Ricky was a great guide His first hand experience growing up during the conflict took the tour to another level. His knowledge of the backstory and the centuries of conflict over British rule really gave me a taste of the history I have have heard during my life time He put everything in a timeline I can now share with others I would not call this tour fun but I feel closer to my Irish roots then ever before

What was supposed to be a 2 hour tour turned into a 2.5 hour tour and it felt like it still wasn’t long enough. David’s personal reflection of the history of Belfast and the conflict that took place in this city was graphic and sad but he also shows how the healing that has happened both personally and for all peoples of Belfast is inspiring. You can’t help but love this man who is helping in his own way to make Belfast a safe and wonderful place for the generations to come. He speaks so respectfully of his mom and her work; about his grandson who he adores and wants a better life for. Thank you for trusting us with your story David. May your hope for the peace wall’s removal happen in the years to come so that everyone can live without any fear and so no one need experience the trauma that thousands of young people like you have endured. We expected to hear about Belfast's history, but my goodness, to hear about it from someone who lived through it was a very special experience. David brought his personal stories, and remarkable memory of dates and events, which put us back in the midst of the conflict, all the while seeing it from different perspectives. The tour was informative, moving and definitely a necessary activity for anyone visiting Belfast. Thank you David.

Unfortunately, I needed to cancel my tour and the company refunded my money within minutes. Now THAT'S service. I hope to use them the next time.

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with David yesterday. Hearing about the Troubles from someone who lived it definitely made things feel much more real. He was very open about his experiences and perspective, and answered all of our questions with honesty and heart. He was also hilarious and we equally enjoyed his various non-Troubles-related tales and meeting all his friends. Pickup, drop-off and payment were easy with no issues. The tour did go on for an hour longer than planned but it’s because we were so interested we lost track of time, and David didn’t seem to mind. Would definitely recommend for fans of Say Nothing!

Two-hour Black Taxi political/mural tour in Belfast. Ricky, my guide (also an historian and artist), was kind, friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the political history in Belfast and specifically the time known as “The Troubles”. He brought this period to life for me both academically and from personal experience. He provided me ample time to take photos and to ask questions. I feel very fortunate to have met this incredible man and to have him guide me through The Troubles of Belfast. I’m 79 years old - Ricky is the age of my oldest child. Unlike my children, he grew up in the midst of The Troubles … its encounters like this that tend to put life in perspective. Thank you Ricky!

We had a fantastic tour with Gerard! We learned so much and heard lots of interesting stories along the way. Duncan was absolutely fantastic. His knowledge of Belfast’s political history was second to none, and he explained such a complex and sensitive subject in a way that was balanced, engaging and really easy to follow. He brought the history of the Troubles, the murals and the different communities to life without ever making it feel like a history lecture which is no mean feat! He also had us laughing throughout, so somehow we came away feeling far more educated while also having had a brilliant time. There were loads of opportunities for photos along the way, and Duncan was great at pointing out the best spots and explaining the stories behind everything we were seeing. Signing the Peace Wall was a real highlight and made the tour feel even more memorable. You can tell Duncan genuinely knows Belfast inside out and has a real passion for its history and people. We learned so much, took far too many photos, and could have happily listened to him for hours. Would recommend him in a heartbeat basically a walking Belfast political encyclopaedia, just much funnier! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Gerard was simply the best tour guide we have ever had. We were throughly entertained from the very beginning of our tour to the very end. My husband and I took the Ultimate Sightseeing Tour of Belfast with Gerard as our guide. It was an unforgettable experience. Gerard is passionate about the history of Belfast. He has lived through it, so we were given a first-person account. Looking at the murals with Gerardo was so much better than if we had ventured out on our own. Gerardo also personalized our tour a bit. Since I am a retired teacher, he took us to the C.S.Lewis Park to see delightful sculptures. We visited the chippy that was used in the filming of “Derry Girls”. Belfast was very congested when we visited because of the music festival. Gerardo handled the road closures very well. We highly recommend this tour!!!

Brendan picked up our family and showed us the murals, gardens, and all the ordinary parts of West Belfast. We got to see the real places where Northern Ireland’s history happened and still unfolds. We learned so much as Brendan shared his personal experiences and he made sure we were able to see the living history of both the Protestant and Catholic communities. Highly recommend!
