Clarion Hotel Admiral

Got the family room and we still considered it small and gloomy. Not a lot of space to put your suitcase but We had a nice view of Bryggen from the window. The rooms were uncomfortably warm despite having the window open all day / night so not the best if you naturally run hot and used to AC running all the time. Their house cleaning practices could be better — We had to ask multiple times for them to come just once over a 3 night stay. However, their breakfast is amazing and so is the staff that work during breakfast. They are so attentive and warm. So many egg options! Homemade egg salad was delish. Basically all you can eat smoked salmon. Every dish has allergen info on it. Overall, good stay though. Thank you!

I'll start with the positives: the view from the hotel room is truly the best you could ask for in Bergen. It is absolutely stunning. The hotel is also in an excellent location, with everything within walking distance. Pretty satisfying breakfast options and friendly kitchen staff. Now for the negatives: During our four-night stay, the room was not cleaned even once. The only thing room attendants did was make the bed—and even that was done rather carelessly. They also emptied the bins, but not even every day. Considering we paid €1,600 for our stay, we expected at the very least that the room would be properly cleaned every day and that basic amenities would be provided, such as disposable slippers, toothpaste, cotton swabs, and other essential toiletries. Unfortunately, none of these were available.

Excellent hotel. I went alone for two nights, waiting for my family to arrive and was so sad to leave and have to join them somewhere else. It is wonderfully situated by the waterfront, with a gorgeous view of Bryggen from the breakfast area and some rooms. You are right in the middle of the most interesting attractions (the cruise, fish market, Fløybanen), in the energy of the city centre but still a quiet place. The ambience is cosy and welcoming, with confortable couches in the entrance hall. The beds are really confortable, and the curtains are very occulting, which is so nice when the sun rises before 5AM! I slept in the first day without a care. The rooms are tastefully decorated without being too charged or beige and impersonal. I paid a really decent price when booking, lower than I expected when I saw the actual hotel in person. I obviously didn’t have a view on the water from the room but it didn’t matter since I felt really good both in the hotel and the reception area. The staff are very kind and helpful. They have a luggage storage room where you can leave your stuff before check in or after check out.

One of the best breakfast and location in Bergen. Right by the water, some rooms have views of the waterfront, very good and trustworthy service and accommodative, provides excellent recommendations. Most attractions are walking distance especially the fish market, bus stop for hop-on hop-off buses and Mt Floyen funicular. Clarion staff are very helpful especially if you forgot something which happened to us, truly appreciate and won’t forget their service.
