Great guide, Lilly, lots of good history along the way. Forbidden city is huge but lots of the same things so for the size of it not a huge amount of variety. But no complaints from the tour, great job.

We had a wonderful visit to the Forbidden City. Our guide, Iris, was friendly, knowledgeable, and exceptionally well organized, which made the experience both enjoyable and informative. She shared fascinating insights and helped us appreciate the rich history and culture of this incredible place. Overall, it was a fantastic tour, and we highly recommend it.
We had a really good time exploring the forbidden city. It's a lot of walking but we made a few stops to here and there to regain some energy. Our tour guide was super cute and friendly and explained everything in pretty good English. Now I just wish to find someone who's caring as much about me as our guide about the whereabouts of baby family. Thank you very much!
All the arrangements made were perfect, and the we moved efficiently through the “fast track” queues for Tiananmen Square and the forbidden city, though even the fast track does have some decent waits. Our guide was kind and knowledgeable, but felt like it was mostly fact regurgitation and I didn’t find the information very compelling despite the incredible history of the forbidden city. Overall, a solid tour, but at the price I was hoping for something a bit more memorable.
Melanie was our tour guide and she was excellent. She always gave us time to take photos and also was taking a photos of us in the most scenic places. She shared her knowledge and her stories were amazing. Definitely would recommend!
Honestly, this is one of the best tour companies I’ve ever booked with. Their communication was top-notch—they reached out the day before and kept us updated the morning of the tour, making everything completely seamless and stress-free. Every interaction was polite, professional, and genuinely appreciative. Our guide, Mary, was incredible! She was so much fun to be around, deeply knowledgeable about the history, and you could genuinely feel how much she loves what she does. Best of all, unlike so many tours where guides constantly pressure you for tips or reviews, Mary and the team were completely relaxed and let their amazing service speak for itself. That alone earned this 5-star review. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Beijing and would book with them again in a heartbeat!
Our tour of the forbidden city & tianemen square was quite informative. Snow was a great and knowledgeable tour guide. The tour however is a lot of walking (more than you would think) with very few if any breaks. A break to sit and drink water for a few minutes would have been nice. The tour was also way longer than we expected, lasting almost 4 hours.
After a tricky start for the poor guide, Helen, trying to herd/collect the gang for our tour, we enjoyed a comprehensive and educational visit with good explanation of all the history and construction of the city. It is huge, so the legs had a good work out. Some of the more spectacular buildings were hard to see inside with hundreds of people shoving selfishly for a glimpse and the lack of lighting due to sensitivity about fire didn't help. A good camera was useful! The treasures were a particular highlight with some of the most beautiful artefacts I have ever seen. Overall, it could probably have been slightly shorter. But the guide was very knowledgeable and pleasant.
This was a good tour with lots of information. It is quite long but the forbidden city is enormous! Helen was a fantastic guide who looked after us and answered all the questions.
Lili was a great guide! She was very friendly and shared lots of interesting facts, which made the tour really entertaining and enjoyable. We had a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend booking this tour!
Melonie was an amazing tour guide that provided great facts, helped take pictures, and enabled us to see lots of sights. She also helped recommend restaurants in Beijing and near the Mutianyu Great Wall. Highly recommend booking this to maximize the sites you see without the hassle of buying tickets.
Great walking tour of T Square, Forbidden City, quite exhausting though lasting about 5hrs of walking. No choice but to do it by foot. Tour guide Shine was amazing. Very knowledgeable and provided a lot of information. Overall a great experience, strongly recommend.
Endless glory of the history! The scale and beauty of China… We wish to come again… The palace was huge and we wish to be staying until the end but we had to leave in the middle of the tour. Next time we hope to plan a full day visit. It was a huge delight and an honor to visit a place with enormous meaning for the history…
Melonie was a fantastic guide! Excellent English, very knowledgeable, and personable! We highly recommend her, she was excellent!
Andrew excellent small group tour that takes the stress out of seeing these two must see sights. Snow was our tour guide and she was fantastic. So knowledgeable and friendly and absolutely made the tour for us. Highly recommended. Thanks for an excellent experience.
My visit to the Forbidden City wouldn't have been the same without Linda. The scale of the Palace Museum is massive and can easily feel overwhelming, but Linda turned a complex maze of history into a captivating story. Their deep knowledge of the Ming and Qing dynasties, combined with fascinating anecdotes, made every courtyard and hall feel like it was jumping right out of the past. No question was too small, and the pacing of the walk felt smooth and unhurried. If you want to truly understand the history rather than just stare at buildings, book a tour with Linda !"
Our tour guide, Steven, was phenomenal! He was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and engaging, making the entire experience both enjoyable and memorable. His enthusiasm, attention to detail, and willingness to answer questions truly made the tour special. I highly recommend this experience, especially if you’re fortunate enough to have Steven as your guide!
The tour was amazing and the guide Snow is fantastic, a lot ot knowledge from history of the tour to share and a very dynamic person. Pretty nice!
We had a wonderful experience. Our guide Shine was so knowledgeable and shared his passion about the Forbidden City. We learnt so much. He made it so entertaining for us but aloa for the kids. It was our best tour!
Be prepared to spend a lot of time wandering through the square and the city. The tour is not rushed and very informative, with plenty of opportunities to take photos and soak up your surroundings. Vanessa was extremely knowledgable and a great guide!
This tour was amazing! Our guide Iris was funny, knowledgeable and helpful! It was our first tour in Beijing and it set the bar high, I feel like I learned a lot about the history of both places, highly recommend!
Great experience and the tour guide was very good! The details of her explanations and the amount of time left to view and walk around each areas was well planned!
Richard our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and ensured we saw places the normal crowd don't see Even though it says 4 hours it was 5 hours due to queues getting into both places Highly recommended Also I would ensure you pack a snack and some water
Do this tour if you want to see Tianemen Square and Forbidden City. We did this tour on our first day in Beijing. Super easy instructions on where to meet made it a smooth and worry free day. Melonie was our tour guide was bubbly and easy-going. She gave us good historical facts on the sites and took us to the places to take the best pics. Melonie also gave us pointers on where to eat peking duck Dumplings and Noodles..yum yum and yum!
Guide was extremely knoweledgable but one comment would be she needed to talk a little slower
Snow guided us through Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City with true professionalism, excellent English, and real passion for her city's history. She made every moment fascinating. Highly recommended!
Great tour and our guide Julia was very helpful! We would do it again and loved seeing all the temples/palace
Very interesting tour through the forbidden city. The guide was very knowledgeable about the history of the place. The tour only covers the most important locations but the city itself is huge so you cam explore on your own after the tour ends. My advice is to visit the park across the street where you exit the city. You can climb on top of the pavilion there and get great view of the city from above.
Tour was great. Our tour guide Helen was wonderful and very accommodating. It was raininv so she gave rauncoats to few people. It took us 1.5 hrs to get inside Tiananmen square due to long lines but Helen did not rush and made sure we see everything inside Forbidden city. She spent extra 2 hours. At the end of the tour she took us to the bus stop tk make sure we take the right bus and even offered 15 CNY for the bus fare since busses don't carry change. Thank you Helen for your expertise and kindless.
Tiananmen Square and Forbidden City guided tour was an amazing experience! Finally got to see these famous places. Super enlightening! Our tour guide Vanessa was excellent and made the tour even more interesting with her interesting commentary. Highly recommend!!
Today we did a tour of Tianmen Sq and the Forbidden City with the company Mubus and with the most informative tour guide ever! We went into the tour knowing nothing about Chinese history and left in awe at the depth of the history that the walls held! Melonie was at the meeting spot promptly and helped us to make our way to Tianmen Square smoothly regardless of the Golden Week crowds, as well as talking to us about interesting facts and knowledge of Beijing! She allowed us ample time to explore all the places in depth and knew everything there was to know about each place and historical event that was relevant - she even showed us the best photo spots and helped us to take some amazing pictures! Our tour group had 10 people in it and she managed to make us all feel included in the tour and even went above and beyond with giving us local food and sight-seeing recommendations, she also went out of her way to provide me information and help with my china trip after the tour was over through WeChat! In the Forbidden City, she took us through the whole history of the buildings and even showed us less visited beautiful spots on the tour and made sure everyone was with the group at all times! At the end, she gave us some wonderful Empress history and even showed us pictures of her and what we know about her reign - I have never met someone so eager to help and so wonderful to talk to while still being so informative! Melonie was the was the best and really made the trip a worthwhile visit, thank you so much from all of us!
The tour guide Lily was amazing The tour was excellent . We learnt a lot She is highly recommended. I would suggest this tour to anyone who wishes to visit.
I highly recommend taking this tour. Our guide, Julia, was very attentive and provided us with a wealth of detailed information about the history of the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square. My phone was running low on battery, and she kindly lent me her charger for part of the tour, which was very thoughtful and helpful. I definitely recommend this tour and Julia as a guide.
Our visit to Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City was seamless and unforgettable thanks to Julia. She was exceptionally knowledgeable, friendly, and navigated the security checks and crowds effortlessly. Her storytelling brought centuries of history to life, and she went out of her way to ensure we were comfortable and captured great photos along the way. We couldn't have asked for a better guide—highly recommended!
The guide was very knowlegded and helpful! You just have to wait very long to get to the square and the tour was longer than said. You get a lot for your money but for me it was almost too long and to much information.
Vanessa is an amazing touristic guide that we never snd ever we met before .She is very professional and amazing person . My husband and I really enjoyed this experience with our guide Vanessa.
A walk through of Chinese history in great detail. To stand in and appreciate the beautiful buildings was amazing, made particularly special by Helen our guide.
Vanessa , where do I start , what brilliant knowledge , well spoken with passion and knowledge and clarity, thanks for a lovely day , I had a brilliant time, 👏, extremely tired now, but well worth the cost .
It is good but people need to get ready to walk a lot, the place is very crowded, and this make the experience some kind of sour, bjt it is not beause the guide, it to much vvisitors allowed in one day
Our guide Vanessa was exceptional in her knowledge of the history and provided clear explanation of the buildings and their occupants. I have been to the Forbidden city previously and I learned a lot from her narrative. Her English was clear and sufficiently loud enough for the whole group to hear. Highly recommend this tour
VOur guide Neal provided a very thorough exclamation of the history of each area not rushed easy to understand, funny and a great picture taker😀
Neil was excellent. Great tour
Helen gave us a great deal of information, helped us in every possible way, and guided us through the fascinating history of the Forbidden City.
We all found the tour really captivating and the depth of Vanessa’s knowledge incredible. So fun to learn that much about Chinese history on top of viewing the beautiful buildings. Skiping some of the lines also made the whole experience a lot more enjoyable as it was a huge area to explore which was a bit harsh on the feet.
The Forbidden City wonderful, our guide Vanessa made it even a better experience.
Very good tour. Snow was enthusiastic and positive and very good at answering our questions. Very good up front communication on day prior to meet up to confirm logistics. The Forbidden city itself is pretty extraordinary. Several passport checks needed so be prepared to share with provider. Recommended
We were able to get checked by security fairly quickly. Our guide, Mary, kept us entertained by lots of fun stories, facts and important historical dates. She reviewed this information throughout the day to help us make the connections with what we were seeing within the walls of the Forbidden City. It was a lovely morning and at the end of the tour, Mary pointed me in the right direction to walk to the top of Jingshan Hill (opposite north exit) and also gave me recommendations for lunch. A memorable and exciting day for me! Can't wait to choose another fascinating tour!
Vanessa was a fantastic guide, she put in so much effort and was always smiling despite the blistering heat. She was extremely informative and just a lovely guide, without whom it would have been difficult to navigate forbidden city
The tour was very nice, rich of information, details and our guide Vanessa was amazing, very happy and sympathetic during the all tour. The visitation to the Forbidden City worths and I would recommend to everybody that comes to Beijing!
Neo was a gentle and well informed guide. The tour itself was good but I’d say it’s not for the faint-hearted because the queue for T Square was nearly 2 hours long and it was around 33 degrees! One point worth noting - the meet up point listed on the tripadvisor booking confirmation was totally wrong. Follow the meet up directions that the company sends you via the WhatsApp you will receive once you’ve paid for the ticket.
