Fabulous trip. Beautiful scenery. Very good commentary. We drove right up to the mountain, the strait, and the tiny pencils. This is absolutely worth r time and money.

Itinerary
UNESCO World Heritage site.
Northern Europe's largest 'inland' island completely surrounded by fjords.
Experience Fjordcharter Norway's 3.5-hour round trip between Bergen and Modalen. The tour will take you between steep mountains and deep fjords, starting at Zachariasbryggen and heading towards Modalen. On the way out of Bergen we pass the famous "Bryggen i Bergen" old Skuteviken, Sandviken and past old Bergen. The trip continues through the old Viking country and the famous tidal stream, Mostraumen offers wild and beautiful scenery. Departure: 11.00 from Zachariasbryggen v/Fisketorget. We will return to Bergen and arrive 14.30.
Hamre was one of the first places where Christianity arrived in Norway at the beginning of the 11th century, and one of the first places where a church was built. The original church was built in 1024, whereas the one you see today was built in the 17th century.
Mostraumen is a man-made canal connecting what used to be a lake to the fjord. Is is a very narrow passage surrounded by steep mountains.

Reviews
Beautiful waterfalls towards the end of the fjord. Comfortable boat ride with restrooms on board. Wear warm clothes and bring umbrella or raincoat. It is often rainy in Bergen.
Boat ride was good. Despite other reviews about crowded boats, I thought the boat was a good size. There were not a lot of people on the tour, but I could imagine the viewing deck on the top of the boat would get crowded during summer time when it’s warmer. Took this tour in October so there weren’t as many people. Because it was October it was cool and windy on the upper deck of the boat, so dress warmly during non-summer months. I was expecting the fjords to be a lot taller, but this is an easily accessible fjord from the city, so maybe other fjords are more “majestic”. The tour guide did mention the flow of the waterfalls highly depends on recent rain. During our tour it hadn't been very rainy in the preceding days, so the waterfalls weren't as robust, but they were still flowing! It was a nice experience, convenient and well organized.
We are a family of four (1 toddler and 1 infant) and we had an amazing experience! The cruise boat was well maintained and the crew was very friendly. Although the weather wasn’t great enough, it was mostly rainy and windy, we enjoyed the cruise at most. We highly recommend it to everyone!
Brilliant trip and a highlight of our time in Bergen. Very informative and the most beautiful scenery.
Well organised, friendly crew, excellent information, and good value for money. Very impressive scenery
Great to see Fjord area and waterfalls, great photo opportunity and best Captain in the world, great commentary
It was hard to find the ship due to construction around the entrance. Everything else was great. The tour guide was excellent. The ship was comfortable. The scenery was breathtaking especially at the end of the fjord. We would do this again.
Amazing, beautiful fjords! The cruise itself was great, comfortable and relaxing. The glass windows are large enough to take photos from the warm cabin inside, but I had the best time being outside with the nature and the breeze. We were very lucky to have sunny, clear weather, although that meant the waterfalls in the fjords did not have much water to show for like usual but still a pleasant cruise. Autumn season still gave the fjords a lovely yellow-and-green fall foliage color.
The scenery is beautiful, the boat journey was well organised. Good value for money.
We bought this tour months ahead of time. The day of the booking was foggy and raining. I asked if it was still a go and they said yes. They should’ve offered an optional refund. I wasted 4 hours of my day looking at fog on a boat. It was awful. The only thing I can say is the speaker was telling us what we could see outside the window but it was just fog. She was enthusiastic. So I guess there is that. People were sleeping in the boat out of pure boredom. Also, they said to meet in the fish market . We got there waiting in the rain only to see people getting on a boat. No signs. Nobody to tell you where to go. Window seating was mostly taken once we figured it out. Miserable day. I know the weather isn’t their fault but they should’ve offered a refund as an option. So, my advice. Don’t buy tickets until the day of the tour to see if it’s worth it with the weather that way you aren’t throwing money and time away like we did.
The boat ride was very interesting and the guide we had was very good at telling us the history of the area. His English was very good.
Beautiful fjord views, knowledgeable guide. Learned a lot about history between Norway, Denmark, and Sweden. Lucky to have a fairly clear day to travel on to get clear views of the harbour and fjords.
Spectacular scenery only a short distance away
Beautiful journey and great commentary with lots of info for the trip. Even the teenagers, enjoyed the journey.
Very good guide and nice today and comfortable boat and also warm. Perfect amount of time to see everything
Great trip for those without a lot of time. Punctual and informative. Our guide was great and we were lucky to have no rain!
An enjoyable cruise amidst Norway's world famous fjords. The landscapes are to die for, this was truly unforgettable. For an activity running from 11:00 to 2:30, straight across lunchtime, the cafeteria only had some sweets to offer, nothing resembling lunch. This is an oversight, management should recognize the time of day.
This fjord cruise was one of the highlights of our trip to Bergen. The 4-hour duration was perfect: long enough to experience the breathtaking scenery without ever feeling too long, and definitely great value for money. What really made the experience special was the live guide. The commentary was informative, engaging, and full of fascinating insights about the region’s history, culture, wildlife, and nature. It added so much depth to the journey and helped us appreciate what we were seeing beyond the beautiful landscapes. The views throughout the cruise were absolutely stunning. Sailing through the narrow fjords, surrounded by steep mountains and dramatic cliffs, felt like being inside a postcard. The waterfalls were particularly impressive, cascading down the mountainsides and creating unforgettable photo opportunities. The combination of spectacular scenery, interesting historical and natural information, and a comfortable, well-paced cruise made this a truly memorable experience. I would highly recommend the Bergen Mostraumen Fjord Cruise to anyone visiting Bergen. It's the perfect way to experience the beauty of Norway’s fjords and learn about the region at the same time.
👍not going there would be missing a lot
This was a beautiful cruise to the fjords. Everything was well organized and informative. The crew was very nice and helpful.
Beautiful tour of the fjords. Great staff and since it was a misty wet day the guide would tell us when to go outside and see sights.
Very comfortable boat. Relaxing views that were incredible. Would highly recommend especially for those in town a few days.
everything was great, same port as the cruise ship docked no additional traveling, and the tour of the fjords was absolutely amazing very beautiful seriously recommend.
Fabulous scenery. Your guide was great, knowledgeable, informative, clear. Overall breathtaking & relaxing
A lovely cruise with great views, information, and drinks & snacks on board - even with some rain, very fun!
Great trip with a knowledgeable guide. Beautiful scenery and even had a small cafe on board.
Really enjoyed the experience. Beautiful sites. Boat seating was very comfortable. Our guide was excellent.
This boat had very few quality viewing areas. The crew did a good job of turning around so all sides could see various attractions, but it was way to crowded for good photography
Beautiful tour but very chilly despite sunny weather which is rare there. Guide spoke broken english but made a good effort to inform.
Great tour, with stunning views of the fjords. Takes a little while to get to the fjords in question but once you pass under the bridge after exiting Bergen harbour you hit the money. The live commentary was easy to hear as we spent the start of the journey outside at the back of the boat. You can also get a drink and snacks and move about fairly well onboard to maximise your experience, as we went to stand the prow for the return journey. We were also lucky to have clear blue skies and no rain!
Lovely view the entire trip …. Enjoyed immensely — very good narration. Crew was excellent — would do again
We had e beautiful day and accommodation was clean.
Fantastic way to spend a few hours through the fjords, an absolute must if staying in Bergen. The boat is very clean, comfortable, with a stocked bar and toilets. Really fantastic commentary from Laura, also. Thank you!
The boat was extremely comfortable and easy to see all the beauty around us! The narrator was very knowledgeable but I will say his very strong accent made it difficult to understand him at times.
Great way to see the Fjord and the English tour rep was very good. Both my wife and I enjoyed the 3.5 hr tour
Very comfortable boat and although there was qite a bit of rain during the tour it was enjoyed by the entire walk.
We had a great experience. Our guide was informative, knowledgeable and funny. A real mix of all weather conditions added to the experience.
Fantastic. A long and detailed tour into the Fjords.
Easy to find , decks were great ! Live commentary was also interesting. Good service and all on time. We really enjoyed our tour
Good rainy day activity but honestly we wish we would have done more research on the Bergen climate.
The accommodations were great. Value for the money I guess was ok.
What an experience! Fabulous views of waterfalls, villages, sand natural fjord beauty with interesting commentary. Excellent introduction to fjords!
Amazing views. Well worth the $92. Get there about 30 minutes early if end of summer season. Maybe earlier if the height of the season.
Loved this trip. Would highly recommend. The live tour guide was very good and the scenery was stunning even in the rain.
Comfortable boat, knowledgeable guide, spectacular waterfalls.
Beautiful scenery, live guide was easy to listen to, fun facts, informative.
Very informative 31/2 hour journey. Guide was very good. Never realized how large the area was. Plenty of time to ask questions and take pictures
Highly recommended. Well-organized, clean, and comfortable (enclosed lower level, with plenty of comfortable seating that reminded me of theater seating in the states). If you think you want to stay indoors for the trip get there early (abt 30 min) as the seating along the windows fills up fast. Windows were large and you can still see out them from the other seats. You really need a 3.5 hour tour to have the fjord experience because for the first hour it seems like a lake cruise. Go topside or the front of the boat for a wind through your hair experience. You can move about the ship as you please. The guide made the experience especially rich, explaining about life in the fjord, the weather and reason for the colors of paint used on buildings. Had a hot chocolate from a machine for 5.5 on the way back and it was good.
Very nice ship. Interesting live commentary. First half of the cruise is through the wider fjord, so it gets more dramatic and interesting the further you go. By the end of the fjord you are surrounded by cliffs and waterfalls. Magnificent! Dress warmly if you want to sit outside for the best views.
