The Glen's of Antrim which are situated on the beautiful North Coast,is an area of outstanding beauty, with breathtaking views and is a must see for anyone travelling to our wonderful country. As we make our way through the Glens you will have ample opportunity to take photos of the magnificent scenery and also view the many beautiful fishing villages along the way. So have your camera ready as you don't want to miss these breathing views.
Around 250 years ago fishermen erected Carrick-a-reed rope bridge for the purpose of fishing for Atlantic salmon. This was a flourishing industry at the time and in any one day there may have been catches of up to 350 fish. However by 2002 you would be lucky to catch the same amount in a whole season. It is no longer used by fishermen during the salmon season. The bridge spans just over 20 metres across and 30 meters ( over 100 feet) above sea level. This can be quite daunting for some visitors and on a few occasions there have been people who can't make it back across and have had to be taken by boat back to the mainland. So come and have a look for yourself.
The Giant's causeway is the only UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE in Northern Ireland. Often called the Eighth Wonder of the world, the Giant's causeway is a magical, mythical and mysterious place to visit. Made up of over 40 thousand polygonal columns these stones were created more than 60 million years ago. Was it volcanic activity or a dispute between two Giants?? Come and see for yourself and make your own mind up!
Granted a license to distill in 1608, Bushmills is the oldest licensed whiskey distillery in the world. Take a guided tour around the working distillery and enjoy the smells and sounds or a tutored whiskey tasting tour of well stocked exclusive Bushmills whiskey brands. No matter what you decide you will not be disappointed. This is an ideal tour for Whiskey lovers or anyone who just enjoys hertitage, history and culture.
Situated on the dramatic coastal cliffs of North Antrim, Dunluce castle was first built by the McQuillan family around 1500. In the 17th century Dunluce was the seat of the earls of Antrim and saw the establishment of a small town in 1608. Visitors can learn the dramatic history of Dunluce with tales of banshee's and shipwrecks. The iconic ruins of Dunluce castle have a long and tumultuous history and these dramatic stories will intrigue everyone.
The Dark Hedges is a beautiful avenue of beech trees planted by the Stuart family in the 18th century and the idea was that they would impress anyone who visited their Georgian mansion ( Gracehill house). Due to the enormous worldwide success of the television series, 'The Game of Thrones' now almost two centuries later the iconic trees have become the most photographed natural phenomenon in Northern Ireland.

We anticipated this trip for several months and it didn't disappoint! Michael was an EXCEPTIONAL tour guide and we had the BEST DAY! Giant's Causeway, the rope bridge, the castle, seeing where parts of Game of Thrones was filmed to Carrick-a-Rede views, were all just magical! Lots of laughs and smiles along the way. What an amazing tour and what an amazing country! Cannot wait to visit again!
Wow! We had the best day and saw so many beautiful sites. Giants Causeway was a highlight for me. The countryside and coastal views were breathtaking and we had lots of stops to take photos. But the best part… we laughed along every step of the way with Michael and Joe!
Great experience and Michael as very accommodating getting us to our sights. We had set up our own itinerary.
Exceptional tour and guide!! The guide, Jimmie met us in the area where a bunch of guides were meeting people; he had separated from the group of guides enough that we saw our name placard clearly before we got close to him. His vehicle was very clean, well maintained and comfortable. Jimmie had snacks and water for us; he knew where all the good clean bathrooms were along the route to the causeway. Jimmie was also knowledgeable about the sites along the route and answered our historical questions. We had taken this same tour in 2014 via a cruise excursion and this private tour was vastly superior to that tour. Since this was a private tour, we were able to stop at more sites and see more of Ireland's beauty. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to spend a great day!!! Larry, Karen, Pat and John
The Causeway was breathtaking unfortunately, the weather didn’t cooperate, wish we more time to explore. Our guide was extremely informative
Michael is a 10 star guide. We had so much fun with him while touring. He was knowledgeable and informative. He took great care in getting us back to our ship on time. We would hire him again!
Excellent, Carrickfurgus, Giants Causeway, coast of NorthernIreland. Our driver was Micheal.. amazing, friendly. Great Tour!!
Our tour guide Mick was the absolute best! He had us engaged and laughing from the moment we met him to the moment we finally pulled ourselves away at the end of the tour. He gave us any and all options of stops based on our wants. The van was clean and spacious. We have been traveling for 7 days and I can honestly say this was the best tour so far, our cheeks hurt from all the laughter!!
It was a beautiful day and the sun was out. The views were amazing. Tony was a great tour guide with much knowledge about the area. He did all that we asked of him and even went above and beyond. We highly recommend!
5 stars to Suzanne our tour guide. Highly recommended for her knowledge that she shared with us. Suzanne knew where to tell us to go to, when to return and had a smile all day long.
Tony did an amazing job of maximizing our time. Keeping us on schedule. Having snacks and water. Letting my girls request an all Taylor Swift playlist and making the day fun, educational, relatable and comfortable. Thx Tony!
Jackie was fantastic! I felt like I was riding through the countryside with a dear friend. He was knowledgeable and informative. His positive spirit and delightful brogue helped me understand much of the history and even the tender subject of the 'conflict' ... He was flexible and personable. He was also super helpful with my brother and his walker. I highly recommend this tour and Jackie in particular!
Jackie was awesome. New clean van, first rate experience. Super knowledgeable on Ireland history. He really helped us make sense of the historical sites and explain his personal experiences growing up in Belfast. 5-Stars***** Bob S.
Belfast is a neat little city, which is undergoing a revival now that the Troubles seem to be behind us. The Giant's Causeway is in County Antrim, not far from Belfast. It is a location of staggering beauty, seen nowhere else in the world. It is close to the Old Bushmills Distillery, the oldest distillery in Britain. You will also see the background to the series Game of Thrones, which was filmed in Northern Ireland.
We had an amazing day with Michael! He picked us up from our cruise terminal and took us up the coast to Giant’s Causeway. Along the way we stopped to take in some picturesque views and saw the rope bridge. He made a lunch reservation at the cutest little restaurant in Bushmills. We then drove back to Belfast for the political tour. Michael was so well informed and had a great sense of humor. We hated to leave him at the end of the day!
Michael gave us a full day tour that exceeded our expectations. He first took us to the murals and Peace wall and gave us a personalized and thorough explanation of the political and religious tensions affecting Belfast. We then headed north and stopped at castle ruins, a real fairy tree, the best ice cream in a local town, a picnic lunch by the ocean, and our final destination of Giants Causeway which was amazing. Michael was so informative, patient, passionate and friendly and we were so blessed and thankful for such a wonderful day.
I had an amazing experience with Jackie, learned a lot about the history. I was worried about understanding the Irish accent (as I am french) but he was speaking very clearly. I HIGHLY recommand !
