Our guide will hold a name sign to meet you at your selected pickup location. You may choose either central Beijing hotel pickup or airport transfer service. You will then travel directly with your private driver to Mutianyu Great Wall. Mutianyu Great Wall sits just outside Beijing, around 1.5–2 hours by car. This section is far less crowded and boasts stunning scenery, with roughly 96% of the area blanketed in lush woodland. As one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, the Great Wall offers fantastic hiking opportunities. If you do not wish to hike the full stretch, you can take the cable car uphill. Your descent options include: cable car round trip, chairlift up & cable car down, or the thrilling toboggan slide downhill. After exploring the wall, you will have free time for lunch with local dishes at the foot of the Great Wall. Upon tour completion, we will transfer you back to your original drop-off location (hotel or airport, based on your selected option).
Fang was absolutely brilliant. He picked us up at our hotel in a very nice car, and we had a private tour to the Great Wall. He was extremely helpful and kind, gave us very good advice and took us for a wonderful lunch afterwards. Be careful when you go into the shops. at the arrivals area, as they are asking four times what anything is worth, so you really have to haggle them down.
This trip was amazing ! The tour guide picked us up from the hotel! Took us upto The Great Wall ! All tickets where included in the price !he walked us through right upto the cable cart lift. We went up on the cable carts and then walked about for half an hour. Then got the toboggan back down the mountain! Honestly 10 outta 10 we had such an amazing day. The driver had water for us getting into the vehicle and getting back to it after our tour! Very polite and kind even through google translate.
We had an excellent time on this tour. We were forunate enough to experience both good weather and short queues on the day, with the toboggan ride being a highlight. The smaller group size works well as it felt intimate and there was plenty of time to ask any questions to our guide Lucy, who was equally as great and provided lots of information during the bus ride to the wall. Organisational wise, this tour removes the hassle of having to buy everything independently whilst also learning some facts about both Beijing and the Great Wall.

We had a wonderful tour experience with Lucy and Mr Wong! Lucy was very patient waiting for us as we were delayed through immigration when we landed. She was very knowledgeable and friendly and easy to communicate with. And as we were delayed she was very good at improvising and adjusting the schedule to make the most of our time. The great wall was incredible and not busy at all. She arranged for us to go to a local authentic local restaurant afterwards and the food was delicious! Thanks Lucy and Mr Wong for a very memorable day! And thanks for your patience especially with my two very excited (and tired!) little children!! 😀
We were on a layover at Beijing Airport and I went on this tour with my husband,daughter and 2 grandchildren. Lucy and her driver Mr Wong were waiting for us.Our flight was delayed and we also took some time negotiating immigration etc.However,Lucy was very patient and accommodated us on an improvised schedule.Her driver also managed to arrange for us to be driven on a part of the road to The Wall instead of waiting on the shuttle bus giving us more time. Lucy was very friendly and knowledgeable regarding the history of The Great Wall. We enjoyed the cable car and then our time on the Wall itself which was amazing. Afterwards Lucy took us to a local restaurant where we enjoyed wonderfully delicious food.We hope to visit Beijing again and take part in this tour again and also would recommend it to anyone.Thanks once again Lucy and Mr Wong!
Great day out. Really enjoyed seeing one of the great wonders ! Wendy was a lovely tour guide and gave us lots of information on our drive to the wall, both about the wall and Chinese phrases/ culture in general. We took the open cable car up and Wendy queued for us in the toboggan slide queue while we hiked the wall to save us time for the way back down which I highly recommend. The toboggan slide was loads of fun and def the best way to go down. We ended the day trying different teas in the tea house at the bottom of the wall which was both tasty and informative 😀 Wendy even helped us book our tickets for the forbidden city the next day which was really helpful. Five star experience
Fantastic customised 1/2 day trip, thanks to Lucy, our English speaking guide. First we were picked up near the Forbidden City in a brand new and very comfortable family van (equipped with sweets and new water bottles at every stage of the day), then stopped for lunch at a buffet restaurant closer to the Great Wall, and at the end of the day, we were escorted back and dropped off at our hotel. Lucy is very passionate and knowledgeable, and during our journey to the Great Wall, she went into a lot of details about the country history and facts related to China’s history and the Great Wall’s construction and facts. We also discussed other areas to visit in China for a future trip. This was a gloriously sunny Spring day to take the cable lift up to the Great Wall and wander around this very impressive section of the wall (MuTianYu section), to then take the toboggan back to the shuttle area. As a note the toboggan is a must-do, not an option to overlook. Despite being a holiday in China and the unusually busy day on roads and queuing to get to the wall, the extra wait was worth every minute of fun we had on that day and we enjoyed this 1/2 day tour immensely. Obviously none of this would have been possible without both our driver and our guide (Lucy), who were both very patient and efficient. Thanks to Lucy, I can safely say that we were convinced we should come back and enjoy more of this delightful country sooner than later. Thank you again Lucy.
I visited the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall with my work team, and we had an incredible experience! The views were absolutely breathtaking—endless rolling mountains, ancient watchtowers, and the Wall winding through the landscape like a scene from a postcard. Wendy was an amazing guide—friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about sharing the history and culture of China. She explained everything in such an engaging way, making our visit even more memorable.

Highly recommend Booking with Lily. 9 hour layovers can be boring. Not this one!! Amazing and It’s so easy. Once your off the plane look for the signs for 24 hour free visa. (They made it simple so tourists can enjoy the sights) Lily and her driver had a sign with our names on it however they recognized me before I even noticed the sign. Jumped in an air-conditioned car. Nice vehicle. Water. Lily spoke english well, told us some history and fun facts about China, She got our tickets, took us up the gondola to the Great Wall. We walked around took photos then took the toboggan down. Had a yummy lunch and jumped in the car back to the airport. Great Wall checked off “The Bucket List” 100% MUST DO! Lily assisted us at the airport too. If we’re need to do a layover in the future we will plan to do a similar layover. Forbidden City?
Thank you, Lisa, for making out short stay in China a memorable one. Our plane was delayed by two hours. We were supposed to meet the guide at 12:30 but our flight arrived at 2:00pm. Then we had to undergo the gauntlet of Security, Customs, etc., all done by people who barely speak English. Finally, we went to get a temporary visa and were told by the visa officer that it was already too late to do anything and that we would best sit down to wait our flight home. However, we ignored his advice (we had nothing to lose and 11 hours to kill) and went forward with our visa to hunt out our guide. And to our everlasting surprise and gratitude, once we got to our assigned meeting place, Starbucks, she spotted us at once, introducing herself. Within a few minutes, we were being whisked away by our private vehicle, a Buick SUV, and out of the airport in no time flat. Although it was close to 3 o'clock by now we did have enough time to visit the Great Wall of China., which was our real prime objective, all along. We spent a little more than an hour there, rushing a bit, but enjoying ourselves immensely. Indeed, we did not get to see the Forbidden Palace or Tienaman Sq., but I can't blame the tour guides for this. It was the airline, if anyone, who should be held responsible for their delaying shenanigans. I now know that to plan this type of tour properly, one has to leave cushion time for such unknown but not unexpected delays and problems. But getting back to my tour, the guide, Lisa, was extremely pleasant and knowledgeable. She was open to my questions, even those that were not directly related to the Great Wall. Just a nice person doing a very professional job. After the Great Wall, we went to a very decent, home-style, restaurant and had a wonderful vegetarian meal. I especially liked watch them produce home-made tofu. Our driver was a nice young man who also made us feel very comfortable and drove very safely. After that, we were left off at the airport with plenty of time before our flight home. All in all, it was a great experience that was salvaged from potential disaster. They are one of the most thoughtful and attentive tour companies out there. We have gone with many tours and they really look to your needs and make sure you were comfortable. They pick you up on from from the airport and got us there back in time. We also modified our tour to not only see the wall, we were also able to see the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square. They took us to the part of the wall where there were not a lot of people so we had great photos! They also gave us the option to see shows or go shopping. They also brought us to where the locals eat. We had the most amazing food. They really Lilly is a great tour guide and she really makes sure you're not worried about getting back to the airport on time. It's great that you don't have to worry about that because the tour company is taking care of you. My wife really enjoyed our tour. Lilly also knows where the best spots are to take for photos. She was also very knowledgeable about the history of the place. We were able to get great photo memories. If we were to go back to Beijing, I will use Lily's tour services again.
This was a really fantastic tour! The airport pickup and drop-off were flawless, and my guide, Lily, was very knowledgeable. Walking the Great Wall was incredible - it is truly a world wonder. Lily also worked really hard to accommodate my food allergies at lunch, and I had an awesome Chinese meal that I'll definitely never forget. The Forbidden City is worth a couple of days in itself and I can't wait to go back to Beijing and explore some more. Thank you, Lily!
<p>Our tour guide was the best!<br/> I believe her name was Julie, if I can remember correctly.<br/> It took forever to come out of customs and she was very patient with us.<br/> On the way to Mutianyu, she gave us history on Beijing, the Great Wall and exchanged our USD to RMB saving us from the airport exchange fees.<br/> She allowed us personal time on the wall and even made sure we made it back down the gondola before the ride closed for the evening.<br/> She spoke English very well and was truly a great all around. <p>As mentioned in the prior review, the main asset this tour provides is a private driver who will meet you in the airport and drive you to the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall. He'll help you buy tickets if you have some preference for the cable car or the toboggan, make sure you tell him in advance. I took the cable car both up and down, but taking the toboggan down would have been less tiring since I wouldn't have had to double back all the way to the cable car station after hiking all the way to the grand turret. Make sure to pace yourselves if you want to hit all the major points along the Mutianyu section within 2 hours, as the wall gets very steep and it was quite tiring, and I consider myself to be in pretty good shape.</p> <p>After directing you to the shuttle bus station at the main entrance to the Great Wall village, the driver will wait for you around where the tickets are purchased.</p> <p>One thing not mentioned here is that if you have data in China I use T-Mobile which gives me inclusive roaming coverage, download WeChat in advance so that you can use it to communicate with your driver when you're not with him.</p> <p>All in all, this was well worth the money paid and I'd wholeheartedly recommend it, particularly since having the driver meet you in the airport and take you back right away lets you make the most of a tight schedule.</p>
<p>I would not call this a tour... More like a semi English speaking driver who drove us to the tourist center. He helped us purchase tickets to take a bus and the lifts to the top. He gave us a cell phone to call him when we were ready to be picked up (after taking lift and bus back).</p>
