We had a wonderful day thanks to our very good driver Lynda and our wonderful guide Maria (apologies if spelling wrong) from start to finish everything was so well organised. The highlight was definitely the Naeroyfjord cruise but the Flam railway and even the train journey to Voss was beautiful. Our guide was very informative not only about the day but also other areas of Bergen. Cannot recommend this trip enought

Itinerary
Tvindefossen is a waterfall near Voss on the road to Flam. The many-stranded 110 meters high waterfall is formed by a small stream, the Kroelvi, tumbling over a receding cliff. It is famous for its beauty and many stop here to admire it. In the late 1990s the water at Tvindefossen acquired a reputation for rejuvenation and revival of sexual potency that made it one of the most important natural tourist attractions in western Norway, with as many as 200,000 people a year from the U.S., Japan and Russia visiting and filling containers with the water. At one point it was Norway's ninth most visited natural attraction, with 272,000 visitors.
The small village of Stalheim lies along the highway in the northeastern part of the Voss municipality. The village sits at a high point in the inner part of the Naeroydal valley which leads northeastwards towards the Naeroyfjorden. The highway runs through a series of tunnels to descend into the valley. The Stalheimsfossen waterfall is the most notable sight in the area and the amazing view from Stalheim hotel is well-known from several paintings.
Viking Valley is located in Gudvangen - in the heart of the unique fjord landscape in the Naeroyfjord, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Here we find the Viking town of Njardarheimr, which breathes new life into the history and culture of the Viking Age. The gates are open to anyone interested in experiencing and learning about the Vikings and how they lived, worked and influenced the world around them. Here you can move between the houses and become part of a living city - an international community of Viking enthusiasts.
The Naeroyfjord is a narrow fjord in the municipality of Aurland in Sogn og Fjordane county and is a branch of the large Sognefjord. The 18-kilometre (11 mi) long fjord is only 250metres (800 ft) wide in some parts. The river Naeroydalselvi flows down the valley Naeroydalen into the fjord at the village of Gudvangen. Since 2005, the Naeroyfjord has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, and it has also been rated by National Graphic Society as the world's number one natural heritage site.
Aurlandsfjord flows through the municipalities of Auland, Vik and Laerdal. The 29-kilometre (18 mi) long fjord is a branch off of the main Sognefjorden, Norway's longest fjord. The fjord is deep and narrow, reaching a depth of about 962 metres (3,156 ft) and its width is generally less than 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) wide. About 11 kilometers (6.8 mi) south of the mouth of the fjord, the Naeroyfjord branches off from it to the west. The village of Flam sits at the innermost part of the Aurlandsfjord; other villages along the fjord are Aurlandsvangen and Undredal. Most of the fjord is surrounded by up to 1,800-metre (5,900 ft) tall, steep mountains with little habitation along the fjord except for in a few small valleys.
Kjosfossen waterfall is one of the most visited tourist attractions in Norway. Its total fall is around 225 metres (738 ft). There is a small power station on the waterfall which is used to power the Flam Line railway.
The Bergen Railway is a 496 kilometres (308 mi) long scenic standard gauge railway line between Bergen and Oslo. It is the highest mainline railway line in Northern Europe, crossing the Hardangervidda plateau at 1,237 metres (4,058 ft) above sea level. The railway opened from Bergen to Voss in 1883 as the narrow Voss gauge line. In 1909 the route was continued over the mountain to Oslo and the whole route converted to standard gauge and the Voss Line became part of the Bergen Line. The line is single track and was electrified in 1954-64. The Flam Railway remains as the only branch line, after the closure of the Hardanger Line.
Flam Railway is a 20.2-kilometer (12.6 mi) long railway line between Flam and Myrdal. A branch line of the Bergen Line, it runs through the valley of Flamsdalen and connects the mainline with Sognefjorden. The line's elevation difference is 866 meters (2,841 ft); it has ten stations, twenty tunnels and one bridge. The maximum gradient is 5.5 percent (1:18). Because of its steep gradient and picturesque nature, the Flam Line is now almost exclusively a tourist service and has become the third-most visited tourist attraction in Norway. Construction of the line started in 1924, with the line opening in 1940. It allowed the district of Sogn access to Bergen and Oslo via the Bergen Line. Electric traction was taken into use in 1944.

Our guide Tracey was amazing. She was a wealth of information and really gave us a wonderful tour. The driver Paul was terrific- he was a great driver.
We absolutely loved the tour! The fjords were magnificent. The views from the train journeys were stunning. We really enjoyed the guided tour at the Viking village- it was engaging and they told us lots of interesting info. Our fantastic guide, Maria, was genuinely lovely and went above and beyond to ensure we had a great trip. She was very knowledgable. Linda was our brilliant driver and she was also very welcoming and friendly!
Norway best booked independent tickets for each leg eg ferry. Bus one way from Flam to gudvagen viking village & boat trip back to flam. Next day took Flambana up to Vatnalhousen to take zipline & bike trip down. We didn't need a guide the viking village did a 45minute your of village included in entry which was good. We had enough time after free guided tour to do axe throwing & archery before catching 5 pm boat back to Flam. Boat gave free commentary along the route. Not crowded September 8 no cruise boat that day in Flam helped.
An excellent day trip with Linda and Maria! The whole day ran very smoothly, the bus was well equipped for a comfortable journey, with good information provided throughout. The Viking village was very immersive and we really enjoyed the guided tour! The fjord tour was amazing, breathtaking views and not overcrowded. The Flamsbana journey was stunning and also not too crowded
We had a fantastic full-day tour in Bergen with our guide, Ivan. The meeting point and instructions were easy to find, and everything started right on time. Ivan was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience enjoyable. Highly recommended!
Well organized with friendly, cheerful guides and beautiful scenery. So many photo opportunities with sprinkling of local history.
Our tour guide Tracy was fantastic. She guided us from bus, two train rides, boat & bus again with perfection. She always let us know best spots for pictures.
Absolutely amazing experience and worth every penny. Linda was our driver and Maria the guide. Kept us all on track and we packed a lot into one day. We would not have been able to do it on our own. We loved each stop and the time taken to make sure we could make the most of the day. The cruise through the fjords was spectacular.
It was fabulous. Every bit of it. We had a beautiful Mercedes bus with charging stations at each seat that reclined. We had 2 diff rail way cars, with bathrooms. We stopped at all the best places to sightsee and the Viking village was magnificent . The tour guide was wonderful as well;) Overall the best luxurious tour we have done. Well worth the money. ;)
Wanted to experience Flam and this whole day trip looked to cover all options. It was really good. Our guide was amazing and had so much knowledge. There is a long bus ride, then a train journey to catch the Flam line. This was amazing and our guide talked us through all the sights. When you stop at the waterfall, do get off the train and walk to the end to see them properly, it will be worth it. Then off at Flam we got the lovely ferry trip along the fjord. Viking village was a good experience. Overall this was really worthwhile and if you have a day then this is worth it.
This was a EXCELLENT all day tour; María our tour guide and Linda our driver, were Amazing, our tour it was in Spanish, a small group and Maria it was always given a lots of information and tips, very knowledgeable; even helpful because we encountered with a delay (it was a accident on the road) and she calm the restaurant to move our reservation for later!!! Is a really nice full day of different activities, in the Viking village, beautiful nature to admire in the fjords and all the ride on the train; is really worth your money.
Such an inspiring day! Lorenzo is a wonder of knowledge and good cheer. Linda is a confident, friendly driver. It’s a very full day of sightseeing.
Excellent tour, we had a great day!
The trip was great. It is a lot to fit into one day, but the guide made it easy. There were places i wish we had more time, but the schedule of the train and ferry didn’t allow it.
The guide Maria and the driver Linda were extremely professional and knowledgeable. The trip was so well organised and we were blessed with the weather.
The guide and driver were great. The train and cruise were also very good. The Viking Village was tired, a little run down and not a great experience
Tracy Anne Michael were funny, informative and a joy to be around. We had a great tour,
Well planned journey through Norway’s organic beauty. Guide well informed and great with guests (Maria). Great sampling of the many beauties Norway has to offer.
Make sure you are put on the correct bus! We missed seeing sites we had chosen to see and paid $100 each more than the trip we were put on.
Incredible Natural scenery!!! The plus is the great explanation of everything by Maria our tour guide and all in Spanish!!! our driver Linda excellent; and a very organized on the times and places we visit, I love always the great tour we have with Viator.
The tour left absolutely zero time in Flam to shop, we got off the train and directly onto the cruise boat. It was probably a timing thing but would have been nice to be able to shop for at least fifteen minutes.
Spectacular scenery all day long whether on the bus, boat or train. Our guide was knowledgable, personable and made great recommendations for places to see in Bergen.
This tour was amazing! Tracy our guide and Micheal our driver were excellent. Very informative, knowledgeable and witty. We learned so much about the area. The boat ride through Fjords was absolutely beautiful! Everything was organized and we had no problems at any of the stops.
We booked this Bergen–Flåm tour months in advance for our family, including a family of adults and 1 infant (0–3 years old). A few days before the tour, we contacted the company to change the booking because one of our travelers was injured, reducing the reservation from to 3 adults (no infants). The booking was updated without any issue. Then, on the morning of the tour, we arrived at the meeting point and were told that our booking had already been cancelled because infants were not allowed. This was never communicated to us when we booked. There was nothing on the Viator or Tripadvisor booking page stating that infants were prohibited, same with our email confirmation. What makes this even more frustrating is that after being told our booking was cancelled, I went back onto Viator and was able to make a new booking for the exact same tour for 1 adult and 1 infant. The booking system clearly allows infants to be selected. I also spoke with the manager at the meeting point about the situation, but unfortunately we were still unable to take the tour. Cancelling a tour at the last minute after it was booked months in advance is extremely disappointing, particularly when the supposed restriction was never disclosed and is contradicted by the online booking system and confirmation email. I would strongly recommend avoiding this company, especially if you are traveling with an infant or child. We had planned an important part of our trip around this tour, and the last-minute cancellation left us with a visit to Flam. I would not book with this company again.
Our guide was fantastic even through the drama of a scheduling glitch, making sure everyone got what they came for. The tour did not disappoint - stunning views and a great experience.
More tourists than I liked. Felt more like a carnival than a educational experience
This was a wonderful tour. It covered Norway in a Nutshell and more! Fantastic organization and narration. Great use of time without feeling rushed. Felt we were in good hands with an excellent bus driver and new, clean bus. Our guide was quite knowledgeable. It was a fun day!
This tour is a summary of several tours all in one. Had a great time and would do it again loved Tracy and Linda they are amazing and we had alot of time on our own. We got lots of information about Norway especially Bergen.
One of the best yours in Norway Mr Anderson tour guide was Amazing We love to come back again
Cost of the tour is much higher than the value to do the tour. The package should be about $500 at a max for what you get
The tour was an excellent value and well-organized. We really enjoyed the variety of travel modes and got to see so many things. Highly recommend!
Tracy - our tour guide was great: funny, knowledgeable, courteous. Even with rain the tour was great. WiFi was not working on the bus, but was working on the ship and on regular Vy train from Voss to Myrdal. Drive on the bus was smooth and easy.
This was a very well organised tour with our guide Lorenzo and driver Paul doing a fantastic job of keeping us on time and on track for the next phase of the tour. Lorenzo gave a great run down of the tour as we headed to Vos and then a lot of history to Norway. The Flåm railway is spectacular and well worth doing as was the fjord cruise with sensational scenery and waterfalls. The Viking village was good but not the highlight. Even though the tour is long, time seemed to go quickly and not a lot of walking required. Overall a very worthwhile trip and value for money.
This excursion included a visit to the Viking village and a separate waterfall. Both of these could have been excluded and shortened a very long day.
Very well organized, knowledgeable guide very good driver, easy to book, the hole experience is excellent
This trip was very enjoyable, informative and a pleasure. Our tour guide and driver were extremely friendly, respectful and engaging. Tracy, our tour guide, was very informative. Micheal, our driver, was really friendly and joyful. What my family mostly liked was the pace they were going at; they took their time and gave us plenty of time to enjoy the activities there were to offer. This tour is most ideal for older folks, families with young children and slow movers. It's definitely worth the price we paid.
Everything very welll planned.... But be pepared for Norway's weather. Maria, the guide, was very kind, and professional.
Very informative, amazing views, leaves right from Bergen. They made everything easy on a rainy day.
This pricey tour is worth it because you cover an incredible set of sceneries on 4 different transports yet can relax while others handle the logistics and driving. And it’s all in one day. (I added the costs of a do it myself and this tour for 2 was less than the extra overnight, rental car, gas, fees, extra day food) Every aspect was well worth the time. You are helped by some commentary from your guides especially on the bus ride out from Bergen. We had intermittent rain and cool temperatures throughout the day but still enjoyed the views (the clouds were high) and didn’t mind the wet. Everyone seemed prepared with high tech rain gear. A “warning”. You will travel with 50+ others and mostly on transport that provides limited commentary. Be prepared for big crowds in certain places as several tours come together.
A beautiful tour! The waterfalls along the fjords were breathtaking. The guide was lovely and informative. Switching up the different methods of transportation helped prevent fatigue and kept us attentive. A truly lovely day.
Our 10 hour excursion was packed to the brim with everything you might want to do in Norway – an amazing and exhilarating train trip to Flam, a gorgeous two hour fjord cruise, stops for other beautiful waterfalls, and a visit to a Viking village. Everything was done with excellence and the guides were professional and helpful. Highly recommended!
Villa was a wonderful guide and helped us learn much about Norway’s history and landscape. She was always looking out for us. The scenery was unbelievably beautiful! Great day for 3 generations of our family!
Was a great tour. Guide and driver were very knowledgeable and accommodating. I especially enjoyed the Fjord cruise. It was breathtaking. The food selection onboard the boat was a bit lacking.
So fun and interesting. Loved our enthusiastic hosts and appreciative of great information and experience.
Fully packed schedule - bus, two trains, fjord cruise and then back to the bus. But you get to see so many things in one day! Norway is a beautiful country and the fjords are so majestic. Vilde is very knowledgeable and friendly, and Michael is the best driver! Lots of good photos and memories with my family ❤️
The trip was very well-organized from start to finish. Super enjoyable ride with breathtaking views of the fjords and mountains. Our guide was excellent – knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommended!
We really enjoyed our day long tour --the ride on the Flåm railway was so beautiful and the fjord cruise was SPECTACULAR! I had low expectations for the Viking Village, but it was really great too -- we had a very well informed guide who delivered a well paced talk about the Vikings' history, society & accomplishments. Our tour guide Maria was outgoing and lively, and our bus driver Linda was great! I really appreciated her finding my prescription glasses (that I left on the bus) and leaving them for me to pick up the next day. 👍👍👍👍
We had an absolutely amazing experience on the Guided Day Tour – Nærøyfjord Cruise, Njardarheimr Viking Village & Flåm Railway. First and foremost, we would like to give special thanks to our driver, Michael, and our guide, Vilda. Their dedication, kindness, and professionalism truly made this tour exceptional. They were always friendly, approachable, and more than willing to help with anything we needed, making everyone feel welcome and well taken care of. The tour itself was simply perfect. Honestly, there isn’t a single thing we would change. Every part of the journey was beautifully organized, and the entire experience was unforgettable. The breathtaking scenery, combined with the excellent planning and seamless organization, made for a truly magical day. Everything was handled with a high level of professionalism, and it was clear that great care had gone into every detail. We are incredibly grateful for such a wonderful experience. We wholeheartedly recommend this tour to everyone—whether you’re traveling as a family with a small baby (as we were), as a couple, with friends, as a student, or as a senior. This fairy-tale journey has something for everyone, and we’re sure anyone who takes it will leave with unforgettable memories. Best regards Dora, Eva, Gabi, Toni & Ivana
Fantastic day we had coach rides, 2 trains and a boat. Everything was perfectly coordinated and on time, a real feat for a full coach load of people. Each step was great, the train rides, the fjord cruise and the Viking Village and finally a major waterfall, such amazing scenery. Guides and driver were really helpful without being overpowering. A very full day but well worth the effort and cost.
