Private Beijing Day Trip: Mutianyu Great Wall And Ming Tombs

This was an excellent one day private tour, our tour guide Lisa was amazing, professional, and accommodating, thanks for the great experience!. Starting early is a must to avoid the crowds at the wall, you will have plenty time for photos and to explore as many towers as you want on your own. Lunch buffet was the best, great food selection and it was tasty. Transportation was good and comfortable, as well as a very good driver. We closed the day with an optional acrobatic show which we also recommend! Overall 10 out of 10.

Taking the BusDa special line is highly efficient! Depart from Exit B, Heping West Bridge Station at 07:30, arriving at Mutianyu in about 1.5 hours directly. Tickets and shuttle bus are included, with no queuing. You have 4 hours to visit from 09:00 to 13:00. Take the cable car to Tower 14 and hike the popular west section (Towers 14–20). Tower 15 is a filming spot of If You Are the One, and Tower 20 offers stunning panoramic views. For more adventure, take the chairlift up and slide down. Entrance ticket ¥45, round-trip cable car ¥140, chairlift + slide ¥140. No shopping stops. Return at 13:00, enjoying the magnificent Great Wall comfortably.

We have had amazing experience with the guide Ling :) she picked us up from the hotel and dropped off after the trip. The day was super enjoyable and fun experience. Fully recommended if u want to visit the Great Wall of China and u have limited time.

From the moment we met her, she went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable, informed, and enjoying every moment. She took her time to explain everything clearly, brought us water, and even offered to take photos of us — she knew all the best angles and tricks to get great shots! It was such a thoughtful and personal touch that made the day even better. What stood out the most was her kindness and genuine care. She was incredibly sweet, patient, and made us feel like more than just tourists. It truly felt like we were being shown around by a friend who wanted us to have the best experience possible.

Such a great experience! Very Safe driver and we loved Sally our guide who was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. The private car was very clean and extremely comfortable. Starting the tour as early as possible and leaving Beijing early helped us to avoid the traffic and long lines that we saw as we were finishing the locations. 5 stars for sure!!

Visiting the Great Wall at Mutianyu was incredible! The drive from Beijing was smooth, and our guide Ling shared interesting history along the way. The cable car made the climb easy, and walking the Wall with its stunning mountain views was unforgettable. It’s well restored and less crowded than other sections, perfect for photos and exploration.

It was a great experience, Ling and Kung are very responsible and helpful, always replying on time and very punctual.Would recommend them for sure!

Very great experience. It was convenient having Kong by our side. He picked and drop us up from our Hotel to the Great Wall and back to the Hotel. Good customer service! We did the 7am pick up time so we have quicker travel time to avoid traffic as well as awesome pictures because tourists were not plenty by the time we arrived. Thank you so much, Kong!

Had an amazing short trip to the Great Wall of China with colleagues! Everything was well-organized, from hotel pickup to drop-off, including tickets. The driver was very friendly and made the journey smooth. The highlight was definitely the slide down—it was so much fun! We had a wonderful experience climbing The Great Wall, and visiting the Ming Tombs. Our guide, Felix, was exceptionally knowledgeable about China and its history. He was also patient and very entertaining which made our tour more memorable. Thank you, and looking forward to our next visit to Beijing.

We were 10 minutes early for our tour but our guide was already there. Introductions were pleasant and our car was waiting outside for us. We were away promptly and had a pleasant drive to the wall. Lisa, our guide was happy to answer all our question and provided loads of info, along with water (& toilet paper) . Once at the wall she obtained our chairlift ticket and off we went. It was the highlight of our trip to China, just awesome. We walked, climbed and scaled our way along. Lisa took loads of pictures of us on the wall. The views were incredible. Then back in the car, which was lovely & comfortable, for lunch. Lisa ordered for us checking what meats we would eat. Best chin4meal I've ever had and she even ordered my husband a Chinese beer which he loves. This was followed by the ming tombs, again so impressive and then Lisa took us to a jade factory, again impressive. Back to our hotel after a full day out. Excellent guide and driver, would definitely recommend.

Been there with my friends, comfortable transportation, water bottle as a bonus. Friendly environment. The tour was nice. Would recommend to go in November so the trees will be orange yellow red etc. And the slide from the top of the mall at the end gives you some positive energy at the end

Kong was amazing he was waiting for us as pick up before time, took us directly to the Great Wall in comfort and arranged our tickets without us needing to do anything. Everything included and he is a lovely man well spoken English :) Thank you Kong!!

We had an amazing driver who arranged for us a perfect day in the Great of of China. He pick us from hotel and and provide the tickets for slide and lift up, and waited us until we finished the walk on the great wall . From the hotel pick up to the drop off we were well looked after. Linda made everything so easy for us and kept us well informed about the culture and the history. Lunch was a tasty spread too.

It was a lovely trip from the hotel to the wall. The driver was on time. The van was comfortable and water was provided. The timing was perfect, not too crowded.

Must visit when in Beijing! It is good to go in early morning as it isn’t too crowded. Enjoyed the trip and the slide down was definitely a highlight of the day.

Well organized, one-time, and good tour guide (Lili). I had a couple of requests so was open to reorganizing the order a little bit to accommodate me. Lili was very knowledgeable and would give a good heads-up on what was coming up ahead, so made for a smooth enjoyable experience Would definitely recommend it

Rita picked me up timely from my hotel for the drive to Mutianyu. She was very conversational and informative about visiting Beijing. The car was clean and the drive from location to location was smooth and safe. Going up to the Wall, Rita gave me a choice between taking the cablecar or the chairlift up with toboggan down. I definitely recommend the chairlift and toboggan, like she suggested, for a more memorable experience. She then took me for a very good lunch nearby before we headed to the Dingling Mausoleum, which was worth visiting for about one hour. Just note that the tour includes entrance to and accompaniment to the Dingling Mausoleum or the Changling Mausoluem but does not include the Sacred Way in the Ming Dynasty tombs area.

Visited here on our first full day in Beijing. Miko our tour leader and the driver picked us up from the hotel which is very convenient in China since not a lot of people speak english. The Great Wall was an interesting walk though a little slippery and very cold when we visited. Miko was very professional in giving us the history of the wall and answered all our questions. He was very keen of talking pictures for us which meant we could keep our gloves on. Had a lunch at a traditional tea house which was also very good as you can taste what the Chinese home cooking is. Ming tombs was also interesting although a bit of a downer after the amazing Great wall. Miko also helped us do some shopping after the tour. Don't usually do these kinds of tours but I loved this one.
