One of the most popular natural phenomena in Northern Ireland, the Dark Hedges were used as a set for the hit TV series Game of Thrones. It was the famous King’s Road in Season 2. The hedges were planted by the Stuart family in the eighteenth century. It was intended to impress visitors as they approached the entrance to their home, Gracehill House. Two centuries later, the trees remain a magnificent sight and have become known as the Dark Hedges.
What a day. We saw so much, and our guide catered the day to our interests. Giants Causeway, Rope bridge, the Hedges, a cemetery, Bushmills. Fantastic. Our guide was knowledgeable and interesting, and knows everyone along the way. His Mercedes van was clean and comfortable.He picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel, which was a bonus. I can't say enough good things about our experience with Murat and our private tour of Northern Ireland's Antrim Coast, Giants Causeway, Carrick-a-Rede Ropes Bridge, Dunluce Castle and The Dark Hedges. First of all I would like to thank John, our guide, for showing us multiple beautiful sights of Northern Ireland. It was a rainy start to our magical day. John picked us up promptly at 8AM at our hotel in Ballymena. Our first stop was the stunning fishing village of Carnlough. Our quest was to photograph North Ireland. Interestingly the start of our tour was where a scene of Game of Thrones was filmed. Fisherman were busy harvesting their lobster traps. From there we went to Cranny Falls in Gleenariff, a gorgeous unexpected stop. The whole drive along the coast lived up to their billing of one of the 5 best drives in the world. Then it was off to the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge and the Giant’s Causeway. I would recommend sturdy walking shoes as both destinations required a good hour of hiking from the cliffs to sea level and back again. Lunch was fish and chips in Bushmill followed by a taste testing of fine whiskey. Next was the Dunluce Castle and the finally the Dark Hedges, which was also used for filming Game of Thrones. John was charming and had brilliant stories throughout the day. I highly recommend using Belfast Tours NI for your customized excursion while in Northern Ireland!

We had a great day out with Murat. He picked up the 4 of us from our Airbnb and took us on the Antrim coastal route to the Giants Causeway. We stopped in a couple of small towns and viewing spots along the way. We saw dolphins swimming off the shore! The views were beautiful and Murat was a great guide, discussing history, nature, folklore, etc. Definitely recommend!

If you only have one day in Belfast, then this is tour you MUST book. Murat met us at our hotel and from the moment he greeted us, his customer service was amazing. From opening the van's door each and every time for my wife and family, to ensuring we were comfortable temperature wise during the drive to the expert knowledge of the Belfast area, the service was first class. Murat gave us lots of historical and cultural information and was more than happy to answer questions. Our tour was a small group which is something I’ll now prefer to do going forward because the private tour provided by Murat seemed like a friend taking us around the city and countryside. I would highly recommend this tour over others because you get to do and learn so much more than you would on larger groups. Murat never rushed us at any of our tour stops, and made several on the spot recommendations as he got to learn me and my family.

We booked a private tour and enjoyed a relaxed day out with Micheal Smit, a fantastic tour guide, who showed us a lot more than the Giant Causeway. We enjoyed our trip a lot as everything went really smooth, the car was very comfortable, Micheal picked us up at the hotel on time, was very thoughtful and informative during the whole 8hour journey, we had enough time to enjoy every place, we definitely would do it again and can only recommend to book this tour.
I can definitely recommend this tour. Murat was flexible and engaging, and showed us a variety of sights. I am very familiar with the Six Counties (and its weather in October!), but my fellow traveler is not, yet we were able to work out a nice itinerary.
We booked Murat a few months ago for a private 3 person tour of the Causeway area and the Antrim Coast. Well, what a day! Murat is very personable and very knowledgeable of the area. Pickup at the hotel downtown was right on time. Right from the start he explained the trip is about us and wanted to make it the best day possible. The vehicle is a comfortable 8 person van with wifi (but don't spend your time on your phone) and he supplies soft drinks and snacks. We hit the usual spots, Giant's Causeway, Bushmills, Dunluce Castle etc; and some hidden gems (including the Cods Way for a fish and chips lunch) that help make the trip unique and special. He was very patient (especially with me and my camera) even though out tour ran a little long. Book this tour. Cheers
Our party of eight went to the Giant's Causeway with Murat of Belfast Tours NI. Our ship did arrive two hours late into Belfast so our excursion was cut short. The Causeway is an amazing phenomenon of nature especially since one can walk all over the stones.
Murat was an excellent tour guide for our family of four. We saw wonderful sites along the Antrim coast. Murat personalized our tour for us, omitting some sites we chose to skip and then finding another site neither he nor we had been to! Murat gave us a lot of information about the area, as well as provided a couple of Irish folk tales,too. We felt completely safe with him & he provided water and snacks. Murat is trying to build his business up. You won't go wrong touring with him. It was a wonderful adventure!

First of all, like the title says, Murat is awesome! He picked us up when we requested and treated us like family from the start. Not only did we see the Antrim Coast and the main sights like Giants Causeway and Dunlunce Castle, but we got to customize some of the little stops along the way. We wanted to see a little waterfall in the Glenariff Forest - though Murat had never been there, he took us through the forest to find the perfect access point! Murat knew the perfect place for fish & chips for lunch; was always accommodating with time, snacks, and water. He has the best attitude and sincerely made our tour of the Antrim Coast the perfect day out.

We toured the Giant’s Causeway, stopped at a few Game of Thrones filming locations, toured a beautiful castle, stopped at a long rope bridge, saw some beautiful coastal areas and then returned to Belfast for a tour of some of the highlights of Belfast. Murat picked us up at our Belfast hotel promptly and sat with us in his Mercedes van to map out our day. He made suggestions and listened to our ideas and then we set off on a fun-filled, jam-packed day. (We set the pace but if you want a slower pace Murat would be sure to slow down for you.) We’re big GoT fans so we chose to go see The Dark Hedges, House Greyjoy, the Iron Islands, Melisandre’s cave, and more. We also stopped at the Giant’s Causeway and the Bushmills Distillery. Murat was lots of fun and kept us informed, entertained, and even had beverages and sweets for us to enjoy! It was worth every penny to have a tour of our own going exactly where we wanted to go. We had a great day on our private day trip! Murat was very knowledgeable about the area and able to answer our questions, as well as being accommodating. We actually went longer on the time because he got us to one more destination for the day. He had drinks and snacks and free wifi! If you want to be able to see all the hot spots in limited time I really suggest you do this. All the fun without the hassel of driving!
We spent a day in Northern Ireland with our daughters, 16 and 13. Murat was a perfect host and guide from the moment we first connected. He built a bespoke itinerary based on our interests. Gave us clear instructions leading up to the tour. Was timely and gracious in greeting us. Had several tricks only a local would know to get us quick and exclusive access. He adjusted our plans throughout the day based on our feedback, and anticipated a few perfect stops we wouldn't have known without him. He kept our teenaged daughters entertained through the day (not an easy task). And left us with smiles, laughter and a day filled with special memories. We can't recommend Murat highly enough!

His ride includes very fast, unlimited Wi-Fi, drinks, and he even bought us beer since we said we never had irish beer! Also made us bypass the fee to go through. The Giant's Causeway. This tour was one of the highlights of our trip, thanks largely to our guide Michael. Our family of 5 was greeted at our cruise port by Michael who took time to talk with us about how we wanted to spend our day, and what we wanted to see in addition to the Giant's Causeway. After discussing the interests of each person in our family, he wove together a packed day that included the beauty of the Antrim Coast, castles, waterfalls, whisky tasting, Game of Thrones sites, the Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge, the Giant's causeway, and a tour of Belfast where we had time to sign the Peace Wall. I am amazed at how much we were able to do, all the while learning about Ireland and its history. Michael was very knowledgeable and gave us an absolutely unforgettable day, from start to finish!
Thank you Murat! My son and I did a one day trip which included pick-up from the Titanic Belfast hotel to the Carrick-a-Reade bridge, Ballintoy Harbor, Giants Causeway and a quick stop at the Dunluce Castle, finally dropping us off at the George Best Airport. I booked this trip with Murat because he was ALWAYS prompt via email with any questions and made the booking via Paypal (once I figured out how to do it) very easy. This was a private trip for just the two of us. We were expecting his little car, but he had just upgraded to a van. The ride was smooth and as there were only two of us, we had more than enough space. We started our trip going to the Carrick-a-Reade bridge, unfortunately it was too windy for us to cross. We spent some time there walking about and then headed off to Balintoy Harbor for a quick look, off to the main reason for our trip Giants Causeway. We had a clear blue sky and great weather for our trip there, we finished with a quick stop to Dunluce Castle (we did not enter as they were closing shortly after we got there) had a quick bit of fish/chips and went to the airport. We had a wonderful day and enjoyed the recorded stories Murat played on the car radio. The only two issues I had were 1. Murat smokes, and although he did not smoke around us, just at every stop, the smell lingered on his clothes. I did not directly ask him not to smoke, but told him it was aggravating my asthma. I should have directly said please do not (especially since he had his Nicorette gum in the car.) The 2nd issue was he had some mechanical problems with his vehicle that caused him to not be able to shut the vehicle down from the time we left the Carrick-a-Reade bridge. He needed to get back to Belfast for some parts and an emergency service repair that night which caused us to be dropped off at the airport about 30 minutes sooner than originally planned. Overall the trip was great, Murat was an excellent driver, great conversationalist and extremely helpful for our private tour. If you are as sensitive to cigarette smoke as we are, then this might not be the best tour, but it was far better than being on a fully loaded bus tour. I really did enjoy our time, the weather was cooperative and we have wonderful memories. Thank you and I would recommend Murat.

We were able to add an additional site that was not listed. We could spend as much time as we wanted at each stop and could discuss the order we wanted to see things. As a professional photographer, I was looking for a tour that allowed us to go at our own pace, and not be rushed, as we would have been on a large group bus tour. Cannot recommend this highly enough!! Murat was amazing as both a driver and a tour guide. Do not let the cost deter you!!! It may be a bit more expensive than other tours listed, but this one can be completely customized for you. When we met Murat on the day of our tour, we asked about a couple of additional sites, all of which could be accommodated.
