Amazing experience exploring Great Wall of China with the family. We were picked up promptly from our hotel in a very comfortable car. Tour guide was very experienced and knowledgeable. We learned so much. Experience was definitely so so much better with the guide. Great day.

The Mutianyu Great Wall is an ideal site for holiday makers instead of the Great Wall hikers. You know, the Mutianyue Great Wall is the only officially opened section where you have to do the mountain hike if you are going to climb up the Great Wall since the Mutianyu Great Wall doesn't start from the ground unlike other sections of the Great Wall. So at the Mutianyu Great Wall, you have the chance to enjoy a half hour mountain climbing as well as the Great Wall hike.

We had a wonderful tour guide, Haha. It was very hot but overall had a great time. It was a very easy and smooth experience had no stress over the ticketing or scheduling once we got there. Would definitely go again.
Alice was fantastic! She is extremely knowledgeable and made us feel genuinely welcome from the moment we met her at the lobby of our hotel. She tailored the tour around the specific points we wanted to see at the wall and even surprised us with a traditional tea ceremony experience, which was completely unexpected and made our trip even more memorable. The vehicle was luxurious, clean, and very spacious, making the journey comfortable throughout the day. This was exactly the type of tour we were looking for personalized and relaxing. We highly recommend Alice to anyone looking for an exceptional experience.
Great experience. Kathy is knowledgeable, punctual and accommodating. We enjoyed very much the tour snd strongly recommend it.
We had a really great time and our tour guide Jenny was exceptional! We needed to adjust the timing of our pick up due to arriving by train the same morning and they were very accommodating. Very comfortable and clean car for the drove the wall. Jenny was really friendly, easy to talk to and provided really interesting insights about the history of the wall and Chinese culture along the way. She also had really good knowledge about the good spots to get photos etc. The chairlift up the wall and toboggan down were really fun but be prepared to line up for a long time! Both Jenny and our driver were extremely patient with us as we lined up for these and took time to take lots of photos. Overall, would certainly recommend this tour for a very personalised experience!!
Absolutely loved it. I had so much fun there. Our tour lady from trip.com was awesome and the tour was for free. I suggest you do your carrion 5 months before as those steps are steeep getting up there.
Vivien is an excellent guide. Detailed and knowledgeable. Very patient too. She was was very thorough and very systematic. Spoke very well and clearly.
Excellent tour with very comfortable transportation. The wall was amazing and as it was winter time it was not too busy. The stop at the Jade factory was interesting but the sales assistant followed my wife around the store with quite heavy sales pressure which was unwelcome. The tea ceremony was interesting but the tea seemed expensive, but considered that the cost of the tea included the "free" tea ceremony cost so was more amenable. Would recommend this tour!
My husband and I were on a very tight timetable, arriving in Beijing just before noon and leaving the next day. I hunted around for a private afternoon half day tour to the Great Wall and I finally found Tour-Beijing, which was one of the few tour companies with excellent reviews and reasonable prices. Booking the tour was painless and straightforward. Making payment of the deposit was easy. We arrived at our hotel only minutes before we were due to be picked up by Tour-Beijing and, despite the traffic, our guide Ha Ha and driver turned up bang on 1pm. The car was large and comfortable and the driver was excellent. Ha Ha did not feel the need to talk to us the whole way, which was fantastic and, on arrival, she organised our tickets quickly and efficiently. I must admit, I was expecting our visit to the Wall to be a "damp squib". I thought it would be heaving with other tourists and a real let down. In reality, it was absolutely incredible, the real highlight of our holiday to China. We took the cable car up to the Wall, Ha Ha walked with us part of the way and then left us to walk further on our own. We then re-joined Ha Ha and we all went down the mountainside on the toboggan. (NB Those who are over 70 were not allowed to go down by toboggan, so you may need to be economical with your age!) Once at the bottom, Ha Ha took us to a tea house for a short, free, tea tasting. Yes, the teas and china that were available to purchase were pricier than elsewhere, but we didn't mind, as it rounded off the afternoon nicely. We were then dropped back at our hotel, feeing thrilled with the whole experience. I can highly recommend this efficient and competitive company.
The tour was amazing. Mary the tour organiser did an amazing job as we had to make some last minute requests. Wendy the tour guide had a great source of knowledge and was always very friendly. Our driver was also fantastic, accommodating our location needs.
What an absolute fantastic experience. A clear winter afternoon going up the slope to admire a beautiful sunset on the mountains around the Great Wall at Mutianyu. Everything was perfect, starting from the airport pick up by our lovely guide Wendy, being driven in a comfortable car and enjoying an "almost private" visit. The cold of the late afternoon was not a deterrent but instead added a spark of magic with the snowy landscape. We completed the experience with traditional Chinese food and tea tasting. Back to the airport right on schedule for our connecting flight. Seamless
We were picket up by our charming guide Angela at our hotel. Angela was eloquent and engaging and made the trip fun and interesting. At Angelas recommendation we took the chairlift which gave us a really nice view of the wall. We went on a Tuesday afternoon, there were almost no other tourists, so it seemed like we got the Great Wall almost to ourselves. The Great wall was a breathtaking experience! We got down using the car slide/toboggan. Overall an excellent trip!
Today we did the half day wall tour. Jackie came for us at our hotel, perfectly on time. The drive to the wall was great, the driver drove very safely and Jackie told us so much already. He knows all about the wall, China and has an answer to every question asked. He helped us with other things as well, such as places to go and travel schedules. Very friendly, qualified men. China is pretty overwhelming for us and we couldn't have done it without him. Thank you very much!
The half-day Tour to the Great Wall was perfect. Beautiful scenery both to and from. The 1-2 hours at the Great Wall was ample time to see, walk and experience this world wonder. Tour Guide, Jenny, was knowledgeable and pleasant. Nice to also have private driver. Highly recommend!
Thank you our tour guide ,Jack. We had a great experience of climbing the Great Wall. If you want to visit Beijing, "Tour-Beijing " is your first choice! Strongly recommended tour guide , Jack!!!
It was an amazing experience. Our guide was knowledgeable and fun. She filled us in on a lot of history we would never have known. The part of the wall we went to was not crowded and we had a great day. The ski lift up allowed us to take in gorgeous views and we took the toboggan ride down which was just fun.
July 21,22 We had the big opportunity to visit Beijing, and manage to arrange a tour to temple of Heaven, Tianamen square and Forbidden city, summer palace. On 22,visited Great Wall and undrground palace. All these great wonders, if plan to go there, tihnk big, is amazing, we had Jack as our guide he made the tour very enjoyable and interesting. Also assisted to the Red Theatre to a show, The legend of Kung fu UNBELIVEABLE, a must, do not miss it. Sorry I can not recall driver's name, very kind. I sure recommend if you plan to visit China let them help you to enjoy this Great and beautiful country. Since the first contact (Vicky, thanks for your guide to book and guide to get train tickets) and the kind and very helpful guide from Jack and our driver, a trip sure we always remember. Thanks
This was the family’s favorite attraction in Beijing. Out tour guide, Jenny, was first rate and she took us to the Great Wall, a jade store, a restaurant and a fruit orchard. The gondola up to the wall gave a beautiful view and the kids really enjoyed the toboggan down. We chose the flatter of two sections of the wall, but it was still quite hilly and we were all winded just walking to five checkpoints and back (10 total). I highly recommend this tour.
Took a private tour with Beijing tour (Champagne International Travel Servcie). Jenny was our guide and she was waiting on time for the pick-up in our hotel. The driver took us to the wall after the usual morning traffic jam in Beijing, it took 1.5 hours to get to the wall. Jenny spoke English very well and told us a lot about Beijing, its history and the wall. Had a great visit at the wall, and we could take our time and Jenny helped with some great photos. All in all, a great tour to visit the wall.
The Great Wall is amazing, and an absolute 'must-see' on any visit to China. This section has been well-maintained, although still a little difficult to walk along, due to the uneven stairs, etc. Not unexpected, considering the age. The smog was a bit disappointing, but lifted somewhat as the morning wore on. We were also very lucky to strike a day when not too crowded (compared to some of the photos we saw, taken on other days).
During our recent trip to Beijing, we opted to use the Beijing Tour services to visit Mutianyu - Great Wall. Without a doubt, it was an excellent decision, because the service provided by this company as well as David - the tour guide assigned to us was extraordinary. David spared no effort in making us feel like VIP customers. Undoubtedly, we will use Tour Beijing for our next trip to China and we highly recommend them.
Our first day in Beijing was so special thanks to Christy and this tour group. She was early meeting us at our hotel, spoke perfect English and was so knowledgeable about the sites we visited and Chinese history in general. She was also so open to questions about life in China today. A great lunch was included and she took us to a very nice tea ceremony we wouldn't have experienced on our own. We never felt rushed throughout the day and the driver was very safe. We love the tabaggon down from the wall! Definitely one of our trip highlights.
Our tour guide Jack met us with our driver at our hotel at the agreed time and then we drove out to the point where the helicopter was waiting for us. While we were driving Jack told us a lot about the history of China and the Great Wall. He was very outgoing and easy to like. We was equally interested in our culture (we are from Denmark) and he’s English proficiency was very high. We enjoyed having Jack as our guide for the day and would others to ask for him, as he is very nice, professional and an excellent story teller. Thank you for this great experience!
It was really a gift to find them online :) Our guide Smile was incredibly friendly and professional. They collected us on the scheduled time, the communication pre, during and post tour was brilliant and very good English-speaking level. We went to the great wall and since we met Smile she provided us with historical details and extra tips. As a kind last gesture she even helped us to book a table in a place we wanted to go after the tour. These little details make all the difference :)
I booked this Beijing tour online at last minute in December 2017 as I was not very confident booking it without any reference, you never know if it's for real but the reviews were good. It took us an hour longer than normal to get through customs at the airport because we didn't know where to get the entry visa and we didn't have phone or internet connection but Christy, our lovely and knowledgeable tour guide was already waiting at our hotel to welcome us. As soon as my daughter and I got to the hotel around 6pm, Christy took us in a beautiful luxury car with the driver and showed us around the lovely sights and briefed us about the culture and history of the city of Beijing. We got back to hotel around midnight. Early next morning, Christy was there to take us to the Great Wall of China (one of the most admirable sights I have ever seen). We went up in the cable and to the Great Wall. She seems very knowledgeable and very well versed in English and explained the history so well. Our driver was also a very gentle person who drove us everywhere so smoothly and safely, it was a very comfortable and relaxing ride. After this, they drove us straight to the airport around 1 pm. My stay was only 24 hours but Christy looked after us and made it so comfortable. In the beginning I thought it was expensive but it was actually really great value. It was so nice to have everything done and not have to worry about a thing. Thanks to Beijing Tour and their very capable staff, we made great memories in such a short time that we will always cherish. I have recommended to my friend here in Canada, to book with Beijing Tour (Christy) for her upcoming tour to China in a couple of weeks. I am re-posting my review as I realized that my first review that I wrote a year ago was not saved somehow.
We used this service in October 2018. We had a 13 hour layover in Beijing on our route between our home in Singapore and Busan. I wanted to take time to call out the excellent experience provided by our guide Lisa. In our situation, we are a multi-lingual family with our kids (ages 6 and 3) fluent in Mandarin and English. While we booked the tour expecting everything in English and made no mention of our understanding of Chinese, we enjoy promoting use of Chinese with our kids. Lisa went out of the way to provide both a historical tour of the Great Wall in English and also keep our kids engaged with Chinese. In the end, our kids didn't want to leave and be separated from Lisa, to whom they'd grown an attachment to in such a short time. We highly recommend this tour in any situation, but I would recommend Lisa in particular with a unique situation such as ours with young kids who enjoy using both Mandarin and English.
We were lucky enough to have David as our guide for our visit to the Great Wall of China at Mutianyu. David was very personal, humorous and knowledgeable. This a must see for anyone visiting Beijing. Make sure to smile when you're approaching the end of your ride on the open chair lift so you get a great photo!
It was a wonderful adventure for me. The beautiful scene, marvolus artitecture and challenged way, they all made the trip become better. Mako was my tour guide today. He’s a patient and knowledgeable person. Thanks to his flexibility so that I could had my trip be tremendous. I finally finished the adventure Jianko to whole Mutianyu. Many thanks.
This was the perfect tour for someone just interested in seeing what the Great Wall is all about, but not really exploring many parts of it. The Mutianyu section in the afternoon was practically empty, providing ample time to explore at our leisure and take many pictures. I can’t recommend our tour guide, Angela, to you enough. She was sent straight from heaven and made the tour exceptional. I had an interest in getting “the perfect picture” and she was standing on top of the wall taking my picture, while holding my jacket and bag. I mean c’mon who does that? She was amazing! My mother has a bad leg and she was so thoughtful about keeping with her pace and going to sections that were easy to navigate. She provided us with SO much information, not only about the Great Wall but about Beijing, China in general, and other historic sites we had visited on our trip. I almost forgot I was there to see the wall because I was having so much fun with Angela!! The real kicker is just when we were about to leave, my mom noticed one of the souvenirs she had bought was broken and Angela went ALL THE WAY BACK to the stand, which was at least a 10-15 minute walk, by herself, and exchanged the souvenir for us. What a sweetheart! I HIGHLY recommend this tour to all, and consider yourself HIGHLY fortunate if you happen to get Angela as your guide.
This trip to great Wall I will always remember. Out guide was great in giving us all the information about the wall and places to take great pictures. The cable car is the best way to go and come back on the tour of the wall. We went early and beat the long lines for the cable car.
On our bucket list and we decided to have the private tour. We had Dirk as our guide and got realy god day with lots of information and fun. Recomend to have the moorning trip to avoid the crowd.
I would ABSOLUTELY recommend this tour to anyone. It was very much worth the cost. To be picked up at your hotel, driven 90 minutes to the tour site in a nice car, taken past all the lines at the Great Wall and have everything explained to you in English, JUST CAN'T BE BEAT. Booking this tour saved us so much time and aggravation of lines and language barriers.
The Great Wall - a must see of the seven wonders of the world and truly impressive beyond all pictures and from what one has read. Definitely go as early as you can. We arrived around 9:30 am and by 11:30 you could barely move and forgot about taking any pictures that don't have peoples' heads in them. The serenity of the wall in the morning is amazing, particularly if you have a beautiful day. The Private Tour - you get exactly what you pay for - it is just that $360 for two people is very expensive compared to what you can arrange in Beijing (for example through our hotel would have been cheaper for a nicer car). The car and tour guide were there before 8:00 am at the hotel, the car was nice, comfortable, and the driver very safe. The chairlift/toboggan roundtrip was 120Yen ($18 USD). so you are basically paying for the car, driver, and the tour guide for 5 hours. The Tour Guide - while a very friendly lady with so-so English...during the 1.5 hour ride from Beijing she never told us anything about the Wall -- she was on her cell phone most of the time. We decided to read about the Wall on Wikipedia before we got there. On sight, her explanation was minimal and uninspiring. She was frankly overbearing and annoying when she wanted to take our pictures (I know how to use my camera, thank you). I would have preferred a more thorough and history-filled tour to explain such a masterpiece as the Great Wall. Another pet peeve -- she took us to the "State-run and approved" souvenir shop on-sight, and told us we could have engraved keychains with our names and date of our climb on them - only after purchasing them did we find out that they don't do engraving there! Grrrrrrrr I would recommend checking other companies, or with your hotel, for better priced tours. I wish I had done better research and/or found a tour guide that came recommended.
We had an awesome time with this company! We booked a day tour about a month prior to our trip and they were great about communicating details about the tour. We had a few last min complications and had to cut our day short and they were very helpful and accommodating at making the tour shorter so we could still see some of the Wall. We were picked up at our hostel and Jack was our tour guide. He was awesome and gave us history and information about the wall and Beijing. We had an amazing time walking around on the wall and Jack was so friendly and helpful and was always willing to take pictures for us. One of our favorite parts was the tobogganing down at the end. It was a great way to end the tour. I would highly recommend this company! And definitely ask for Jack:)
The Great Wall was incredible and this half day tour made the experience easier in every way (skipping lines, ease of transportation, etc.). Angela was a great guide - knowledgeable, happy to answer questions, and very friendly. Highly recommend!
Took a half day tour to Mutianyu Great Wall since we had a few hours between flights. Dirk as our tour guide was wonderful: great english, excellent knowledge of wall & area, and overall a really uncomplicated and fun guy to be with! Highly recommended!
I went to Beijing for a conference and only have a very short window of opportunity to do the one thing i need to do since this is my first time here. I randomly search for Great wall tour package until I came across tour-beijing.com. What I wanted is something a bit different than a regular Great Wall tour and it has to be done in a day. Then I saw an option that allows me to explore the unrestored section of great wall. Long story short, Vicky Huo hooked me up with the best itinerary and I said yes!. It was a private tour for my friend and I! Our guide, Oliver is just awesome! He has so many stories to tell. You won't have problem communicating with him. You can tell that he is very passionate with his job. Oliver and the driver picked us up from our hotel with an Audi. (I mean, have you ever started your hiking trip with an Audi?). The first leg of the Great Wall tour was the most challenging hike, especially if you don't do this regularly. So, make sure you are up to the challenge and sets your mind to it. But, once you are up to the first sight of the unrestored section of Jiankou Great wall, it'll be the best feeling. What a view! you won't regret your decision, even after the gruelling hike!. You just wanna stop and experience the moment. From there on, it will be a beautiful hike up and down the unrestored section of the wall, till you merge with restored section of Muntianyu, where you meet with the rest of the other tourists. It'll be a very tiring but satisfying trip and you will be thankful for the air-conditioned Audi that came with the package :) They will also provide you with lunch, but since there wasn't any halal food option available, they provided us with vegetarian meal, which is still ok. I would highly recommend them for your Great Wall adventure! (p/s and request for Oliver the tourguide)
The saying "going the extra mile" was made for David Stone. Me and my friends (from age 19 to 24) were welcomed and treated warmly and professionally with our Tour guide David. We came as newcomers, and left as friends. I highly recommend this Tour Guide.
This company was wonderful! Because of coming inclement weather they were able to accommodate us in changing our tour date with very little notice. Angela was knowledgeable, kind and patient. If I could give them 10 stars I would!
Driver and guide were early, the guide was very knowledgeable about the area and the Great Wall. When we were there we were the only people on the wall it was amazing. Gondola up and Toboggan down. One of the highlights of the trip of our two weeks in China
Our tour to the Great Wall was a perfect day in every way. The company were very helpful in putting together a special tour for us. They tailored a package so that we could also do a short rickshaw tour of the Hutongs after our visit to the Wall and lunch. Our tour guide arrived at our hotel promptly on the morning of our tour, as promised, so that we could go to the Wall before it got too hot and too busy. Jenny was a wonderful guide and helped us enjoy the all the sites and to negotiate a vegan lunch for me too. She was funny and friendly, and nothing was too much trouble for her. Thank you Jenny and thank you Tour-Beijing!
Our tour guide was Jack. Very knowledgeable English is good. Allowed us to go at our own pace. We did the Ming Tombs in the morning and the wall in the afternoon. I suggest the you do the wall in the morning and the Ming tombs in the afternoon. We took the lift chair to the top. Unfortunately it rained whilst we were on the wall therefore the Toboggan was shutdown and we returned via the chair lift. The rain was also a blessing as it cooled the temperature down some was 36 degrees when we went up. Great experience all round.
Great tour. Worth every penny. Nice car. Our guide spoke really good English, easy to understand. We had afternoon tour. That was smart, there were almost nobody else there. And we had cable car up and tobaggon down. Very funny!
Booked a Private Half day tour to Mutianyu. The booking was easy, and the trip was excellent. Jenny was my tour guide and she was truly exceptional. She was on-time, spoke fluent English and was very knowledgeable. And icing on cake- she is an excellent photographer. Jenny arrived early(7.15AM) and waited for me. The car was very clean and the driver was very good too. We left early and were at the wall at 9.30AM. It was not crowded and no lines for either the cable car or the Toboggan. Few tips- Make sure to come down via Toboggan. It was truly amazing experience. and ask for Jenny when making reservation- she will click the best pictures that you will cherish for life and brag about being at the Great Wall!

I highly recommend this tour. This was such a wonderful experience! Our tour guide and driver picked us up from our hotel, on time in a wonderful car. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable, and spoke English, well. When we got to the Great Wall we bypassed the lines and drove straight in so awesome. This side of the Great Wall was so beautiful, so green, and the toboggan ride down the side of the wall was a really fun way to end the experience.

We book two days tour. Cristy, our guide, picked us at the hotel on schedule. She speaks very good English. The car was very good and clean. The driver was very nice and helpful. At the first day we went to tiananmen square and then, to the Forbidden City. Cristy knew very well the history of the places, what made the tour more interesting. On second day we went to Mutianyu Great Wall ; everything was perfect, despite the terrible traffic due the may first holidays . We had a great time ! Everything was perfect !
What an amazing view to have the chance to witness the mighty of mankind and the history behind it. Also we had lots of fun descending on the tobogan. No surprise it is a wonder of the world
Our first day in Beijing and we were lucky to spend it with our guide Jenny. On the way to The Summer Palace Jenny gave us a very interesting introduction to Beijing explaining some of the sights and interesting facts including some suggestions of what to do in the evening. Lovely walk through Summer Palace at a very comfortable pace and again Jenny had lots of information to share. After a long car trip to Great Wall we stopped for a very enjoyable lunch before choosing how we were going to go to the top of The Wall. Jenny was very flexible and gave us the choice of what we wanted to do. Of course The Great Wall was amazing. Jenny's english is very good and it was very easy to chat and ask questions - especially in the long car trip. We would highly recommend this tour.
We booked a 3-days tour and our tour guide, Debbie is fantastic. She is friendly and very knowledgable about the area as well as the history of the places we visited...and we visited a lot of places! The highlight of our tour is deffinitely the mutianyu great wall. Highly recommended to use this tour company.
We used Day-Tour-Beijing Tour to visit the Great Wall at Mutianyu and we very much enjoyed our trip. Our guide Angela was very nice and made sure to share historic details as well as contemporary insights on Chinese culture with us. We met her in the lobby of our hotel and the driver, Mr Yang, took the scenic way through the countryside to get us to the site. We used the cable car and the elevator to go up to the wall, however, there were some more steps to climb and the path was steep at times, so I would recommend to wear adequate shoes. It was windy and foggy when we got to the Wall but still spectacular and well worth it. I would recommend this touring company for a hassle free visit of Beijing's wonders.
