Our guide was incredible. She was incredibly knowledgeable about the city and Norway itself. Turns out she has a PhD in Norwegian history. She was fun and very accommodating. The first two foods, the fish cake and the salmon bun were not that thrilling. However, the other three places we went were phenomenal.

My husband, son, and I did the 3 hour tour yesterday. We had Tomas as our tour guide and he was delightful. We started at the fish market with fish cake and a schilling bolle with brunkase and apple cider. All delicious. Tomas is a native but is very well traveled and shared so many interesting stories about Bergen. We stopped got soup at Dr Wiesen’s, a repurposed century old bathhouse, has a warm drink at the best coffee house and completed our trip in am amazing ( and haunted) bar. I highly recommend this tour. We thoroughly enjoyed it
It was nice. It would have been better to sample a few more Norwegian foods. Also to have recommendations on place to eat.
Sandra our tour guide was terrific. We started with Fish Cakes and cider as we toured the fish market. Then we wandered over to the back alleys of Bryggen where our guide explained the Hanseatic League quite well. Then off to a small tavern for some soup. She then guided us through the oldest part of Bergen we stopped for an "apple pie drink". Our tour finished at what was described at the oldest tavern in Bergen. A very nice experience with a great guide.
Such a great tour! Our tour guide was so knowledgeable about the history of Bergen and the small group size made it much easier to both hear and interact with our guide. There were only 4 of us in the group, my partner and I and another couple from the States. Food was wonderful as well and u would definitely recommend this tour.
Claudia was or tour guide, she was very knowledgeable and engaging. Compared to other food tours we've done in Europe this one didn't have a great deal of food.
Very interesting The guide was fun and very knowledgeable She took us to places we would not have found on our own
Disappointing in this food tour. Better choices and a couple of extra stops would have been better. Nice guide but not worth the money paid. This was the first good tour for our friends and they were not impressed. Hope they will try again as they travel a lot.
Great walk in Bergen. Ana is a native to Bergen and had great stories to tell. She took us around back streats and alies
We loved the culture and history information that was provided, and very much enjoyed the food. Our guide was casual and fun and interesting.
Wonderful time. Knowledgeable about area and went to some great off the beaten path spots. Fun interacting with her.
The tour was great. Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly. The pace was good as we explored the area around the city center. It was a good opportunity to taste Norwegian food. But best of all, she did a great job of telling the history of the city. Lots of great stories. The restaurants/bars we went to were off the beaten track. It was a nice walk through the streets above the harbor. Nice, nice people in tge group!
Wonderful afternoon walking to off the beaten spots in Bergen. Great food choices and lovely guide
It was a lot of fun. Interesting areas and yummy food/drink tastings. Our guide, Anna, was full of little stories.
Great introduction to the historical Bergen with a local food and drinks along the way. Our guide was very informative with great stories. Perfect tour for a first day in Bergen.
We were lucky to have a small group of four. The tour was relax and educational. We like the tour guide Corki and we really enjoyed.
The tour guide was a decent at a museum and so had a lot of stories.
Best bang for the buck I spent. The guide gives you a wonderful history lesson regarding Bergen. You see so much on this walk and enjoy some really great food and drink along the way.
This tour is more culture than food tour. Our guide seemed a bit inexperienced. Two of our stops involved apple cider tasting. A bit disappointed in the variety of food items we tried.
Great guide. A good amount of walking but not too much. The culture and history part of the tour were outstanding. Unfortunately the food was only average.
This was a wonderful way to experience the city and Norwegian food! Our guide was fun and full of knowledge.
Thomas was a good guide, but there were way too many people on this tour and folks in the back couldn’t hear. The food choices were mediocre, and stops for different foods too limited. The sizes of the portions were too large, to make up for the limited scope of the stops. This was better as a walk around town than as a food tour.
We had a wonderful adventure with our guide Thomas. We learned a lot, enjoyed the food and drink and the great stories! Pace was great and Thomas got the group engaged and we made some new friends
Wonderful mix of history, culture and food. Nice to see Bergen from this lens. Guide was very informative.
This was a fabulous experience, so much more than just a food tour. I really enjoyed Sandra, she was very personable & knowledgeable I appreciated seeing the non-touristy areas she showed us in Bergen. So much fun!
Sandra was an excellent guide, the tour started with fish cakes, cinnamon rolls& cider. Initially toured fish market then to Bryggen where our guide gave a detailed explanation of the Hanseatic League. Meandered up some hills where we had a traditional Norwegian soup. Guide led us through some old neighborhoods to a stop which featured a liquid apple pie. It ended in on of the oldest taverns in Norway with a beer. Very informative, our guide knew all the facts and nuances of this wonderful culture.
The tour guide was great! It was a fun experience with a good range of food to taste. There was a good amount of history and story telling.
Very informative and sampling of various Norwegian foods! Guide was entertaining and knowledgeable. Food was delicious!
Really enjoyed the tour with friendly knowledgeable tour guide, learnt a lot about the area and enjoyed tasty local foods
We had a lovely time on this food and culture tour. Our guide Sandra was very knowledgeable answering all questions we had, we learnt som very interesting facts and stories about Bergen along the way! Can thoroughly recommend!
The tour was ok. The food was low budget. The guide was good and took us to different parts of town it was interesting
Everything was great from the food choices to the historical information provided by the host. Andrea was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. We would highly recommend this tour.
A great tour, lots of interesting sights within Bergen and a great guide. Andrea was knowledgeable, friendly, warm and engaging. We really enjoyed her company as well as the tour. Highly recommended.
We spent a wonderful afternoon with Ole as our guide. Lucky for us, we were the only two in the group! Ole not only took us to great places to experience the local foods, but Ole was also an excellent historian. We learned so much about Bergen and the people who lived there, fought and worked there. A big fishing port, fires, military, royalty, etc. We experienced foods that we never had before such as fish cakes, brown cheese on a cinnamon roll, dried cod, veal and pork soup, apple juice (warm) with whipped cream on top, and ending up in an old pub for Norwegian beer. While sipping on a few beers, Ole explained the history, and paintings in this old establishment, which added to the experience. We highly recommend this tour and give Ole the highest recommendation.
Our guide, Mary Ann, provided us with knowledgeable information as she led us to parts of Bergen that most people never see. She was charming and personable while doing that. The food and drinks provided were very enjoyable and well-timed. We recommend this is a great first time tour of Bergen
Mar Ann was an exceptional guide. Great information and pace! We had an awesome time. The food was great and gave us a great idea of local fare! The oldest bar in Norway was a treat and a great way to end the tour!
This was one of the best walking food tours I have ever done. We got a nice bit of history and culture and got to try some truly amazing ditches, mostly from street food vendors frequented by locals. This made the experience even better because we got to taste authentic food. Our guide was amazing and allow us time to look around a fruit market where we got to pick up a few fruits for later that we don’t usually see in the US. All in all this was an outstanding experience.
My wife and I went on the Food and Culture walk and had a great time! Our guide was very knowledgeable in the history, culture, and area. We had some great food dished and drinks! We keep a good pace (not too fast/slow) and covered a lot of ground. would 10 out of 10 recommend!
Great tour with lots of interesting information and a great guide. Food was tasty and the story behind them good history.
We had Serena as our tour guide. She was very informative and made the tour fun and educational, as well as answering our countless questions. The food was very tasty and we were told a lot about it, and it never felt like we were rushed when eating it. Overall would definitely recommend.
Ole was wonderful … a little soft spoken , but very Knowledgeable ! Great stories and history and fun treats and drinks ! Interesting places!
A great tour around Bergen. Serena provided an interesting tour about the city and its history giving us information we would not have found out ourselves. The food and drink were also very good. We all enjoyed it.
A lot of history along with different kinds of food and drink but the best part is the love story and beer at the end in the royal cellar!
This was a memorable experience. Our guide, Andrea, was the best! Food (albeit not a lot of different options) and drinks were very good. We heartily recommend Bergen visitors doing this. You will learn so much!
What a great experience we had with our guide, Frida. She was incredibly knowledgeable about Bergen history and shared so many stories about the places we visited. The food we sampled was wonderful and we went back to two of the places we visited the next day for meals. Thank you, Frida!
Fantastic experience! Our guide was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and was full of fun stories about the places we visited. Highly recommend this tour of beautiful Bergen!
We had a great time on this tour! Got to walk a lot of the city, eat some good food, and hear a lot of history and stories. I highly recommend!
Guide Our guide was pleasant enough, but she wasn't able to answer many of the questions she was asked. Also the stories dragged on a bit too long - it took 25 minutes to tell the prince story and it wasn't really worth it... Food The food was very disappointing. It started with a fish cake (I didn't like it but others did). We continued with a cinnamon bun with brown cheese. This was the highlight ! We also had 20 ml of apple juice and some dried fish. It continued with lunch which was a disappointing soup of lamb, that most people did not enjoy. A small salad was offered to those who didn't want soup which was apparently just fine. Post that, we had a "liquid apple pie". This was warm apple juice with some cream on top. I threw that in the bin. Last stop, we had a 50 ml beer. I had to buy a sandwich after the tour as I was still hungry. Overall we were a bit disappointed by the lack of depth of knowledge on the part of the tour guide, but mostly that the food offered wasn't really pleasant or enough. I think replacing the soup stop may have improved it significantly!
Our guide was nice but a challenge to understand what she was saying. We felt the places and food was so-so.
We had a great tour of Bergen! This was different from other food tours where we only stopped in one location to eat there (and a sit down lunch) the other food was brought out to us. This format worked fine and we really enjoyed the lunch. The food on the tour was great -interesting and with the history of Bergen. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and we learned much about the history of the city. This helped us appreciate our stay so much more.
