Great experience and knowledgeable guide with an actual gunshot would in the leg. He covered the intensity of the conflict impartially.
Very real. Walking in steps of history. No sugar coating. Jimmy spoke from experience. We learned so much. We went into a replica of an actual jail cell.
Great experience we learned a lot that we did not know about the troubles in N Ireland. George, our guide, had lived through the heart of these time having been shot himself and having lost his best friend. His insight as to what caused it and how to end it was wonderful. A must do if you are here for the first time!
This was a wonderful tour and a real highlight of our time in Ireland, both the North of Ireland and the Republic. Our guide, Gerry, was extremely knowledgable about the political history of Belfast. We traveled with our 10-year-old, and he also made sure the tour was interesting and accessible for him. A really excellent experience that we would recommend to anyone, especially if you're interested in Irish history.
Brenden was knowledgeable, informative, patient under questioning, and charming. You would have to go far to get a better guide than Brenden. Highly recommended. We came away with a much better understanding of Northern Island.
Sean was very informative and passionate. He explained the entire history of Belfast. Excellent tour.
We were told to take a Black Cab tour when we visited Belfast to get insight into the "Troubles". One was sold out months in advance, but I thought I got lucky with this one having availability. I'm not sure it was luck. While it was a memorable experience, it was also an uncomfortable one with our driver's personal connection to the turmoil not allowing for a particularly balanced presentation. It was a more emotional and intense morning than we had bargained for.
A two hour deep dive into the past (violent) and present (political/social) troubles of Belfast. Told with wit and wisdom by a fellow who lived it. Brendan was a marvelous guide and managed to convey a detailed picture of the horror of the conflict while offering a hopeful message about the future. Do not miss!
Great tour, driver Brendan was very friendly and informative. Would recommend this tour highly 5 star ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Sean was an amazing tour guide. Providing amazing knowledge and insight into the Troubles. We saw both sides. Visited many sites a your bus can’t travel Loved the tour!
We met Ricky and he gave us a lovely welcome and proceeded to give us a much needed reminder of Irish history ….we had forgotten a lot since our school days so it was a great backdrop to the tour. He was very engaging and the pace and depth of the information was perfect. He was very open and balanced about the “troubles” in Northern Ireland. Bhí suim aige sa teanga Gaelic chomh maith agus chuir sé sin go mór le nár dturas. Go raibh míle maith agat. Micheál agus Helen
This is an absolute must. Our two hour tour with Ricky was incredible. If short on time this tour gives a great overview of the history of Belfast.
Extremely thoughtful and informative tour. Mikey was a most knowledgeable and conscientious guide who went above and beyond. Highly recommend!
Could not recommend this tour more!!! We had an absolute blast! I honestly wish we had longer, it was so fascinating. They do an amazing job telling the history and current day story of Belfast!
An absolute must if you visit Belfast, Ger and the guys were brilliant and made this tour very memorable - would definitely recommend
To have our own driver with so much information to share was amazing. Brendan gave us the background story on the troubles, showing us the murals and key locations around town while also letting us know how things have, and continue, to improve. Much of what we heard was different to how things were portrayed on the news back in the day, so very refreshing and awakening. Would recommend to anyone, a highlight of our trip to Ireland.
We were taken around by a lovely tour called Ricky, whose knowledge of the area was exemplary and led us on an interesting and moving tour. I never really knew what had happened in Belfast over the last few centuries, and I was blown away by the history that the city has. Would highly recommend to anyone going to Belfast!
Our driver, Sean, did a fine job of telling us about the sights and the underlying situations when touring us through both the Catholic and Protestant neighborhoods of Belfast. If you’re interested in having a deeper understanding of the NI “Troubles” this is a good tour. Sadly, it looks like the everyday people living in the neighborhoods are not interested much in reconciliation and putting the past in the past.
Irish history of the troubles in Belfast is examined through the murals and exact locations of some of the events. Powerful tour.
We did this tour not knowing what the expect and we got a great experience because of Kevin our guide. His knowledge was so helpful that he allowed us to see other points of views. He stayed neutral and gave analogies that gave us the correct context. He showed up on time and stayed on time throughout the tour. Loved it
Great tour. Guide (Danny L) a thoroughly nice bloke and tremendously knowledgable about the subject.
