I recently stayed at Anahita Mauritius in a Junior Suite Garden View. The resort has a beautiful location and some positive aspects, but unfortunately my overall experience was disappointing. The hotel facilities were good, and the shuttle service to the beach shared with neighboring resorts was convenient. Breakfast offered a decent selection of food. However, there were several concerns. During breakfast, staff often approached guests to clear tables before even offering tea or coffee, despite there being no self-service coffee machines available. More concerning was the cleanliness of the breakfast area. Ants were present on the tables, and when I asked staff to wipe my table, I was told that all tables were the same. Ants were walking on plates and cutlery, which was unacceptable. The suite itself was spacious and equipped with two air-conditioning units and a ceiling fan. The bathroom, toilet, and shower facilities were good. Unfortunately, the in-room crockery was not. The teapots contained brown residue and the kettle had visible mold. I shared photos of these issues with reception. The biggest disappointment was the constant construction noise. After a long flight, I arrived hoping to rest in what appeared to be a peaceful and tranquil resort. Instead, drilling and metal-cutting work began shortly after I entered my room. The noise continued from approximately 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM. Assuming it was a one-time maintenance activity, I tried to overlook it. However, the exact same situation occurred the following day. When I contacted reception, I was told they would investigate and call me back. I eventually received a response around 1:00 PM informing me that the work would continue until 3:00 PM. I requested a room change due to the ongoing disturbance, but initially the request was declined. There was no apology, compensation, or meaningful acknowledgment of the inconvenience caused. Only after repeatedly insisting and waiting almost two hours was I finally moved to another suite. Unfortunately, the new room had the same cleanliness issues with the kettle and tea-making equipment. Another concern involved the snorkeling activities. The hotel advertised a snorkeling trip for MUR 700 per person, but on both days guests were told that weather conditions did not allow the activity to proceed. Strangely, when I inquired about a private snorkeling trip costing MUR 12,000 per hour, I was informed that this could still be arranged despite the supposedly unsuitable weather conditions. When I raised this contradiction with reception, they acknowledged that something seemed wrong. However, I later discovered that a member of the reception team was actively promoting third-party excursions. I was offered a non-private Île aux Cerfs excursion for MUR 30,000, supposedly including drinks and snacks. While discussing this at reception, two other guests arrived visibly upset, claiming that no drinks or snacks had been provided on their tour and that they were required to walk a considerable distance to reach the waterfall. I decided to research alternatives independently and booked with Crystal Cruise instead. For MUR 6,500 for three people, we received a full Île aux Cerfs tour including a BBQ lunch, unlimited drinks, and a boat trip that stopped directly beneath the waterfall. The experience was excellent and represented far better value. To the hotel owner and management: I hope this review is taken constructively. Anahita has an outstanding location and strong potential, but issues relating to cleanliness, guest comfort, construction noise, and the promotion of questionable third-party excursions significantly impacted our stay. It is unfortunate to see the reputation of such a beautiful property affected by problems that could be addressed with better management and attention to guest experience. Photos and videos documenting these issues are available.

The resort itself is beautiful and the location is stunning, which makes the overall experience even more frustrating. Unfortunately, the service was consistently poor, with several staff members coming across as unprofessional. For a resort that markets itself as a premium destination, the level of hospitality was simply unacceptable. And it is overrated. For the people who want Golf this is the right destination. The “all inclusive” package was also extremely misleading, as very little was actually included and many items required additional payment. Guests should know exactly what they are paying for, and this did not feel like a true all-inclusive experience. What was particularly disappointing was the handling of our request to have adjacent suites request. Staff repeatedly gave vague answers, took an unreasonable amount of time to respond, and seemed more interested in avoiding the question than helping us. A simple request turned into a frustrating process with little communication and no real assistance. There were also serious hygiene and safety concerns. Stray cats and dogs were roaming throughout the resort, and when we raised the issue, staff informed us that some of the dogs could in fact be wild and potentially harmful. Ants were frequently crawling across dining tables, and birds were openly eating from the buffet, raising obvious concerns about cleanliness and food hygiene. It is disappointing because the property itself is genuinely beautiful, but beautiful scenery cannot compensate for poor service, questionable hygiene standards, and a lack of concern for guest comfort and safety. Management should address these issues urgently.
This is the absolute worst ‘resort’ I have ever stayed at. The reception people are absolutely useless. The buffet dinner incredibly overpriced 60 euros per person. The ‘special themed’ dinner 90 euros per person, that is insanely overpriced! Drinks - a glass of a 10 euro bottle of French prosecco is 12 euro for 1 glass! Cocktails are stupidly expensive and have zero alcohol in them. Wifi doesn’t work. There are wifi codes to scan around the place and the people at reception say it doesn’t work. There are ants everywhere, in your food and your drinks. In order to get a pool towel you have to pay a deposit of 20 euros but in rupees. What am I going to do with the cash when we leave? I’m not about to steal a pool towel and take it home with me. This place is no where near a 5 star it’s more 1 star or 0 star.
Luxury, privacy, and service done right. The Bay Club at Anahita feels brand new after the upgrades and rebranding — everything is refined, modern, and elevated. Staff were wonderful, rooms were gorgeous, and the private Île aux Cerfs beach access alone makes it worth it. Also… there are definitely 2 restaurants there that absolutely carry the food scene 😂
Absolutely amazing place to unwind and relax. If you are seeking peace of mind, calm yet enjoy all the activities you like (tennis, padel, cycling…) this is the place to be Very short distance, max 10 minutes by boat shuttle, from Ile aux Cerfs, with included boat trips, private place and restaurant at the island for Anahita…The suites are very well kept, very clean, modern and cosy. Kitchen is very well equipped and basic amenities filled on a daily basis. The weather in May is perfect. The main restaurant had very nice food, loved the selection. Mr Soon and Mr Arvind were simply amazing to us. They made sure we had the best service at table. Thank you so much. 🙏 I loved the seating space under the tree, where you can read and chill with tea/coffee and cakes with nice background music. In short, luxury hospitality and privacy at its best. For sporties like me, Rm club is present there, so you can benefit from your RM membership. I will definitely come again.
