The trip was very educational, our guide was friendly and passionate about his country we had a lovely day. The rum tasting was not very good the ladies that helped us abviously did not want to be there that was dissapointing but our guide made the trip special.

Itinerary
Begin your 7-8 hours southwest scenic tour with a hotel pick-up anywhere in Mauritius. You will meet & be greeted by our certified guide and after boarding to your comfortable vehicle, then set off for your first stop. You'll be heading to Trou Aux Cerfs which is one of the famous natural tourist attractions in Mauritius. The dormant volcanic crater is around 605 meters above sea level, with a diameter of 350 meters & a depth of around 100 meters. Unlike the typical volcanic features, Trou aux Cerfs’ crater is surrounded by a vast area of lush forest consisting of indigenous plant species and some giant green pine trees. It is believed that the Trou aux Cerfs erupted once and has remained dormant for the last 700 000 years; experts believe that there is a potential chance for it to become active again. Definitely, one of the main highlights is the 360-degree view of the town, Curepipe & the majestic view of Rempart Mountain, Trois Mamelles, and the Port-Louis- Moka mountain range.
Afterward, head to Mare Aux Vacoas reservoir which has the honor of being the largest reservoir on the island with a capacity of almost 26 million cubic meters and is simultaneously a rather popular stop for tourists visiting the south of the island. Although nothing as fancy as the other attractions in Mauritius, Mare aux Vacoas is a gem hidden between lines of thick forests. It is the perfect place to spend a relaxing few minutes away from the usual hustle and bustle of the country. The reservoir even offers a rather amazing view worth several clicks.
After some time, continue to Ganga Talao (commonly known as Grand Bassin is a crater lake, about 550 meters above sea level, located in the mountainous Southwest of Mauritius. On the shoreline sits a temple along with a collection of small shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva and other gods. During your visit to this sacred site, you will inevitably be awestruck by the gigantic statue of Lord Shiva. However, fear not about your doom, at Grand Bassin you will find the Hindu God Lord Shiva, smiling and as peaceful as ever. The statue is 33 meters high & is the highest known statue in Mauritius. Ganga Talao is a major draw of crowds in Mauritius, with many people visiting the site to pray, meditate, or simply to walk by the lake and enjoy the gorgeous surrounding views. The lake of Ganga Talao is thought to be around 18 meters deep with a healthy population of fish in the lake.
The next stop is Alexandra falls which is Situated some 700m above sea level & is one of the most popular nature sites in Mauritius. You must have definitely seen many of its pictures on postcards or in videos venting the beauty of Mauritius. Alexandra Falls is indeed one of the most emblematic & popular sites of the island. Famous not only for its breathtaking beauty, Alexandra Falls also offers visitors the chance to live a unique experience with nature. Once you are there, do not miss the chance to admire and capture on your camera the panoramic view of the South-East Coast with its turquoise ocean. If you want to take in the full view, you can climb up a wooden platform. On your right is the Alexandra Falls. From where you are, the waterfall looks like a silent white stream cascading over the rocky outcrops. You will also have a plunging look on Mauritius’s virgin green valley which is home to many endemic avian species and flora. You will need nothing more to soothe the eye.
Next, you'll head to Gorge Viewpoint, where you will stop for a stunning panoramic view of the endless green stretches. Amidst the unspoiled rainforest of Mauritius, there are almost 17,000 acres of rolling hills, deep valleys, spectacular waterfalls, and unparalleled beauty of flora and fauna in the southwestern region. You will be amazed to discover how high the viewing area is from the gorge. On the right side of the viewpoint, you can see a breathtaking waterfall. The path leading to the viewpoint has a unique ambiance of its own with some souvenir stalls. The Black River Gorges Nature Reserve was constructed in order to save the natural vegetation of the island and make it one of the most important Mauritian sights. The Black River Gorges National park protects most of the island's remaining rainforest and is home to many species of wild animals and birds.
Next, you'll visit the Twenty- Three colored earth which is a natural phenomenon & a prominent tourist attraction. The colors evolved through the conversion of basaltic lava to clay minerals. An almost surreal, lunar-like spectacle of rainbow-hued sand dunes unfolds before your eyes, leaving you utterly mesmerized. Set in the middle of lush green vegetation, this unique geological oddity is one of those amazing creations of nature that just make you go “Wow”. It is a relatively big area of sand dunes comprising sand of seven distinct colors approximately red, brown, violet, green, blue, purple & yellow. And what is more fascinating is the fact that if you mix the colored earth together, they'll eventually settle into separate layers. You may also be puzzled as the colors might play tricks on you & may appear to be shadows There is also a Tortoise Park & Souvenir Shop offering an array of memorabilia, including local products while the Coffee shop is a happy cafe experience.
After some time, you'll visit undoubtedly the beautiful single-drop waterfall in Mauritius, the Chamouny Waterfall is a striking piece of nature standing amid dense vegetation. The Chamouny falls are definitely the most famous & recognized waterfalls in Mauritius and as such has always been the main attraction for tourists & if you are one, you simply cannot afford to miss the magnificent & “best waterfalls in Mauritius”!
Afterward, you will head to Rhumerie De St Aubin to learn all you need to know about Rum making on paradise island. You will get to enjoy a boozily delicious rum tasting session, discovering the different flavours of rum the distillery manufactures. Highlights of this site: - Enjoy a the warmth and authenticity of the Rhumerie de St Aubin Distillery - Experience a guided visit of the distillery - Enjoy a delicious and boozy rum tasting session - Discover the exclusive Rum making process with sugar cane - Get the opportunity to try the selection of the agricultural Rums produced by the distillery
After a few minutes of driving, we will go through the souillac village where you will be able to see the culture of this magnificent village. The appeal of Gris Gris lies in it scenery, the high cliffs here drop abruptly to the sea and the refreshing winds of the Indian Ocean blow all year round. you will have a great viewpoint on the cliffs and will see the crashing of waves against the flanks. There is a small garden offering many quiet spots for you to relax on one of the many benches, while having a view of the sea, waves and rock cliffs. From the garden, a path leads to a small beach where you can admire the view of the sea up close. Afterward, you'll head to a local restaurant to savor a 3-course Mauritian lunch comprising fresh Salads, Rice, Soups, chicken curry, or fish and vegetables. You will have a choice and the chef will explain to you and ask you about your preferred choice.
Enjoy a beautiful visit of a tea estate and learn while strolling around about the history of the tea industry on the island. You will also discover the art of tea making and get to taste the purely Mauritian tea towards the end of your visit. Nowadays Bois Chéri produces a new range of flavored teas, green teas and herbal teas. You may taste them during your visit. Get ready to be amazed by the richness and freshness of the flavours you are about to taste. The Bois Chéri offers a great panoramic view of the south of the island. Get your camera ready as you would want to take a piece of this marvellous view with you back home. Your south-west full-day scenic tour ends with return transport to your hotel.

Really good excursion which covered the main points of interests in the south-west of the island. We had enough time at all of the sights and our driver Daren was very friendly and informative. Lunch was nice as well. Would definitely recommend.
Guide was friendly, punctual and pleasant. Could have taken the long drives as opportunity to tell us more about Mauritius. Could do with more information. Understand drive was long but was too rushed from spot to spot. Poor value for money. Volcano stop and 23 coloured earth was disappointing. Most disappointing and low point was the terrible lunch. For the cost of excursion, lunch was the biggest disappointment.
We had a private tour which was unexpected but a lot better. Yash the driver was very informative. Even the weather (rain) didn’t dampen our spirits
Starting with Kavi, our tour guide - He was knowledgable, very friendly and the bits of the tour where he guided us, and during the car journey to the various places, these were fantastic! The secondary experiences of the tour were what let us down. 1. The tea tasting - We were only showed how to brew a cuppa, but no time was spent by people at the tea factory to talk through the teas, different types, about the tea estate, and it was just left for us to do this ourselves. It was a more 'pour your own tea experience' 2. The Rum tasting - Again the staff at the Rum factory did not talk through the history of the estate. It was more of a which rum would you like to taste - here you go, type of experience, akin to ordering shots at the bar 3. The Coloured Earth - This was the biggest let down for us. From the description on Viator, it states entry is included to see this at Vall-e Park. We felt this was misleading. To actually see the coloured earth here, it's either a 2 hour walk from the entrance which is free, or you have to take a buggy or quadbike to see it which ranges from around £60 GBP to £100 GBP on top of the tour price. Given this activity was pre lunch, at it was already past 12:30pm, we opted to miss this, as we're getting hungry by this point and went straight to lunch instead. I think in general the tour is overpriced, but having looked at all options prior to booking, this was on the cheaper end, but overall disappointed.
Great excursions. We got a package, driving around the park on a quad bike which was really fun.
A great experience and tour with Daren. Reliable and felt at ease at all times visiting all the different attractions.
*Mauritius: Paradise Perfected My impregnable yearning to explore the long-cherished elusive destination kept bubbling up from the meandering morass of indecisive procrastination till I, along with my spouse, zeroed in on this coruscating gem in the Indian Ocean -- Mauritius. For years, the allure of this island paradise tantalised my senses, fueling an unrelenting dream to escape to its shores and surrender to its serene beauty. The allure of Mauritius' pristine beaches, lush forests, and enchanting ambience has captivated my soul, making it an irresistible rhapsodic destination. Father of American literature, Mark Twain, famously said: “Mauritius was made first, and then heaven. And heaven was copied after Mauritius.” When I first set eyes on this far-flung island in the Indian Ocean, I immediately agreed that it is heaven on earth! Mauritius, the celestial archipelago, unfurls its majestic splendor like a tapestry of turquoise and emerald, intricately woven by the divine hands of nature. Here the time stands still, and the soul finds solace in the embrace of nature's splendor, where every moment is a testament to the magic that awaits in this tropical paradise. As we step into Anelia Resort, our ephemeral abode for seven days, we were enveloped in a tranquil oasis that seamlessly blends luxurious elegance with rapture-inducing tropical charm. The spacious lobby boasts soaring ceilings, adorned with intricate wooden carvings and majestic chandeliers that refract warm golden light. Plush furnishings in soothing hues of cream and beige invite relaxation, while vibrant artwork and lush greenery inject pops of colour and vitality. Each room at the resort is a serene retreat, thoughtfully designed to harmonise modern comfort with island inspiration. Walls adorned with soft, creamy hues and accented with warm wood tones create a cozy ambiance. Plush beds, draped in crisp linens and adorned with vibrant tropical prints, beckon restful slumber. Private balconies or patios offer breathtaking views of the turquoise ocean, lush gardens and sparkling pool. This enchanting island nation beckons travelers to indulge in its mesmerising landscapes, vibrant culture, and warm hospitality. As the warm golden sand whispers secrets to the shore, the majestic beach surroundings of Anelia Resort unfold like a canvas of serenity. Nature's masterpiece, crafted with precision and passion, beckons to surrender to its allure. Swaying palm trees, adorned with emerald leaves, stand sentinel along the shoreline, their gentle rustle a soothing serenade. While admiring this stupendous scenic resplendence, one tends to get immersed into the cornucopia of joie de vivre! As the day succumbs to dusk concurrent to the sun down, the sky transforms into a kaleidoscope of warm incandescent hues – a breathtaking sunset spectacle! From the welcoming smiles to the solicitous gestures, every interaction was a testament to the resort's commitment to excellence. Anelia Resort has truly exceeded our expectations, providing a luxurious and memorable experience. The culinary team's creativity and attention to detail impressed us to the hilt, with each dish showcasing the perfect blend of flavours and presentation. The variety of continental and local cuisine catered to our tastes. Blessed by Epicurus, we indulged our senses in a gastronomic journey where culinary mastery meets tropical bliss. Beachside alfresco dining offers fresh seafood, impeccably prepared to highlight the day's catch. Lip-smacking grilled fish infused with herbs was visually stunning and delectable to savour.
The driver was very kind. He gave us extra time at Valle Adventure Park so I could try the zipline.
We had a really enjoyable all-day trip, and a big part of that was thanks to our guide, Radhika. She was friendly, engaging, and brought a great sense of fun to the day. Her energy and knowledge made each stop more interesting, and she created a relaxed and positive atmosphere throughout. That said, the overall itinerary felt quite rushed. There were simply too many activities packed into the day, which made it difficult to fully enjoy each location. When we added up the suggested time at each stop, it came to the full 8 hours we had with the guide, without accounting for travel time between locations. This made the schedule feel unrealistic and a bit pressured. We would strongly suggest that the agency consider reducing the number of activities so that guests can spend more meaningful, relaxed time at each place. Factoring in travel time would make the experience far more enjoyable and less rushed. Overall, a fun day with a fantastic guide, but the itinerary would benefit from a more balanced and realistic schedule.
We had an all-day tour with our guide, Radhika, and I want to start by saying that she was absolutely great! She was friendly, fun and knowledgeable, and did her best to keep everything organized and enjoyable throughout the day. However, we felt that the overall itinerary of the tour was not very realistic for the amount of time available. There were simply too many stops planned, which made the experience feel rushed. Because of this, we didn’t have enough time to properly enjoy the views or fully explore the different locations. We would suggest reconsidering the number of attractions included in the tour. Fewer stops would allow for a more relaxed pace and a much more enjoyable experience overall. Thank you again to Radhika for her effort and professionalism. She truly made the best of a very tight schedule.
We were disappointed with the content of the tour. - The visit to the tea plantation. We were seated at a table to try tea, which we had to do ourselves. No one explained the plantation/tea production process, even though the tour website lists this as an activity. -a driver who as soon as possible wanted to go a sleep, while waiting for us/stopped at a liquor store. We had to wake him twice up when we came back - Adventure park. To reach the colored stones and the waterfalls, we were strongly urged to rent a quad bike/buggy for at least 50 euros. We were told it would be at least an hour and a half of walking through the park. I have a bad knee, and we considered doing this. We found this very odd, considering your tour was supposed to be all-inclusive. These costs aren't listed anywhere on Tripadvisor. In the end, we walked anyway, and it turned out to be only 45 minutes (with rest stops). Such additional costs should be listed on the website. - Rum tasting. It's essentially the same story as the tea plantation. We were supposed to get a full tour and an explanation of the distillation process. Instead, we ended up standing at a bar like teenagers taking shots of rum without any further explanation. Questions weren't answered, and within five minutes we were out. The price of the tour is disproportionate to the actual content of the tour. Much to expensive. We wrote a complaint about this and received no reaction
Enjoyed a day out visiting the south of Mauritius, which included trip to see the coloured sands of Chamarel and the giant tortoises, the Grand Bassin lake and Hindu temple and statues and the Trou aux Cerfs crater at Curepipe. Also visited Black River Gorges and Alexandra Falls viewpoint.
I had a free day and decided to book a solo meal at the Harvester Borderer restaurant in Newport Gwent. I have their app, which offered me 40%off my main course. The waitress Clare was very attentive and welcoming, ushered me to my table soon after I arrived and provided the menus and drinks order. I had a rump steak (well done) with baked potato, mushroom, onion rings and a side of half a rack of glazed spare ribs. The included salad buffet had a wonderful selection of fresh salad items. Soon after I had finished my salad, my main course was ready and was cooked to perfection. I went up and complimented the chef. I finished with the special mini dessert and latte coffee choosing the sundae as my mini dessert. I was delighted with my experience and feel cheered up during another wet drab February day.
My partner and I had the most amazing day exploring the tropical south-west of Mauritius on this full-day all-inclusive tour. From the moment we set off, everything felt effortless and relaxing. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking – lush green mountains, dramatic coastlines, hidden waterfalls, and pristine beaches that felt like our own private paradise. We spent the day visiting stunning viewpoints, walking through nature trails, and even enjoying some quiet moments by the water. The guides were warm, friendly, and full of interesting stories about the island, which made the experience feel personal and special. The all-inclusive meals and drinks were a nice touch – we loved trying the local food and sipping fresh juice while taking in the views. Being there as a couple made it even more magical. We laughed, took photos together, and simply enjoyed each other’s company surrounded by Mauritius’s natural beauty. The pace of the tour was perfect – enough adventure, but also plenty of time to just relax and soak in the moment. By the end of the day, we felt refreshed, happy, and full of unforgettable memories. I would highly recommend this tour to any couple looking for a mix of romance, adventure, and the stunning sights of Mauritius. It truly felt like a day made just for us.
Starting with the positives, Mauritius is beautiful and the sights seen were wonderful. I think we were unlucky with our 'guide'. Lets be clear, our guide was a driver, not a guide - we were simply taken to places with some pleasant chat - zero information shared. the driver brought a friend along for a few hours who did some of the driving (while our driver was on a motorbike) and did not appear to know where she was supposed to be going, twice we had to turn around. We were taken to the tea museum too early in the morning so we could not have the factory tour (so the driver got to keep that portion of the entry ticket cost). we got no water (that should have been included). lunch was not until 3pm due to the order of travel (which is very late considering tour started at 8.30am) and we didn't get to see Gris Gris beach as we would not have had time for the Rum tasting, as it was we had literally 10 mins at the Rum place and it was a poor experience. We did not take longer than planned at any of the places and there was no heavy traffic other than a few mins delay at the temple so unclear how we were supposed to get all the sights in the allocated time. Given we didnt get the tea factory tour, Rum was 10 mins (ie no tour) and we didnt see the famous beach, there is no way there was sufficient time for the items on the itinerary. The individual items (apart from Rum) were good but overall, not worth the money and the driver getting paid for things that didnt happen (tea factory tour, water) means i cannot recommend this trip.
Great way to see the whole island. And experience all that Mauritius has. Darin accommodated the way you would like to have it flow when it was possible.
A full day with lots of experiences. Our driver was very knowledgeable about the area. The included lunch was delicious with choices. The coloured earth looked more colourful on the picture on the internet than in real life but this did not detract from the overall tour. The visit to the tea and rum tours were very good. Plenty of tea to try with no hard sell. Don’t get too drunk tasting the many varieties of rum!!!
We had a great trip around the south-west of Mauritius with our driver Radhika. We managed to fit in a full day of activities without ever feeling too rushed. Radhika made us feel safe and reassured that we were in for an exciting day. Radhika was knowledgeable about the area and knew all the best spots to see such as the Valle Adventure Park (an adrenaline filled day of fun), St Aubin Rum Distillery (which featured an amazing rum tasting) and the Black River Gorges National Park (which featured one of the most stunning views we had ever seen in our lives). Radhika also took the time to tell us quite a bit about Mauritian customs and culture which helped give depth to this beautiful place. Overall, this was a great tour and a must do for anyone travelling to Mauritius and it wouldn’t have been possible without the expertise and kindness of our driver and tour guide Radhika.
Kevin was a great guide, met us at our hotel in his immaculately presented car for our whistle stop tour of the South of the island, Kevin was articulate, knowledgeable and very willing to share his obvious depth of knowledge of the beautiful Mauritius. Would highly recommended the tour but make sure you understand the walking involved at the 23 sands and the array of adventuring options that are available at the location and dress and prepare accordingly before booking. Thanks Kevin for a great snapshot of your beautiful country.
This was an awesome an insightful tour - especially with our tour guide Manav. We went the extra mile with detailed explanations and excellent photography skills
I had lunch at Dick Hudson's on Saturday the 10th January. Very pleased with all the excellent staff, the service and my delicious meal. Served by Jess.
Mevin, our guide was superb. Great guide and a great driver. We had an excellent day. Very informative.
The day before our tour was scheduled the company cancelled. The excuse was bad weather and concern for our safety. We could find no forecasted bad weather and the weather that day was hot and sunny.
Even though the description says that the driver is also a guide, our driver was not. He rarly talked, and when we finally asked questions his answers were short, and often he had no answer. As a driver however we was nice and on time and the car was great. Secondly almost half the destinations were closed due to earlier rainfall. We did not find out about this until we were in the car. The organizers did not provide any options for the closed activities either. Lastly the lunch place (Escale des îles) had the slowest service I have ever encountered. This is the restaurants fault, but I thought I should mention it, because we sat for almost 2 hours in the most humid restaurant on earth
David was a great driver and tour guide - Knowledgable, friendly, organised and easy going! The tea tasting was a highlight!
FYI--know your itinerary and make your guide stick to it. This was a private tour and the guide said we were in charge but it was clearly the other way around. We should have been weary when the guide asked US what tour we were on. He immediately said there was no time for the 3-course lunch part of the tour and he said his boss said he had to be back by 3 and we had to allow 1.5 hours to get back to the ship from the last location. The trip started at 8:30 so we had plenty of time to do the 8-hours tour and be back to the ship by 5 pm. We were returned at 2 pm and the driver seemed rushed at that. He did drive safely though. This is what we did get: Tea at a tea plantation View of Shiba This is what we didn't get 2 of the national parks Colored sands Multiple waterfalls Rum tasting in the proper place INSTEAD after the Shiba he brought us to Vale Adventure Park (not a national park) which was an additional cost of $150 and 2 hours which surprised us because we were at least 40-50 years older than all the other tourists (not a natural fit nor did we request this). We ended up at a small neighborhood souvenir shop which also had some rum. He mentioned at the beginning that "if we had time at the end" we could go to a souvenir shop. We said we weren't interested in more souvenirs but that's where he brought us. We've done many tours around the world with TripAdvisor and this was the only one that disappointed us.
Driver was 20 minutes late. Didn't know the Rumery was closed after 2pm, due to a wedding. Just did the tasting. Never got to see the Tea Plantation Museum, Just the tea tasting again . Never stopped to take pictures at the temple. we were just rushed from one place to another. Could have been a really nice tour, but the driver has lot to learn to make it an enjoyable tour
Our driver was on time and a careful driver. We were told all the stops we would visit and told about any interesting points. We would have liked the tour to be more flexible as to what we saw as it did feel a little as though the schedule was mapped out and no deviation. We did though cover an awful lot and saw all the sights there were to see. The driver was pleasant and knowledgeable.
Great day. Our guide Manav was very knowledgeable. He adapted the day to our style and liking. We had loads of fun. We saw amazing views and he took great pictures of us in front of them. Would 100% recommend!
Excellent trip. Highly recommend. We saw everything we wanted to see and the guide was lovely, very knowledgeable and accommodating.
This was a great tour. The tour guide was absolutely amazing. Would definitely recommend this to family and friends.
Good informative guide. Again, is lunch necessary? I know it supports local restaurants but wastes usually an hour and a half in my view.
It’s a interesting trip. However they drag it out you could do it in half the time . They Resturant you go to for lunch is fantastic with amazing views. 7 colours of the earth is interesting. Early start for this trip.
We had such a great time on this tour with Manav, our driver/tour guide! He was super friendly and informative and he built our tour schedule around our priorities. Mauritius is so beautiful and we’re so glad that we got to see so much of it. He took us to Vallé Advenature Park where we did a quad tour and 7 zip lines (separately charged), which was beautiful and exciting. Other than the zip lining, we especially enjoyed the rhum tasting and the super tasty Mauritian lunch. Lastly, we really appreciate that at the request of my husband, he took us to a vanilla plantation where we got a short tour and bought a bunch of vanilla to take home. We highly recommend this excursion!
Great value for money, especially if you ar staying in the north of the island. Alone the drive and tickets pay off. Daren was a great driver and guide. He explained eveything well but also let us in peace if he notices that we are tired or want to enjoy the drive. The Black river national park is really stunning. We loved Casela as well (we booked the double quad drive but they didn't let me drive it, and also refused to give a refund, so that wasn't the best customer service). Tea tasting was so fun, great view on the tea plantage. Rhumerie was a short visit since we don't drink alcohol. Gris Gris beach was amazing, the view is brath-taking. The lunch was good, very fast service, we didn't have to wait at all. All in all, we would totally recommend. We were done at 16:00 which is perfect since we could still chill at the pool in hotel after the tour.
We did the trip with Radhika and we loved it so much! She is such a great guide and told us a lot about Mauritius and the culture. If we will visit Mauritius again we would love to do another trip with her. She was so friendly and drove really safe - we feel very well with her
We booked via Trip advisor and were pleased either communication form the company and our private driver Agi. Our driver was calm, quiet but respectful and knowledgeable. We started off driving through the sugar cane and vegetables fields and made our way tot he Grand Bassin. We stopped off at the largest man made reservoir in the South. Agi explained that the natuonal park and reservoirs were protected and maintained. We then made our way to the large statues of Lord Shiva and Durgha. We popped to see the sacred lake and temple nearby. Just a very short drive away was a dormant volcanic lake. Surreal, beautiful but not smelly as the sulphur and minerals had long since been deposited on the bed of the lake. After a short drive we visited Bois Cheri tea plantation. Truly fascinating and a wonderful vista of the workers picking the leaves from the bushes. The small museum was informative and gave a brief history of the plantation and thr tea making process. We enjoyed the tea tasting at the lodge overlooking the lake and tried about 12 different flavoured teas in total. Our favourites were the caramel and the coconut flavoured tea produced at the plantation. After our tea break we visited the Alexandra falls and gorgeous paper like Portuguese trees. You had a great viewpoint to these at the South of the island. Next we travelled to see the 7 coloured earth's and the giant tortoises. At he adventure park you can zipline or hire quad bikes. (We opted for the quad biking, which was fun An added cost though). Throughout the park you could see the monda of the different coloured earth's due to the volcanic minerals deposited. There were beautiful waterfalls and views along the adventure trail. We also stopped to see the giant tortoises, who are quite shy. We made our way to a southerly point with a beautiful sandy cove and cliffs. We were booked into the local restaurant snd enjoyed our 3 courses, including our first ice cream on the island. After lunch we made our way to Saint Aubin rum distillery. Wow so many flavours and ages of rum. Of course a tasting session was required but be warned there are some 50% alcohol rums that nearly blew my block off. They also provided liquers and gins to taste. The colonial tasting restaurant and surrounding shop are beautiful. We bought a bottle of spiced rum. Unfortunately we then made our way back through the valleys and small towns back to our hotel. A thoroughly enjoyable trip that packs a lot in. Well worth the value and cost. Thank you for wonderful memories.
Radhika our guide & tour operator was absolutely amazing. She was professional, friendly, attentive, an excellent driver & her knowledge about the island was superb! We honestly enjoyed every moment. She really listened to what we wanted & went the extra mile to deliver to our needs. We will ALWAYS remember our trip and it's all because of Radhika! Thank you Radhika!
Very enjoyable trip that gave us a whistle-stop tour of some wonderful sites, would thoroughly recommend as a must do. one area for improvement could be the driver/guide. He was not always as attentive as I would expect and spent quite a bit of time on his phone. Also trip to the beautifully located rum distillary was disappointing - very little information or attention from in-house staff and should have been much better. other than the above there were many highlights
We had a day full of beautiful nature, cultural highlights, learnt about vanilla, tea and rum, and had a lovely lunch in a local restaurant. Manu our driver and guide was very knowledgeable and helpful. He shared his knowledge of Mauritius and showed us some beautiful spots. We also had a tea tasting and rum tasting which were great. Thank you Manu for a fantastic day. Duncan and Debbie.
Daren was a lovely informative driver. The tour he planned was very well considered and he took his time to explain everything about each stop. We made excellent timing and it made for a memorable excursion.
We had a nice day trip visiting the south of the island of Mauritius. The weather was against us with persistent rain, but our guide Hasheem was well prepared with umbrellas and close parking spots near to sights. We had a tea tasting and plantation visits, and a similar experience at a rum distillery. We visited a Hindu temple and a dormant volcano. This was a full day. The driver was punctual in a clean car and he drove safely. Our only criticism is his English wasn’t great considering we specified an English speaking tour, and at the end of the tour our car broke down. Hasheem handled the situation well and after a phone call his colleague Manev was able to take us back to our hotel. This was a good day trip.
We loved the Trip with Radhika. She was such a friendly guid and a really good Driver, we feel Safe all the time. She showed us beautiful Spots and whether the weather was Not so nice we had a beautiful time and she made beautiful pictures for us
At first I was sceptical, as I heard nothing from the host. After a few times of trying to communicate from my side and getting no response, I got really worried. But then I had the hotel call the number. Everything was sorted and ready for action. Our guide Darren, was absolutely amazing! Told us many stories about Maurice and took us to each and every one of the sites. We did it all in record time. And when we asked to stop at a supermarket on the way back just to get some snacks, he had no issues. I would definitely recommend this again.
We had a great guide named Jeev. He could tell us al lot about the island and every stop we visited. How he explained things made our day great. We had a lot of fun. He told us historical facts and fun facts that made our day. With him as our guide we got to experience the local hospitality at it finest.
Excellent day trip, I would highly recommend for anyone looking to explore the island. Kevin was friendly, accommodating, and highly knowledgeable. Good communication via WhatsApp in advance.
Anil was fantastic. He was on time and happily shared information about Mauritius all day. We asked lots of questions and he knew everything and shared his knowledge. It was a pleasure to spend the day with him. He stopped for as long as we wanted at each place, there was no rush to move on. We highly recommend this trip with Anil. We had some good laughs, and shared our stories all day. I wish we could book him for every tour. He advised us how to make the most of the rest of our trip. Thank Anil! It was great to meet you and spend the day with you.
Brilliant trip with a very knowledgeable guide. Weather wasn’t the greatest but we still got to see very view point and made it to every stop. Lots of time to explore and the lunch was great!
Great experience and adventure. All but thanks to our driver Kishore. He was very informative and caring. He knows everything about the island on his finger tips. We highly recommend this tour.
