with great nature so close to Bergen, but still som remote. Modal fjord was lovely, even if March is too early to give the best scenery, but still so quiet and nice. We sat on topdeck most of the time, and went inside the saloon when going back to Bergen, which was heated. Lovely boat, the best we have been onboard, and this was ours the whole day. We loved it!!
The scenery up in the fjord was amazing!! Fantastic "slow down" cruise, to stress down, and just enjoy the day with the lovely nature. Since we had 3 days in Bergen, we all agreed that the Fjord-cruise with this private yacht was a must, and the cruise was worth the time and money. For us this was a "stress down" day, just watching and enjoying every minute of the cruise, with the surrounding nature. We did not stop in Modal for a lunch break, but had our own lunch from a bakery in Bergen. Soft drinks, water etc was available included onboard. Reccomended for all quiet seekers, lower the pulse- and enjoy the norwegian nature.
Great fjordcruise from Bergen city. A full day of relaxation and lovely nature, beautiful fjords, mountains, waterfalls. Nice boat, nice crew, and this fjord is probably the best option for a daytrip in Bergen. We were a family of 8, and everybody enjoyed the cruise. Captain had some bottles of wine, coffee, tea, snacks, bottled water, all very well arranged.
The cruise was reccomended by some friends that did this last year. We had planned a Norway trip for half a year, and this private cruise to Modal was on our schedule all the time. This proved to be good planning, as we dit not regret to do this daytrip. The captain of the boat (Mr Svein) met us at Bryggen in Bergen, which is in the middle of the city. It was easy to find the boat, and we were welcomed onboard. We imediately got a good impression, which later got even better- as the service was excellent. The nature along the route was just how we had imagined during the planning (had seen some pictures), even though it was a little cold (Norway wintertime). This was not surprising, and we had some extra warm clothes for being outside as much as possible, at the flybridge on top for best view. We had hot coffee and tea as much as we wanted, and at the return we moved inside where it was warm and cozy, and we even got some wine :) We did not go ashore up in the Modal village, but stayed next to the nice waterfall for a while- just to enjoy it. We were back in Bergen around 5:30 in the afternoon, but also had the offer to get back both sooner or later if we wanted to (very flexible time schedule). As our friends, we would also like to reccomend this trip to others.
What a lovely cruise this was!! From our days in Bergen, this was the best experience by far. Lovely full day cruise with the best service onboard during the cruise. Really nice and service-mined captain serving us wine and snacks, and guiding about the fjords and nature underway. You can go ashore in Modal town for lunch, but we had brought our own from the market in Bergen in the morning. Full day from 09:30 to 17:30, still we also had the option to be back in Bergen before if we wanted to, but we just wanted to enjoy the nature from the yacht. Yes, we would like to reccomend this to families, friends and all.
Great experience, irrespective of rainy weather conditions:) I'd highly recommend this trip for group of friends or families with children. Fantastic views of waterfalls and fjords with snow. Nice lunch with sea food plate (ordered in advance on fish market) and even little bit of fishing left us great souvenirs:) We enjoyed so much, that we d like to be back again and explore other fiords for 2 or 3 days on this yacht. Thank you Svein and Ole!!!
The boat was ordered just two days ahead, but since it was in October it was available on short notice. We were 6 adults and 4 kids, and we boarded the boat at Bryggen in Bergen. Great to see the city and mountains also from the seaside before we left for the Modalen cruise. Excellent weather this day, so we enjoyed all from the flybridge on top. Captain had made coffee and tea for us, and snacks was also available. We spent 3 hours cruising slowly up through the fjords to Modalen, where we arrived after noon sometime. We called upon a nice waterfall and had a small shower (not really a shower since it was a little cold... but could if we wanted to), from the front deck of the boat, as this was manuevered all the way into the waterfall. After that we docked at the quayside, and went ashore. We walked by ourelves for about half an hour, and then back in the boat to enjoy the food we had brought along. I understand it is also possible to have lunch at the local cafè. Anyway it was also a great cruise at slow speed back down to Bergen as well, and the speed was adjusted to when we wanted to be back. We all loved the cruise, and it is really reccomended to do a private cruise instead of the fast ferry going the same route with a lot of people onboard. You really feel exclusive and VIP on this trip, you have the whole yacht for only your family. Great :)
Great full day Private yacht cruise to the Fjords outside Bergen, the Modalen fjord and villlage. Also a stop for shore excursion on our own, to meet the locals in the small petite village of Mo. Marvelous nature on the way, all enjoyed from the top of the boat. If you have one day in Bergen, we reccomend this Fjordcruise with a private yacht.
We had a lovely fjordcruise with this boat to Modalen this summer, a perfect day just as we hoped for. Sun was shining, and the nature was awesome!! We even had a swim in the Fjord near the waterfalls, and a great lunch up in the end of the fjord before we returned to Bergen. Absolutely reccomended!! Great crew on the boat as well, very helpfull.
The cruise was from Bergen in August -19, and we started from Bryggen 09:30 in the morning. We had agreed to be back in Bergen around 6PM, so we had the full day cruise. Lovely surroundings up in the Fjords, and the village of Modalen itself was amazing!! So quiet and nice, and really friendly people up there. Nice waterfalls, everything so clean, quiet and pristine. Lovely day, absolutely worth it!!
