I can’t say enough good things about this hotel. The location is perfect. It is clean and well maintained. It has old charm and comfortable amenities. The food at both breakfast and dinner were more than I expected. The breakfast had everything you could imagine. Thank you

Do yourself a huge favor and book elsewhere. We are extremely disappointed in our stay here. We did a 10 day tour around Norway, and this was by far the worst hotel we stayed at, and also the most expensive. Yes, it is close some attractions, but so are many other hotels. We paid $319 USD for a tiny room with view of a building and other windows behind. Parking is in a garage nearby but with no elevator to access. We had to drag our suitcases up cobblestone ramp to get to the hotel. The breakfast was good, but we received just as high quality meals from hotels that were less than half the price. We had better service at $80 and $100 hotels than here. Furthermore, we happened to stay during the time of a strike. We don’t have any problem with a strike, and fully support workers protesting for their rights. Our issues lie with the hotel management and how this was handled. We were notified of the strike upon arrival, with zero apology. We were informed that we would not received the included dinner, or room service, or the half board. These were the sole reasons we booked this hotel, and it would not have even been considered without these features. We were offered zero compensation, zero room upgrade, no vouchers, nothing. We contacted the hotel multiple times, and finally received a response via email declining any compensation. I was absolutely appalled by the lack of customer service. The included food options are the only reason this hotel is worth what it demands. It is out dated, not remodeled, has zero amenities, poor customer service, and extremely high prices. To claim it as a 4 star hotel is wild in my opinion. Zero loyalty and appreciation for guests.
We stayed here for one night and it happened that there was a hotel strike going on. However, the hotel still did their best to make sure we had a great stay. Our room was upgraded and we had fika upon arrival. There wasn't free dinner, but they still had a wonderful free breakfast with delicious food and lots of selection. The room itself was great and everything was clean and in working condition. It was also located super close to Bryggen, and they had a (paid) parking garage right outside the hotel, 325 NOK overnight. I really appreciate the manager who was there upon arrival who explained the strike situation to us and was very gracious with offers. Despite that, this was still a better stay than many other hotels I've been at.
I could not get a better hotel. Honestly. It's 5 min walk to the port. To old wooden town of Bergen - historic place - 3 min. To the Fløyenbahn 10 min..15 min to train who takes U to the airport. U r in the heart of Bryggen. Rooms - nice, quiet, clean and cosy. Food: fantastic. The service very friendly. If u r smoker - only outside.
We are frequent travellers and my partner tells me that this is the best hotel she has ever stayed in. The food is excellent. Even the vegetarian dinner night. Breakfast are the best ever. Rooms are clean and very comfortable. The small fridge is a nice necessity. Location is excellent. Staff are efficient and friendly. The only suggestion is the lights in the room were a bit complicated and lacking in the bathroom. A tip to get the shower on is to pulll down on the tap spout. Make sure you have a drink in the lobby bar as it is amazing. Yes,we would stay here again.
