Private Mutianyu Great Wall Trip With English-speaking Driver

Driving back from a morning on the wall ...Driver was on time and professional great english safe driving. You get escorted to the cable car and get a quick information on route the off you go and the best thing is if you have a young child or just don't want to spend all day on the wall you can just leave and make this much more easy on yourself ....I would leave at 630am to you avoid all the madness and lines and feel you have a much more enjoyable experience......

This tour was fantastic. Our tour guide James was amazing. He picked us promptly and spoke great English. He was very good with the kids and was able to read what we needed. He organised the tickets for the cable car and toboggan on the way down. An early start is the best, he picked us up at 6.30 and we got there with no real queues.

Ken was extremely helpful and prompt, making sure we got where we needed to, gave excellent recommendations on our trip and ensured we were comfortable for our whole journey, loved the experience!

Arien picked us up at 6:30 AM, and from the very beginning, he was so friendly and welcoming. We initially had no idea which route to choose, but Arien patiently explained everything and helped us plan the best way to visit Mutianyu for both way (chair lift hp - toboggan down and cable car up - cable car down). His experience really made a difference! He knew exactly how to avoid the crazy queues, organised our tickets efficiently, and planned the timing perfectly. By 1 PM, we had already visited both sections of the Great Wall, while many other visitors were still waiting in incredibly long lines! He was also a wonderful companion and photographer, taking us to beautiful viewpoints and capturing some amazing photos. On the way back, he even treated us to a delicious local restaurant and a lovely little souvenir. What initially seemed like a complicated trip turned into such an easy, smooth and enjoyable experience, all thanks to Arien. Friendly, patient, knowledgeable and incredibly thoughtful. We were picked up from our hotel by Arien right on time at 6:30am. Arien asked us what did we have in mind. There was the option to get a cable car up and then a toboggan down for one part of the Great Wall. There was also a second option to get a cable car up and a cable car down for another part of the Great Wall. We decided to take up both options. These were at additional costs. Arien spoke good English and did a great job explaining everything. We had to provide a copy of our passports for him to purchase the cable car and toboggan tickets. He purchased the tickets on our behalf and we reimbursed him via WeChat Pay. Arien can accompany you on the Great Wall walk or he can meet you later at Subway where the drop off areas are. It was lucky that we had an early start, because by 9:00am it was very crowded to walk around the Great Wall. We finished by 10:30am and walked back down to meet with Arien again. There was an option to go to a Jade market and tea house, but we decided to go back to our hotel, and Arien dropped us off. All in all it was a great experience and we highly recommended Arien as our guide.

We booked this private tour to beat the crowds and arrive early at the Great Wall. Our driver Ken picked us up at our hotel in Beijing at 6 AM and we arrived at the Great Wall before anyone else. We had enough time to grab a coffee and a little bite for breakfast. Ken was absolutely amazing! He helped us secure the tickets, and he actually accompanied us on the first portion of the wall and took the most incredible photos. He is very knowledgeable and very sweet and we were so grateful that he was our driver and guide! I highly recommend booking this tour if you want a comfortable and custom trip to Mutianyu.

Our driver Arien went above and beyond with the service, was very attentive throughout the day, came to pick us up on time and even gave us loads of local recommendations for our visit to Beijing. He was also very kind in explaining everything and was extremely clear and helpful on what to expect during the day. I had a fantastic trip with the help of Ken. We arrived at the wall early, beat the crowds, and Ken helpfully explained the different options for lifts, gave directions, and helped arrange tickets. 10/10 experience!

Fantastic experience with James as our driver. We were picked up promptly from our hotel, then drove to the Great Wall. Our driver took us all the way to the entrance giving us the option of either chair lift / tabogan or cable car. Our driver was very knowledgeable, informative and friendly. Couldn’t have done anything better.

Had my tour to the great wall of China and it was amazing. Ken was knowledgeable and answered many of my questions. Gave me tips on which way to go. Bring comfy shoes as some parts of the wall can be steep. Layer up as well as it can be windy in some spots. I went late October and the weather was great! Go early if you can as I was leaving it was alot more crowded. Would recommend this tour!

We had an excellent day exploring the Great Wall with Arien. While the booking made it seem like we were getting a dedicated tour guide, the experience was more of a private driver service with some guiding along the way. That said, Arien was fantastic. His English was decent, he shared some interesting information, and he was attentive, generous, funny, and easy to get along with. He gave us the option to explore on our own while he waited, but we invited him to join us, and he happily climbed towers 19–23 alongside us. He was also great at taking photos and genuinely added to the experience. The drive back was an adventure of its own. Arien drove like a true Beijing local and somehow got us back to the hotel in record time. Overall, a fantastic experience with a great guy. Just be aware you're getting more of a driver than a traditional tour guide, but Arien's personality, flexibility, and willingness to go the extra mile made this an easy 5/5. Highly recommended.

We booked the private trip and it was great. Sasy communication to organise pick up. Our driver James was super friendly, helpful and drove very safe. He spoke excelent English and provided additional tips and some jokes during the 1.5h drive from city to the great wall.

Our driver James was awesome and very friendly. He made our last day in China so memorable. He told us interesting facts about the wall and surroundings as well as helped us purchase toboggan tickets. After the Great wall visit he even took us to beautiful Chinese jade factory and shop and to tea ceremony. Communications, pick-up and drop-off was effortless, would 100% recommend.

Thank you to our lovely Driver Arien for a terrific day to the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall. He arrived on time, his car was very comfortable and clean and his English was very good. He was lovely company. We also visited a local tea shop and enjoyed experiencing a tea ceremony. One of us hurt our ankle whilst walking on the wall and he was very helpful and organised an ice pack and drove closer so we wouldn’t have to walk so far. We stopped to buy fresh fruit on our way back which was fun and beautifully fresh. Thank you Arien for a great day.
