Such a stylish and characterful hotel! Love how they converted the old stock exchange building while preserving its historical charm and high-end feel. The breakfast spread was absolutely incredible with so many options. On top of that, the staff were super helpful and seamlessly arranged the luggage forwarding for our Norway in a Nutshell trip. Highly recommended!

Good location. We had a spacious room (got a deluxe) and lovely breakfast mattresses could be replaced though. Customer service was not great. The front desk staff barely look up at you and seem to be bothered by any questions. For the price, the staff should be friendly and welcoming.

Bergen Børs Hotel – Excellent Location, but the Rooms Need Modernization Overall Rating: 7/10 We stayed at Bergen Børs during our visit to Bergen. While the hotel has many appealing features, particularly its location and historic character, the guest rooms could benefit from significant updating. 📍 Location: 10/10 The location is outstanding. The hotel is situated next to the harbor, within easy walking distance of the port, Bryggen, shopping, and many of Bergen’s best restaurants. It is right in the heart of the tourist district yet remains surprisingly quiet. The hotel itself occupies an impressive historic building with soaring ceilings and elegant public spaces that evoke the atmosphere of a grand manor house. 🛏️ Room: 6/10 The bed was comfortable, and the room was clean. The bathroom was a good size, but it lacked shelves or counter space for toiletries. The open shower design allowed water to spread across much of the bathroom floor. Although the hotel is very close to the harbor, only a limited number of rooms appear to have water views. Our room overlooked other rooms, so we kept the curtains closed for privacy. Storage was another disappointment. There was very little shelf or drawer space, and we ended up using the sofa to keep our daily clothing. The lighting was quite dim, and the room lacked USB charging ports and sufficient electrical outlets—features that most modern travelers now expect. 🤝 Service: 10/10 The staff were consistently friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Check-in and check-out were efficient and pleasant. 🍽️ Breakfast: 8/10 The breakfast buffet offered an excellent variety and plenty of choices. Unfortunately, the hot dishes—including the scrambled eggs, bacon, hash browns, and baked beans—were only lukewarm, which detracted from an otherwise enjoyable breakfast. Probably not. Would I Recommend It? Not until the rooms are modernized. Final Thoughts Bergen Børs is a beautiful historic hotel in one of the best locations in Bergen. Its elegant architecture, friendly staff, and excellent fitness center make a strong first impression. However, the guest rooms feel dated and lack several conveniences expected in a four-star hotel today. With thoughtful modernization, this could easily become an exceptional property. In its current state, it feels closer to a good 3½-star hotel than a true four-star experience.

Bergen Børs has a beautiful historic aesthetic, but the actual guest experience underdelivers for a 4-star hotel The room was visually nice but highly impractical. The rooms are quite small, and mine had visible stains on the carpet. For a modern hotel, the lack of outlets by the bed and zero USB ports is a major oversight. Worse, there are no blackout shades, a big issue when it stays bright past 11 PM. The open-concept shower is poorly engineered and gets water all over the bathroom floor. The fitness center is subpar and lacks sufficient equipment. Front desk staff are incredibly slow to answer the phone. We also had logistics issues: the hotel arranged an airport taxi and quoted it at $50 USD, but the final bill was 689 NOK ($74 USD). When I tried calling the hotel to clarify the discrepancy, nobody picked up. The restaurant has severe pacing issues. It took over 90 minutes for our main dishes to arrive after ordering. Not sure if they made a mistake putting in the order, but when we flagged the issue, there was no apology or accountability. To their credit, management took 30% off the bill to make up for it, but it still put a damper on the evening. The building is great, but they need to fix these functional and service-level gaps to justify their rating
