troy was an absolute delight as a tour guide. he was really knowledgeable so we got to learn about the history in the area and his sense of humor was off the charts. He was also the best driver that we've had. I really enjoyed driving along the coast to see some of the gorgeous views instead of going on the motorway. the sights were fantastic, and we even had a live performance on the bus.

Itinerary
Your adventure begins at Carrickfergus Castle, one of the most impressive and best-preserved medieval castles in Ireland. Built in 1177, this formidable fortress has withstood sieges and battles from the Scots, Irish, English, and French for over 800 years. Stroll along the ancient stone walls and battlements, and take in sweeping views across the harbor. Don’t miss the striking statue of King William III, commemorating his historic landing here in 1690. You can choose to explore inside the castle (entry optional) to uncover its fascinating past, or simply wander the scenic grounds, capturing postcard-perfect photos and perhaps enjoying a coffee break before the next leg of your journey.
Sit back and soak up the beauty of the legendary Antrim Coast. Enjoy a scenic coastal drive through some of Northern Ireland’s most spectacular landscapes. Pass through charming seaside villages like Ballygally, where colorful cottages and quiet shores capture the essence of coastal life. Marvel at the towering cliffs, golden beaches, and panoramic Atlantic views that make this route one of the most breathtaking in the world — a perfect opportunity for stunning photos and peaceful moments along the way.
Gaze upon the elegance of Glenarm Castle – where history meets breathtaking coastal scenery. As the journey continues along the Antrim Coast, enjoy sweeping views of Glenarm Castle, one of Northern Ireland’s most storied estates. Set amid rolling green hills and overlooking Glenarm Bay, this 17th-century castle remains one of Ireland’s oldest continuously inhabited homes. This drive-by stop perfectly blends heritage and natural beauty, with the castle’s graceful architecture framed by the unspoiled coastal landscape — an ideal spot for photos and a moment to take in the timeless charm of the Antrim shoreline.
Discover the charm of Carnlough Harbour – where coastal beauty meets television fame. Journey through the picturesque fishing village of Carnlough, nestled along the breathtaking Antrim Coast. Fans of Game of Thrones may recognize this quaint harbor from Season 6, where Arya Stark makes her daring escape — bringing a touch of fantasy to this real-world gem. Beyond its screen stardom, Carnlough Harbour delights with its colorful fishing boats, historic stone buildings, and rugged shoreline views. It’s the perfect place to pause for photos, breathe in the fresh sea air, and soak up the peaceful charm of Northern Ireland’s coast.
Experience the magic of the Glens of Antrim – nine valleys of storybook beauty. Travel through the Glens of Antrim, a breathtaking series of nine lush valleys that sweep from the rugged Antrim Plateau down to the sparkling coastline. Each glen tells its own tale, rich with local legend, charm, and natural wonder. As you wind through this enchanting landscape, take in rolling green hills, cascading streams, and panoramic coastal views that make this region one of Northern Ireland’s most iconic and scenic treasures. Don’t forget your camera — every turn reveals another picture-perfect moment along this unforgettable stretch of the Antrim Coast.
Marvel at the dramatic Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge viewpoint. Pause at the iconic Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge viewpoint, perched above the 75-foot chasm separating the mainland from Carrick Island. While this tour does not include crossing the bridge, the viewpoint alone offers stunning panoramas of jagged cliffs, turquoise Atlantic waters, and the rugged coastline. It’s an ideal stop for photos, soaking in the fresh sea air, and taking a moment to appreciate the raw, dramatic beauty of Northern Ireland’s coast.
Step into the enchanting Dark Hedges – a natural wonder with a touch of TV magic. Visit the Dark Hedges, a dramatic avenue of 300-year-old beech trees that fans of Game of Thrones will instantly recognize as the Kingsroad, where Arya Stark made her daring escape. Even beyond its on-screen fame, this leafy tunnel offers a magical, almost otherworldly atmosphere, perfect for stunning photos and peaceful strolls. After exploring, pause for a delicious lunch at the nearby Hedges Hotel, where great food meets spectacular scenery. Recharge and savor the views before continuing your journey along the breathtaking Antrim Coast.
Catch a glimpse of the world-famous Old Bushmills Distillery. Drive past Old Bushmills Distillery, Ireland’s oldest working whiskey distillery, crafting premium whiskey since 1608. While this tour does not include a distillery visit, you’ll have the chance to admire this iconic landmark, learn about its fascinating history, and capture photos of the historic buildings set against the stunning Antrim Coast scenery.
Explore the dramatic Dunluce Castle – a cliffside medieval masterpiece. Stop at Dunluce Castle, perched precariously on a cliff overlooking the North Atlantic Ocean. Fans of Game of Thrones will recognize it as the House of Greyjoy, while all visitors can appreciate its rich history, legend, and breathtaking coastal vistas. Guests can choose to explore the castle ruins or simply admire them from the outside. Either way, this stop offers a spectacular backdrop for photos and a chance to experience one of Northern Ireland’s most iconic landmarks.
End your journey at the breathtaking Giant’s Causeway – a natural wonder like no other. Arrive at the Giant’s Causeway, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Northern Ireland’s most iconic landmarks. Marvel at 40,000 interlocking basalt columns, formed by ancient volcanic activity, and hear the legend of Finn McCool, the mythical giant said to have created this extraordinary landscape. With free admission, you’ll have plenty of time to walk among the columns, capture unforgettable photos, and soak in the dramatic coastal scenery. This unforgettable stop is truly the highlight of the tour and a must-see for every visitor to Northern Ireland.

Don’t miss this opportunity to experience all the isles have to offer. It is a chance to get in touch with the heart of the people and the places you visit
The trip was mostly great. But like another trip I took (different company), the driver had to make sure we all knew his political stance. Especially regarding gas prices and Trump. At least three or four times, he had to drop a Trump joke. I didn't come all the way to Ireland, pay for these trips, just to listen to a bus driver's political opinions.
The driver Stuart made the trip for us, he has excellent customer service and really makes you feel welcome. He has great knowledge of the surroundings and gives an excellent narration whilst driving. His driving was safe and the coach was very comfortable. The tour itself is very long but has sufficient breaks, and the attractions are well worth a visit. Great value for money. The scenery is worth the money alone.
Troy was entertaining and full of interesting facts . He really cared about making everyone enjoy the experience
Very good value for money. Leza and David were a brilliant pair and kept us at ease and engaged throughout the trip.. From leaving Belfast Lisa kept us informed with her strong narrative.
Well worth the money. Stopped off at castles, lots of Game of Thrones and local info thrown in. Make sure you have comfy shoes on!
We had the option to visit 2 small castles on the way to the Giants causeway. Our driver Stuart was very informative and funny. He certainly knew his stuff. It was definitely worth the money, I had a really enjoyable day even though it was raining!
My daughters and I decided to go on a tour – this was our third time – but this time we were in for some very unpleasant surprises! The stop at Danlus Castle. There is an admission charge for this, which isn’t mentioned in the tour terms and conditions. Lunch at the Dark Hedges restaurant was nothing short of a rip-off. You can only order a huge portion for one person, but it’s far too much and far too expensive; they won’t let you share it. There were three of us, and when we asked for extra cutlery, we were refused – which shows a complete lack of respect for tourists! What’s more, the seats on the coach were wet after the rain!!!! There was simply no stop at Bushmills!!!! I have no complaints about the coach driver, but I will never use this tour operator’s services again. A rating of one out of ten and a complete disappointment.
This was an amazing tour for a very low price. Troy was an incredible guide and overall it was just a great time. Enough time to get out and enjoy the stops without getting bored. Allows you to see a lot in a day if you’re only in Belfast for a short time and/or don’t rent a vehicle. Highly recommend!
A truly brilliant day! Would highly recommend for anyone visiting Belfast and wanting to see more than just the city. Troy was brilliant. Knowledgable about the subjects and funny. He took time to get to know and involve everyone. 10/10 would recommend
The destination of the causeway is lovely, however the bus conditions and lunch arrangements were subpar. There was no bathroom facility in the bus, and relief stops along the was were too few. There was no wifi on board, and seats were very uncomfortable. No prior communication was given or posted regarding lunch arrangement. We were told about lunch arrangements only after the bus tour was well underway. We ended up at a remote restaurant with no choice of food other than a buffet with a prison-style cafeteria food choice and service. Food was nasty. The tour attendees Lori and driver Michael were very professional, knowedgeable, and curteous. Michael was a very skilled driver and knew the area well. Lori was very knowlegeable narrator and wit. They both made the trip pleasant. Overall, better communication should be provided in ad ance about exectations, so passengers can better prepare for their personal needs. I do not recommend this tour as is
Mark was an excellent guide, knowledgeable, kind and funny. We enjoyed the tour. Food wasn’t great yet the last stop (giants causeway) was insane and we enjoyed it so much.
Great trip. Well worth the cost. Lisa our tour guide was knowledgeable and thorough with information, pointing out lots to see and do. Also good with directions and tips at the stops. Michael was a great driver and both were pleasant and approachable.
The locations the tour visits are worth seeing but the tour was let down by a few things : 1. The bus seats were so awful, so claustrophobic and no leg room, I am 5 ft 8 and my knees were touching the seat in front. They have jammed way too many people onto the bus, we dreaded getting back on. The seats in front were broken and in permanent recline and making creaking noise the whole time. We were not permitted to move seats. 2. There was no one at the meet up point to greet people, we found the bus ourselves. Despite the tour scheduled to leave at 9am, it actually left at 8:45am. 3. The lunch place at the Hedges Hotel was awful slop, they don’t tell you how much it costs until you pay and it was $17 pounds each after your discount! You are held to ransom as there is nowhere else to eat it use the toilet. There wasn’t enough space in the restaurant for everyone to get a seat. 4. Two buses from the same company contained 50 people each and followed each other the whole day. We were on the second bus and despite arriving 5 mins or so after the first bus we always left at the same time. This meant we were shortchanged on time at each spot and were last to queue and access viewpoints etc which were already crowded by people from the first bus. The bus arrival and leaving times should be staggered so it’s fair. The time at the giants causeway and the first castle were generous but everything else felt rushed. The tour bus operator provided little recommendations about what to do at each location and just seemed tired of his job. In summary, I would not do this tour again.
Stuart was amazing! Very chatty and knowledgeable and funny! The tour was amazing - and this particular weekend all castles were free (suprized us all due to National park weekend!)
Fabulous trip - very friendly and knowledgeable driver. Loved the Giant’s Causeway especially - fortunately we had ok weather too 😊
This was the best tour for our entire Amsterdam and British Isles journey and oddly enough the best price of all too. Troy was a wonderful guide and took us to the most wonderful lunch spot (Harry’s) - if you’ve done much traveling, particularly cruise excursions, you know they usually take you a place to eat that’s not very good and this was a total opposite! We so highly recommend this tour, but most especially if you can get Troy! We hope to see Troy and Ireland again someday (I still can’t believe how many people on that bus thought that grandmother was going to be waiting at that window LOL).
Good trip. Almost all places we covered in northern Ireland. Drive/Guide is provide detail. He stopped famous places and given enough time to visit.
Hi Troy it's Spencer. You were absolutely wonderful and you made such a lasting Irish impression on us. Thanks from me and my mom!
Our driver, Mark, was great. The sights were wonderful. The commentary from our guide, Allan, was terrible. Instead of providing us with practical info about the sites we’d be visiting, he spent his time telling jokes about femicide, domestic violence against women, and singing misogynistic songs. When he asked why no one on the bus was laughing, he failed to respond to calls that violence against women isn’t funny. It’s 2026, City Sightseeing- you need to do better.
The Giant’s Causeway was awesome. The 2 castles were excellent & very different from each other so they complemented each other well. The Dark Hedges & lunch was ordinary. The coach was not luxury. The seats are fine if you are 5’3” (& I am) but not if you are 6’3” (which my husband is. It’s as comfortable as sitting in an economy plane seat with no extra leg room. The speakers in the coach did not work so we missed out on the commentary which was very disappointing.
We would highly recommend this trip as an opportunity to experience the breathtaking coastal scenery. Our driver, Dave, was outstanding in terms of his warm welcome, sense of humour and the insightful and extensive history he shared.
Absolutely fantastic trip with City sightseeing Belfast visiting castles and Giant's Causeway. Dave was a wonderful driver, very knowledgeable and friendly, didn't take himself seriously. He gave us plenty of tips which were not only money saving but also time saving, when time is limited, really helps. If you're able to take snacks, then do, options for food along the way can be quite limited. Stopped at the Dark Hedges hotel, there was an option for a buffet lunch, we decided to use The Pantry instead which was well stocked with sandwiches and cakes. Giants causeway, we took the red route down and the blue route back. If mobility is an issue, use the blue route. Better still, if you can join the National Trust, there's a shuttle bus that runs very frequently.
Lisa tour guide is very knowledgeable about history and local folklore and Steve is an excellent , safe and skilled driver. Thank you for the memories!!
I highly recommend this tour! Lisa provided plenty of interesting information with humour, and also, thanks to Stevie for his driving expertise.
We booked this guided tour not just to see the Giants Causeway but also to enjoy the coastal scenery on the way there. Imagine our horror to be advised when the coach set off that the itinerary had been changed because of a local marathon closing a large section of the coastal road so instead we would be going by the motorway. OK so if this had been sprung upon you I would understand but Troy our driver/guide advised us it was held on the same Sunday-y every year. The online booking should have had an alert to this effect so we could have made an informed choice - it did not. We were then advised we would be going for a carvery Sunday lunch with description of how special the lunch would be with locals travelling for miles to eat there. With the added bonus that Troy would provide us with a 10% off voucher. When we got to the Dark Hedges Hotel we did not like the look of the school canteen served plate of poor Sunday lunch so just had a drink. Just before we left we then discovered there was an alternative with a cafe and also a separate coffee van next door - no mention had been made of this and given we were eating later this would have been our preference. Luckily we had brought some sandwiches with us. When we left it was clear the only trade at the hotel was the coach passengers. The discount vouchers were also not accepted with the explanation the discount had already been advised - with the price charged there was no 10 % discount. When Troy was challenged by a party on the trip he was very defensive and said the party would need to take it up with the hotel. Clearly all a tourist trap with backhanders from the hotel to you for hoodwinking tour participants to eat here. Having now read earlier reviews your assurances 2 months ago that people would be advised of the alternatives has not been followed through. Have to admit by the end of the day we were thoroughly fed up with the constant commentary which was repetitive (why say something once or twice when you can say it a dozen times) drivel. Disappointed.
Absolutely great trip! We've seen and learned lots thanks to Dave. He kept ppl happy throughout the entire trip, played good music, told us some good stories, took us to amazing spots and allowed enough time for breaks. ☆☆☆☆☆
What an amazing day!!! Stuart was extremely knowledgeable and funny and he made the whole trip very enjoyable. The tour itself was great - it is a full day so we took drinks and snacks. There is a lunch stop at Dark Hedges however I’m gluten free and my friend is vegetarian so we took our own lunch and we were glad we did as it’s a buffet which is Chinese/fried food and lasagna. The castles were great, enough time to see it all but not too long that you felt you were just waiting for the coach to arrive to pick you back up. Definitely recommend the hotel at Giants Causeway for a drink - cosy chairs and nice drinks and a perfect place to sit and grab a drink after visiting the stones
This bus tour was fantastic! We came from Canada and wanted to take the pressure off of trying to see a few key places. We decided that allowing a tour company to take us was the best choice. We have never been on a bus tour before and were very glad we made the decision to tour with Troy! He was an excellent guide, skilled driver and showed a genuine interest in his guests. Great choice on our part!
Dave our driver for the day, was brilliant, gave us information on all the stops and places we passed through, up to our destination and back to Belfast. Would highly recommend.
This is an excellent tour - each stop was interesting and the time allowed was just right. Our guide & driver Stuart was superb. Brilliant driver; entertaining talker and highly competent at herding a coachful of tourists - ensuring we all got back at the right time and kept to schedule. The snippets of local music was much appreciated - here's a vote for Van Morrison's Carrickfergus. Recommended. More fun and better value than the Belfast 'hop-off hop on' tour.
The entire experience was wonderful. Our guide, Troy, was very knowledgeable, funny and kind. What a great storyteller! He also came with costumes. How he managed the narrow roads was equally impressive. I highly recommend this tour.
We had a fantastic experience on this tour! Stuart was an amazing guide who had a vast depth of knowledge and could converse on any topic. All the places we visited were lovely and we enjoyed every single one. Stuart gave us a great overview of the history and points of interest of all the places we visited and drove through. The bus was comfortable, clean, and everything about the trip was top notch!
This was a wonderful and informative tour. Our guide Troy gave us lots of history of the area and shared personal stories and jokes. Giants Causeway was breathtaking. The Dark Hedges were a little underwhelming. If you are a Game of Thrones fan it could be worth it. The scenery on the drive and the Causeway were the best part of the trip.
Costal drive that is enjoyable and beautiful with scenery. More stops (only 1) in 3 hrs + prior to lunch. Would have been beneficial to know that Carrickfergus Castle is closed Mondays. Additionally, we would prefer to hear more history regarding the country or region when participating in a tour. Otherwise, the tour is a good price and was pleasant.
As a family of 4 French people, we enjoyed very much our tour with Lisa and Tommy ! It was clear, well organised and funny. The itinerary is well chosen. Thanks you for this journey.
The driver was an absolute legend, loved every second of the beautiful time that I’ve had, he cracked jokes, told us stories and history about the places that we’ve been to. If I had a chance to go to that tour again, I would absolutely do it.
I’m sure this tour was great. Viator got the times all wrong. They still have winter hours listed. We weren’t able to go because the bus driver thankfully checked on our cruise departure time. We would not make it back on time. He correctly predicted that we had booked with Viator. The new return time was over an hour later than the times we had booked. The bus driver was extremely helpful, but we missed out on seeing the Giants Causeway and spent our day in Belfast instead.
Our bus driver was excellent and got us to the various sites on the agenda for the day in good time and with excellent driving skills. We enjoyed each stop as we saw the various things to see. It was a good day and worthwhile taking this particular tour.
Very good commentary and ample time at each stop. Would highly recommend. Great value for the price.
Stuart was amazing. He was super funny and informative and the views were beautiful. The whole experience was better than we expected.
Our driver and guide Stuart was excellent. The itinerary was brilliant and a great day was had by all! Would definitely recommend anyone to go on this trip
Had a great tour with Stuart , friendly, informative and funny, well worth the time
My friend and I had a great time on the tour. Our guide was both entertaining and knowledgeable, which made the experience even more enjoyable. One suggestion I would make is to pack your own lunch and walk over to the Dark Hedges entrance. Our lunch stop was at the Hedges Hotel, and unfortunately, the food was disappointing. It was served cafeteria-style and cost £20 (€23/$27). If I’m paying that much for lunch, I’d at least like to have a choice of what I eat. I was also disappointed that our tour guide didn’t mention there is a snack shop near the entrance to the Dark Hedges. Had we known, we would have skipped the hotel lunch and grabbed something there instead.
The driver was very informative with the background on all the places we visited. He also communicated very well on what time we needed to be aboard the bus and what we could expect at the places we stopped
The tour guide, Troy, puts his heart and soul into this tour and provides the ultimate example of the craic. Beautiful views. Possibly the only, very slight, disappointment was the giants causeway was smaller than expected!
Mark, our driver, was excellent with a great sense of humour! Perfect balance of telling us about the area and attractions versus leaving us to just enjoy the journey. He also kept the group aware of running to time. A long day but the trip included several attractions.
Excellent trip with variety. Loved The Giant’s Causeway. The driver just didn’t stop talking for the whole trip! Some bits were very interesting, but when it’s constant, you switch off. Definitely recommend the day though. Thank you
Fantastic tour with just the right amount of time at all locations. The weather was definitely on our side with gorgeous sunshine but that star of the trip is Stuart. What a brilliant bloke, he drove the bus while keeping up such an engaging commentary and was just so much fun to listen to. We already thought he was excellent but he managed to go up to GOAT level when we got stuck coming home because the police had closed the main road. Stuart must have been so stressed as we had cruise passengers onboard who were basically not going to get back to the ship in time. So he asked everyone if we’d mind detouring to the port, which we duly did. We were late getting back to Belfast centre but for me the view of the ship was worth it and I’m so glad the passengers made their sailing. Stuart was late to his next job but honestly what a legend to go out of his way like that to help. 5 star trip 5 star staff 10/10 recommend.
