I had a really nice time at Sinharaja Forest! The pickup and communication went smoothly, the tour in the forest was really amazing - the guide even let me bathe in a waterfall! The timing was spot-on, I am very happy with my day.

A very good experience if you’re into your wildlife. I did the 5 hour hike and saw numerous snakes, lizards, giant millipedes, huge spiders etc. To be honest I think 3 hours would have been enough as when we left the river and climbed up the mountain we saw very little except for large impressive trees, many over 800 years old it was explained to me. I would add that you need to be very fit as It involves climbing up very steep rocky, slippery terrain frequently having to hang on with your hands in high humidity, lower down the mountain felt like I was hiking in a sauna! I don’t think my heart rate dropped much below 110 for the whole time we were out! We climbed from 145 feet to over 1890 feet according to my iPhone! Be prepared for leeches, my guide said there wouldn’t be any as it hadn’t rained for awhile, however after 3 hours or so I felt something nipping me on my left leg and looked down to find 4 leeches had attached themselves right through my socks! However, it was easy enough to flick them off. Finally, I have to give a big shout out to my guide - Nishantha. He was as agile as a mountain goat and had the eye sight of an eagle constantly spotting incredibly camouflaged things I would have never seen. I would highly recommend him. He did make me laugh as when we first started out he said that it would be better to get bitten by a venomous snake in the first hour as he had more chance of getting me to a hospital, after an hour ‘not good’ was his dryly delivered comment 🤗
Very interesting tour though I expected to see more wildlife. Saw iguanas, butterflies, snakes and beautiful waterfalls. The guide had knowledge of the rainforest. The driver was very careful and kind and went through small villages which added to the tour as I saw how the life in Sri Lanka is like and passed some breathtaking places. Nevertheless , a bit expensive activity.
It was a very pleasant and comfortable experience. The driver arrived in the morning just as promised to pick me up. He drove me to the Rainforest and the Ranger was already waiting for me, so the tour could start immediately. The tour itself was also very nice (10/10). We saw lots of animals, beautiful plants and my highlight was the swimming in the waterfall. When the tour was over the driver already waited for me outside to drive me home. The van had AC and the driver stopped on the way home to buy me a delicious coconut!🥰
More strenuous than we expected but was it worth it. We saw snakes lizards butterflies millipede s and the waterfalls were breathtaking. Our guide was very knowledgeable and fun to be with..We will definitely be returning next year
I was visiting Sinharaja forest from Induruwa, 1 day tour. The driver was polite, tour guide accompanied me showed me a lot of interesting things in jungle. So the tour was and exciting. Good value for money.
Wow what an experience! This park is teeming with life and I guarantee you will not disappoint. Guide was kind, informative and good company 😃
Great tour and organisation. We truly enjoyed our time on the trip and had a great day in the Sinharaja Rainforest. We got amazing views of the rainforest and sightings of animals including snakes, butterflies, monkeys and peacocks.
Was good, saw lots of small animals such as snakes, lizards and centipedes but no birds as we got there late morning. The misty forest scenery on way up was also beautiful. The only negative was that it poured with rain- we got completely drenched- so a bit of warning from the guide about leaving dry clothes and shoes in car and having an Umbrella or two would have been useful.
Good tour with lots to see! The waterfalls are amazing. Very knowledgeable guide. Good place to go if you like hikes or like exploring for plants and flowers or lizards, frogs and snakes. Sameeri the driver, is nice and is friendly, calls you the day before to confirm everything.
I booked this tour through TA. The driver picked me up at 730am sharp in colombo, drove 3 hrs and met by guide, he took me on bike to entrance and we started the trek. I saw chameleons, millipedes, snakes and spiders, along with 3 waterfalls. I tried to climb the 1st one but slipped, my guide was so gracious and helpful. I also got bit by a leech on my foot, he bandaged the bite.God bless him. You should have some level of fitness to do this trek, its uphill in places. I swam in the 2nd waterfall area. I recommend this one. We then ate lunch at his mothers restaurant which is homecooked sri lankan food. I was told many foreigners decline. They truly are missing out on authentic sri lankan cuisine. I very much recommend this tour/trek
I booked the tour thru Sudhhansa tours. They are very professional in their approach and customised the tour according to my needs. Even they changed the timing of our departure from hotel in Colombo to Sinharaja as per my request. The driver who drove me to the forest was amazing too with a helpful heart. And oh boy, what should I say about the sinharaja forest... It's pristine and a hidden gem in Srilanka. Majestic waterfalls, never seen before flora and fauna and away from all hustles and bustles. Must visit place if you are visiting srilanka.
Virgin forest, amazing waterfalls... Beautiful flora and fauna. Worth visiting. Borders paradise. Enjoyed every bit of it.
A guided walk through the jungle which was a fantastic experience. The guide was so helpful finding jungle creatures for us to see and photograph. The waterfalls are spectacular. We saw fish and crayfish in the rock pools, it was a wonderful day.
Great tour with Sameere. Lots of waterfalls and also some wildlife. The rainforest is very beautiful
Sameera picked us up at our Galle guesthouse at 07:00 in the morning. He neatly drove us for more than two hours into the Sinharaja rainforest. Here we were awaited by our friendly guide named Nishantha who took us on a hiking trip through the forest. He showed us three beautiful waterfalls and we saw many animals, such as spiders, snails, snakes, lizards, butterflies, etc. After the hike Sameera returned us to our accommodation as requested. Thank you both for the nice experience!
This is a mandatory experience to do it complete the other safaris and allows to see the Sri Lanka throught another eye The guide was really cool we shared a good moment with him he was really atentioned and opened to every question we had Even if it was a little bit rainy this day we saw a lot of animals and flowers If you have the time you can swim in a beautiful waterfall lost in the middle of the jungle Best moment in Sri Lanka for me and my brother
We had a really good time. Our tour guide was really patient with us and explained things in detail when. We chose to only hike the rainforest for about 2 hours because it was so humid but the tour could’ve continued for 4-5 hours. We saw giant snails, monkeys, a tarantula, snakes, and even more animals and insects. It was a really good time and we would definitely do it again.
The day in the Sinharaja Rainforest was an absolute adventure. Samira brought us safe and fast to the starting point of the tour with an experienced tour guide there and back. The whole tour through an authentic part of the SInharaja Rainforest took nearly 5 hours as we discovered exotic plants and animals like monkeys, snakes, butterflies, geckos and many more. Because of the ground moisture we unfortunately encoutered many leeches, so get prepared beforehand and pack long socks, sturdy shoes or (even better buy) leech socks, as they try to find their way to your skin (not poisonous but annoying).
The driver Was friendly and helpful took us safely to the rainforest and dropped us back at our hotel
SINHARAJA RAIN FOREST is a prominent ecotourism site in Sri Lanka, as well as a world heritage and bio diversity hotspot. It is one of the world's last remaining virgin woods. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is one of the last remaining virgin rain forests on the planet. The Sinharaja forest reserve, located 120 kilometers south of Colombo and brimming with life, is the island's last pricey stretch of pristine rainforest. Sinharaja is an ecological treasure trove, stretching through the wet zone on the southern end of the hill region at just over 11000 hectares. Its incredible diversity of flora and animals places it among the world's top bio diverse hotspots.
Experience not for everyone but highly recommended! We had the chance to see many animals, the waterfalls are stunning! Punctual and safe driver.
It was an absolutely nice tour through the jungle, past tea fields, rice fields and temples. Our driver Sameera was absolutely reliable and picked us up on time at Hotel Riu Sri Lanka. Thank you
Everything was fine, the driver was punctual and friendly. The car was air conditioned, comfortable and clean. The driver waited for us during our tour to take us back to the hotel afterwards :-)
Rien d’extraordinaire cette balade en forêt si ce n’est la vue imprenable des plantations après 2h de marche.
